Description
The present invention relates to a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine operated using gaseous fuel.
As a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine operated using gaseous fuel, a tank for storing gaseous fuel in a compressed state, a fuel injection valve for injecting gaseous fuel supplied from the tank through a fuel passage, and a middle of the fuel passage And a regulator that adjusts the pressure of the gaseous fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve in accordance with the operating state of the internal combustion engine (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
By the way, in the fuel injection device of the internal combustion engine configured as described above, the fuel pressure in the tank becomes higher than the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator, so the gaseous fuel is returned from the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to the tank. I can't. Therefore, even when the fuel passage is blocked by the regulator when the fuel cut operation is started, the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator is maintained at the pressure at the start of the fuel cut operation. Therefore, the internal combustion engine shifts from an operation state with a high target fuel pressure (for example, a high load operation state) to a fuel cut operation state, and thereafter, an operation state with a low target fuel pressure from the fuel cut operation state (for example, a low load operation state). ), The fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator at the end of the fuel cut operation becomes excessively higher than the target fuel pressure suitable for the operation state after the end of the fuel cut operation. If the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator is excessively higher than the target fuel pressure, it becomes difficult to inject an amount of gaseous fuel from the fuel injection valve commensurate with the operating state of the internal combustion engine. There is a possibility that the stability is lowered or the exhaust emission is deteriorated. Therefore, it is desirable to reduce the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator before the fuel cut operation ends.
In response to the above requirements, when the fuel cut operation condition is satisfied, the fuel injection by the fuel injection valve is continued while the fuel passage is blocked by the regulator, and the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator becomes sufficiently low. A method of stopping fuel injection by the fuel injection valve at the time point or a method of injecting gaseous fuel from the fuel injection valve during the fuel cut operation is conceivable. However, according to these methods, the substantial execution period of the fuel cut operation may be shortened, or the fuel cut operation may not be substantially performed.
The present invention has been made in view of various circumstances as described above, and an object of the present invention is to perform a fuel-cut operation of an internal combustion engine in a fuel injection device of an internal combustion engine operated using gaseous fuel. Another object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of reducing the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator without fuel injection by the fuel injection valve.
In order to solve the above-described problem, the present invention provides an internal combustion engine in which the pressure of gaseous fuel supplied from a tank to a fuel injection valve through a fuel passage is adjusted to a target fuel pressure according to the operating state of the internal combustion engine by a regulator. In the fuel injection device, the fuel pressure in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator is lowered by allowing the gaseous fuel remaining in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to escape to the sub chamber when the fuel cut operation is performed.
More specifically, the present invention relates to a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine that is operated using gaseous fuel, a tank that stores gaseous fuel in a compressed state, and fuel that injects gaseous fuel into an intake passage or a cylinder. An injection valve, a fuel passage for guiding the gaseous fuel stored in the tank to the fuel injection valve, and a pressure of the gaseous fuel provided in the middle of the fuel passage and supplied to the fuel injection valve. A regulator for adjusting the target fuel pressure according to the operating state, a first pressure sensor for measuring the pressure in the passage, which is the pressure of the gaseous fuel in the fuel passage downstream of the regulator, and a fuel passage downstream of the regulator The connected sub-chamber, the second pressure sensor for measuring the sub-chamber pressure, which is the pressure in the sub-chamber, and the conduction or blocking between the fuel passage downstream from the regulator and the sub-chamber are switched. The pressure in the passage during the execution of a fuel cut operation that temporarily shuts off the fuel passage by the regulator and temporarily stops the injection of gaseous fuel by the fuel injection valve during operation of the internal combustion engine. And a control device that controls the pressure reducing valve so that the fuel passage downstream of the regulator and the sub chamber communicate with each other if the pressure is higher than the sub chamber pressure.
According to the fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine of the present invention, when the fuel cut operation is performed, if the pressure in the passage is higher than the pressure in the sub chamber, the pressure reducing valve is connected so that the fuel passage and the sub chamber are connected. Be controlled. In that case, since the gaseous fuel moves from the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to the sub chamber, the fuel pressure (in-passage pressure) in the fuel passage downstream from the regulator decreases. Therefore, the pressure in the passage can be reduced without fuel injection by the fuel injection valve. As a result, the combustion stability of the internal combustion engine after the end of the fuel cut operation is reduced while suppressing the substantial execution period of the fuel cut operation from being shortened and the fuel cut operation from being substantially not executed. And deterioration of exhaust emission can be suppressed.
Here, when the pressure in the passage at the time of executing the fuel cut operation is higher than the pressure in the sub chamber, if the pressure in the passage is not more than a predetermined pressure corresponding to the target fuel pressure at the time of idle operation, The pressure reducing valve may be controlled so that the fuel passage downstream from the regulator and the sub chamber are shut off. According to such a configuration, even when the pressure in the passage during the fuel cut operation is higher than the pressure in the sub chamber, if the pressure in the passage is equal to or lower than the predetermined pressure, the fuel downstream from the regulator The passage and the sub chamber are not connected to each other. Further, when the pressure in the passage at the time of executing the fuel cut operation is higher than the predetermined pressure and the pressure in the sub chamber, the pressure reducing valve is controlled so that the fuel passage downstream from the regulator and the sub chamber are connected. However, when the pressure in the passage subsequently drops below the predetermined pressure, even if the pressure in the passage at that time is higher than the pressure in the sub chamber at the same time, the fuel passage downstream from the regulator and the sub chamber Will be cut off. In these cases, the pressure in the passage at the end of the fuel cut operation is equal to or less than the target fuel pressure at the time of the idle operation. It can be avoided that the combustion stability of the internal combustion engine is lowered after the completion or the exhaust emission is deteriorated.
When the pressure reducing valve is controlled so that the fuel passage downstream from the regulator is connected to the sub chamber during the fuel cut operation, before the pressure in the passage decreases below the predetermined pressure, There is also a possibility that the pressure in the passage and the pressure in the sub chamber are in an equilibrium state (a state in which the passage pressure and the pressure in the sub chamber are equal). In such a case, the pressure reducing valve may be closed when the pressure in the passage and the pressure in the sub chamber are in an equilibrium state. When the pressure reducing valve is controlled in this way, the pressure in the passage cannot be reduced to the predetermined pressure, but the pressure in the passage at the end of the fuel cut operation is at least lower than the pressure in the passage at the start of the fuel cut operation. can do. Therefore, even if the internal combustion engine is operated at a low load after the end of the fuel cut operation, the difference between the pressure in the passage and the target fuel pressure suitable for the operating state after the end of the fuel cut operation is reduced. As a result, it is suppressed that the combustion stability of the internal combustion engine is significantly lowered or the exhaust emission is greatly deteriorated after the fuel cut operation is completed.
By the way, as described above, when the fuel passage downstream of the regulator is connected to the sub chamber when the fuel cut operation is performed, the pressure in the passage decreases while the pressure in the sub chamber increases. . If the next fuel cut operation is performed in a state where the pressure in the sub chamber is increased, the pressure in the passage may not be higher than the pressure in the sub chamber. Further, even if the pressure in the passage becomes higher than the pressure in the sub chamber when the next fuel cut operation is executed, the difference between the two pressures may be reduced. In those cases, when the next fuel cut operation is executed, the pressure in the passage cannot be reduced, or the reduction margin of the pressure in the passage may be reduced.
Therefore, the control device of the present invention is configured such that when the fuel cut operation is not executed (when the internal combustion engine is in an operation state in which gaseous fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve), the pressure in the passage is greater than the pressure in the sub chamber. If low, the pressure reducing valve may be controlled so that the fuel passage and the sub chamber are connected. According to such a configuration, when the fuel cut operation is not performed, the sub-chamber pressure can be reduced by returning the gaseous fuel in the sub-chamber to the fuel passage. For this reason, when the next fuel cut operation is performed, it is difficult to cause a situation in which the pressure in the passage cannot be reduced or a reduction amount of the pressure in the passage is reduced. The gaseous fuel returned from the sub chamber to the fuel passage is injected from the fuel injection valve. In short, the gaseous fuel moved from the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to the sub chamber when the fuel cut operation is executed is returned from the sub chamber to the fuel passage when the subsequent fuel cut operation is not executed. Thus, the fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve. Therefore, unnecessary consumption of the gaseous fuel moved from the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to the sub chamber during execution of the fuel cut operation is suppressed, and deterioration of the fuel consumption rate can be suppressed.
Next, the fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention further includes a purge passage that connects the intake passage of the internal combustion engine and the sub chamber, and a purge valve that switches between conduction and blocking of the purge passage. Also good. In such a configuration, the control device is configured such that when the fuel cut operation is not performed and the fuel passage and the sub chamber are shut off, the pressure in the sub chamber is greater than the pressure in the intake passage. If higher, the purge valve may be controlled so that the purge passage is conducted. Here, the purge passage may be connected to a portion upstream of the throttle valve in the intake passage, or may be connected to a portion downstream of the throttle valve.
According to such a configuration, when the fuel cut operation is not performed and the fuel passage and the sub chamber are shut off, the gaseous fuel in the sub chamber moves to the intake passage. The sub-chamber pressure can be reduced to a pressure equivalent to the pressure in the intake passage. Here, since the pressure in the passage during the operation of the internal combustion engine is sufficiently higher than the intake pressure, when the sub-chamber pressure is reduced to the pressure in the intake passage, the next fuel cut operation is performed. Thus, the difference between the pressure in the passage and the pressure in the sub chamber can be increased, and accordingly, a reduction margin of the pressure in the passage can be increased.
The sub chamber may contain an adsorbent that adsorbs gaseous fuel. In that case, in addition to the purge passage and the purge valve, the fuel injection device for the internal combustion engine further includes an introduction path for introducing the atmosphere into the sub chamber, and an atmosphere introduction valve for switching conduction or blocking of the introduction path. You may do it. The purge passage may be configured to connect a portion of the intake passage downstream of the throttle valve and the sub chamber. In such a configuration, when the purge chamber pressure is lower than the atmospheric pressure in a state where the purge valve is controlled so that the purge passage is conducted, the control device is configured so that the introduction passage is conducted. The introduction valve may be controlled.
When the sub chamber contains the adsorbent, the amount of gaseous fuel that can be stored in the sub chamber is larger than when the sub chamber contains no adsorbent. Therefore, by accommodating the adsorbent in the sub chamber, the amount of gaseous fuel that can be moved from the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to the sub chamber when the fuel cut operation is performed can be increased. However, if the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent is not regenerated after the end of the fuel cut operation, the amount of gaseous fuel that can be moved from the fuel passage downstream from the regulator to the sub chamber during the next fuel cut operation is reduced. . On the other hand, when the pressure in the sub chamber is lower than the atmospheric pressure by controlling the purge valve so that the purge passage is conducted as described above, the atmosphere introduction valve is turned on so that the introduction path is conducted. Control and the atmosphere (air) are introduced into the sub chamber through the introduction passage, and then introduced into the intake passage through the purge passage. When such an air flow is generated, the gaseous fuel adsorbed on the adsorbent in the sub chamber is desorbed from the adsorbent. The gaseous fuel desorbed from the adsorbent is introduced into the intake passage together with air. Therefore, the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent can be regenerated. After the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent is regenerated, the purge valve and the air introduction valve may be controlled so that the purge passage and the introduction passage are shut off. In that case, the sub-chamber pressure can be reduced to atmospheric pressure. In addition, after regenerating the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent, the air introduction valve is first controlled so that the introduction passage is shut off, and then the purge passage is shut off when the pressure in the sub chamber becomes lower than the atmospheric pressure. The purge valve may be controlled as described above. In that case, the sub-chamber pressure can be lowered to a pressure lower than the atmosphere.
According to the present invention, in the fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine that is operated using gaseous fuel, when the internal combustion engine is operated by fuel cut, the fuel downstream from the regulator without fuel injection by the fuel injection valve. The fuel pressure in the passage can be reduced.
Hereinafter, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The dimensions, materials, shapes, relative arrangements, and the like of the components described in the present embodiment are not intended to limit the technical scope of the invention to those unless otherwise specified.
<実施例1>
<Example 1>
First, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention. FIG. 1 shows a fuel injection device applied to an
An
Further, the fuel injection device in this embodiment includes a
The
The
Further, the
By the way, in the fuel injection device configured as described above, surplus gaseous fuel existing in the delivery pipe 5 cannot be returned to the
Therefore, in this embodiment, when the fuel cut operation is performed, the gas fuel in the delivery pipe 5 is moved to the
(Execution method of decompression process)
An execution method of the decompression process in the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a timing chart showing the operation of the pressure reducing valve 11, the change in the passage pressure, and the change in the sub chamber pressure when the
In FIG. 2, when the
When the decompression process is executed by the method shown in FIG. 2, when the
Note that there is a possibility that the
By the way, when the decompression process described above is executed, the gaseous fuel moves from the fuel pipe 7 downstream from the delivery pipe 5 and the
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3, when the pressure in the passage and the pressure in the sub chamber are in an equilibrium state before the pressure in the passage decreases to a predetermined pressure (t4 in FIG. 3), the
Hereinafter, the execution procedure of the decompression process in the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing a processing routine executed by the
In the processing routine of FIG. 4, the
In the process of S102, the
In the process of S104, the
In the process of S105, the
In the process of S106, the
In the process of S107, the
In the process of S108, the
When the
By the way, when the decompression process is executed by the above-described method, the pressure in the passage is reduced while the pressure in the sub chamber is increased. When the next fuel cut operation is executed in a state where the sub chamber pressure is increased, there is a possibility that the pressure in the passage cannot be reduced, or that a reduction in the pressure in the passage is reduced. Therefore, in this embodiment, when the fuel cut operation after the decompression process is not executed (when the
(Relief process execution method)
A method for executing the relief process in this embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 5 is a timing chart showing the operation of the pressure reducing valve 11, the change in the passage pressure, and the change in the sub chamber pressure when the fuel cut operation after the pressure reduction process is not executed. The solid line in the upper diagram in FIG. 5 indicates the pressure in the passage, and the alternate long and short dash line indicates the pressure in the sub chamber.
In FIG. 5, when the target fuel pressure decreases due to a decrease in engine load or the like, and accordingly the pressure in the passage becomes lower than the pressure in the sub chamber (t6 in FIG. 5), the
When the gaseous fuel in the
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 5, the
In the example shown in FIG. 5, when the pressure in the passage is constant during the period from the start of the relief process (t6 in FIG. 5) to the end of the execution (t7 in FIG. 5) (in other words, the target fuel pressure Is taken as an example), but the operating state of the
Hereinafter, the execution procedure of the relief process in a present Example is demonstrated along FIG. FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing a processing routine executed by the
In the processing routine of FIG. 7, the
In the process of S202, the
In the process of S203, the
In the process of S204, the
In the process of S205, the
When the
According to the embodiment described above, when the fuel cut operation is executed, the pressure in the passage can be reduced while suppressing the deterioration of the fuel consumption rate.
<実施例2>
<Example 2>
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Here, a configuration different from that of the first embodiment will be described, and description of the same configuration will be omitted. The difference between the first embodiment described above and the present embodiment is that when the fuel cut operation is not executed, the gaseous fuel remaining in the

In the fuel injection device of the internal combustion engine configured as described above, when the fuel cut operation after the decompression process is not executed and when the above-described relief process is completed (the sub-chamber pressure is equal to the passage pressure). When the pressure is reduced to the same pressure), a process of moving the gaseous fuel from the
Here, the execution method of the relief process and the purge process in the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 9 shows the operation of the pressure reducing valve 11, the operation of the purge valve 18, the change in the passage pressure, the change in the sub chamber pressure, and the change in the intake pressure when the fuel cut operation after the pressure reduction processing is not executed. It is a timing chart. The solid line in the upper diagram in FIG. 9 indicates the pressure in the passage, the alternate long and short dash line indicates the sub-chamber pressure, and the alternate long and two short dashes line indicates the intake pressure.
In FIG. 9, when the pressure in the passage becomes lower than the pressure in the sub chamber (t6 in FIG. 9), the
When the purge process is executed, the gaseous fuel that has moved from the
Further, if the gaseous fuel in the
When the purge process is executed by the above-described method, the sub-chamber pressure can be reduced to a pressure equivalent to the intake air pressure while avoiding the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture from rapidly increasing. Here, since the intake pressure is sufficiently lower than the pressure in the passage, if the sub-chamber pressure is reduced to a pressure equivalent to the intake pressure by the purge process, the sub-chamber pressure and the passage at the next fuel cut operation execution time The difference from the internal pressure increases. Therefore, if the above-described pressure reduction process is executed at the time of the next fuel cut operation, the pressure in the passage can be more reliably lowered to a predetermined pressure or less.
Hereinafter, the execution procedure of the purge process in the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing a processing routine executed by the
In the processing routine of FIG. 10, the
In the subroutine of FIG. 11, the
In the process of S402, the
In the process of S403, the
In the process of S404, the
As described above, when the purge process is executed according to the subroutine of FIG. 11, the sub-chamber pressure can be reduced to a pressure equivalent to the intake pressure when the fuel cut operation is not executed. A difference between the pressure in the passage and the pressure in the sub chamber when the fuel cut operation is performed can be increased. Therefore, if the above-mentioned pressure reduction process is executed at the time of the next fuel cut operation, the pressure in the passage can be lowered to a lower pressure. As a result, the probability that the pressure in the passage decreases to a predetermined pressure or less increases.
In this embodiment, the purge process is executed when the relief process is completed. However, this is the case when the relief process cannot be executed (when the pressure in the passage is equal to or higher than the sub-chamber pressure). Thus, the purge process may be executed when the sub chamber pressure is higher than the intake pressure. In this case, the sub-chamber pressure can be more reliably reduced, and accordingly, the passage pressure can be more reliably reduced when the next fuel cut operation is performed.
<実施例3>
<Example 3>
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Here, a configuration different from the second embodiment described above will be described, and the description of the same configuration will be omitted. The difference between the second embodiment and the present embodiment described above is that the adsorbent capable of adsorbing gaseous fuel is accommodated in the
FIG. 12 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine in the present embodiment. In FIG. 12, the same components as those in the second embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals. In FIG. 12, the
As described above, when the adsorbent 100 is accommodated in the
Here, the execution method of the purge process in a present Example is demonstrated based on FIG. FIG. 13 shows the operation of the pressure reducing valve 11, the operation of the purge valve 18, the operation of the
In FIG. 13, when the pressure in the passage becomes lower than the pressure in the sub chamber (t6 in FIG. 13), the
Note that if the gaseous fuel desorbed from the adsorbent 100 is introduced into the
Therefore, the
In addition, when the predetermined negative pressure is set to a relatively low pressure (pressure having a large negative pressure degree), the amount of gaseous fuel desorbed from the adsorbent 100 per unit time increases and the intake per unit time is increased. Since the amount of gaseous fuel introduced into the
When the
Hereinafter, the execution procedure of the purge process in the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 14 is a flowchart showing a subroutine executed in the process of S301 in the process routine of FIG. In FIG. 14, the same reference numerals are assigned to the same processes as those in the second embodiment (subroutine in FIG. 11).
In the subroutine of FIG. 14, when it is determined that the purge condition is not satisfied in the process of S401, the
In the process of S501, the
In the process of S502, the
In the process of S503, the
As described above, when the purge process is executed according to the subroutine of FIG. 14, the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent 100 can be regenerated and the sub-chamber pressure can be reduced to atmospheric pressure. Therefore, if the decompression process is executed during the next fuel cut operation, the pressure in the passage can be lowered to a lower pressure. As a result, the probability that the pressure in the passage decreases to a predetermined pressure or less increases.
