Description
The present invention relates to a drill used for drilling a resin material. More specifically, the present invention relates to a drill that has a function of supplying coolant to a blade part and is used for high-precision deep hole machining in a resin material.
In recent years, the need for high-precision deep hole machining has increased in the field of drilling resin materials. For example, in the medical and biotechnology fields, the use of resin materials in parts having flow paths for chemicals and the like is increasing for medical devices and culture apparatuses from the viewpoint of corrosion resistance, weight reduction, and the like. Here, if there are fine irregularities on the inner wall of the hole that becomes the flow path of the chemical solution, it causes proliferation of germs and residual chemical solution, and also causes variations in the flow of the chemical solution and the like. Therefore, in order to prevent the growth of various bacteria, prevent the chemical solution from remaining, and keep the flow of the chemical solution constant, the surface of the inner wall of the hole against the resin parts used in medical equipment and culture devices Drilling with good roughness is required.
In addition, resin parts having a paint flow path are used in an automobile painting line, and painting is performed by automatically changing the color to a color designated for a car flowing through the painting line. Here, if the surface roughness of the inner wall of the hole serving as the paint flow path is poor, it takes time to clean the flow path for color change, and the amount of the solvent used for the cleaning also increases. For this reason, drilling with good surface roughness of the hole inner wall is required for resin parts used in the painting line.
As described above, there is an increasing need for high-precision deep hole machining for resin materials, but since the market scale is small, there are no commercially available drills for resin. Then, deep hole processing to a resin material has been made by diverting a metal drill such as a gun drill or a twist drill.
In deep hole machining with a gun drill, cutting is performed by rotating the drill while supplying high-pressure coolant with a pump, and ejecting the coolant from the blade tip through a hole formed in the drill. Then, chips are put on the coolant flow, and the chips are sent out through a V-shaped groove formed outside the rotating shank.
The gun drill can be diverted to high-precision deep hole machining for resin materials, but deep hole machining using a gun drill requires a high-pressure pump for supplying coolant. For this reason, a general machine tool that does not include a high-pressure pump cannot perform deep hole machining using a gun drill, and deep hole machining using a gun drill lacks versatility. In addition, deep hole machining with a gun drill has a problem that the cutting speed is slow.
On the other hand, in the twist drill, since the chips are sent out by a chip discharge groove formed by twisting, a high-pressure pump is not necessary for discharging chips. The coolant is supplied to the blade tip through an oil hole that is twisted inside the blade portion and opens at the tip surface of the blade portion. However, when the twist drill is diverted to deep hole machining for a resin material, various problems occur in the accuracy of the hole formed due to the difference in properties between the metal that is the work material and the resin.
In the twist drill, the margin of contact between the outer peripheral surface of the drill and the work material is narrowed to reduce the contact resistance between the drill and the work material. The margin width of the twist drill is about 10% of the outer peripheral surface. In the case of a metal material, since the rigidity is high, even if the margin has a narrow width in contact with the inner wall surface of the hole, there is little problem in the straightness of the formed hole. However, when the work material is resin, the resin material is softer than the metal material, so if the margin width is narrow, the width at which the outer peripheral surface of the drill comes into contact with the inner wall surface of the hole is narrowed, causing chatter and whip. As a result, the cutting surface is roughened, causing problems in the straightness of the formed hole and the surface roughness of the inner wall surface of the hole.
In addition, since chips are sheared in metal materials, it is relatively easy to discharge from the hole of the chips, but since resin is more viscous than metal, chips are soft and sticky in resin materials and are not sheared. Therefore, the discharge from the chip hole is poor.
And since resin becomes softer at a lower temperature than metal, the resin material becomes soft due to processing heat during drilling, and the inner wall surface of the hole is easily damaged. In the case of a metal material, up to about 400 ° C. can be tolerated, but in the case of a resin, since it tends to be damaged at about 130 ° C., the finished surface is likely to be worse than that of a metal. And in a resin material, the thermosetting of a chip | tip is large and it is easy to damage the inner wall face of the hole softened by the processing heat by the chip. Further, in the processing of the resin material, when dry cutting is performed, the surface roughness is lowered and the blade portion is deteriorated due to the generation of static electricity. Therefore, it is considered essential to supply the coolant to the blade portion.
Here, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-205212 (Patent Document 1) discloses a drill in which the outer peripheral surface of the drill blade portion excluding the chip discharge groove has a margin. The drill described in Patent Document 1 attempts to improve the straightness of the hole by taking a wide margin.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-205214 (Patent Document 2) describes a reverse twist groove with a finish blade that twists in the opposite direction to the cutting edge, with all the outer peripheral surface of the drill blade except the chip discharge groove as a margin. The drill formed in the outer peripheral surface of the part is disclosed. The drill described in Patent Document 2 is intended to improve the straightness of the hole by taking a wide margin, and by re-cutting the hole with a finishing blade, thereby improving the surface roughness of the inner wall surface of the hole. It is intended to realize high-precision deep hole machining.
As a technique for supplying coolant to the blade portion, JP-A-5-57517 (Patent Document 3) discloses a groove for supplying cutting oil to the cutting blade at the tip of the drill. In addition, in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 4-2743 (Patent Document 4), as a technique for guiding the coolant from the shank portion to the chip discharge groove, chips are formed from the rear end of the shank portion along the longitudinal direction of the drill on the outer periphery of the shank portion. A groove extending to the discharge groove is disclosed.
According to the drills described in Patent Documents 1 and 2, it is considered that the straightness of the hole can be improved in making a hole in the resin material by widening the margin. However, in the drilling process for the resin material, as described above, the chips are soft and sticky and have a belt shape, so that the chip dischargeability is poor. Here, in the drills described in Patent Documents 1 and 2, since the bottom of the cross section orthogonal to the axis of the chip discharge groove is concave, it is considered that chips are likely to be clogged. And in the drill of patent document 2, it is thought that a chip | tip catches on a finishing blade, damages the inner wall face of a hole, and will reduce surface roughness on the contrary.
Further, as described above, the resin material is characterized by being softened and easily damaged by the heat generated during drilling. In the drills described in Patent Documents 1 and 2, the frictional heat increases by widening the margin, so that the inner wall surface of the hole is more likely to be damaged. Further, in the processing of the resin material, as described above, it is considered that supply of coolant to the blade portion is indispensable in order to prevent reduction in surface roughness due to generation of static electricity and deterioration of the blade portion. Does not mention coolant. And if coolant is not supplied, the chip of resin material will be heated and hardened by processing heat, and it will become easy to damage the inner wall surface of a hole.
Therefore, it is considered difficult to use the drills described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 for high-precision deep hole machining on a resin material.
In the drills described in Patent Documents 3 and 4, coolant can be supplied to the blade portion and the blade edge. However, since the margin is narrow, the straightness of the hole is ensured in the drilling process for the resin material. Since the chip discharge groove is narrow, it is considered that chips are likely to be clogged.
The present invention is proposed in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, and the problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a drill used for high-precision deep hole processing on a resin material.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the inventors of the present application have developed a drill suitable for high-precision deep hole processing on a resin material as a result of intensive studies. And the drill concerning this invention takes the following means.
First, the first invention of the present invention is a drill having a blade portion on the front end side and a shank portion on the rear end side,
A single chip discharge groove that twists around the rotation axis of the drill is formed from the tip of the blade portion toward the shank portion side, and the chip discharge groove is formed from the shank portion side toward the tip of the blade portion. Twisted in the direction of rotation,
A cutting blade is formed on the cross ridge line portion between the side surface of the chip discharge groove facing the rotation direction of the drill and the outer peripheral surface of the blade portion,
The shape of the cross section of the blade portion perpendicular to the rotation axis of the drill is a half-moon shape, the outer peripheral surface excluding the chip discharge groove of the blade portion is a margin as a whole,
In the margin, a sub-groove for supplying coolant to the blade portion is formed by twisting in the direction opposite to the chip discharge groove around the rotation axis of the drill from the shank portion side toward the tip end side of the blade portion. And
The sub-groove is configured such that at least one of both end portions in the axial direction opens to the chip discharge groove,
A drill used for drilling a resin material, wherein the shank portion is formed with a coolant guide groove that is twisted around the rotation axis of the drill in the same direction as the auxiliary groove and circulates around the outer peripheral surface of the shank portion. It is.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, since the entire outer peripheral surface of the drill blade except for the chip discharge groove is a margin, the margin is wide, so that the straightness of the hole can be improved. And since the blade part is made into one twisted crescent shape, a chip discharge groove also becomes twisted crescent shape. Therefore, since the ratio of the chip discharge groove is large, a large amount of chips can be discharged, so that the cutting efficiency can be increased. Further, since there is no narrowed portion in the chip discharge groove, chips are not easily clogged. Further, since the chip discharge groove is twisted in the positive rotation direction of the drill, there is an effect of sending out the chip, so that the chip can be discharged efficiently. Moreover, since the ratio of the chip discharge groove is large and a large amount of chips can be temporarily held, it is possible to increase the depth of cutting once in the step processing.
And, since the minor groove is twisted in the direction opposite to the forward rotation direction of the drill and is configured to not easily bite into the inner wall of the hole, it is possible to prevent the inner wall surface of the hole from being damaged by the edge portion of the minor groove. .
The sub-groove formed in the margin is twisted in the opposite direction to the chip discharge groove and opens in the chip discharge groove. Therefore, when the drill rotates in the forward direction and drilling proceeds and the blade enters the hole being processed, coolant supplied to the blade from the outside enters the sub-groove and is supplied to the inside of the hole. Then, centrifugal force acts on the coolant that has entered the sub-groove, and the coolant flows through the sub-groove to the tip of the drill through the surface portion of the chip discharge groove. Therefore, the coolant is supplied to the drill blade, the inner wall surface of the hole, and the tip of the hole, reducing friction between the drill and the hole, cooling the blade portion and the inner wall of the hole, and preventing the roughness of the inner wall of the hole. Can be prevented.
And in deep hole machining exceeding the length of the blade part, the coolant supplied from the outside to the shank part is changed to coolant even when the hole machining progresses and the whole blade part enters the hole being machined. The coolant is supplied to the blade portion of the drill, the inner wall surface of the hole, and the tip portion of the hole by receiving the guide groove, guiding it to the blade portion, and flowing it to the auxiliary groove. Since the coolant guide groove is inclined with respect to the tool axis and circulates around the shank portion, the opening area is wide and the coolant is easily received. Further, since the coolant guiding groove is twisted in the direction opposite to the rotation direction of the tool, it is difficult to bite into the inner wall of the hole, and the coolant can be efficiently fed to the drill blade side by the pump action by centrifugal force. Therefore, in deep hole machining that exceeds the length of the blade, coolant can be supplied to the blade, reducing friction, cooling the blade, the inner wall of the hole, and the tip of the hole, and roughening the inner wall of the hole. It is possible to prevent the surface roughness from being lowered.
And since the coolant is supplied between the shank part and the blade part and the inner wall surface of the hole, it is possible to prevent the surface roughness of the hole inner wall from being lowered and the blade part from being deteriorated by static electricity due to the effect of removing the static electricity from the coolant. it can.
Therefore, according to the first aspect of the present invention, it is possible to provide a drill used for high-accuracy deep hole processing on a resin material.
Next, 2nd invention of this invention is a drill which concerns on the said 1st invention, Comprising: Groove length L of the said drill is 3 times or more and 10 times or less of the outer diameter D of the said blade part. Features.
If the groove length L of the drill is 3 times or more the outer diameter D of the blade portion, it is possible to perform deep hole processing by reliably discharging chips by step processing. Moreover, if the groove length L of the drill is 10 times or less the outer diameter D of the blade portion, the rigidity of the drill is sufficiently maintained.
Next, a third invention of the present invention is the drill according to the first invention or the second invention, wherein the ratio ds / of the sectional area ds of the blade portion to the area S of the outer circumference of the blade portion. S is 50% or more and 60% or less.
If the cross-sectional area of the blade portion is 50% or more of the area of the outer circumference circle, sufficient strength for drilling the resin material can be secured. Moreover, if the cross-sectional area of the blade portion is 60% or less of the area of the outer circumference circle, the cross-sectional area of the chip discharge groove is sufficiently secured, so that chip can be effectively discharged.
Next, a fourth invention of the present invention is the drill according to any one of the first to third inventions, wherein the twist angle θ of the sub-groove is relative to the rotation axis of the drill. It is 45 degrees or more and 80 degrees or less, and the twist angle θ2 of the coolant guide groove is 45 degrees or more and 80 degrees or less.
When the torsion angle θ of the sub-groove with respect to the rotation axis of the drill is 45 degrees or more, the sub-groove is less likely to bite into the inner wall of the hole, and chips are less likely to get caught at the edge of the sub-groove. Further, when the twist angle θ is set to 80 degrees or less, the coolant easily flows to the tip portion of the drill by centrifugal force, and the friction at the tip portion of the hole can be effectively reduced and cooled. If the torsion angle θ of the coolant guiding groove is 45 degrees or more, the coolant guiding groove is less likely to bite against the inner wall of the hole, and the inner wall surface of the hole can be prevented from being damaged by the coolant guiding groove. Can be received efficiently. Moreover, if the torsion angle θ of the coolant guide groove is set to 80 degrees or less, the coolant can easily flow toward the blade portion of the drill due to the pumping action due to the centrifugal force.
Next, a fifth invention of the present invention is a method for manufacturing a drill according to any one of the first to fourth inventions, wherein the drill is formed at the intersection of the side surface of the auxiliary groove and the margin. The edge portion is not sharpened, and the edge portion formed at the intersection of the side surface of the sub-groove and the margin intersects the cutting blade formed in the blade portion. It is characterized in that chamfering or rounding is performed.
Since the edge portion of the sub-groove is not sharpened, the chips are not easily caught on the edge portion of the sub-groove, and the chips can be prevented from being caught on the edge portion of the sub-groove and damaging the inner wall surface of the hole. And in the part where the cutting edge formed in the blade part intersects with the edge part of the sub-groove, the edge part is chamfered or rounded. It is possible to prevent damage to the inner wall of the hole due to damage or chipping of the cutting blade at the relevant part.
Next, a sixth invention of the present invention is a drill having a blade portion on the front end side and a shank portion on the rear end side, and is about a rotation axis of the drill from the front end of the blade portion toward the shank portion side. A single chip discharge groove is formed which twists in a straight direction of the drill from the shank part side toward the tip of the blade part,
A cutting blade is formed on the cross ridge line portion between the side surface of the chip discharge groove facing the rotation direction of the drill and the outer peripheral surface of the blade portion,
The shape of the cross section of the blade portion perpendicular to the rotation axis of the drill is a half-moon shape, the outer peripheral surface excluding the chip discharge groove of the blade portion is a margin as a whole,
In the margin, a sub-groove for supplying coolant to the blade portion is formed by twisting in the direction opposite to the chip discharge groove around the rotation axis of the drill from the shank portion side toward the tip end side of the blade portion. And
The sub-grooves are formed to be scattered on the margin, and the side surfaces of the sub-groove are closed on the margin,
A drill used for drilling a resin material, wherein the shank portion is formed with a coolant guide groove that is twisted around the rotation axis of the drill in the same direction as the auxiliary groove and circulates around the outer peripheral surface of the shank portion. It is.
According to the sixth aspect of the invention, since the entire outer peripheral surface excluding the chip discharge groove of the drill blade portion is a margin, the margin is wide, so that the straightness of the hole can be improved.
And, since the minor groove is twisted in the direction opposite to the forward rotation direction of the drill and is configured to not easily bite into the inner wall of the hole, it is possible to prevent the inner wall surface of the hole from being damaged by the edge portion of the minor groove. .
The side surfaces of the sub-grooves formed in the margin are closed on the margin. Therefore, when the drill rotates in the forward direction and the drilling progresses and the blade enters the hole being processed, the blade holds the coolant supplied from the outside in the sub-groove formed on the margin and Go inside. Therefore, coolant is supplied from the sub-groove between the drill blade and the inner wall surface of the drill to reduce friction and cool the blade and inner wall of the hole to prevent roughening of the inner wall of the hole and prevent a decrease in surface roughness. be able to.
In addition, since the chips attached to the inner wall of the hole are washed away by the coolant held in the auxiliary groove and remain in the auxiliary groove, it is possible to prevent the inner wall of the hole from being damaged by the chips attached to the inner wall of the hole. In addition, when chattering or the like occurs during machining, collision of the drill with the inner wall surface of the drill from the coolant held in the sub-groove is suppressed, and the inner wall of the hole is protected.
And in deep hole machining exceeding the length of the blade part, even if the machining progresses and the whole blade part enters the hole being machined, the coolant supplied from the outside to the shank part is supplied to the coolant guide groove. Is received and guided to the blade portion, and coolant can be supplied to the blade portion of the drill and the inner wall surface of the hole. Since the coolant guiding groove is inclined with respect to the tool axis and circulates around the shank portion, the opening area of the groove is wide and the coolant is easily received. Moreover, since it is twisted in the direction opposite to the rotation direction of the tool, it is difficult to bite into the inner wall of the hole, and the coolant can be efficiently fed to the blade portion side of the drill by the pump action by centrifugal force. Therefore, in deep hole machining exceeding the length of the blade, coolant can be supplied to the blade, reducing friction, cooling the blade and the inner wall of the hole, preventing roughening of the inner wall of the hole, and reducing the surface roughness. Decline can be prevented.
Further, the effect of removing the static electricity by the coolant can prevent the surface roughness of the hole inner wall from being lowered and the blade portion from being deteriorated by the static electricity.
Therefore, according to the sixth aspect of the invention, it is possible to provide a drill used for high-precision deep hole processing on a resin material.

According to each invention of the present invention described above, the following effects can be obtained.
First, according to the above-described first invention, the straight advanceability of the hole can be improved, chips are less likely to be clogged, and chip discharge efficiency is good. And the depth of cut once in step processing can be taken large. Moreover, it can prevent that the inner wall surface of a hole is damaged by the edge part of a subgroove. Then, coolant is supplied to the blade edge of the drill, the inner wall surface of the hole, and the tip of the hole through the secondary groove to reduce the friction between the drill and the hole, cool the blade part and the hole inner wall, and The roughness of the surface can be prevented and the surface roughness can be prevented from being lowered. And also in the deep hole processing exceeding the length of a blade part, the coolant received with the coolant guidance groove | channel can be sent to a blade part by a pump action. In addition, due to the effect of removing the coolant from static electricity, it is possible to prevent the surface roughness of the hole inner wall from being lowered and the blade portion from being deteriorated due to static electricity. Therefore, the drill used for the highly accurate deep hole processing to the resin material can be provided.
Next, according to the above-mentioned second invention, it is possible to perform deep hole processing by reliably discharging chips by step processing. Moreover, the rigidity of the drill can be sufficiently maintained.
Next, according to the above-mentioned third invention, it is possible to ensure a sufficient strength for drilling a resin material. Moreover, since the cross-sectional area of the chip discharge groove is sufficiently ensured, chips can be effectively discharged.
Next, according to the above-described fourth invention, the sub-groove is less likely to bite into the inner wall of the hole, and chips are less likely to be caught on the edge portion of the sub-groove. Further, the centrifugal force makes it easy for the coolant to flow to the tip portion of the drill, and friction at the tip portion of the hole can be effectively reduced and cooled. And it becomes difficult for a coolant guidance groove to bite into the inner wall of a hole, and it can prevent that an inner wall surface of a hole is damaged by a coolant guidance groove, and can receive coolant efficiently. Further, the coolant easily flows to the blade portion side of the drill by the pumping action due to the centrifugal force.
Next, according to the above-mentioned fifth invention, it is possible to prevent the chips from being caught on the edge portion of the sub-groove, and the chips from being caught on the edge portion of the sub-groove to damage the inner wall surface of the hole. And the damage to the hole inner wall by the cutting blade of the site | part which cross | intersects the edge part of a subgroove, and the damage to the hole inner wall by a chip | tip being caught by a cutting blade in the said site | part can be suppressed.
Moreover, according to the above-mentioned 6th invention, the improvement of the rectilinear advance of a hole can be aimed at, it is hard to clog a chip, and the discharge efficiency of a chip is good. And the depth of cut once in step processing can be taken large. Further, the inner wall surface of the hole can be prevented from being damaged by the biting of the edge portion of the sub groove. The coolant held in the sub-groove is supplied to the drill blade and the inner wall surface of the hole to reduce the friction between the drill and the hole and cool the blade and the hole inner wall to prevent roughening of the hole inner wall. A decrease in roughness can be prevented. And since the chips adhering to the inner wall of the hole are washed away by the coolant held in the sub-groove and remain in the sub-groove, it is possible to prevent the inner wall of the hole from being damaged by the chips adhering to the inner wall of the hole. In addition, when chattering or the like occurs during machining, collision of the drill with the inner wall surface of the drill from the coolant held in the sub-groove is suppressed, and the inner wall of the hole is protected.
Hereinafter, modes for carrying out the present invention will be described according to examples.

そして、ドリル10の溝長L(刃部12の先端から切屑排出面32のシャンク部30側の端までの長さ)は、刃部12の外径Dの約8.5倍とされている。

[Effect of Example 1]
According to the
In the
The sub-groove 20 formed in the

Therefore, the
As described above, in the deep hole processing of the resin material by the
Further, since the

FIG. 7 is a side view of the
As shown in FIG. 7, the
そして、ドリル10cの溝長L(刃部12cの先端から切屑排出面32cのシャンク部30c側の端までの長さ)は25mmであり、刃部12cの外径Dの約8.3倍である。

[Effect of Example 4]
Using the
Compared to the comparative example, the surface roughness of the hole is greatly improved in Example 4 because the coolant is pushed in by the pump action by providing a coolant guide groove that is twisted in the direction opposite to the rotation direction of the drill. This is because the coolant is sufficiently supplied to the blade. On the other hand, in the comparative example, the pumping action due to the centrifugal force does not work in the coolant guide groove parallel to the rotation axis of the drill, and the coolant is not sufficiently pushed. For this reason, the supply of coolant to the blade portion was insufficient, and the surface roughness of the hole was an order of magnitude larger than that in Example 4. Thus, by providing the coolant guide groove twisted in the direction opposite to the rotation direction of the drill, there is a remarkable effect on the improvement of the surface roughness.
According to the
And since the

In addition, since fine chips adhering to the inner wall of the hole are washed away by the coolant held in the sub-groove 20c and remain in the sub-groove 20c, the inner wall of the hole is damaged by the fine chips adhering to the inner wall of the hole. Can be prevented. Further, when chattering or the like occurs during machining, the collision of the

[Effect of Example 5]
Since the configuration of the sub-groove 20d of the fifth embodiment is the same as that of the sub-groove 20 of the first embodiment, as described in the first embodiment, the effect of preventing the inner wall surface of the hole from being damaged and the coolant is fed to the tip of the drill. It has the effect of lubricating and cooling the blade part and the inner wall of the hole, and the effect of preventing the surface roughness of the hole inner wall from being lowered by static electricity and the deterioration of the blade part and the blade edge.

And since the
Therefore, according to the

[Other Embodiments]
In each of the above-described embodiments, a half-moon shaped chip discharge surface is formed at the end of the chip discharge groove on the shank portion side following the twisted half-moon shaped groove. A straight groove having a semicircular cross section and no twisting may be formed between them. In the straight groove portion, resistance at the time of discharging chips is reduced compared to a portion where the groove is twisted. Moreover, at the time of step processing, more chips can be temporarily held in the chip discharge groove.
In each of the above-described embodiments, the chip discharge surface is a flat surface with a constant inclination, but it may be a curved surface with a gentle inclination at the bottom side on the center side of the drill and a sharp inclination at the upper end part on the outer peripheral side of the drill. . Moreover, the chip discharge surface is not essential, and the depth of the groove may be reduced while the end of the chip discharge groove on the shank portion side is twisted. In this configuration, the chips are pushed outward in the radial direction of the drill at the end of the chip discharge groove on the shank portion side.
Moreover, in the above-mentioned Example 1, in the site | part where the edge part of a subgroove cross | intersects the cutting blade formed in the blade part, although the edge part is rounded, the structure which carries out a chamfering process to the said edge part It is also good. Further, the entire edge portion may be chamfered or rounded.
In each of the above-described embodiments, an equal lead in which the torsion angle of the chip discharge groove with respect to the rotation axis of the drill is constant is used, but the torsion angle is large on the tip side of the blade part and small on the shank part side of the blade part It is also good. By making unequal leads, there is an effect of suppressing chatter.
In each of the above-described embodiments, the diameter of the shank portion is the same as the diameter of the blade portion. However, by increasing the diameter at the end portion on the shank portion side of the drill compared to other portions, the rigidity of the drill is increased. Can do.
