Description
The technology disclosed here relates to a control device for a turbocharged engine.
By the way, the turbine of a small turbocharger has an expansion ratio that increases as the amount of inflow into the turbine increases. However, when the amount of inflow exceeds a predetermined amount, the amount of inflow does not increase and only the expansion ratio increases. Have. Further, as the expansion of the turbine increases, the turbine efficiency gradually decreases. Above a predetermined expansion ratio (in other words, a predetermined inflow amount), the turbine efficiency becomes substantially constant at a relatively low value. Therefore, at the time of acceleration transient that shifts from the operation region that operates the small turbocharger to the operation region that operates the large turbocharger, the inflow amount to the small turbine increases as the exhaust flow rate increases. Adjusting the opening degree of the regulating valve to an opening degree corresponding to the exhaust gas flow rate is advantageous in increasing the turbine efficiency.
However, the region where the small turbocharger operates is the region on the low rotation side or the region on the low load side of the low rotation, while the region on the low rotation side or the region on the low load side of the low rotation. In this region, for example, EGR for returning part of the burned gas to the intake air may be performed for the purpose of improving exhaust emission performance or increasing the temperature in the cylinder in a diesel engine. In the EGR referred to here, a part of the burned gas is controlled by controlling the operation of at least one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve, and the external EGR means for returning the burned gas to the intake air via the EGR passage. Although internal EGR means for remaining in the cylinder is included, when any of the EGR means is operated, a part of the burned gas discharged from the cylinder is returned to the intake air, so that it is supplied to the small turbine. The exhaust flow rate decreases accordingly. For this reason, as the operation and non-operation of the EGR means are switched, the inflow amount flowing into the small turbine greatly changes regardless of the opening degree of the regulating valve.
Therefore, when the region shifts between the region in which the small turbocharger operates as described above and the region in which the large turbocharger operates, the EGR means that has been operating until then is inactive. If, on the contrary, the EGR means that has been inactive is activated, the amount of inflow flowing into the small turbine is greatly changed, and as a result, the efficiency of the small turbine may be reduced. Therefore, there is a need for a measure that does not reduce the efficiency of the small turbine while accommodating the operation and non-operation of the EGR means.
The technology disclosed herein has been made in view of the above points, and the object of the technology is to control the opening degree of the regulating valve corresponding to the operation and non-operation of the EGR means, thereby reducing the size of the turbocharger. The purpose is to avoid a decrease in the turbine efficiency of the turbocharger.
A turbocharger-equipped engine control device disclosed herein includes an engine, a small turbine disposed in an exhaust passage of the engine, and a small turbocharger disposed in an intake passage of the engine A large turbine disposed downstream of the small turbine in the exhaust passage, a large turbocharger having a large compressor disposed in the intake passage, and the large turbine bypassing the small turbine A regulating valve that is arranged in a bypass passage for guiding exhaust gas to the exhaust gas and that is configured to adjust the amount of inflow flowing into the small turbine by adjusting the opening thereof, and on the upstream side of the small turbine The EGR means configured to return a part of the exhaust gas of the engine to the intake air, and the regulation And a controller configured to operate the engine through the control of the lube and EGR means.
The controller is configured to burn the burned gas discharged from the cylinder of the engine when the region shifts between a region where the small turbocharger operates and a region where the large turbocharger operates. Based on the exhaust gas flow rate obtained by subtracting the burnt gas flow rate returned to the engine by the operation of the EGR means from the flow rate, the opening degree of the regulating valve is set so that the efficiency of the small turbine maintains a predetermined value.
Here, “ the exhaust gas flow rate obtained by subtracting the burnt gas flow rate returned to the engine by the operation of the EGR means from the burnt gas flow rate discharged from the cylinder of the engine ” means that when the EGR means is operating, The flow rate of burned gas discharged from the engine is subtracted from the flow rate of burned gas returned to the intake air by the operation of the EGR means. When the EGR means is not operating, the flow rate of burned gas returned to the engine is zero. because there, the flow amount of the burnt gas discharged from the cylinders. Thus, the exhaust gas flow rate supplied to the small turbine greatly varies depending on whether the EGR means is activated or deactivated. The “inflow amount flowing into the small turbine” corresponds to the exhaust flow rate actually flowing into the small turbine, and is determined by the “exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine” and the opening degree of the regulating valve. Become.
As described above, the turbine of the small turbocharger has low turbine efficiency in an operating state where the flow rate is equal to or greater than the predetermined inflow amount. Therefore, the controller is configured to control the small turbine based on the exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine. The opening degree of the regulating valve is set so that the efficiency maintains a predetermined value. As a result, for example, when the vehicle transitions from acceleration to small turbocharger operation region and shifts from the large turbocharger operation region to the large turbocharger operation region, the opening of the regulator valve is increased as the exhaust flow rate increases. Increasingly, the inflow amount actually flowing into the small turbine is maintained so as not to exceed the predetermined inflow amount. Thus, the efficiency of the small turbine is maintained at a predetermined value, and a decrease in turbine efficiency is suppressed.
As described above, the exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine includes the operation and non-operation of the EGR means. Therefore, if the opening degree of the regulating valve is set based on the exhaust flow rate, the operation and non-operation of the EGR means are performed. Therefore, the opening degree of the regulating valve is set. That is, when the exhaust gas flow supplied to the small turbine increases with the stop of the EGR means that has been operating until then, the amount of inflow into the small turbine is increased by increasing the opening of the regulator valve. To prevent the increase. Conversely, when the exhaust gas flow supplied to the small turbine decreases with the operation of the EGR means that has been stopped until then, the amount of inflow into the small turbine is reduced by reducing the opening of the regulator valve. To increase. Thus, by adjusting the opening of the regulating valve so that the efficiency of the small turbine does not decrease in response to the operation and non-operation of the EGR means, it is advantageous for improving the fuel consumption.
This is because the exhaust flow rate gradually increases as the engine load and / or rotation speed increases, especially during transitions between the operating range of the small turbocharger and the operating range of the large turbocharger. Increases the efficiency of the small turbocharger by optimizing the opening of the regulator valve during acceleration transients that shift from the operating area of the small turbocharger to the operating area of the large turbocharger This is particularly effective in avoiding the problem, and this improves fuel efficiency.
The EGR means includes an external EGR passage that communicates the upstream side of the small turbine in the exhaust passage and the downstream side of the small compressor in the intake passage, and an external having an EGR valve that adjusts the flow rate of the external EGR passage. EGR means and internal EGR means configured to cause a part of burnt gas to remain in the cylinder of the engine by controlling the operation of at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve provided in the engine. It may be included.
Whether the external EGR means is activated or the internal EGR means is activated, a part of the burned gas returns to the intake air, and the inflow amount of the small turbine is reduced accordingly. That is, in the above configuration, the small turbocharger can be operated with high efficiency in consideration of the operation and non-operation of the external EGR means and the operation and non-operation of the internal EGR means.
As described above, according to the control device for an engine with a turbocharger, based on the exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine, the opening degree of the regulator valve is adjusted so that the efficiency of the small turbine is maintained at a predetermined value. By adjusting, it becomes possible to optimize the opening degree of the regulating valve corresponding to the operation and non-operation of the EGR means, avoiding a decrease in turbine efficiency, which is advantageous for improving fuel efficiency.
Hereinafter, the diesel engine which concerns on embodiment is demonstrated based on drawing. The following description of the preferred embodiment is merely exemplary in nature. 1 and 2 show a schematic configuration of an engine (engine body) 1 according to the embodiment. The

以下、VVM(Variable Valve Motion)と称する)が設けられている。
In the valve systems that drive these intake and

(Regulator valve control)
FIG. 4 shows an example of the characteristics of the small turbine 62 b of the
In consideration of such turbine characteristics, if it is attempted to avoid a decrease in turbine efficiency, the expansion ratio becomes equal to or less than a predetermined value as shown by the white arrow in FIG. )), In other words, it is desirable to adjust the opening of the regulating
The exhaust gas flow rate supplied to the small turbine 62b changes according to the operating state of the
In
In
Then, the exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine 62b is calculated by subtracting the internal EGR flow rate and the external EGR flow rate from the exhaust flow rate discharged from the exhaust manifold (block 104). Thus, the exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine 62b is calculated in consideration of the operation and non-operation of the internal EGR and the operation and non-operation of the external EGR.
If the exhaust flow rate supplied to the small turbine 62b is calculated, the basic opening area (opening) AO of the regulating
Thus, although the opening degree of the regulating
Then, at
Thus, by setting the opening degree of the regulating
In particular, at the time of acceleration transient in which the operation region (A) of the small turbocharger is shifted to the operation region (B) of the large turbocharger, an intermediate point between the one-dot chain line and the solid line shown in FIG. In the range of opening, it is possible to optimize the opening of the regulating
