Description
The present invention is used in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a facsimile machine, and a printer, and a sheet post-processing apparatus that performs post-processing such as punch hole forming processing and binding processing on a sheet of paper or the like image-formed by the image forming apparatus. The present invention relates to a sheet stacking apparatus, a sheet post-processing apparatus including the same, and an image forming apparatus.
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus irradiates a peripheral surface of an image carrier (photosensitive drum) with light based on image information read from an original image or image information transmitted from an external device such as a computer. An electrostatic latent image is formed, toner is supplied from the developing device to the electrostatic latent image to form a toner image, and then the toner image is transferred to a sheet. The sheet after the transfer process is subjected to a toner image fixing process and then discharged from the sheet discharge unit onto a discharge tray.
In such an image forming apparatus, a sheet heated and pressed by a fixing process may be largely curled (rolled) depending on conditions. If the trailing edge of the sheet curls upward, the curled sheet closes the sheet discharge port, significantly impairing the alignment and stackability of the sheet discharged onto the discharge tray, and the previously stacked sheet in the discharge direction. There was also a risk of being pushed out and falling from the discharge tray.
In view of this, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-228867 avoids a collision with the paper stacked on the tray by lowering the standby position of the discharge tray when discharging special paper that may be curled. A sheet processing apparatus is disclosed.
Further, in
In the methods of
In this case, the upper surface of the sheet cannot be detected, and it cannot be determined how much the sheet is stacked on the discharge tray. If the sheets are stacked on the discharge tray until the upper surface can be detected, the trailing end of the curled sheet may block the sheet discharge port, and there is a possibility that the sheets collide. Therefore, it is necessary to request the user to remove the sheet on the discharge tray before the upper surface can be detected.
In view of the above problems, the present invention can reliably avoid a collision between an already ejected sheet and an ejected sheet even when the sheets are stacked on the sheet stacking unit in a state where the upper surface of the sheet cannot be detected. It is an object to provide a sheet stacking apparatus, a sheet post-processing apparatus including the sheet stacking apparatus, and an image forming apparatus.
In order to achieve the above object, a first configuration of the present invention includes a sheet discharge unit, a sheet stacking unit, a first detection mechanism, a driving device, a second detection mechanism, and a control unit. It is a loading device. The sheet discharge unit discharges the sheet. The sheet stacking unit can be moved up and down, and the sheets discharged from the sheet discharge unit are stacked. The first detection mechanism detects the sheet stacking unit or the upper surface of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit. The driving device includes a first stacking position in which a first stacking mechanism detects a sheet stacking unit or an upper surface of a sheet stacked on the sheet stacking unit, a first stacking position lowered by a predetermined distance from the top detection position, The sheet stacking unit is moved up and down between the second stacking position below the stacking position. The second detection mechanism detects that the sheet stacking unit is at the second stacking position. The control unit controls the discharge of the sheet from the sheet discharge unit and the elevation of the sheet stacking unit by the driving device. When continuously discharging the same type of sheet from the sheet discharge unit, the control unit raises the sheet stacking unit from the second stacking position to the upper surface detection position in advance, and the second stacking according to the rising time of the sheet stacking unit. The number of sheets that can be stacked in the sheet stacking unit arranged at the position is set. When the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking unit is the first sheet, the control unit stacks the sheet after moving the sheet stacking unit to the first stacking position. When the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking unit is a second sheet that is more easily curled than the first sheet, the control unit stacks the sheet after moving the sheet stacking unit to the second stacking position, When the number of sheets stacked on the stacking unit reaches the number of sheets that can be stacked, the sheet stacking unit is raised to the upper surface detection position, and when the ascending time of the sheet stacking unit is less than a predetermined time, the sheet is discharged from the sheet discharge unit. To stop.
According to the first configuration of the present invention, when the same type of sheets are continuously discharged from the sheet discharge unit, when the first sheet is selected, the sheet stacking unit is arranged at the first stacking position. When the second sheet that is easier to curl than the first sheet is selected, the sheet is stacked with the sheet stacking portion disposed at the second stacking position below the first stacking position. By doing so, it is possible to avoid a collision between the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking unit and the sheet discharged from the sheet discharge unit regardless of the curl amount of the sheet. Therefore, the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit are not pushed out in the discharge direction by the subsequent sheets, and it is possible to effectively prevent sheet misalignment and sheet dropping from the sheet stacking unit. In addition, the number of sheets that can be stacked in the sheet stacking unit disposed at the second stacking position is set according to the rising time of the sheet stacking unit from the second stacking position to the upper surface detection position. An appropriate stackable number of sheets can be set regardless of the amount, and the sheet stacking amount on the sheet stacking unit can be appropriately managed.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. First, an image forming system including the
As shown in FIG. 1, an image forming unit P that forms a monochrome image by each process of charging, exposure, development, and transfer is disposed in the main body of an image forming apparatus (for example, a monochrome multifunction device) 100.
In the image forming unit P, along the rotation direction of the photosensitive drum 1 (counterclockwise direction in FIG. 1), the
The
The
The developing
The
The
When performing a copy operation, the
A sheet is conveyed from the
The sheet that has passed through the fixing
FIG. 2 is a side sectional view of the sheet
The punch
A first
Further, below the first
A second

The
Next, the operation of the sheet
Then, the sheet is conveyed further downstream by the first
At the timing when the trailing edge of the sheet passes through the first
When the acceptance of one bundle of sheets is completed, the
When shift discharge is set, when the second
A
Further, the
FIG. 3 is a block diagram illustrating a control path of the image forming system including the
The upper
When the
When sheets are stacked on the

FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing an example of sheet stacking control in the
When the user inputs a print instruction from the operation unit 80 (see FIG. 3) or the personal computer setting screen (operation terminal), the
Note that the
Next, the
Here, in a state where the
Since the upper surface of the sheet is not detected by the
On the other hand, if N ≧ N1 (Yes in step S9), the
If T <T1 in step S11 (No in step S11), it is determined that the sheets on the
Note that whether or not the sheets stacked on the
When the paper stacked on the
On the other hand, if the type of paper notified in step S3 is not easy to curl (No in step S4), the normal stacking position (first stacking position) in which the
Next, the
Thereafter, the
By performing the control as described above, when a sheet that is easily curled is selected and the
When the number of discharged sheets reaches the stackable number, the
In addition, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment, A various change is possible in the range which does not deviate from the meaning of this invention. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the
In the above embodiment, the
