Description
The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus, a backlight setting method, and a program.
Conventionally, imaging devices including a display unit have been widely used. Such an imaging apparatus displays a captured image on the display unit as a live view image before a recording imaging instruction is performed, or reproduces and displays the captured image on an arbitrary timing after recording.
In order to improve the visibility of such captured images, the brightness (brightness) of the backlight of the display unit is used for exposure measurement normally performed by the imaging device without newly providing a light sensor dedicated to backlight control. A technique for changing the LV (light quantity: light value) value is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
However, although the conventional imaging device including Patent Document 1 can change the brightness of the backlight by the LV value at the time of imaging, the LV value is unknown without performing exposure measurement at the time of reproduction. The brightness was fixed.
In this case, during playback, if the brightness of the backlight is fixed to be dark in order to reduce the gap between the surrounding environment in the dark environment and the luminance of the display unit, the visibility of the user is deteriorated in the bright environment. End up.
On the other hand, during playback, if the backlight brightness is fixed to be brighter with emphasis on visibility in a bright environment, the backlight becomes too bright in a dark environment such as night scene shooting, and the user feels dazzling.
As described above, the conventional imaging device including Patent Document 1 cannot set the brightness of the backlight suitable for the surrounding environment during reproduction.
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and an object of the present invention is to provide an imaging apparatus capable of setting the backlight of the display unit more effectively during image reproduction.

In order to achieve the above object, an imaging device of one embodiment of the present invention includes:
A plurality of operation modes including at least a shooting mode in which a captured image of a subject is captured by the imaging unit, and a playback mode in which the imaging operation by the imaging unit is stopped and the subject captured by the imaging unit is displayed on the display unit. Mode switching means for switching to one of the operation modes;
Backlight control means for setting the luminance of the backlight of the display means when the subject is displayed on the display means;

The backlight control means includes
When the operation mode is switched to the playback mode by the mode switching unit, the playback mode is based on brightness information specified from data of a captured image of a subject captured at a predetermined timing by the imaging unit. Setting the luminance of the backlight of the display means in a period in which is set,
It is characterized by that.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an imaging apparatus that can more effectively set the backlight of the display unit during image reproduction.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[First Embodiment]
FIG. 1 is a plan view showing an external configuration of the imaging apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
Specifically, FIG. 1A is a plan view illustrating an external configuration of the imaging device when the imaging surface and the display surface are arranged on opposite surfaces, respectively.
FIG. 1B is a plan view showing an external configuration of the imaging device when the imaging surface and the display surface are arranged on the same surface.
The imaging device 1 is configured by a digital camera, for example, and the operation mode thereof is a mode (hereinafter referred to as “imaging mode”) in which an imaging unit (
In the imaging mode, the imaging device 1 can capture an image of the user as a subject and record data of a captured image obtained as a result based on a predetermined operation for instructing shutter timing by the user. As described above, recording of captured image data is triggered by a predetermined operation by the user. Therefore, hereinafter, such an operation that triggers recording is referred to as “imaging recording instruction”.
Here, in the present embodiment, a liquid crystal display device is adopted as the
Note that the brightness (brightness) of the backlight here refers to the brightness (brightness) of the display unit determined based on the color and brightness information specified by the display target data (image data) to be displayed. In addition to the brightness of the display unit common to all display target data (image data) determined independently of the color and brightness information specified by the individual display target data (image data) ( Brightness). In the present embodiment, an example in which a liquid crystal display device is employed as the

Here, the live view image GU displayed when the operation mode of the imaging apparatus 1 is switched to the shooting mode will be described.
When the operation mode is switched to the shooting mode, the imaging device 1 first continues the imaging operation of the subject (the user U in the example of FIG. 2) by the
In addition, the imaging device 1 sequentially reads each data temporarily recorded in the memory during the live view imaging process, and sequentially displays captured images (frames) corresponding to the respective data. Such a series of control processing is hereinafter referred to as “live view display processing”.
As a result of such live view imaging processing and live view display processing, the captured image displayed on the

Note that, in order to clearly distinguish the shooting operation of the imaging apparatus 1 after the imaging recording instruction is given, that is, the storage shooting operation, from the shooting of the live view image, it is hereinafter referred to as “main shooting”.

The optical lens unit is configured by a lens that collects light, for example, a focus lens or a zoom lens, in order to photograph a subject.
The focus lens is a lens that forms a subject image on the light receiving surface of the image sensor. The zoom lens is a lens that freely changes the focal length within a certain range.
The optical lens unit is also provided with a peripheral circuit for adjusting setting parameters such as focus, exposure, and white balance as necessary.
イメージセンサは、光電変換素子や、AFE(Analog Front End)等から構成される。
光電変換素子は、例えばCMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)型の光電変換素子等から構成される。

When the operation mode is the shooting mode, the
Further, when the operation mode is the playback mode, the

Next, the operation of the imaging apparatus 1 having the functional configuration of FIG. 5 will be described with reference to FIG.
FIG. 6 is a flowchart for explaining the flow of the backlight control process according to the first embodiment, which is executed by the imaging apparatus 1 having the functional configuration of FIG.
In the example of FIG. 6, for convenience of explanation, it is assumed that there are only two types of operation modes, a shooting mode and a playback mode.
The backlight control process according to the imaging recording instruction according to the first embodiment is started when, for example, the imaging apparatus 1 is turned on and a predetermined condition is satisfied, and the following series of processes is executed.

In step S5, the

If there is an operation mode switching operation, it is determined as YES in step S9, the process returns to step S1, and the subsequent processes are repeated. That is, when the operation mode is switched to the reproduction mode, the process is returned to step S1, and then the process proceeds to step S21 to execute a series of processes described later.
On the other hand, when there is no operation mode switching operation, that is, when the photographing mode is maintained as the operation mode, it is determined as NO in Step S9, and the process proceeds to Step S10.
In step S <b> 10, the
If there is no instruction for actual photographing (recording), it is determined as NO in Step S10, and the process returns to Step S4. That is, as long as the operation mode is maintained in the shooting mode until the main shooting (recording) instruction is issued, the processes in steps S4 to S10 are repeatedly executed.
On the other hand, when there is an instruction for actual photographing (recording), it is determined as YES in Step S10, and the process proceeds to Step S11.

The backlight control process when the operation mode is the shooting mode has been described above. Next, the backlight control process when the operation mode is the reproduction mode will be described.

If there is an operation mode switching operation, it is determined as YES in step S24, and the process returns to step S1. That is, when the operation mode is switched to the shooting mode, after returning to step S1, the processes of S21 to S24 are repeated.
On the other hand, when there is no operation mode switching operation, that is, when the reproduction mode is maintained, it is determined as NO in Step S24, and the process returns to Step S22. As a result, Steps S22 to S22 are performed. The process 24 is repeated.
If the end of the operation mode is selected, for example, when the power is turned off, it is determined in step S1 that the operation mode has ended, and the backlight control process ends.

The first embodiment has been described above. Next, a second embodiment will be described.
[Second Embodiment]
The imaging device 1 according to the second embodiment can have basically the same hardware configuration as that according to the first embodiment. Therefore, FIG. 4 is also a block diagram illustrating a hardware configuration of the imaging apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment.
Further, the imaging apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment can have basically the same functional configuration as that according to the first embodiment. Therefore, FIG. 5 is also a functional block diagram showing a functional configuration of the imaging apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment.
For this reason, the description of FIGS. 4 and 5 and the portions similar to those of the first embodiment will be omitted, and only the points different from the first embodiment will be described below.
FIFO(First In,First Out)メモリに記憶されている。

Next, a backlight control process according to the second embodiment will be described as details of the operation of the imaging apparatus 1 according to the second embodiment with reference to FIG.
FIG. 7 is a flowchart for explaining the flow of the backlight control process according to the second embodiment, which is executed by the imaging apparatus 1 having the functional configuration of FIG.
The backlight control process according to the second embodiment is started when, for example, the imaging apparatus 1 is turned on and a predetermined condition is satisfied. If the operation mode is the shooting mode, step S1 with the first embodiment is performed. After the processing of steps S41 to S45 is executed as processing similar to the processing of FIG. 6 to S5 (see FIG. 6), the following series of processing is executed.

The backlight control process when the operation mode is the shooting mode has been described above. Next, the backlight control process when the operation mode is the reproduction mode will be described. In this case, in step S41, it is determined that the operation mode is the reproduction mode, the process proceeds to step S61, and the following series of processes is executed.
In step S61, the
In step S62, the
If the specified brightness range is greater than or equal to the predetermined value, it is determined as YES in Step S62, and the process proceeds to Step S64. The processing after step S64 will be described later.
On the other hand, when the specified brightness range is less than the predetermined value, it is determined as NO in Step S62, and the process proceeds to Step S63.
In step S63, the
Here, as described above, when the specified brightness range is equal to or greater than the predetermined value, it is determined as YES in Step S62, and the process proceeds to Step S64.
In step S64, the
If the power saving mode is not selected, it is determined as NO in Step S64, and the process proceeds to Step S66. The processing after step S66 will be described later.
On the other hand, when the power saving mode is selected, it is determined as YES in Step S64, and the process proceeds to Step S65.
In step S65, the
Here, as described above, when the power saving mode is not selected, it is determined as NO in Step S64, and the process proceeds to Step S66. In step S66, the
As described above, when the process of step S63, S65, or S67 ends, the process proceeds to step S67. In step S <b> 67, the
In step S68, the
In step S69, the
When there is an operation mode switching operation, it is determined as YES in Step S69, and the process returns to Step S41. That is, when the operation mode is switched to the shooting mode, after returning to step S41, the processing of S42 to S51 is repeated.
On the other hand, when there is no operation mode switching operation, that is, when the reproduction mode is maintained, it is determined as NO in Step S69, and the process returns to Step S67. As a result, Steps S67 to S67 are performed. The process 69 is repeated.
When the end of the operation mode is selected, for example, when the power is turned off, it is determined in step S41 that the operation mode has ended, and the backlight control process ends.
As described above, the
As a result, the backlight luminance can be set based on the brightness information of the subject of the captured image that was captured last, and the brightness can be set close to the ambient brightness of the imaging device 1 (subject). .

The second embodiment has been described above. Next, a third embodiment will be described.
[Third Embodiment]
The imaging apparatus 1 according to the third embodiment can have a hardware configuration basically similar to that according to the first embodiment. Therefore, FIG. 4 is also a block diagram illustrating a hardware configuration of the imaging apparatus 1 according to the third embodiment.
In addition, the imaging apparatus 1 according to the third embodiment can have basically the same functional configuration as that according to the first embodiment. Therefore, FIG. 5 is also a functional block diagram illustrating a functional configuration of the imaging apparatus 1 according to the third embodiment.
For this reason, the description of FIGS. 4 and 5 and the portions similar to those of the first embodiment will be omitted, and only the points different from the first embodiment will be described below.

Next, a backlight control process according to the third embodiment will be described as details of the operation of the imaging apparatus 1 according to the third embodiment with reference to FIG.
FIG. 8 is a flowchart for explaining the flow of the backlight control process according to the third embodiment, which is executed by the imaging apparatus 1 having the functional configuration of FIG.
The backlight control process according to the third embodiment is started when, for example, the imaging apparatus 1 is turned on and a predetermined condition is satisfied. If the operation mode is the shooting mode, steps S1 to S1 of the first embodiment are performed. After the processing of steps S101 to S110 similar to the processing of S10 (see FIG. 6) is executed, the following series of processing is executed.

The backlight control process when the operation mode is the shooting mode has been described above. Next, the backlight control process when the operation mode is the reproduction mode will be described. In this case, in step S101, it is determined that the operation mode is the reproduction mode, the process proceeds to step S113, and the following series of processes is executed.
In step S113, the

In step S115, the
If information indicating the brightness (or exposure condition) of the subject is not added to the selected captured image, it is determined as NO in step S115, and the process proceeds to step S118. The processing after step S118 will be described later.
On the other hand, when information indicating the brightness (or exposure condition) of the subject is added to the selected captured image, it is determined as YES in Step S115, and the process proceeds to Step S116.
In step S116, the
If it is not the backlight brightness individual setting mode, it is determined as NO in step S116, and the process proceeds to step S118. The processing after step S118 is the same as the processing after step S23 of the first embodiment in FIG.
On the other hand, if the backlight brightness individual setting mode is set, YES is determined in step S116, and the process proceeds to step S117.
In step S117, the
