Description
収縮%=([グリーン状態のサイズ]−[焼成状態のサイズ])/(グリーン状態のサイズ)

Claims (5)
- セラミックハニカム構造物の、グリーン体状態と焼成状態との間での収縮および/または成長を制御する方法において、
(a)コーディエライトを含むセラミックハニカム構造物を製造するのに適した、ベーマイトを含むバッチ組成物を提供する工程と、
(b)前記バッチ組成物をグリーンハニカム構造物に押出す工程と、
(c)前記グリーンハニカム構造物の寸法を測定する工程と、
(d)前記グリーンハニカム構造物を焼成する工程と、
(e)前記焼成されたハニカム構造物の寸法を測定する工程と、
(f)前記グリーンハニカム構造物と比較して前記焼成されたハニカム構造物の収縮または成長を定量し、前記収縮または成長と、前記バッチ組成物のベーマイトの含有量との相関性に基づいて、所望の収縮または成長に対応する、前記バッチ組成物に添加すべきベーマイト量を選択する工程と、
(g)前記選択された量のベーマイトを前記バッチ組成物に添加することによって前記組成物のベーマイト含有量を調節する工程と、
(h)前記グリーン体状態と焼成状態との間での所望のレベルの収縮または成長を得るために必要に応じて工程(a)〜(g)を繰り返す工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする、方法。 - 前記バッチ組成物が、実質的に粘土を含有しないコーディエライト組成物であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記バッチ組成物が、シリカ、アルミナ、マグネシウムの少なくとも1つの供給源、またはそれらの組合せを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記バッチ組成物が、少なくとも1つのガラス形成金属酸化物供給源をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つのガラス形成金属酸化物供給源が、イットリウム供給源、ランタン供給源、またはそれらの組合せを含むことを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の方法。
