Description
犠牲コーティング用途に適切な種々の親水性ポリマーまたはコポリマーを選択した。
固体含有量が2%〜50%の溶液を、DI水を用いて調製した。ポリマー粉末(例えば、表1のリストから選択される3種類のポリマーの1つ)を、塊の生成を防ぐために攪拌を維持しつつ冷水に加えた。上述のポリマーの中で、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)、ヒドロキシエチルセルロースおよびメチルセルロースおよびポリアクリルアミドポリマーは、冷水に完全に溶解させることができるが、その他のものは、完全に溶解させるのに85℃〜98℃の範囲の温度まで加熱する必要な場合もある。材料のグレードおよび攪拌システムの効率に依存して、この調製は、ポリマーを水に完全に溶解させるのに数分〜数時間かかることがある。50重量%のポリビニルピロリドン、3重量%のポリ(エチレンオキシド)およびヒドロキシエチルセルロース、2重量%のメチルセルロースおよびポリアクリルアミドを調製した。
(実施例3A)
実施例3A−1:3gの50%ポリビニルピロリドン(重量平均分子量4,000〜6,000)溶液および5gのグリセロールを91gの脱イオン水に合わせ、混合することによって、犠牲コーティング溶液を調製した。次に、この混合物に1gのTergitol TMN−6を加え、100gの溶液を製造した。
実施例3B−1:3gの50%ポリビニルピロリドン(重量平均分子量4,000−6,000)溶液および2.5gのソルビトールを93.5gの脱イオン水に合わせ、混合することによって、犠牲コーティング溶液を調製した。次に、この混合物に1gのTergitol TMN−6を加え、100gの溶液を製造した。
実施例3C−1:15gの10%Celvol 103 PVOH溶液および5gのグリセロールを79gの脱イオン水に合わせ、混合することによって、犠牲コーティング溶液を調製した。次に、この混合物に1gのTergitol TMN−6を加え、100gの溶液を製造した。
実施例3D−1:3gの50%ポリビニルピロリドン(重量平均分子量4,000〜6,000)溶液および5gのグリセロールを91.8gの脱イオン水に合わせ、混合することによって、犠牲コーティング溶液を調製した。次に、この混合物に0.15gのTergitol 15−s−7および0.05gのSurfynol 420を加え、100gの溶液を製造した。
実施例3A−2および3B−2の犠牲コーティング溶液を、Pamarcoアニロックスロール165Q13を用い、手動でブランケット基材にコーティングした。
犠牲コーティングの上に良好な濡れ性および広がり性を有するインクを製造するために、連続した均一な膜が達成され、虹色が観察されることが望ましい。光学顕微鏡画像は、G621ブランケット基材にコーティングした膜について撮影した。
犠牲コーティングの上に生成するインク液滴によって、インクの濡れ性を特性決定することができる。コーティング膜の上のインクの接触角度および広がり性を、Fibro DAT1100装置を用いて捕捉した。実験室での実験用インクをこの測定に使用した。インク液滴の粒径を0.5μlに制御した。実験室での実験用インクのスキン面上での広がりは速すぎ、ほとんどのサンプルで接触角を捕捉することができないため、液滴の画像のみをここに示す。
親水性ポリマー(サンプル3A−6、3A−7、3A−8、3B−5および3B−7)を含む配合物でコーティングされたブランケットにエアブラシによって噴霧することによって、実験室の実験用インク−1および実験用インク−2を試験した。転写条件は、320°F、50psiおよび滞留時間5秒であった。製造された印刷物をDGEG紙基材に転写した。転写条件は、210°F、50psiおよび滞留時間5秒であった。インクを紙に転写した後、ブランケットに残留するインクは観察されなかった。
Claims (9)
- 間接的な印刷装置であって、
中間転写体と;
少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマー、
少なくとも1つの吸湿性可塑剤、
少なくとも1つの界面活性剤、および
水を含む、
前記中間転写体の上の犠牲コーティングと;
前記中間転写体の上に前記犠牲コーティングを生成するためのコーティング機構と;
前記犠牲コーティングを乾燥させるための乾燥ステーションと;
前記中間転写体に近接して配置され、前記中間転写体の上に作られた前記犠牲コーティングの上にインク液滴を吐出するように構成された、少なくとも1つのインクジェットノズルと;
前記中間転写体の上に作られた前記犠牲コーティングの上にあるインクを少なくとも部分的に乾燥させるように構成されたインク処理ステーションと;
前記中間転写体と接触させて基材を移動するための基材転写機構とを含む、間接的な印刷装置。 - 前記中間転写体が、ブランケットであり、前記犠牲コーティングが、前記ブランケットの主要な外側表面の少なくとも一部を覆う、請求項1に記載の間接的な印刷装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマーは、3000〜300,000の範囲の重量平均分子量を有する、請求項1に記載の間接的な印刷装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマーのDI水の溶液の20℃での粘度は、3cP〜800cPの範囲であり、前記溶液は、前記少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマーおよび前記DI水の合計重量に対して5重量%の親水性ポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の間接的な印刷装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマーが、ポリ(ビニルピロリドン)(PVP)、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、酢酸セルロース、ポリ(エチレングリコール)、ポリ(エチレングリコール)のコポリマー、ポリ(エチレングリコール)のジブロックコポリマー、ポリ(エチレングリコール)のトリブロックコポリマー、ポリビニルアルコール(PVOH)、PVOHのコポリマー、ポリアクリルアミド(PAM)、ポリ(N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド)(PNIPAM)、ポリ(アクリル酸)、ポリメタクリレート、アクリルポリマー、無水マレイン酸コポリマー、スルホン酸化ポリエステルおよびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の間接的な印刷装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの吸湿性可塑剤が、グリセロール、ソルビトール、エチレンビニルアルコールを含むビニルアルコール、プロピレングリコール、ヘキシレングリコール、ブチレングリコール、キシリトール、マルチトール、ポリデキストロースを含むポリマーポリオール、グリセリルトリアセテート、尿素、およびα−ヒドロキシ酸(AHA)からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の間接的な印刷装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの界面活性剤が、4〜14の範囲のHLB値を有するイオン系界面活性剤またはアニオン系界面活性剤を含む、請求項1に記載の間接的な印刷装置。
- 間接的な印刷プロセスであって、
中間転写体を含むインクジェット印刷装置にインク組成物を提供することと;
前記中間転写体に液体コーティング材料を塗布し、この液体コーティング材料が、
少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマー、
少なくとも1つの吸湿性可塑剤、
少なくとも1つの界面活性剤、および
水を含むことと;
前記液体コーティング材料を乾燥させ、犠牲コーティングを生成することと;
前記犠牲コーティングの上にインクの液滴を画像状のパターンになるように放出することと;
前記インクを少なくとも部分的に乾燥させ、前記中間転写体の上に実質的に乾燥したインクパターンを作成することと;
前記実質的に乾燥したインクパターンおよび前記犠牲コーティングを両方とも前記中間転写体から最終的な基材へと転写することとを含む、間接的な印刷プロセス。 - 前記少なくとも1つの親水性ポリマーが、ポリ(ビニルピロリドン)(PVP)、PVPのコポリマー、ポリ(エチレンオキシド)、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、酢酸セルロース、ポリ(エチレングリコール)、ポリ(エチレングリコール)のコポリマー、ポリ(エチレングリコール)のジブロックコポリマー、ポリ(エチレングリコール)のトリブロックコポリマー、ポリビニルアルコール(PVOH)、PVOHのコポリマー、ポリアクリルアミド(PAM)、ポリ(N−イソプロピルアクリルアミド)(PNIPAM)、ポリ(アクリル酸)、ポリメタクリレート、アクリルポリマー、無水マレイン酸コポリマー、スルホン酸化ポリエステルおよびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項8に記載の間接的な印刷プロセス。
