Description
The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus capable of adjusting a focus by operating a focus adjustment operation member.
Many digital cameras in recent years are equipped with an electronic viewfinder (also called a live view display function) using a liquid crystal monitor instead of an optical viewfinder. In this case, during manual focus adjustment, focus adjustment is performed while confirming the focus state on the liquid crystal monitor. However, it is difficult to find a focus peak only from an image normally displayed on the liquid crystal monitor. For this reason, a proposal has been made to make it easy to find a focus peak by enlarging a part of an image displayed on a liquid crystal monitor (for example, Patent Document 1). There has also been a proposal that detects that a focus adjustment operation member (manual focus ring) has been operated, and performs the enlarged display as described above when this operation is detected (for example, Patent Document 2). .
Here, when the enlarged display of

The operation of the digital camera in this embodiment will be described below with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the main operation of the camera in the present embodiment. For example, when a battery (not shown) is loaded in the

After performing live view display by the live view display operation, the
When the reproduction switch is turned on, the
After S4 or S5, the
After S6 or S7, the
After S8 or S9, the
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the live view display operation. At the start of the live view display operation, the
Subsequently, the
When the enlarged display is not currently being performed, the
When the contrast value up to the third time tends to increase, the
Here, as shown in FIG. 4A, in the enlarged display, it is desirable to display an
When the contrast value up to the third time is not increasing, the
When the contrast value up to the third time tends to decrease, the
When the contrast value up to the third time does not tend to decrease, the
If the change in contrast value is small, the process proceeds to S27, and enlarged display is performed. The case where the change in the contrast value is small is considered to be near the peak value of the contrast value, so that fine focus adjustment can be performed by performing enlarged display.
When the latch signal is at a low level (L), this time is not the third acquisition of the contrast value, when the contrast value up to the third time is neither increasing nor decreasing, and the change in the contrast value is large, the
FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating the relationship between the temporal change of the contrast value accompanying the operation of the focus adjustment operation member and the execution timing of the enlarged live view display. Here, FIG. 5A shows an example in which the contrast value tends to increase, and FIG. 5B shows an example in which the contrast value tends to decrease.
First, the example of FIG. 5A will be described. In the case where the focus state is detected using the contrast method as in the present embodiment, the contrast value tends to increase when the focus adjustment lens moves so as to approach the focus position. For example, when the focus
In the present embodiment, during the period in which the operation of the focus
Next, an example of FIG. 5B will be described. When the focus
Therefore, in this embodiment, when the contrast value is in the decreasing direction, advice regarding the operation direction of the focus
As described above, in the present embodiment, a contrast value is calculated during the operation of the focus
In this embodiment, when the contrast value is in the decreasing direction, advice regarding the operation direction of the focus
Further, in the present embodiment, the latch signal becomes a low level (L) after a predetermined time (for example, 2 seconds) has elapsed since the operation of the focus
Here, in the above-mentioned example, the tendency of the change is determined from the contrast values up to the third time. However, in actuality, the determination may be made using the fourth and subsequent contrast values.
In the above example, only the configuration related to manual focus adjustment is illustrated, but it goes without saying that the configuration related to automatic focus adjustment (AF) may be provided.
Although the present invention has been described above based on the embodiments, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications and applications are naturally possible within the scope of the gist of the present invention.
