Description
The present invention relates to a developing device suitably mounted on an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine or a printer, and an image forming apparatus including the developing device.
Conventionally, a developing device as described in
The circulation conveyance path includes an outward conveyance path corresponding to the toner replenishing port and a backward conveyance path corresponding to the developing roller. Each circulation conveyance path is equipped with a stirring screw having spiral blades arranged around the rotation axis. The toner is circulated and conveyed between the forward conveyance path and the backward conveyance path by these stirring screws.
In the developing device of
In the developing device described in
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-described problems. In the developing device in which the replenishment developer is replenished from the replenishment developer accommodating portion as the developer in the staying portion decreases, the replenishment development is performed. It is an object of the present invention to provide a developing device in which the amount of developer replenishment to the housing side does not easily change even when the amount of developer in the agent container changes, and an image forming apparatus including the same.
A developing device according to an aspect of the present invention includes a housing including a pair of wall portions and a top plate laid between the pair of wall portions, and a replenishment removably attached to the housing and replenished to the housing A replenishment developer accommodating portion that accommodates the developer, a developing roller that is rotatably supported by the housing between the pair of wall portions, and that supports the developer, and the housing is spaced apart from the developing roller. The first developing path that is arranged and transports the developer in the first direction, and the developing is arranged between the developing roller and the first conveying path in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A second transport path for transporting the developer and supplying the developer to the developing roller, the developer transport path defined above by the top plate, and disposed in the housing. Transport path and the above A partition plate that partitions the two transport paths, and a first plate that is disposed between the pair of wall portions and both ends of the partition plate, and delivers the developer from the first transport path to the second transport path. A communication path, a second communication path for transferring the developer from the second conveyance path to the first conveyance path, and a position facing the housing on the downstream side in the first direction of the first conveyance path. A developer receiving port that is disposed and receives the replenishment developer in the developer transport path; and is disposed in the first transport path and is driven to rotate, and the developer receiving port faces the first transport path. A transport member that transports the developer in the first direction so as to pass through a position, and is disposed on the transport member or the housing on the downstream side in the first direction from the developer receiving port, and the transport member To partially suppress the developer transport capability A downstream conveyance capacity suppressing portion that forms a first retention portion in which the developer stays at a position facing the developer receiving port, and the ceiling in the first direction upstream from the developer receiving port. The developer stays on the upstream side in the first direction from the developer receiving port by projecting from the plate toward the transport member and partially suppressing the developer transport capability of the transport member. An upstream-side conveyance capacity suppression wall that forms a second staying section, and the downstream-side conveyance capacity suppression section extends from the top plate to the conveyance member on the downstream side in the first direction from the developer receiving port. H1 is a downstream conveyance capacity suppression wall projecting toward the top, and the height at which the downstream conveyance capacity suppression wall projects from the top panel is H1, and the upstream conveyance capacity suppression wall projects from the top panel. When the height to be set is H2, H2 ≦ H1 ≦ 2 × meets the relationship H2, the developer amount of the developer conveyance path increases, that the developer of the first retention portion to seal the developer receiving port, the supplied developer storing When the supply of replenishment developer from the section to the first transport path is suppressed, the developer in the developer transport path is consumed from the developing roller, and the amount of developer in the first staying section decreases, The replenishment developer flows into the first transport path from the replenishment developer accommodating portion by forming a gap between the one staying portion and the developer receiving port .
According to this configuration, the first staying portion is formed at a position where the developer receiving port is opposed by the downstream conveyance capacity suppressing unit disposed downstream of the developer receiving port in the first direction. In addition, a second staying portion is formed on the upstream side in the first direction from the developer receiving port by the upstream conveyance capacity suppression wall arranged on the upstream side in the first direction from the developer receiving port. For this reason, even when the amount of developer in the housing changes, a developer retention portion is stably formed on the upstream and downstream sides of the developer receiving port. Therefore, even when the amount of developer in the replenishment developer container changes and the pressure applied to the developer receiving port by the replenishment developer fluctuates, the amount of replenishment developer flowing into the developer conveyance path changes. Is suppressed.
Further , according to this configuration, the replenishment developer that has flowed into the developer receiving port is transported in the first direction so as to be submerged below the downstream transport capability suppression wall. For this reason, the replenishment developer flows into the second conveyance path side in a state where it is sufficiently mixed with the surrounding developer. In other words, the replenishment developer is prevented from flowing into the second conveyance path while flowing through the upper layer of the developer layer. Accordingly, the supply developer is prevented from being supplied to the developing roller as a lump. In addition, since a conveyance capacity suppression wall is provided at the upstream and downstream portions of the developer receiving port, a large amount of developer is prevented from flowing in from the replenishment developer accommodating portion.
Moreover, according to this structure, the height of the downstream conveyance capacity suppression wall is set to the range of 1 to 2 times the height of the upstream conveyance capacity suppression wall. For this reason, the replenishment developer that has flowed into the developer receiving port is conveyed to a lower portion of the developer layer, and the replenishment developer is stably dispersed.
In the above configuration, the transport member has a rotation shaft and screw blades formed around the rotation shaft, and in the region where the downstream transport capability suppression wall and the upstream transport capability suppression wall face each other, It is desirable that the screw blades are partially missing, and the downstream-side conveyance capability suppression wall and the upstream-side conveyance capability suppression wall are arranged so as to enter the rotary shaft side with respect to the outer peripheral edge of the screw blade. .
According to this configuration, the developer retention portion is stably formed in the upstream and downstream portions of the developer receiving port by the upstream side and downstream side conveyance capacity suppression walls.
An image forming apparatus according to another aspect of the present invention includes the developing device according to any one of the above, an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed on a surface, and the developer is supplied from the developing roller, And a transfer device for transferring an image from the image carrier to a sheet.
According to this configuration, even when the amount of developer in the housing changes, the developer retention portion is stably formed on the upstream and downstream sides of the developer receiving port. Therefore, even when the amount of developer in the replenishment developer container changes and the pressure applied to the developer receiving port by the replenishment developer fluctuates, the amount of replenishment developer flowing into the developer conveyance path changes. Is suppressed. As a result, it is suppressed that a large amount of replenishment developer flows into the housing and charging of the developer becomes unstable. Therefore, the occurrence of developer fog on the image formed on the sheet is preferably suppressed.
According to the present invention, in the developing device in which the replenishment developer is replenished from the replenishment developer accommodating portion as the developer in the staying portion decreases, the housing is changed even if the developer amount in the replenishment developer accommodating portion changes. Provided are a developing device in which the developer replenishment amount to the side hardly changes, and an image forming apparatus including the developing device.

The
The

The developing
The
The
As described above, in the present embodiment, the

<About staying part>
The
The

The replenishment toner T2 supplied from the
The first stirring
更に、現像装置20は、下流側抑制壁28A(下流側搬送能力抑制部)を備える。
Furthermore, the developing
In the
When the replenishing toner T2 is replenished from the
<Dispersion of replenishment toner>
Next, problems associated with toner replenishment in the developing
In the developing device 20Z having the above-described volume replenishment type toner replenishment method, when the residual toner in the toner container is reduced, the toner replenishment amount is reduced, so the toner amount in the development housing 210Z is also reduced. The In this case, when it is detected by the density sensor (not shown) that the residual toner is low, replacement of the toner container is prompted. At this time, since the amount of toner in the developing housing 210Z has decreased, the amount of toner in the
The toner that has flowed into the developing housing 210Z enters the
In addition, the new supply toner that has suddenly flowed into the developing housing 210Z is unlikely to sink to the bottom side of the developing housing 210Z even when receiving the rotational force of the
<About the downstream
In order to solve the above-described problems, the developing
As shown in FIGS. 4 and 7, the downstream-side suppression wall 28 </ b> A and the upstream-side suppression wall 28 </ b> B are wall portions that protrude downward from the
Referring to FIG. 7, the downstream
In FIG. 7, even when the amount of toner in the downstream
In other words, the
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the downstream side suppression wall 28 </ b> A is disposed above the downstream side of the
Next, a developing
The

In Table 1, the comparative example is the configuration of the conventional developing device 20Z shown in FIG. 9, and Example 1 is the configuration of the developing
<実験2>
<Experiment 2>
Next, in the configuration of the developing
Note that the toner in the developing
The evaluation criteria for the streak fog are the same as those in
Half vertical streak: Compared with the conventional developing device 20Z, ◯: No significant difference, Δ: Slightly bad, X: Very bad When D ≧ 0.010, level 2 is 0.007 ≦ F. When D ≦ 0.009, level 3 is 0.004 ≦ F. For D ≦ 0.006,
As shown in Table 2, the ratio (H1 / H2) between the height H2 of the upstream
As described above, according to the embodiment described above, the toner stays at a position where the
Further, according to the above-described embodiment, the replenishing toner that has flowed into the
Further, according to the above embodiment, the height at which the downstream
Moreover, according to said embodiment, the
Further, according to the above-described embodiment, the downstream
In addition, according to the
