Description
詳しくは、圧着部分を配設した充填空間に充填材を充填することで、モールドによる方法を採用しなくても、圧着部分を確実に覆うことができる。さらに、電線の絶縁被覆の外周面が当接する電線挿通孔により、電線を、電線挿通孔の内壁部に略隙間なく当接させることができる。このため、電線挿通孔に挿通された電線の位置を規制することができ、ひいては、圧着部分の充填空間内における位置を規制することができる。この場合、特別な構造を新たに設けなくても、圧着部分の位置を規制することができるため、コネクタの構造の簡素化を図ることができる。
上記構成によれば、圧着部分を充填材で確実に覆うことができる。
詳しくは、例えば、複数の圧着部分を共通に収納する1つの充填空間をハウジングに形成することが考えられるが、この場合、充填空間が複雑化及び大容量化し、その結果、充填材の充填の際、一部に気泡が形成される懸念がある。これに対し、上述したように、電線挿通孔に対応して個別に充填空間を形成すれば、各充填空間の形状を簡素化しつつ、その容量を小さくすることができるため、充填空間内に気泡を形成することなく、圧着部分を充填材で確実に覆うことができる。
図1はコネクタ1を一端側から見た斜視図を示し、図2はコネクタ1を他端側から見た斜視図を示し、図3はハウジング10及びメタルカバー11を示す分解斜視図を示し、図4は、ハウジング10を他端側から見た背面図を示す。図5はコネクタ1の縦断面図を示し、図6はコネクタ1の水平方向断面図を示す。図7、図8は、コネクタ1及び電線2の組付けを説明するための説明図を示す。なお、本明細書では、端子金具12側の端部を一端側、その反対側の電線2側の端部を他端側と定義する。また、図1、図2において、ブーツ4は、図示の便宜上、二点鎖線により透過状態で示す。
先ず、図7(a)に示すように、ハウジング10にメタルカバー11を装着する。図7(a)に示す工程では、ハウジング10の他端側をメタルカバー11の一端側から挿入する。ここでは、ハウジング10の他端側に位置する係止爪10dをメタルカバー11に挿入しようとすると、先ず、図示のように縦リブ10iの傾斜部10kがメタルカバー11の一端側縁部に当接する。そして、ハウジング10をさらに挿入すると、傾斜部10kに沿って係止爪10dが押圧されることにより、係止爪10dは、図中太矢印で示すように電線挿通孔10eの中心に向かって変位するようになっている。これにより、ハウジング10をメタルカバー11の内部に挿通することが可能になる。

Claims (3)
- 電線接続用の挿入口を備えた電気機器に対して、電線を接続するコネクタであって、
前記電線の端末部にて外部に露出する導線を圧着した端子金具と、
前記電線の端末部と前記端子金具との圧着部分を収容するハウジングと、を備え、
前記ハウジングは、前記電線の絶縁被覆の外周面が当接する電線挿通孔と、
該電線挿通孔に連通する充填空間と、を有し、
該充填空間を、前記圧着部分と対応する位置に配設し、
前記充填空間では、前記圧着部分を覆うように充填材が充填され、
前記圧着部分は、前記電線よりも大きな幅を有するとともに、
前記充填空間は、前記圧着部分の幅に対応して、前記電線挿通孔よりも大きな幅を有し、
前記電線挿通孔と前記充填空間との間には、前記電線及び圧着部分の幅に対応して段差部を形成した
コネクタ。 - 前記ハウジングは、複数本の電線の挿通を許容する複数の前記電線挿通孔を有するとともに、
該電線挿通孔に対応して、個別に前記充填空間を有する
請求項1に記載のコネクタ。 - 請求項1または2に記載のコネクタが、電気機器に備えた所定の挿入口に挿入されることにより、前記電気機器と電線とが接続された
コネクタの接続構造。
