Description
The present invention relates to an axial gap type power generator and a method for setting the dimensions of a core, for example, to a technique effective when applied to a power generator of an engine generator driven by an engine to generate power.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an engine generator that generates electric power by rotating a power generator connected to a crankshaft by an engine is known. In portable engine generators, it has been proposed to use an axial gap generator in order to reduce the size of the device (for example, Patent Document 1). The axial gap type power generator includes a disk-shaped rotor in which a plurality of magnets are aligned and fixed in the circumferential direction, a stator having a plurality of coils aligned in the circumferential direction, and a stator that is disposed to face the rotor at a predetermined interval. It is suitable for an engine generator because of its thin structure.
Conventionally, in an axial gap type power generation body, a rectangular wire is used as a winding wound around a core of a stator coil, thereby increasing the space factor, reducing the thickness, and increasing the output. Further, in the conventional axial gap type power generator, the winding is wound to the vicinity of the tip of the stator core as shown in FIG. 3A in order to reduce the interval between the stator and the rotor.
However, as shown in FIG. 3A, in the axial gap type power generator in which the winding is wound up to the vicinity of the tip of the stator core, a considerable amount of magnetic flux from the rotor side magnet penetrates the winding at a right angle. Become. Therefore, when a rectangular wire is used as a winding, there is a problem that a loss due to an eddy current (eddy current loss) is larger than that using a round wire, resulting in a significant temperature rise of the stator coil. This has been clarified by the present inventors.
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and in an axial gap type power generator using a rectangular wire as a winding of a stator coil, eddy current loss in the winding is reduced and temperature rise of the stator coil is suppressed. The purpose is to do.
In the axial gap type power generator, the eddy current loss due to the magnetic flux passing through the winding can be reduced as the amount of protrusion from the winding end face of the core is increased. However, when the amount of protrusion of the core is increased, the output voltage is lowered. Therefore, it has been found that the amount of protrusion of the core is preferably determined by a trade-off between the amount of reduction in eddy current loss and the amount of decrease in output voltage. Therefore, the present inventors propose to set the dimensions of the core in the axial gap type power generator by the following method.
That is, the invention according to the present application is
A rectangular wire is wound around an outer peripheral surface of a core composed of a rotor in which a plurality of magnets are arranged in a circumferential direction on a disk-shaped base and a magnetic body arranged to face the magnets at a predetermined interval. a method of determining the dimensions of the core in a plurality of coils and stator which are arranged along the circumferential direction, the power generation of the axial gap type having,
The outer peripheral surface of the core for each of a plurality of stays data amount projecting different stretching to the rotor side to the rotor side end face of the winding made of flat wire, the generator when changing the winding current Calculate the characteristics of the DC voltage and generated power with respect to the winding current from the detection result of the DC voltage and generated power generated by the body,
On the basis of the calculated characteristic, in which a DC voltage or generator power is minimized needed to identify the protrusion amount obtained, it was to determine the size of the core with a projecting volume.
Here, the “projection amount” and “dimension” include the projection amount and height in the radial direction as well as the projection amount and height in the axial direction of the core.
In a power generator having a core set by the above-described means, most of the magnetic flux of the rotor-side magnet penetrates the tip of the core, reducing the amount of magnetic flux passing through the winding and reducing the eddy current loss of the winding. It is possible to greatly reduce the temperature rise of the coil.
Preferably, the current flowing through the winding is a rated current based on the characteristics of the DC voltage and generated power generated by the power generator when the winding current is changed for each protrusion amount of the core. The amount of protrusion from which the minimum required DC voltage and generated power can be obtained is found, and the dimensions of the core are set based on the amount of protrusion.
When a current exceeding the rated current is passed through the winding, the current density increases and the amount of heat generated in the winding increases rapidly. Therefore, by finding the minimum amount of protrusion that can provide the required DC voltage and generated power when the current flowing through the winding is the rated current, and setting the dimensions of the core based on the amount of protrusion, the minimum The coil temperature rise can be suppressed while ensuring the DC voltage and the generated power.
Another invention of the present application is a rotor in which a plurality of magnets are arranged in a circumferential direction on a disk-shaped base;
Axial gap and a stator having a plurality of coils are arranged along a circumferential direction in which the outer peripheral surface by winding the flat wire of the core of oppositely disposed magnetic material having said magnet with a predetermined gap Type power generator,
The core extends the outer peripheral surface to the rotor side by a predetermined length with respect to the end surface on the rotor side of a winding made of a rectangular wire, and the magnetic flux from the magnet on the rotor side is directly applied to the outer peripheral surface. And a projecting portion provided with a region leading to the above.
Desirably, the core has a flange-like edge formed on the outer peripheral portion of the end surface on the rotor side of the protrusion .
According to the above-described means, most of the magnetic flux of the rotor-side magnet penetrates the saddle-shaped edge of the core tip, reducing the amount of magnetic flux penetrating the winding and greatly reducing the eddy current loss of the winding, The temperature rise of the coil can be suppressed.
Desirably, the core of the coil is formed of a magnetic material having a conductivity lower than that of the material constituting the winding.
If the magnetic flux of the rotor-side magnet penetrates the tip of the core, the eddy current loss in the core will increase, but by forming the core with a magnetic material with low conductivity, the eddy current loss in the core will be increased. Can be suppressed.
Further, preferably, in an engine generator comprising an engine main body that outputs power by burning fuel, a crankshaft that converts the power of the engine main body into a rotational force, and a power generator coupled to the crankshaft. ,
The power generator is constituted by the axial gap type power generator as described above, and is configured such that the rotor is rotationally driven by the power output from the engine body to generate power.
Since the engine generator itself generates heat in the engine generator, the temperature of the power generator disposed in the vicinity of the engine generator tends to rise. However, the power generator is controlled by suppressing the coil temperature rise due to the eddy current loss of the windings. The overall temperature rise can be suppressed.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, in the axial gap type electric power generation body which uses a flat wire as a winding of a stator coil, there exists an effect that the eddy current loss in a winding can be reduced and the temperature rise of a stator coil can be suppressed.

As shown in FIG. 3B, each
Thereby, in this embodiment, most of the magnetic flux from the magnet of the
By the way, if the height of the core is too high, the inductance value of the status core increases, the impedance of the circuit increases, and the generated voltage (output DC voltage) is expected to decrease. Therefore, the present inventors verified the optimum height of the core. The verification result will be described below.
The axial gap type power generator to be verified has 18 stator coils arranged in the circumferential direction. The stator diameter is 216 mm, and the
The winding 234 is a rectangular wire having a width of 5.06 mm and a thickness of 0.67 mm. A winding of the winding 234 in two stages was used as a stator coil. The rated current density of the winding 234 depending on the material of the flat wire is 5.5 Arms / mm 2 , and the distance between the stator core and the magnet is 1 mm.
The height of the stator core is increased from 14.7 mm to the standard (the same as the conventional product), such as +2.25 mm, +3.0 mm, +3.25 mm, +4.0 mm, +4.25 mm, +5.0 mm. I prepared a variety of things. And about each, the magnetic flux density in micro width (DELTA) l in the position of 0.25 mm from the side wall of the core 233 as shown with a dashed-dotted line in FIG. 4 was measured along the height direction of the core. Note that the upper end of the winding 234 is fixed at a position of 0.75 mm from the tip surface of the core when the height of the
FIG. 5 shows the result of the measurement. FIG. 5 shows that the magnetic flux density decreases as the core height increases.
When estimating the eddy current loss generated in the winding, it is necessary to know the amount of magnetic flux in each minute width Δl. As shown by hatching in FIG. 6, the amount of magnetic flux S is equal to the area of the region sandwiched between the approximate curve A of magnetic flux density with the distance from the tip of the core as a variable and the X axis. The present inventors calculated the magnetic flux amount S by expressing the approximate curve A of the magnetic flux density with a sixth-order polynomial (not shown) and integrating the polynomial. An approximate curve A in FIG. 6 is obtained when the core height is 14.7 mm (conventional product), and the magnetic flux amount S is 0.812382.
Similarly, for a core whose height increase is +2.25 mm, +3.0 mm, +3.25 mm, +4.0 mm, +4.25 mm, and +5.0 mm, the magnetic flux in the minute width Δl from the measured magnetic flux density. The amount S was calculated respectively. The results are shown in Table 1 below. Further, since the eddy current loss is theoretically proportional to the square of the magnetic flux density, that is, the square of the magnetic flux, the square of the magnetic flux S 2 in the minute width Δl was also calculated, and the result is shown in Table 2 below.
Furthermore, the present inventors examined the relationship (power generation characteristics) between the height of the stator coil core in the axial gap type power generator, the DC voltage generated by the power generator, and the generated power. FIG. 8 shows the result. In FIG. 8, the downward sloping line indicates the output DC voltage characteristic, and the upward sloping line indicates the generated power characteristic.
The characteristics shown in FIG. 8 are obtained when a diode rectification type circuit is used as the rectification circuit and the amount of power generation is changed by changing the rotation speed of the rotor. Further, in FIG. 8, the broken line is a value corresponding to a rated current (current density 5.5 Arms / mm 2 ) suitable for flowing through the winding, and this is defined as an upper limit current value Iu. The reason why the rated current is set to the upper limit current value is that if a current higher than this is passed through the winding, the current density increases and the amount of heat generated in the winding increases rapidly.
From FIG. 8, it can be seen that as the winding current increases, the output DC voltage decreases but the generated power increases. However, as described above, when a current higher than the rated current is passed, the amount of heat generated in the winding increases rapidly, and the winding temperature rises. Therefore, it is not desirable to pass a current higher than the rated current. Therefore, the height of the core of the stator coil was changed, and the DC voltage and generated power generated by the power generator when the rated current (current density 5.5 Arms / mm 2 ) was passed were measured. The results are shown in Table 3 below.
In actual equipment, there is a possibility that the DC voltage and the generated power may be reduced by about 10%.
The optimum value for the core height is the value when a diode rectifier circuit is used as the rectifier circuit. When using other types of rectifier circuits, such as an inverter, the optimum value depends on the circuit type. The core height will be different.
In the above verification, the height of the core is determined based on the DC voltage generated by the power generator when the rated current (current density 5.5 Arms / mm 2 ) flows and the generated power. The height of the core may be determined based on the voltage and the generated power. Further, the allowable temperature of the power generation body may be determined, the rising temperature of the power generation body may be calculated from the verification result, and the core height necessary to prevent the allowable temperature from being exceeded may be determined.
(Modification)
