Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, and more particularly to an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine that processes exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine.
2. Description of the Related Art Exhaust gas purification apparatuses that purify exhaust gas by removing unburned gas (HC, CO, NO x, etc.) contained in exhaust gas discharged from internal combustion engines such as diesel engines and gasoline engines are used. For example, as disclosed in
These catalysts have a temperature range suitable for exhaust gas purification, and if the temperature is out of this temperature range, the exhaust gas purification efficiency decreases. Therefore, in order to efficiently purify the exhaust gas, it is necessary to maintain the temperature of the catalyst within an appropriate temperature range.
Therefore, for example, in the exhaust gas purification processing device of
The conventional techniques as described above are intended to keep the catalyst within an appropriate temperature range from the viewpoint of exhaust gas purification efficiency. Furthermore, if the catalyst becomes too hot, the surface area of the catalyst may decrease due to the fusion of the noble metal particles supported on the catalyst support, resulting in a decrease in the reaction efficiency, or cracks in the support itself. . Therefore, it is desirable to suppress the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst from the viewpoint of suppressing the deterioration of the catalyst and improving the durability.
However, in the prior art as described above, a cooling air passage must be provided in the middle of the exhaust pipe, and a cooling device must be newly installed in the cooling air passage, resulting in an increase in complexity and cost of the device.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems of the prior art, and reduces the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst without complicating the apparatus and increasing the cost, thereby degrading the catalyst. An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine that can be suppressed and improved in durability.
In order to achieve the above object, an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention is an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine that processes exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine, and purifies the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. A turbocharger having a turbine and a compressor disposed upstream of the catalyst and the exhaust gas purification catalyst, and a part of the exhaust gas is taken out from the upstream side of the turbine of the turbocharger to the intake path of the internal combustion engine An exhaust gas recirculation path to be circulated, an exhaust gas recirculation path provided in the exhaust gas recirculation path, an exhaust cooling section for cooling the exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust gas recirculation path, and one end connected to the exhaust gas recirculation path on the downstream side of the exhaust cooling section. A cooling exhaust gas introduction passage whose other end is connected to the upstream side of the exhaust gas purification catalyst, and a bypass passage that bypasses the upstream side and the downstream side of the turbine of the turbocharger. Yo Part of the cooled exhaust gas is circulated through the exhaust gas recirculation path to the intake path of the internal combustion engine, and the other part of the exhaust gas cooled by the exhaust cooling unit branches to the cooling exhaust gas introduction path. The exhaust gas purification catalyst is introduced to the upstream side of the exhaust gas purification catalyst, the outlet of the cooling exhaust gas introduction passage is connected to the bypass passage, and the upstream end of the bypass passage is exhausted from the upstream side of the turbine of the turbocharger. A waste gate valve for adjusting the gas flow rate is provided, and a cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjusting valve for adjusting the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the cooling exhaust gas introduction passage is provided in the cooling exhaust gas introduction passage. A valve control unit for controlling the opening degree of the valve and the cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve; the valve control unit opens the waste gate bar after opening the cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve. Characterized in that it open the drive.
In the present invention configured as described above, one end of the cooling exhaust gas introduction passage is connected to the exhaust gas recirculation path on the downstream side of the exhaust cooling unit, and the other end is connected to the upstream side of the exhaust gas purification catalyst. Part of the exhaust gas cooled by the cooling unit is branched into the cooling exhaust gas introduction passage and introduced to the upstream side of the exhaust gas purification catalyst, so that the cooled exhaust gas together with the exhaust gas flowing out of the turbine enters the catalyst device. By flowing in, the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst device can be lowered.
The exhaust cooling section can be used for cooling both the exhaust gas circulating from the exhaust gas recirculation path to the intake path and the exhaust gas flowing into the cooling exhaust gas introduction path, so that the exhaust gas flowing into the cooling exhaust gas introduction path This eliminates the need to install a new exhaust cooling section to cool the battery, thereby reducing the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst without complicating the equipment and increasing costs, and suppressing catalyst deterioration and durability. Can be improved.
In addition, since the valve control unit opens the waste gate valve after opening the cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve, the exhaust gas flowing into the bypass passage through the waste gate valve while maintaining a high temperature is passed through the exhaust recirculation passage. The temperature can be lowered by mixing with the exhaust gas cooled by the exhaust cooling section and flowing into the bypass passage via the cooling exhaust gas introduction passage, and the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst device can be lowered.
In the present invention, it is preferable that the minimum change amount of the opening area of the cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve is smaller than the minimum change amount of the opening area of the waste gate valve.
In the present invention configured as described above, in the operation region where both the cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve and the waste gate valve are opened, the opening of the waste gate valve having a large minimum change amount is increased to bypass the turbine. While ensuring the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing into the bypass passage, by finely adjusting the opening of the cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve with a small minimum change amount, the exhaust pressure at the turbocharger and the inlet of the catalyst device The gas temperature can be controlled with high accuracy.
According to the exhaust system for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention, the temperature of exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst can be lowered, the deterioration of the catalyst can be suppressed, and the durability can be improved without causing complication of the apparatus and an increase in cost. .
Hereinafter, an internal combustion engine exhaust system according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First, the overall configuration of an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 1 is a system configuration diagram of an exhaust system according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 illustrates a minimum change amount of an opening area of a cooling exhaust gas flow rate adjustment valve and a waste gate valve of the exhaust system according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG.
First, in FIG. 1,
As shown in FIG. 1, the

Further, in the
Further, the
Further, the
Further, the

In the
An

Next, the operation of the
First, the process of FIG. 3 is started and repeatedly executed when the ignition of the vehicle is turned on and the
Next, in step S2, the
Next, proceeding to step S3, the
As a result, when the supercharging pressure can be maintained at the target value by cooperative control of the EGR valve 36 and the cooling exhaust gas flow
In step S3, if the supercharging pressure cannot be maintained at the target value by cooperative control of the EGR valve 36 and the cooling exhaust gas flow
In step S4, when the exhaust gas temperature is not lower than the target value (exceeds the target value), the process proceeds to step S6, and the
After step S5 or S6, the process proceeds to step S7, and the
Next, in step S4, the
Next, in the diagram of FIG. 4, the horizontal axis indicates the engine speed and the vertical axis indicates the torque. The solid line in FIG. 4 is a torque curve when the throttle is fully opened, and the
Specifically, when the engine speed increases at a certain throttle opening and reaches a state indicated by a one-dot chain line, the supercharging pressure reaches the target value acquired in step S1 of FIG. Therefore, the
Here, since the exhaust gas flowing into the
When the engine speed further increases, the
When the engine speed further increases and reaches the state indicated by the broken line, the opening degree of the cooling exhaust gas flow
When the engine speed further increases, the
As described above, the minimum change amount of the opening area of the cooling exhaust gas flow

First, similarly to the process of the embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 3, the process of FIG. 5 is activated and repeatedly executed when the ignition of the vehicle is turned on and the
Next, in step S12, the
Next, proceeding to step S13, the
As a result, when the supercharging pressure can be maintained at the target value by the cooperative control of the EGR valve 36 and the
In step S13, when the supercharging pressure cannot be maintained at the target value by cooperative control of the EGR valve 36 and the
In step S14, if the exhaust gas temperature is not lower than the target value (exceeds the target value), the process proceeds to step S16. If the cooling exhaust gas flow
After step S15 or S16, the process proceeds to step S17, and the
Next, in step S14, the
Next, in the diagram of FIG. 6, the horizontal axis indicates the engine speed and the vertical axis indicates the torque. The solid line in FIG. 6 is a torque curve when the throttle is fully opened, and the
Specifically, when the engine speed increases at a certain throttle opening and reaches a state indicated by a broken line, the supercharging pressure reaches the target value acquired in step S11 of FIG. Therefore, the
When the engine speed further increases, the
When the engine speed further increases and reaches the state indicated by the one-dot chain line, the opening degree of the
Further, when the opening degree of the
When the engine speed further increases, the
Further, in the above-described embodiment, the case where the
In this case, the outlet of the cooling exhaust
In the above-described embodiment, the outlet of the
For example, the outlet of the
Next, the effect of the
First, the inlet of the cooling exhaust
The
Further, since the
