Description
The present invention relates to a laminated coil component.
As a conventional multilayer coil component, for example, one described in
Here, in the laminated coil component, the terminal electrode covers the end surface of the element body, and wraps around the side surface of the element body to cover a part of the side surface. Here, when the spread of the terminal electrode on the side surface of the element body is large (that is, the amount of wraparound to the side surface of the element body is large), the coil portion and the terminal electrode in the element body approach each other. factor) value may be low.
The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a laminated coil component capable of obtaining a high Q value.
A multilayer coil component according to the present invention includes a coil portion formed inside a base body by a plurality of coil conductors, a terminal electrode that covers an end face of the base body and covers a part of the side face of the base body. The element body includes a coil part arrangement layer made of glass ceramics in which a coil part is arranged, and at least a pair of outermost layers provided so as to sandwich the coil part arrangement layer, thereby forming a terminal electrode A positioning layer that serves as a positioning reference, and the positioning layer is thinner than the coil portion arrangement layer, and the end surface of the coil portion arrangement layer is curved toward the inside of the element body. To do.
In the laminated coil component according to the present invention, among the end faces of the element body that forms the terminal electrodes, the end face of the coil portion arrangement layer is curved toward the inside of the element body. Therefore, when the dipping process is performed to form the terminal electrode, the electrode paste accumulates on the curved portion of the end surface of the coil portion arrangement layer, thereby suppressing the amount of electrode paste that wets to the side surface near the bottom of the curved portion. Can do. In addition, the outermost layer that is thinner than the coil portion arrangement layer and sandwiches the coil portion arrangement layer serves as a positioning layer when the terminal electrode is formed. Therefore, even if the end surface of the coil portion arrangement layer is curved, the dipping process can be performed accurately by positioning with the positioning layer. Thereby, the line property of the wraparound portion to the side surface side of the terminal electrode is improved, thereby facilitating dimensional control and preventing the wraparound portion from being too close to the coil portion. Thereby, a high Q value can be obtained.
In the multilayer coil component according to the present invention, it is preferable that the side surface of the coil portion arrangement layer is curved toward the inside of the element body. Thereby, the line property of the wraparound portion of the terminal electrode can be further improved by curving the side surface.
In the multilayer coil component according to the present invention, it is preferable that the contraction rate of the coil portion arrangement layer is larger than the contraction rate of the positioning layer. Thereby, the end surface of the coil portion arrangement layer can be curved.
In the multilayer coil component according to the present invention, the amount of depression at the end face of the curved coil portion arrangement layer is preferably 4 to 18% of the amount of wraparound of the terminal electrode to the side surface of the element body. Thereby, the terminal electrode can be thickened.
According to the present invention, the Q value of the multilayer coil component can be increased.
Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a multilayer coil component according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing a laminated coil component according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an element body of the multilayer coil component. As shown in FIG. 1, the laminated
The element body 2 is a rectangular parallelepiped or cubic laminate made of a sintered body in which a plurality of ceramic green sheets are laminated. The size of the element body 2 is set to a length of about 0.3 to 1.7 mm, a width of 0.1 to 0.9 mm, and a height of about 0.1 to 0.9 mm. The element body 2 includes a coil
The element body 2 has a pair of
The shrinkage rate due to firing of the coil
The
The
従って、コイル部配置層10の端面10aと側面10cとの間の角部に形成される稜部は、端面10a及び側面10cが湾曲していないと仮定したときにおける仮想稜部L1(一方の位置決め層11の端面11a及び側面11cの稜部と、他方の位置決め層11の端面11a及び側面11cの稜部とを結んだラインである)から、素体2の内側へ離間する。
The
The coil
The
However, the
The softening point of the coil
The

Next, a method for manufacturing the
First, a ceramic green sheet for forming the coil
Subsequently, through holes are formed by laser processing or the like at predetermined positions of each ceramic green sheet to be the coil
Subsequently, each ceramic green sheet is laminated. At this time, the ceramic green sheet to be the coil
Subsequently, the laminated body is fired at a predetermined temperature (for example, about 800 to 1150 ° C.) to form the element body 2. The firing temperature set at this time is set to be equal to or higher than the softening point of the coil
Subsequently, the
Next, the operation and effect of the
First, an
On the other hand, in the
In the
In order to increase the Q (quality factor) value of the coil, it is preferable to increase the smoothness of the surface of the coil conductor. The higher the frequency, the shallower the skin depth. In the case of a high frequency, the smoothness of the surface of the coil conductor affects the Q value. For example, as shown in FIG. 5B, when the surface of the coil conductor has low smoothness and unevenness is formed, the surface resistance of the coil conductor increases and the Q value of the coil decreases. On the other hand, if the smoothness of the surface of the coil conductor is high as shown in FIG. 5A, the surface resistance of the coil conductor is lowered, and the Q value of the coil can be increased. In the present embodiment, in order to improve the smoothness of the surfaces of the
In this embodiment, the element body is not completely non-poisonous but contains a small amount of alumina component (0.5 to 2.4% by weight). Therefore, a smooth surface as shown in FIG. As described above, the term “amorphous” as used herein corresponds to a part containing a crystalline substance in a small amount.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, the laminated coil component having one coil part is illustrated, but for example, it may have a plurality of coil parts in an array.
