Description
The present invention relates to a positive electrode mixture and an all solid-state lithium-sulfur battery.
Sulfur is known to have a very high theoretical capacity of about 1672 mAh / g, and lithium sulfur batteries using sulfur as a positive electrode active material have been actively studied.
Lithium-sulfur batteries are roughly classified into liquid lithium-sulfur batteries that use liquid electrolytes as electrolytes and all-solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries that use solid electrolytes.
In the liquid type lithium-sulfur battery, lithium polysulfide produced by the reaction between lithium ions and sulfur is dissolved in the electrolyte solution, which adversely affects the charge / discharge capacity and life of the battery.
S+2Li++2e− ⇔ Li2S (1)
On the other hand, the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery is suitable for maintaining the charge / discharge capacity of the battery and extending its life because there is no problem that lithium polysulfide dissolves into the electrolyte solution. In addition, attention has been focused on the excellent characteristics of all-solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries, such as the absence of flammable organic solvents, which ensures safety without the risk of liquid leakage or ignition, and the need for a separator. ing.
In the positive electrode mixture layer of the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery, among the reversible reactions represented by the following formula (1), a rightward reaction during discharge and a leftward reaction during charging proceed in a dominant manner.
S + 2Li + + 2e − ⇔ Li 2 S (1)
However, in the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery, the negative electrode, the solid electrolyte layer, and the positive electrode mixture layer substantially contain no solvent, and the sulfur contained in the positive electrode mixture layer as the positive electrode active material is electrically insulating. Therefore, the electronic conductivity and lithium ion conductivity in the positive electrode mixture layer are very low. For this reason, the reactivity of the reaction shown in the above formula (1) is poor at the time of charge / discharge, and there is a problem that a sufficient charge / discharge capacity cannot be secured.
However, in fact, the all-solid-state lithium battery electrode material described in
That is, in the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery provided with the conventional positive electrode mixture layer, it is still necessary to improve the charge / discharge capacity, and the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery that can withstand the use at a practical high current at present. In order to realize this, there was a problem that the excellent physical properties of sulfur could not be fully utilized.
An object of the present invention is to provide a positive electrode mixture that can be suitably used for a positive electrode mixture layer of an all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery having an excellent charge / discharge capacity by making the best use of the excellent physical properties of sulfur. And Moreover, it aims at providing the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery provided with the positive electrode compound material layer containing the said positive electrode compound material.
The inventors of the present invention have made various studies on the positive electrode mixture used for the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery. In the positive electrode mixture obtained by mixing the ion conductive substance and sulfur and / or the discharge product thereof with the conductive material. By using (A) an ion conductive material containing phosphorus with a specific content (weight ratio) as the ion conductive material, and using a specific amount of (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product, sulfur The resistance (reaction resistance) when electrons and lithium ions react at the reaction interface can be reduced, and (C1) by using a conductive material having a specific specific surface area and average particle diameter as the conductive material, (B) Since the reaction point between sulfur and / or its discharge product and (C) the conductive material is increased, the reactivity of the reaction represented by the above formula (1) is improved. of Discharge capacity, particularly new finding that the charge-discharge capacity which was obtained by applying a high current is increased to obtain, and accomplished the present invention based on this finding.

In the positive electrode composite of the present invention, the component (A) includes P x S y (where x and y independently represent an integer giving a stoichiometric ratio), and / or Li and S It is preferable that it is a compound of P and P.

The all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode mixture layer including the positive electrode mixture of the present invention, a solid electrolyte layer, a negative electrode, and a current collector.
The positive electrode composite of the present invention comprises (A) an ion conductive material containing phosphorus at a specific content (weight ratio), a specific amount of (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product, and (C) a conductive material. Since (C1) includes a conductive material having a specific specific surface area and average particle size as a material, sulfur, electrons, and lithium ions react at the reaction interface when used as a positive electrode mixture layer of an all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery. Resistance (reaction resistance) is small, and the reaction point between (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product and (C1) conductive material can be increased, and as a result, all the charge / discharge characteristics are excellent. A solid-state lithium-sulfur battery can be provided. In particular, low current (e.g., 0.5~1.0mA / cm 2 or so) of course when used in, has a high charge and discharge capacity even when used at a high current (e.g., 5 mA / cm 2 or higher) In this respect, the positive electrode composite of the present invention is excellent.
Moreover, since the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery of this invention is equipped with the positive mix layer containing the positive mix of this invention, it is excellent in a charge / discharge characteristic.
<< Positive electrode mixture >>
First, the positive electrode mixture of the present invention will be described.
The positive electrode mixture of the present invention is a positive electrode mixture used for the positive electrode mixture layer of an all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery, and (A) an ion conductive material containing phosphorus at a specific content (weight ratio), (B ) Sulfur and / or discharge products thereof, and (C) a conductive material containing (C1) a specific specific surface area and a conductive material having an average particle diameter, and the content of the component (B) is It is 40 weight% or more of the total amount of (A) component, said (B) component, and said (C) component, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
First, the components (A) to (C) used for producing the positive electrode mixture will be described.
<(A) Ion conductive material>
The (A) ion conductive material functions as a solid electrolyte in the positive electrode mixture, contains phosphorus, and has a phosphorus weight ratio of 0.2 to 0.55.
In the positive electrode mixture of the present invention, it is extremely important to use an ion conductive material containing phosphorus and having a phosphorus weight ratio of 0.2 to 0.55 as the ion conductive material (A). By using such an ion conductive material, as described above, in the positive electrode mixture layer, the resistance (reaction resistance) when sulfur, electrons and lithium ions react at the reaction interface can be reduced. The charge / discharge capacity of the all solid-state lithium-sulfur battery can be improved.
On the other hand, in the ion conductive material (A), when the weight ratio of phosphorus is less than 0.2 or more than 0.55, when used in an all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery, it flows or discharges during charging. Depending on the magnitude of the current value that flows sometimes, sufficient charge / discharge capacity cannot be ensured. In this regard, when the weight ratio of phosphorus exceeds 0.55, the interaction from phosphorus to sulfur is too large, so the influence of sulfur deactivation is increased, and the charge / discharge capacity is considered to decrease.
It is preferable that the weight ratio of phosphorus in the (A) ion conductive material is 0.232 to 0.500.
Specific examples of the (A) ion conductive material include, for example, a compound represented by P x S y (where x and y independently represent an integer giving a stoichiometric ratio), Li And a compound of S, P and the like. These (A) ion conductive materials may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
In the present invention, the “composite” is not simply a mixture of predetermined components, but mechanical, thermal, or chemical energy is added to a mixture of predetermined components, and A chemical reaction that has occurred in whole or in part.
In this specification, “composite” does not mean simply mixing predetermined components, but by adding mechanical, thermal, or chemical energy to a mixture of predetermined components. It causes chemical reaction to all or a part of the components.
As a composite of Li, S and P, a composite obtained by mechanical milling treatment of Li 2 S, S and P, or Li 2 S and P x S y (where x and y are , Independently representing an integer giving a stoichiometric ratio) and a composite obtained by mechanical milling.
The reason is that bonds can be easily rearranged by mechanical milling, and an amorphous ion conductive material can be obtained.
The composite of Li 2 S and P x S y may further contain a lithium salt or lithium nitride.
Is not particularly restricted but includes lithium salt, for example, Li 3 PO 4, Li 4
Although not particularly restricted but includes lithium nitride, for example,
If the (A) the ion conductive material is a composite compound of the Li 2 S and P x S y, Li of the composite product, when the total amount of Li 2 S and P x S y is 100 The molar ratio of 2 S is not particularly limited as long as (A) the ion conductive substance contains 0.2 to 0.55 phosphorus by weight.
As a method for obtaining a composite of Li 2 S and P x S y , mechanical milling treatment is preferable as described above. As a specific example of mechanical milling treatment, for example, using a planetary ball mill, a rotation speed of 150 to The method etc. which process for 0.5 to 20 hours at 500 rpm and revolution speed 200-1000 rpm (autorotation and reverse rotation) are mentioned.
It can be confirmed by Raman spectroscopy whether Li 2 S and P x S y are combined or Li 2 S and P x S y are simply mixed. For example, in the case of a composite of Li 2 S and P 2 S 5 , the 300 cm −1 peak derived from P 2 S 5, which is the raw material used for the composite, disappears, or the main peak near 400 cm −1. Therefore, it can be confirmed that Li 2 S and P 2 S 5 are combined.
<(B) Sulfur and / or its discharge product>
Said (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product function as a positive electrode active material in the said positive electrode compound material.
As the sulfur, single sulfur or the like can be used.
No particular limitation is imposed on the discharge product of the sulfur, for example, lithium polysulphides of Li 2 S 8, Li 2 S 4, Li 2
In the positive electrode mixture of the present invention, the content of (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product is (A) ion conductive material, (B) sulfur and its discharge product, and (C) conductive material. Is 40% by weight or more of the total amount.
When the content of the component (B) is less than 40% by weight of the total amount of the components (A) to (C) described above, a certain amount of charge / discharge capacity (for example, 200 mAh / per positive electrode mixture) when a low current is applied. g or more) can be ensured, but the charge / discharge capacity when a high current is passed is insufficient.
The content of the (B) sulfur and / or discharge product thereof is 50 weight of the total amount of (A) ion conductive material, (B) sulfur and / or discharge product thereof, and (C) conductive material. % Or more is preferable.
Moreover, it is preferable that content of the said (B) component is 70 weight% or less of the total amount of (A)-(C) component mentioned above. When the content of the component (B) exceeds 70% by weight of the total amount of the components (A) to (C), the content of the (A) ion conductive material and the (C) conductive material becomes small, and the charge / discharge efficiency May decrease.
<(C) Conductive material>
The (C) conductive material includes at least a conductive material having a (C1) specific surface area of 1800 m 2 / g or more and an average particle diameter of 0.2 to 200 μm.
The material of the (C1) conductive material is not particularly limited as long as the specific surface area is 1800 m 2 / g or more and the average particle diameter is 0.2 to 200 μm, and examples thereof include activated carbon and graphene. .
In these, since the effect that charging / discharging capacity improves can be enjoyed notably, it is preferable to use activated carbon.
The conductive material (C1) has a specific surface area of 1800 m 2 / g or more. When the specific surface area is less than 1800 m 2 / g, the reaction point between the (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product and the (C) conductive material cannot be increased sufficiently, and therefore the charge / discharge capacity is The effect of improving cannot be fully enjoyed.
The specific surface area of the (C1) conductive material is preferably 2000 m 2 / g or more, more preferably 3000 m 2 / g or more, since the effect of improving the charge / discharge capacity can be remarkably enjoyed. preferable.
On the other hand, the preferable upper limit of the specific surface area of the (C1) conductive material is 6000 m 2 / g.
In the present invention, the specific surface area means a BET specific surface area determined by the Brenauer-Emmet-Telle (BET) method. Specifically, a sample of (C1) conductive material or (C2) conductive material described later is liquid nitrogen. The specific surface area determined using a nitrogen adsorption isotherm obtained by adsorbing nitrogen gas to a sample under temperature.
As a measuring device for obtaining the BET specific surface area, for example, an automatic specific surface area / pore distribution measuring device (BELSORP-mini II manufactured by Nippon Bell Co., Ltd.) can be used.
The (C1) conductive material has an average particle diameter of 0.2 to 200 μm.
When the average particle diameter is less than 0.2 μm, it becomes difficult to handle such as being easily scattered, and when it exceeds 200 μm, dispersibility in the positive electrode mixture may be deteriorated and charge / discharge capacity may be reduced.
In this specification, the average particle diameter means a volume average particle diameter measured by a laser diffraction method.
In addition to the (C1) conductive material, the component (C) further includes (C2) graphite, acetylene black, furnace black (for example, furnace black having a hollow shell structure), carbon nanotubes, and carbon fibers. It may include at least one conductive material selected.
The reason for this is that (C1) when the conductivity of the conductive material is low, by further including (C2) a conductive material having a high conductivity, the electron conductivity in the positive electrode mixture is improved, so that the charge / discharge capacity is reduced. This is because there are cases where it can be further improved.
The furnace black having a hollow shell structure is a kind of conductive furnace black and has a hollow shell structure with a porosity of about 60 to 80%. Here, the “hollow shell structure” refers to a structure in which graphite crystals are thinly gathered to form an outer shell in the form of particles and have voids inside the outer shell. As furnace black which has the said hollow shell structure, ketjen black (made by Lion Corporation) etc. are mentioned, for example.
When the (C) conductive material further contains the (C2) conductive material in addition to the (C1) conductive material, the content ratio ((C1) component: (C2) component) based on its weight is 9. It is preferably 5: 0.5 to 5: 5. The reason is that the reaction shown in the above formula (1) is increased by increasing the content ratio of the (C1) conductive material, which has a large specific surface area and can take many reaction points with the (B) sulfur and / or its discharge products. It is because it can promote more.
In the positive electrode mixture of the present invention, (A) an ion conductive material, (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product, and (C) the content ratio of each component of the conductive material based on the weight (component (A): (B) component: (C) component) is preferably 10 to 50:40 to 70: 5 to 25.
(A) If the content ratio of the ion conductive material is smaller than the above range, the amount of lithium ions that can move to the positive electrode may decrease and a sufficient charge / discharge capacity may not be obtained. (C) The content of the conductive material is reduced, and the charge / discharge capacity per positive electrode mixture may be reduced.
In addition, when the content ratio of (C) the conductive material is smaller than the above range, the amount of electrons that can move to the positive electrode may be reduced, and a sufficient charge / discharge capacity may not be obtained. A) The content of the ion conductive material is decreased, and the charge / discharge capacity per positive electrode mixture may be decreased.
Thus, in the positive electrode mixture of the present invention, (A) an ion conductive material containing phosphorus with a specific content (weight ratio) is used and a specific amount of (B) sulfur and / or its discharge product. In addition, it is extremely important to use (C) a conductive material having a specific surface area and an average particle diameter as the conductive material (C).

<Method for producing all solid-state lithium-sulfur battery>
The method for producing the all solid-state lithium-sulfur battery is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include the following methods.
First, a solid electrolyte is sandwiched between a negative electrode current collector and a positive electrode current collector and pressed to produce a solid electrolyte layer. Next, a positive electrode mixture is deposited on one side of the solid electrolyte layer, and both ends thereof are sandwiched between a current collector (a negative electrode current collector on the solid electrolyte layer side and a positive electrode current collector on the positive electrode mixture side), and pressed. A positive electrode mixture layer and a positive electrode current collector are laminated on one surface of the electrolyte layer, and a negative electrode current collector is laminated on the other surface of the solid electrolyte layer. Finally, once remove the negative electrode current collector, put the negative electrode on the side opposite to the positive electrode mixture layer side of the solid electrolyte layer, and further press the negative electrode current collector on the negative electrode side and press the other side of the solid electrolyte layer A negative electrode and a negative electrode current collector are stacked on the surface. Moreover, it may be pressed one layer at a time as described above, or two or more layers may be deposited, and a plurality of layers may be pressed together and laminated. By such a method, an all solid-state lithium-sulfur battery can be produced.

4). Production of an all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery A cylindrical jig made of SUS304 (10 mmΦ,
Next, the cylindrical jig (positive electrode current collector) made of SUS304 inserted from the upper side was once extracted, and the positive electrode produced in Examples 1 to 28 and Comparative Examples 1 to 8 on the solid electrolyte layer in the polycarbonate cylindrical tube. Insert the compound material to a sulfur weight of 3.75 mg, insert a SUS304 cylindrical jig (positive electrode current collector) from the upper side again, and press it at a pressure of 200 MPa for 3 minutes. A 0.1 mm positive electrode mixture layer was formed.
Next, a cylindrical jig made of SUS304 (negative electrode current collector) inserted from the lower side was extracted, and a lithium sheet (manufactured by Furuuchi Chemical Co., Ltd.) having a thickness of 0.25 mm was punched as a negative electrode to a diameter of 8 mmΦ with a punch. A 0.3mm-thick indium sheet (Furuuchi Chemical Co., Ltd.) punched to 9mmφ in diameter with a punch, and placed on the bottom of a polycarbonate cylindrical tube jig. A tool (negative electrode current collector) was inserted and pressed at 80 MPa for 3 minutes to form a lithium-indium alloy negative electrode. As described above, an all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery in which the negative electrode current collector, the lithium-indium alloy negative electrode, the solid electrolyte layer, the positive electrode mixture layer, and the positive electrode current collector were stacked in this order from the bottom was produced.
