Description
The present invention relates to a sphere rotation mechanism suitable for all-surface inspection and all-surface treatment of various spheres, and a sphere surface inspection apparatus using the sphere rotation mechanism. The sphere surface inspection apparatus of the present invention is suitable for the surface quality inspection of spheres used for bearings and the like, particularly ceramic spheres.
In recent years, in the fields of wind power generation, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and the like, spheres made of ceramics such as silicon nitride have been used as spherical friction reducing members in sliding parts such as bearings and ball nuts. These ceramic spheres are said to be semi-permanent in some applications, with high strength and markedly superior wear resistance compared to conventionally used steel balls. In addition, applications are dramatically expanding due to its light weight, high insulation, and excellent corrosion resistance.
The problem with ceramic spheres is that, in addition to the high price, there are relatively many defective products due to the manufacturing process. That is, the ceramic sphere is manufactured by a powder sintering method, but a dent is easily formed on the surface of the sphere due to the powder filling state in the mold. Ceramic spheres manufactured by the powder sintering method are subjected to surface polishing to become products, but if a dent deeper than the polishing allowance is formed on the surface, the ceramic spheres are not removed because they are not removed by surface polishing. It is excluded as a good product.
Surface inspection is performed to exclude defective ceramic spheres manufactured by the powder sintering method. This surface inspection is generally performed visually, but automation is also considered. A typical automatic surface inspection apparatus uses an image processing technique as described in
In the automatic surface inspection apparatus described in
An object of the present invention is to provide a sphere rotation mechanism that can stably support a sphere at a fixed position and rotate the sphere without excess or deficiency.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a spherical surface inspection that enables rapid and accurate image inspection, visual inspection, etc. of the entire surface by rotating the sphere, which is the specimen, stably at a fixed position and without excess or deficiency. To provide an apparatus.
In order to achieve the above object, the sphere rotation mechanism of the present invention includes four sphere support spheres that are combined in a square shape on a plane so that the spheres to be rotated are placed on the combination center, and four sphere support spheres. A retainer that rotatably holds the spherical support balls in a combined state, and the spherical support balls that are placed on the four spherical support balls held by the retainer and that are in contact with the spherical support balls from below A driving mechanism for rotating the spherical support sphere in two directions along the plane.
In the sphere rotation mechanism of the present invention, the sphere is stably placed on the combination center portion of the four sphere support spheres held in a square shape on the plane by the retainer. On the other hand, the driving mechanism comes into contact with these sphere support balls from under the four sphere support balls, and rotates the four sphere support balls in two directions along the plane. As a result, the sphere placed on the center of the combination of the four sphere support spheres rotates in two directions along the plane at a fixed position, and the entire surface is, for example, an upper surface inspection camera or surface treatment It can be directed to equipment. As a result, it is possible to perform image inspection, visual inspection, surface treatment, etc. of the entire surface with high accuracy and speed.
The sphere surface inspection apparatus of the present invention is a sphere surface inspection apparatus that inspects the surface of the sphere from above while rotating the sphere as a specimen at a fixed position, and the sphere is placed on a combination center portion. Four sphere support spheres combined in a quadrilateral shape on a plane, a retainer that rotatably holds the four sphere support spheres in a combined state, and four sphere support spheres held by the retainer A driving mechanism that contacts the sphere support balls from below in a state where the spheres are placed, and rotates the sphere support balls in two directions along the plane.
In the sphere surface inspection device of the present invention, the sphere is stably placed on the combination center of the four sphere support spheres held in a square shape on the plane by the retainer. On the other hand, the driving mechanism comes into contact with these sphere support balls from under the four sphere support balls, and rotates the four sphere support balls in two directions along the plane. As a result, the sphere placed on the combination center portion of the four sphere support spheres rotates in two directions along the plane at a fixed position, and the entire surface can be directed to the upper surface inspection camera or the like. It becomes possible.
About the combination form of the four sphere support spheres held by the retainer, if it is a quadrangle such as a square, a rectangle, a rhombus, etc., the sphere can be supported and rotated in two directions. In order to enable accurate support and rotation of the sphere, four sphere support spheres are combined into a rectangle, preferably a square, and moved in two directions parallel to two orthogonal sides of the rectangle or square. It is preferable to use a Y table as a drive mechanism. By doing so, the amount of linear movement in the two directions of the XY table coincides with the rotational circumference in the two directions of the sphere, and the rotation control of the sphere becomes easy. Further, by rotating the sphere in two orthogonal directions, the entire surface of the sphere can be directed upward with less rotation. In particular, since the square can support the sphere equally in both directions, the balance and stability of the support and rotation are excellent.
When the lower sphere is photographed by the camera, the photographable range is S / 4, where S is the circumference of the sphere. Therefore, in order to photograph the entire surface of the sphere, it is preferable to employ the following sphere rotation pattern. First, the sphere is rotated once in one direction in the X-Y direction, then rotated in a quarter direction in the other direction, and in this state, rotated in one direction in one direction, and then rotated in the other direction by one quarter. In this state, one rotation is performed in one direction, and then another 1/4 rotation is performed in the other direction. In this state, one rotation is performed in one direction. In other words, the entire surface of the sphere is photographed four times at S / 4 times. As a result, the entire surface of the sphere can be imaged with the minimum rotational motion of the sphere, and the imaging time can be shortened, thereby improving the inspection efficiency.
The retainer is rationally configured to position and hold the four sphere support spheres at respective fixed positions in a state where the lower portions protrude downward. As a material of the sphere support sphere, in order to suppress wear due to contact with the sphere, a material having wear resistance equal to or higher than that of the sphere material is preferable, and a ceramic sphere is recommended from this viewpoint.
For handling the sphere, a sphere holder that rotatably supports the sphere in a fixed position with its lower part protruding downward is placed on the retainer, so that the sphere is placed on the center of the combination of the four sphere support spheres. It is reasonable that the sphere is transferred.
For illumination when the surface of the sphere is photographed from above, it is preferable to illuminate with a pair of illumination devices at a low angle from the diagonally upper sides on both sides, specifically, a small depression angle of 5 to 25 degrees. According to such illumination from low angles on both sides, the light travels along the surface of the sphere, and not only halation does not occur, but also the shading due to the dent on the surface becomes clear, and the detection accuracy of the dent improves.
The sphere rotation mechanism of the present invention rotates and supports the sphere to be rotated through four sphere support spheres and rotates the sphere without excess or deficiency while stably supporting the sphere at a fixed position. Therefore, it is possible to perform image inspection and visual inspection of the entire surface with high accuracy and speed, or various surface treatments including spraying and coating.
The sphere surface inspection apparatus of the present invention supports and rotates the sphere through four sphere support balls when performing image inspection and visual inspection from above while rotating the sphere as a specimen at a fixed position. By doing so, it is possible to rotate the sphere without excess or deficiency while stably supporting the sphere at a fixed position, so that the entire surface can be inspected with high accuracy and speed. In particular, by rotating the spheres at a fixed position, even if multiple spheres are arranged in parallel, they can be accommodated within the field of view of the camera, so multiple spheres can be imaged simultaneously in parallel. Thus, the inspection efficiency can be further improved.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
The sphere surface inspection apparatus of this embodiment is a sphere surface inspection apparatus used for surface property inspection before polishing finishing of ceramic spheres used for a bearing or the like that supports a propeller of a wind power generation facility. The ceramic sphere, which is a specimen, is a silicon nitride powder sintered body, and after the sintering, the surface is polished to obtain a product. The spherical surface inspection apparatus of the present embodiment is used for the surface property inspection of the sintered body before polishing manufactured by sintering, and specifically, the surface depression specific to the powder sintered sphere, in particular, the polishing amount. It is used to detect a dent with a depth greater than that.
As shown in FIG. 1, the sphere surface inspection apparatus according to the present embodiment collects image data about the entire surface of the
While the
The inspection station S1, which is the first mechanical system, is an example of a sphere rotation mechanism of the present invention. As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the inspection station S <b> 1 is a combination of four
The
That is, the
The four support
Each support
In order to reduce friction by reducing the contact area with the
The
As shown in FIG. 8, the
The
That is, the
A thin friction member made of rubber or the like is attached to the upper surface of the
The

The sorting station S2, which is the second mechanical system, is a part that divides the
The
Next, the operation and function of the spherical surface inspection apparatus of this embodiment will be described.
As shown in FIG. 8, the
Here, the range in the X direction (lateral direction) in which the
When the
When the first step ends, as the second step, the
Hereinafter, similarly, the
Thus, the entire surface of the
If shooting is performed while following the same path when the
Here, illumination when the surface of the
The sphere surface inspection apparatus according to the above embodiment is configured to inspect one
If two
When inspecting a plurality of
