Description
The present invention relates to a front pillar constituting a front side of a front door opening of a vehicle.
Of the collision safety in vehicles, in particular, in order to ensure safety against full-lap collision, it is required to efficiently absorb energy (impact) at the time of collision. In order to increase the energy absorption efficiency, it is necessary to secure a wide so-called crushable zone that absorbs energy by being crushed at the time of a collision on the front side of the cabin (the vehicle front side).
However, in order to expand the crushable zone, another space must be narrowed in the vehicle front-rear direction at the front portion of the vehicle, and as a result, the cabin space must be sacrificed. In particular, in a cab-over vehicle such as a truck whose cabin is close to the vehicle front side, not only the cabin space but also the cargo space required as a truck may be reduced.
Therefore, for example, in the vehicle body front part structure of Patent Document 1, the front frame portion, which is the front end portion of the vehicle body frame, includes a first front side member projecting forward from a front cross member extending in the vehicle width direction, and a first front side member. A front frame portion comprising a second front side member projecting forward of the vehicle on the outer side in the vehicle width direction, and a first cross member connecting the left and right first front side members and the front end surfaces of the second front side members; The front pillar that is connected to the lower end of the front pillar and supports the front door includes a third front side member that protrudes forward from the vehicle and a second cross member that connects the front end surfaces of the left and right third front side members. doing. According to Patent Document 1, the above-described configuration can improve the absorption efficiency of collision energy with a short crash stroke.
However, with the configuration of Patent Document 1, the number of components in the front portion of the vehicle is significantly increased. In the front part of the vehicle, many other parts such as an engine are mounted, so layout restrictions are severe, and it is considered difficult to place many parts as described above in such a situation. . In particular, it is extremely difficult to arrange many members as described above in a cab-over vehicle in which the space in front of the cabin (the front part of the vehicle) is narrow. In addition, if the number of components is large as described above, it naturally increases the cost and weight.
In view of such problems, the present invention can efficiently absorb energy even in a narrow crushable zone, and can ensure high collision safety without narrowing the cabin space or the cargo space. The purpose is to provide a simple front pillar.
In order to solve the above problems, a typical structure of a front pillar according to the present invention is a front pillar that constitutes a front side of a front door opening of a vehicle, and a side body outer panel that constitutes an outer surface of the front pillar. A dash side panel disposed on the inner side of the side body outer panel and constituting the inner surface of the front pillar, and one or both of the side body outer panel and the dash side panel is one of the vehicle height direction end portions of the vehicle front side. The front pillar further includes a reinforcing member extending in the vehicle front-rear direction at substantially the same height as the extension flange and having a rear end coupled to the extension flange. It is characterized by.
According to the said structure, energy is absorbed by the reinforcement member couple | bonded with the flange being crushed and deform | transforming at the time of a collision. Thereby, even in a narrow crushable zone, the energy absorption efficiency at the time of collision can be increased, and the maximum cabin space and luggage space can be secured. In addition, since the members required at this time are only the extension flanges formed on the members constituting the outer surface and inner surface of the front pillar and the reinforcing members coupled thereto, the increase in the number of parts, and hence the increase in cost and weight can be suppressed. it can. Furthermore, since the structure is simple, it is easy to install even in the front part of the vehicle where layout constraints are severe, and can be suitably applied to a cab-over vehicle where the space in the front part of the vehicle is narrow.
The reinforcing member includes a first reinforcing member and a second reinforcing member that are coupled to each other with an extension flange interposed therebetween. The first reinforcing member is coupled to a vehicle outer surface of the extension flange, and the second reinforcing member is connected to the extension flange. It is good to be coupled to the inner surface of the vehicle. According to such a configuration, the above-described effects can be further enhanced.
The first reinforcing member and the second reinforcing member include a bulging portion that swells away from the extension flange in a longitudinal section in the vehicle width direction, an upper flange that extends upward from the upper end of the bulging portion, and a bulging portion. It is preferable to have a lower flange extending from the lower end of the protruding portion toward the vehicle lower side, and the upper flanges and the lower flanges of the first reinforcing member and the second reinforcing member are respectively coupled.
Thereby, since the closed cross section by a 1st reinforcement member and a 2nd reinforcement member is formed in the longitudinal cross section in a vehicle width direction, the intensity | strength (rigidity) of a 1st reinforcement member and a 2nd reinforcement member improves. Therefore, it is possible to adjust the rigidity by adjusting whether or not the closed cross section is formed, and to adjust the amount of crushing of the reinforcing member and the amount of energy absorbed.
The front pillar is disposed between the side body outer panel and the dash side panel and has a hinge reinforcement having a height extending from at least the lower end to the upper end of the dash side panel, and between the hinge reinforcement and the dash side panel in the vehicle height direction. The pillar lower reinforcement that includes the area where the extension flange is provided and the area of the pillar lower reinforcement that extends in the vehicle height direction that faces the hinge reinforcement of the pillar lower reinforcement. It is good to further provide the 3rd reinforcement member fixed to a field.
With the above configuration, the strength (rigidity) of the front pillar in the vicinity of the side body outer panel and the dash side panel, that is, the lower portion of the front pillar is improved. Thereby, the deformation | transformation at the time of a collision in a front pillar can be prevented, and it becomes possible to improve the collision safety with respect to a full lap collision. Further, by improving the strength of the lower part of the front pillar, the width in the vehicle front-rear direction of the closed cross section formed by the side body outer panel and the dash side panel can be reduced. Therefore, the front door opening constituted by the front pillar can be enlarged, and it is possible to improve the passenger's getting on and off.
The steel plates used for the dash side panel, the hinge reinforcement and the pillar lower reinforcement may have higher tensile strength than the steel plates used for the first reinforcing member and the second reinforcing member. This enhances the effect of improving the strength of the lower portion of the front pillar described above for members that use high tensile strength, i.e., steel plates that are difficult to deform, and collides with reinforcing members that use steel plates that have lower tensile strength and are easier to deform. The effect of absorbing time energy can be enhanced. Therefore, the role according to the member can be clarified, and more effective reinforcement can be performed.
According to the present invention, there is provided a front pillar that can efficiently absorb energy even in a narrow crushable zone and can ensure high collision safety without narrowing a cabin space or a cargo space. can do.

The dimensions, materials, and other specific numerical values shown in the embodiments are merely examples for facilitating understanding of the invention, and do not limit the present invention unless otherwise specified. In the present specification and drawings, elements having substantially the same function and configuration are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description is omitted, and elements not directly related to the present invention are not illustrated.
In the present embodiment, the cabin of a light truck (cab over vehicle) is illustrated as an example of the
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The
As a feature of the present embodiment, the
According to the above configuration, when the reinforcing
Further, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, the reinforcing
FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the reinforcing
By configuring the reinforcing
In the present embodiment, the first reinforcing
Further, according to the above configuration, depending on the length of the
On the other hand, when the
Further, in the present embodiment, the
Further, between the
By providing the
Further, in the present embodiment, the third reinforcing
Here, preferably, the steel plates used for the
With the above configuration, the
In addition, although the structure which provides the
Moreover, the embodiment described above is merely an example, and does not exclude other configurations. For example, the
