Description
The present invention relates to a battery pack and an electric vehicle using the battery pack.
Conventionally, a battery pack used for various devices such as an electric assist bicycle, a notebook computer, and a mobile phone is known (for example, see Patent Document 1). This battery pack accommodates a secondary battery that is used repeatedly for charging, and is detachably attached to the various devices described above.
By the way, in a battery pack for an electrically assisted bicycle, a resin case made of resin is usually used. Since this resin case has low thermal conductivity, the heat generated from the cell accumulates inside and the temperature rises. However, since the load of the secondary battery is relatively small, it is difficult to reach a high temperature to cause a serious problem. .
However, in a two-wheeled vehicle and a four-wheeled vehicle, since the vehicle weight is much heavier than that of an electrically assisted bicycle, the load on the secondary battery becomes large in order to obtain traveling energy. In addition, in a two-wheeled vehicle and a four-wheeled vehicle, a larger battery capacity is required to run for a long time in a wide area relative to the electrically assisted bicycle. This means that the problem of heat that has been allowed in electrically assisted bicycles becomes a problem in two-wheeled vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles.
Moreover, in the case of an electrically assisted bicycle, the battery pack is relatively lightweight because the number of secondary battery cells mounted therein is small. For this reason, even if the resin case is accidentally dropped during removal, the resin case can withstand the impact and is less likely to be damaged.
In contrast, battery packs for two-wheeled vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles are heavy because a large number of secondary battery cells are mounted inside. For this reason, the resin case alone cannot withstand the impact at the time of dropping, and the resin case is damaged, and in some cases, the internal secondary battery cell may be destroyed.
In such a situation, not only the merchantability is impaired, but the electrodes of the internal storage battery cells are exposed to the outside, which may cause an external short circuit.
On the other hand, in battery packs for notebook computers and mobile phones, the case is often composed only of a metal case. The metal case has a high thermal conductivity and has an effect of promoting the cooling by transmitting heat generated by the storage battery cell to the outside. For this reason, the heat dissipation efficiency is good.
Metals have a higher specific gravity and higher costs than resins, but this is not a problem with relatively small capacities for notebook computers and mobile phones. However, in a battery pack for a two-wheeled vehicle or a four-wheeled vehicle having a much larger capacity than that for an electronic device, if the case is made entirely of metal, it becomes a big problem in terms of weight and cost.
Patent Document 1 described above discloses a battery pack (battery case) covered with foamed polyurethane. In such a battery case, while being excellent in impact resistance at the time of dropping, the heat insulating property of the foamed polyurethane hinders heat radiation from inside the case. This phenomenon becomes a serious problem in a battery pack for a two-wheeled vehicle or a four-wheeled vehicle in which a storage battery generates a large amount of heat in order to drive a relatively large capacity load.
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and an object of the present invention is to provide a battery pack that is lightweight, low in cost, excellent in impact resistance, excellent in heat dissipation, and an electric vehicle using the battery pack. There is to do.
In order to achieve the above object, the following techniques are proposed here.
(1) A battery pack (for example, a
The storage battery case has a resin part (for example, a
The resin part and the metal part are a pair of container-like cover members that are open on one side facing each other, and are configured to be detachably combined with each other on the opened side and closed .
The metal part is thermally connected to the storage battery, and has an uneven part (for example, an EC part in FIG. 5 described later) on the outer surface opposite to the thermally connected side. Battery pack featured.
In the battery pack of (1) above, since the storage battery case has a resin part, it is lighter and cheaper than a battery pack made entirely of metal parts, and has excellent impact resistance because it has a metal part. Heat generated by the storage battery can be efficiently radiated by the uneven portions on the outer surface of the unit.

In the battery pack of the above (2), in particular, in the battery pack of the above (1), heat can be released to the external metal mounted portion through the metal mounting portion, the heat radiation effect is improved, and the mounting portion is Since it is made of metal, sufficient mechanical strength for mounting is ensured.

In the battery pack of (3), heat generated by the control board is effectively radiated through the metal part, particularly in the battery pack of (1).
(4) The metal portion has a portable resin handle (for example, a
In the battery pack of the above (4), in particular, in the battery pack of the above (1), the carrying work is easy with a portable handle, and even if it is dropped, the shock absorbing function and the metal part are reduced. Combined with the mechanical strength or plastic deformability (energy absorption), the damage to the storage battery case and the destruction of the internal secondary battery cell are avoided.
(5) An electric vehicle (for example, an
An electric vehicle comprising a metal attached portion (for example, a
In the electric vehicle of the above (5), the heat generated by the battery pack applied to the host vehicle can be effectively dissipated through the metal attached portion. Moreover, since the to-be-attached part is metal, sufficient mechanical strength concerning attachment is ensured.
(6) An electric device (for example, a DC /
In the electric vehicle of the above (6), in particular, in the electric vehicle of the above (5), the propagation of heat generated from the electric equipment of the own vehicle is effectively prevented by the resin portion having a low thermal conductivity in the battery case of the battery pack. Is done. For this reason, there is no possibility that the storage battery in the storage battery case of the battery pack is heated from the outside.
According to the present invention, a battery pack that is lightweight, low in cost, excellent in impact resistance, excellent in heat dissipation, and an electric vehicle using the battery pack are realized.

The
As described above, the

FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view showing the internal structure of the
Inside the
A substrate (BMU substrate) 103 of a battery management unit (BMU) is provided along one side surface of a group in which a plurality of
The control unit of the
In particular, since the above-described control unit includes a circuit unit that controls current by using an FET, heat generated by the switching operation is large.

Furthermore, what is clarified with reference to FIG. 8 is the action of the
Of the six surfaces of the substantially rectangular parallelepiped
In summary, the

Here, the
The
Further, as described with reference to FIG. 8, both the DC /
