Description
The present invention relates to a sintering hardening method.
There is a powder metallurgy method as a technique for manufacturing a machine part having a relatively complicated shape. In this method, powder materials having various compositions including an iron-based material are pressure-molded into a desired shape, and the obtained molded body (green compact) is heated and sintered. A sintered body is manufactured through such molding and sintering steps.
For such a sintered body, for example, a technique called sinter hardening is used together with carburizing quenching and high-frequency heating in order to obtain a desired mechanical strength such as surface hardness (for example, patents). Reference 1). The sinter hardening method is a method in which a cooling gas such as nitrogen gas is blown onto the sintered body to quench the sintered body, and the advantage is that the green compact can be sintered and quenched continuously in one step. There is.
The conventional sinter hardening method is performed, for example, in a quenching chamber of a roller hearth type sintering furnace, which is partitioned on the front and rear sides by a partition door. At that time, in order to make the cooling by the cooling gas uniform, only one tray on which a plurality of sintered bodies (workpieces) are mounted is arranged on the transport roller.
However, since the distance between the cooling gas outlet and the plurality of sintered bodies is not uniform, it is difficult to uniformly cool all of the plurality of sintered bodies.
In addition, in order to improve the charge amount, measures to increase the cooling capacity by increasing the supply amount of cooling gas, or increase the throughput per unit area of the quenching chamber by using two-stage trays of one-stage product Can be considered.
However, when the sinter hardening process is performed with a two-stage product, the sintered body mounted on the lower tray tends to be insufficiently cooled, and the strength of the sintered body is reduced by, for example, about 10%. There is. Such a problem cannot be solved even if a tray having an opening through which cooling gas can pass downward is used. Although the surface of the sintered body mounted on the lower stage can be cooled by the cooling gas passing through the opening, it cannot be sufficiently cooled to the inside of the sintered body. For this reason, the lower-stage sintered body has less martensite inside the sintered body than the upper-stage sintered body, which is considered to lead to a decrease in strength.
This invention is made | formed in view of such a situation, and it aims at providing the sintering hardening method which can cool the some sintered compact mounted in the tray uniformly.

The quenching chamber 1 in this embodiment is located in the cooling zone of the roller hearth type sintering furnace, and the nitrogen gas G is blown to the sintered body W conveyed by the conveying

<Test Example 1 and Comparative Test Example 1>
Sinter hardening processing was carried out with a disk-shaped sintered body as shown in FIG. In Test Example 1, the sintering hardening process was performed while the tray on which the sintered body was mounted was swung, and in Comparative Test Example 1, the sintering hardening process was performed without rocking the tray. Thirty sintered bodies were mounted on the tray.
Nitrogen gas at 50 to 100 ° C. was supplied as a cooling gas to the sintered body to quench the sintered body. Upon cooling with nitrogen gas, in Test Example 1, the transport roller was rotated to swing the tray on which the sintered body was mounted back and forth. The peristaltic distance was 188 mm, and the peristaltic speed was 30 mm / s.
The surface layer hardness (HRA) and strength (kN) of the sintered body after the sintering hardening treatment were measured. Regarding the surface hardness, there was almost no difference between Test Example 1 and Comparative Test Example 1, and a difference was observed in strength (kN). The results are shown in Table 1.
From Table 1, it can be seen that the average strength is almost the same in the case of the peristalsis (Test Example 1) and in the case of the peristalsis (Comparative Test Example 1), but the strength variation is reduced by peristalsis. . This is considered to be because the cooling gas is sprayed more uniformly on the sintered body by moving the sintered body during the rapid cooling.
<Test Example 2 and Comparative Test Example 2>
Sinter hardening processing was performed by making a disk-shaped sintered body as shown in FIG. In Test Example 2, the sintering hardening process was performed while the tray on which the sintered body was mounted was swung. In Comparative Test Example 2, the sintering hardening process was performed without rocking the tray. Thirty sintered bodies were mounted on each tray.
Further, the sintered body was mounted on the tray so that the opening of the upper sintered body and the opening of the lower sintered body were displaced in the vertical direction. Spacers were arranged at the four corners of the lower tray, and the distance between the upper and lower trays was kept at 15 mm.
Nitrogen gas at 50 to 100 ° C. was supplied as a cooling gas to the sintered body to quench the sintered body. Upon cooling with nitrogen gas, the transport roller was rotated to swing the tray on which the sintered body was mounted back and forth. The peristaltic distance was 188 mm, and the peristaltic speed was 30 mm / s.
The surface layer hardness (HRA) and strength (kN) of the sintered body after the sintering hardening treatment were measured. Regarding the surface hardness, there was almost no difference between Test Example 2 and Comparative Test Example 2, and a difference in strength (kN) was observed. The results are shown in Table 2.
From Table 2, the average strength of the upper tray is almost the same in the case of peristating (Test Example 1) and in the case of not perturbing (Comparative Test Example 1). I understand that. This is considered to be because the cooling gas is sprayed more uniformly on the sintered body by moving the sintered body during the rapid cooling.
In addition, it can be seen that the lower tray is greatly improved in average strength by swinging, and the variation in strength is also reduced. This is considered to be because the cooling gas is sprayed more uniformly on the sintered body by moving the sintered body during the rapid cooling. In addition to this, since the position of the opening of the upper sintered body and the position of the opening of the lower sintered body are shifted vertically, the cooling gas is uniformly supplied to the sintered body. This is thought to be because of this.
