Description

The present invention relates to a method for producing a pet feed for animals that have a weak biting force, such as ultra-small dogs and senior dogs.

Conventionally, pet feed manufactured from raw materials such as leather, such as cow leather that is generally used for dogs, is subjected to treatments such as washing, deashing, oxidation and bleaching on the raw materials, squeezed and dehydrated, and each form Molded into dried and dried. In addition, many pet feeds that are finally dried after various treatments of raw materials such as cattle Achilles tendon and pig ears are commercially available.

These pet feeds are dehydrated and dried to prevent contamination due to corrosion, mold, etc., and the water activity value is kept low. Dogs, dogs with weak teeth, and senior dogs with weak jaws cannot chew their teeth strongly, so they cannot eat enough pet food. In addition, it places an excessive burden on the jaws of dogs with weak teeth and senior dogs, and increases them over stress.

On the other hand, in recent years, the proportion of dogs classified as ultra-small dogs is high among dogs, and the demand for pet feed to be eaten by such ultra-small dogs is increasing.

Therefore, for example, Patent Document 1 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-175627) proposes a technique for obtaining a flexible pet feed using floor leather as a raw material. That is, in Patent Document 1, a polyhydric alcohol wetting agent called polyol is taken in by rawhide, and it is possible to provide a rawhide product that remains soft even after being dried or exposed to air for a long time. At the same time, the moisture content can be increased.

Further, for example, in Patent Document 2 (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-235468), a leather fiber-degrading enzyme is applied to floor leather obtained by slicing raw leather and subjecting it to chemical treatments such as rehydration, decalcification, oxidation, and bleaching. A method for producing a pet feed comprising a leather fiber-degrading enzyme treatment step treated with a softening agent filling treatment step of filling an intermediate treated leather obtained by the leather fiber-degrading enzyme treatment step with polyhydric alcohol is proposed. ing.

特開2000−175627号公報JP 2000-175627 A 特開2003−235468号公報JP 2003-235468 A

However, the polyhydric alcohol in Patent Document 1 is merely included in leather, and the polyhydric alcohol cannot be sufficiently permeated into the leather and the leather fiber body, thereby increasing flexibility. The effect is not enough. Further, in Patent Document 2, although it is possible to fill the intermediate-treated leather with polyhydric alcohol, in the same manner as the technique of Patent Document 1, it is particularly hard for muscles such as Achilles tendon of cattle and ears of pigs. The raw material including the part is not studied at all.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a pet feed production method that can obtain a pet feed excellent in flexibility even from a raw material containing a hard portion such as a muscle of a cow's Achilles tendon and a pig ear. Is to provide.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present inventor can treat a raw material containing a hard portion such as a muscle of a cow's Achilles tendon or a pig's ear to obtain a pet having excellent flexibility from the raw material containing the hard portion. As a result of intensive investigations and experiments on the conditions of each treatment process, etc., through a washing process, a soaking process using a water-soluble treatment liquid of a predetermined composition, and a drying process Has been found to be effective, and the present invention has been completed.

That is, the present invention includes (1) a washing step of washing a cow's Achilles tendon (cattle muscle) or a pig / sheep ear , which is a raw material containing a hard part, and (2) the raw material that has passed through the washing step, And a dipping step of immersing in a water-soluble treatment solution containing glycerin, and (3) a drying step of drying the raw material that has passed through the dipping step to obtain a pet feed. A manufacturing method is provided.

According to the method for producing a pet feed of the present invention having such a configuration, chips adhering to a raw material having a hard portion, such as a cow's Achilles tendon (cattle muscle) or a pig / sheep ear, in the washing step. And foreign substances can be removed, the raw material can be given sufficient flexibility (especially after drying) in the dipping step, and an appropriate water activity value and sufficient in the drying step A pet food having flexibility can be obtained.

In the pet feed production method of the present invention, the volume ratio of propylene glycol and glycerin (propylene glycol: glycerin) in the water-soluble treatment liquid in the immersing step (2 ) is 1: 4 to 1: 3. .

The present inventor has confirmed by experiments that a pet feed having an appropriate water activity value and sufficient flexibility can be obtained more reliably, particularly when the water-soluble treatment liquid has the above composition.

In the method for producing a pet feed of the present invention, the pet feed finally obtained preferably has a propylene glycol residual value of 2.0% or less and a water activity value of 0.86 or less. .

According to the method for producing a pet feed of the present invention having such a configuration, it is possible to more reliably obtain a pet feed that has the same safety as that for humans and is less prone to decay.

ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, even if it is from the raw material containing hard parts, such as muscles, such as a cow's Achilles tendon (cow muscle), and the ears of a pig and a sheep, it can obtain pet feed excellent in flexibility. A method for producing a feed can be provided.

Hereinafter, as an embodiment of the method for producing a pet feed of the present invention, a method for producing a pet feed using a cow's Achilles tendon as a raw material having a hard portion will be described. However, the present invention is not limited to these.

(1) Washing process First, in the method for producing a pet feed of the present embodiment, a cow's Achilles tendon is washed (washed) with water as a raw material having a hard part (washing process). For example, a large number of cattle Achilles tendons may be placed in a cage and washed by flowing water over the cattle Achilles tendons. In this cleaning process, chips and foreign substances adhering to the Achilles tendon of the cow as a raw material are removed.

It is more preferable to clean the surface of the cow's Achilles tendon with a brush or the like while flowing water. Since black charcoal foreign matter may adhere to the Achilles tendon of the cow, it is preferable to clean with a brush or the like in order to remove such foreign matter more reliably.

The water used for washing may be tap water, or distilled water or pure water. Further, the cow's Achilles tendon as a raw material may be in a dry state or a raw state before being subjected to the washing step.

(2) Dipping step Next, the Achilles tendon of the cow that has undergone the washing step (2) is immersed in a water-soluble treatment solution containing propylene glycol and glycerin.

The water-soluble treatment liquid used here is called water-soluble because it contains water in addition to propylene glycol and glycerin. The present inventor has found through experiments that a sufficient flexibility (especially after the drying step described later) can be imparted to the bovine Achilles tendon by using the water-soluble treatment liquid. Therefore, it can be said that the water-soluble treatment liquid is a softening agent for bovine Achilles tendon.

Propylene glycol and glycerin contained in the water-soluble treatment liquid are polyhydric alcohols. Examples of the polyhydric alcohol include various substances such as glycerin, xylitol, mannitol, sorbitol, erythritol, and propylene glycol, as described in Patent Document 2 above. Particularly, a combination of propylene glycol and glycerin. The present inventor has found that it is suitable to use a sufficient amount of softness (particularly softness after the drying process described later) for the Achilles tendon of cattle.

By using a water-soluble treatment solution containing propylene glycol and glycerin in the dipping step (2), an excellent softening effect of the Achilles tendon of the cow is obtained, and the compatibility with the Achilles tendon of the cow after treatment is also high. As a result, the water activity value can be kept low. Even after the pet food finally obtained is dried or exposed to air for a long time, sufficient flexibility can be maintained. In addition, by maintaining the water activity value low, it is possible to suppress the growth of bacteria and prevent spoilage.

Here, the composition of the water-soluble treatment liquid will be described. The water-soluble treatment liquid contains water, propylene glycol, and glycerin. The total amount of propylene glycol and glycerin can be appropriately determined within a range not impairing the effects of the present invention. For example, from the viewpoint of maintaining an appropriate softness in the texture of the product, It is preferable that it is volume%-25 volume%.

Furthermore, from the viewpoint that pet feed having an appropriate water activity value and sufficient flexibility can be obtained more reliably, and the residual value of propylene glycol can be adjusted to a preferable range of 2.0% or less more reliably. More preferably , the volume ratio of propylene glycol and glycerin (propylene glycol: glycerin) in the water-soluble treatment liquid is 1: 4 to 1: 3 (that is, the water-soluble treatment liquid is 20% by volume in total of propylene glycol). And when it contains glycerol, propylene glycol is 4 volume%-5 volume%, and glycerol is 16 volume%-15 volume%).

This soaking step (2) may be performed by putting the above-mentioned water-soluble treatment liquid in a container and immersing the Achilles tendon of the cow that has undergone the above-described washing step (2) in the container. What is necessary is just to adjust suitably the quantity of said water-soluble processing liquid put into a container in anticipation of the swelling degree (or swelling degree) of a cow's Achilles tendon. The present inventor has confirmed by experiments that the degree of expansion (or degree of swelling) of the Achilles tendon in cattle is about 10%.

The environmental temperature of the dipping step (2) may be room temperature, but may be, for example, about 18 ° C. to 20 ° C. from the viewpoint of preventing the raw materials and the water-soluble treatment liquid from being spoiled. The temperature of said water-soluble processing liquid should just be the same as environmental temperature.

The soaking time in the soaking step (2) varies depending on the size, composition and dryness of the Achilles tendon of the cow used as a raw material, but may be adjusted while confirming the flexibility (softness) of the Achilles tendon of the cow. What is necessary is just to determine the pickling time in the range of 20 hours-80 hours (especially 72 hours), for example.

In addition, you may add various adjuvant agents (For example, preservatives, such as potassium sorbate, etc.) to said water-soluble process liquid in the range which does not impair the effect of this invention as needed. Moreover, you may perform a immersing process (2) by mixing a cow's Achilles tendon and said water-soluble processing liquid in it using a rotary barrel etc. as said container.

(3) Drying process Next, the Achilles tendon of the cow which passed through said picking process (2) is dried and pet food is obtained (drying process).

Although the conditions of a drying process (3) can be suitably adjusted in the range which does not impair the effect of this invention, what is necessary is just to set it as the range of 55 to 60 degreeC, for example using a hot air dryer. If the temperature exceeds 60 ° C., the Achilles tendon of the cow may be deformed.

The drying time can be appropriately adjusted within a range not impairing the effects of the present invention, but is a factor that is easily influenced by environmental temperature and humidity. From the viewpoint that the pet feed finally obtained is excellent in soft feeling and is less susceptible to decay due to mold, the drying time is adjusted so that the yield rate is 130 to 150, preferably 135 to 140. preferable.

The pet feed of this embodiment obtained through the above three steps preferably has a propylene glycol residual value of 2.0% or less and a water activity value of 0.86 or less. The residual value of propylene glycol and the water activity value can be controlled by adjusting the composition of the water-soluble treatment liquid used in the soaking step (2) and the conditions of the drying step (3).

As mentioned above, although one Embodiment of the manufacturing method of the pet feed of this invention was described, this invention is not limited only to these. A raw material including various hard portions can be used, and each condition in each step may be appropriately adjusted according to the type, size, composition, structure, and the like of the raw material.

(1) Cleaning step As a raw material, 120 cattle Achilles tendons (dried) having a central part thickness of about 1 cm to 3 cm and a length of about 6 cm to 9 cm are prepared, and a plastic having dimensions of 30 cm × 40 cm × 10 cm It was put into a metal bowl and washed with a brush while running tap water from the tap.

(2) Dipping process Next, the Achilles tendon of the cow which passed through the washing | cleaning process (2) was immersed in the water-soluble process liquid containing a propylene glycol and glycerol. The environmental temperature at this time was 20 ° C., and the temperature of the water-soluble treatment liquid was 20 ° C. The soaking time was 72 hours. The composition of the water-soluble treatment liquid used here was as shown in Table 1 below.

(3) Drying process The Achilles tendon of the cow which passed through the above-mentioned picking process (2) was dried at a temperature of 55 ° C. using a Fujiki fish dryer (type 51-75-125) which is a windless dryer manufactured by Fujiki Kogyo Co., Ltd. And it dried on the conditions of drying time 4.2 hours, and manufactured the feed 1-4 for pets.

[Evaluation test]
(A) Residual value of propylene glycol (PG) The PG residual value (%) was measured for the pet feeds 1 to 4 produced as described above by a method called gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The results are shown in Table 1.

(B) Water activity (AW) value About feed 1 for pets manufactured as mentioned above, AW value was measured by the method of an electrical resistance type water activity measuring device "EZ-100ST". The results are shown in Table 1.

Figure 0006179017
Figure 0006179017

From the results shown in Table 1, when the mixing ratio of propylene glycol and glycerin is a volume ratio of 1 to 6: 9 to 4 (experiment numbers 1 to 4), either PG residual value or AW value is preferable. When the volume ratio of 2 to 5: 8 to 5 (experiment numbers 2 and 3) is obtained, it can be seen that a pet feed having both a PG residual value and an AW value in a preferable range can be obtained. .

In the above experiment, the drying temperature was 55 ° C. and the drying time was 4.2 hours. However, since the yield rate was affected by the environmental temperature, a yield rate of 135 to 140% was ideal. Because, as shown in Table 2, the hardness of the pet feed obtained by drying as a result of a separate test is 189% of the dry time of 72 hours, and the yield rate is adjusted to 136%. The pet feed obtained was the softest.
