Description
The present invention relates to a light source device, a lighting device, and a display device.
Conventionally, a display device including a liquid crystal panel and an illumination device used as a backlight of the liquid crystal panel is known. In order to reduce the thickness of the display device, the lighting device is being reduced in thickness. As a lighting device suitable for achieving a reduction in thickness, a lighting device having a light guide plate and a light source device disposed on the side of the light guide plate is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
In an example described in Patent Document 1, a light source device is provided on a substrate in order to supply a power to the light emitting device, a strip-shaped substrate, a plurality of light emitting devices arranged along the longitudinal direction of the substrate, and the light emitting device. Power supply means. The light emitting element is, for example, a light emitting diode (hereinafter referred to as LED). The energizing means includes, for example, a wiring pattern connected to the light emitting element and a Zener diode for preventing an excessive reverse voltage from being applied to the light emitting element. This light source device is combined with the light guide plate so that the substrate faces the side surface of the light guide plate to constitute an illumination device. Such an illumination device is incorporated in a display device such that the light guide plate overlaps the liquid crystal panel.
When such a configuration is employed, in order to reduce the thickness of the lighting device, it is necessary to reduce not only the light guide plate but also the thickness of the light source device. According to the above-described configuration, the thickness of the light source device is restricted by the width dimension in the short direction of the substrate. However, it is necessary to secure a space for installing the light emitting element and the energizing means, and there is a limit in reducing the width dimension of the substrate.
The present invention has been conceived under the circumstances described above, and a light source device capable of achieving further reduction in thickness while securing the installation space for the light emitting element and the energizing means, It is an object of the present invention to provide an illumination device including a light source device and a display device including such an illumination device.

The illumination device provided by the second aspect of the present invention includes the light source device provided by the first aspect of the present invention and a light guide plate having a side surface facing the first plate-like portion. It is characterized by.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light guide plate has an exit surface that intersects the side surface, and a back surface that faces the opposite side of the exit surface, and the second plate-shaped portion includes the back surface. Opposite.

The display device provided by the third aspect of the present invention includes an illumination device provided by the second aspect of the present invention, a display panel installed to overlap the light guide plate, the display panel, and the illumination. And a housing for housing the apparatus.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light source device is supported by the housing.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the housing has a bottom plate parallel to the display panel, and the second plate-like portion is supported by the bottom plate.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a heat radiating member sandwiched between the second plate-like portion and the bottom plate is provided.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the casing has a side plate that stands up with respect to the bottom plate, and the first plate-like portion is supported by the side plate.
According to such a configuration, the number of parts that must be installed on the first plate-like portion can be reduced by installing the energizing means on the second plate-like portion. For this reason, it becomes possible to make the width dimension of the said 1st plate-shaped part smaller than before. Furthermore, for example, if the second plate-like portion is configured to be orthogonal to the first plate-like portion, the size of the light source device in a specific direction can be reduced. When the light source device is incorporated into an illumination device having a light guide plate, the light source device and the light guide plate can be combined so that the width direction of the first plate-shaped portion is along the thickness direction of the illumination device. That's fine. By doing so, it becomes easy to prevent the second plate-like portion from being parallel to the light guide plate and increasing the thickness of the lighting device. Therefore, the light source device according to the present invention can reduce the thickness of the lighting device, and further contributes to the reduction in the thickness of the display device in which the lighting device is incorporated.

The

As shown in FIG. 4, the

The
The
The
The
The

Next, operations of the
In the
By arranging such a
When a display device similar to the
The side view type LED device has a lens, for example, and tends to have a relatively strong directivity of irradiation light. As described above, when a plurality of LED devices are arranged in the x direction, the x direction It becomes easy to attach the intensity of the illumination light along. In addition, when mounting a plurality of LED devices, it is necessary to provide a certain distance between the LED devices so that adjacent LED devices do not interfere with each other, and this is also along the x direction. This was one of the causes of the intensity of the illumination light. As described above, when the side view type LED device is used, unevenness may occur in the illumination light. In order to suppress this unevenness, it is necessary to separate the
In this regard, the
As described above, the
In the present embodiment, the
The
In the present embodiment, a plurality of
