Description
The present invention relates to an active energy ray-curable printing ink.
In recent years, offset printing is capable of instantaneous drying (curing) of active energy ray-curable ink by instantaneous irradiation of active energy rays, so post-processing (booking, package cutting, folding, varnish coating) immediately after printing Etc.) can be implemented, and the delivery time can be shortened and the productivity can be greatly improved. Therefore, the substitution from the oxidation polymerization type ink that requires drying time of about one day is rapidly progressing.
In offset printing inks, pigments exist in a finely dispersed state in the ink, and this is indispensable for obtaining good printing paper surface quality (color reproducibility, gloss, transparency, etc.). .
On the other hand, offset printing forms an image of the ink layer by repelling ink and dampening water by supplying dampening water to the non-image area on the printing plate, and the obtained image is printed on the paper surface via a blanket. This is a printing method in which a printed matter is obtained by being transferred to a print. Therefore, during continuous printing, dampening water is usually mixed into the ink and the ink is emulsified. Further, in long-time printing with a large number of continuously printed sheets, dampening water is continuously supplied into the ink and emulsification proceeds. In the state where this emulsification proceeds, the offset printing ink is a printed matter with the same performance from the initial printing to the end (the change in the printing density between the printing paper surfaces from the initial printing to the end is small, the emulsified ink Smudges due to ink (no soiling) occur, and the emulsified ink stains the printing press (the emulsified ink adheres to the dampening water supply roller of the printing press and causes smudges). The contamination of the feed water supply roller destabilizes the supply amount of dampening water, so that the printer must be stopped and cleaning is reduced, resulting in reduced productivity.) Need to have continuous printability). In order to maintain these aptitudes, it is necessary to maintain the state in which the pigment is finely dispersed in an appropriate range even in the emulsified state.
In addition, offset printing inks have finely dispersed pigments, so that the thixotropic property is high on the viscous surface, and the static fluidity of the ink is lowered. Ink with low static fluidity causes long-term printing to reduce the fluidity of the ink in the ink fountain that is the ink supply source in the printing press. Therefore, there is a problem that the ink supply to the printing press (to the printing plate) is delayed and the density of the printing paper surface is reduced, and the paper surface quality is impaired.
Therefore, Patent Document 1 discloses an active energy ray-curable printing ink using trifunctional (meth) acrylate and polyester for pigment dispersion.
However, conventional active energy ray curable inks are remarkably inferior in continuous printing suitability and stationary fluidity as compared with oxidation polymerization type inks. Therefore, there is a problem that the initial print quality during continuous printing is difficult to maintain at the end, and the print quality tends to deteriorate. Furthermore, the dampening water supply roller is likely to be smeared with emulsified ink, resulting in a decrease in paper quality, resulting in a decrease in productivity due to an increase in the number of times the printing is stopped and the dampening water supply roller is washed. was there.

In the present invention, the compound represented by the general formula (1) is preferably used for dispersing the pigment in combination with a resin. When the ink contains the compound represented by the general formula (1), the affinity between the resin and the pigment is greatly improved, and the fine dispersion state of the pigment can be stably maintained. This can similarly maintain a stable fine dispersion state of the pigment even in the ink emulsified during printing, so that continuous printing is improved. At the same time, the stability of the ink is improved because the thixotropic property of the ink is lowered.

The ink is cured by irradiating an active energy ray to an ink layer formed by printing and drying (curing) the ink layer. The active energy ray is, for example, ionizing radiation such as ultraviolet ray, electron beam, X-ray, α ray, β ray, γ ray, microwave, high frequency, etc. Any energy ray that can generate radical active species. However, visible light, infrared light, or laser light may be used. Ultraviolet light source is, for example, ultra high pressure mercury lamp, high pressure mercury lamp, medium pressure mercury lamp, low pressure mercury lamp, metal halide lamp, xenon lamp, carbon arc lamp, helium cadmium laser, YAG laser, excimer laser, argon laser, LED lamp Etc. Any light source may be used as long as it is used for photocurable ink such as offset printing. Specifically, for example, a light source of about 40 W to 240 W is preferable for a metal halide lamp, a mercury lamp, or the like, and a light source of about 2 W to 20 W is preferable for an LED lamp. It should be noted that the number of light sources and the like can be appropriately adjusted according to the printing speed, the distance between the printed matter and the lamp on the apparatus configuration, and the dry state of the ink layer.

1. Continuous printing suitability (density between printing paper surfaces, background stains)
About the obtained ink, a continuous printing test was performed using the following printing machine,
Sampling was performed every 00 sheets, 8000 sheets, 12000 sheets, and 16000 sheets, and the density stability of the printed matter and visual observation of the presence or absence of soiling (background stain) of the printed matter were performed. The evaluation criteria are as follows.
<Soil dirt>
A: The ink layer non-formation part was free from stains and a good printed matter was obtained.
Δ: A practically printed matter was obtained although the ink layer non-formed part was slightly stained.
X: The ink layer non-formation part had a stain | pollution | contamination, and the printed matter which cannot be used was obtained.
印刷物の濃度の測定はX-riteEXACT(D50、2度視野、ISOStatusE)(ビデオジェット・エックスライト社製)を用いた。
<Concentration stability>
A continuous printing test was performed in the same manner as described above, and the density value of the solid portion of the printed material was measured with respect to the density value of the 200th printed material after the start of printing. The closer the value is to 1, the better the concentration is maintained. X-riteEXACT (D50, 2 degree visual field, ISOStatusE) (manufactured by Videojet X-Rite) was used for the measurement of the density of the printed matter.

2. Continuous printing suitability (dirt of dampening water supply roller)
About the obtained ink, a continuous printing test is performed in the same manner as described above, the printing machine is stopped at 5000 sheets, 15000 sheets, and 30000 sheets, respectively, and the state of the fountain solution supply roller is visually checked, and if necessary, The dampening water supply roller was washed. The evaluation standard is described as the number of washings required for printing up to each number of sheets.
(Printing conditions)
・ Offset printing machine: LITHRONE26 (manufactured by Komori Corporation)
-PS (presensitized plate) version: XP-F (manufactured by FFGS)
・ Paper: Pearl Court N (Mitsubishi Paper)
・ Dampening water: tap water / ASTRO MARK 3 (manufactured by Nikken Chemical Laboratories) / Isopropyl alcohol = mixed at a ratio of 95 wt% / 2 wt% / 3 wt% Printing conditions: temperature 25 ± 1 ° C., printing Speed: 8000 sheets / hour / printing operation conditions: The scale of the dampening water supply device was set to the minimum value at which the printed matter was not stained.
2. Evaluation of static fluidity 3 g of the obtained ink was dropped on a brass inclined plate inclined at 60 ° in an atmosphere of 25 ° C, and the distance that flowed from the ink landing point for 10 minutes was measured and evaluated as static fluidity. did. Note that the evaluation standard was better as the length of ink flow was longer. The unit is expressed in mm.
From the results of Table 1, Examples 1 to 6 have good static fluidity. Further, since there is little background contamination when continuous printing is performed, there is little paper loss and the productivity of printed matter is improved. In addition, since the change in the density of the ink layer can be suppressed when continuous printing is performed, the productivity of printed matter is improved in that the number of times of cleaning by temporarily stopping the printing press can be reduced.
On the other hand, since Comparative Examples 1 and 2 did not contain the compound represented by the chemical formula (1), the static fluidity of the ink was the same as before. Moreover, since the pigment cannot be kept in a finely dispersed state in the ink during continuous printing, the above-described effects cannot be obtained and productivity cannot be improved.
