Description
・閉鎖底端部、側壁及び開放端を有する円筒形容器、
・容器内に配置された電極アセンブリ及び電解質、
・開放端内に配置され、通気アセンブリ、カバー及びPTCデバイスを有する端部アセンブリ、
・容器と端部アセンブリとの間に配置され、ガスケットの内周の少なくとも一部分に沿って形成された半径方向突起部を有する環状ガスケット、
・カバーの一部分及び通気アセンブリの一部分は、半径方向突起部の両側でガスケットと圧縮シールを形成する、
・半径方向突起部は、PTCデバイスの軸方向高さと少なくとも等しい軸方向高さを有し、かつ、PTCデバイスの周りに同心円状に適合する、
・容器の開放端の端子縁部はガスケットの上に圧着される、
・ガスケットはE形状又はF形状を有する、
・突起部の軸方向高さはPTCデバイスの軸方向高さより高い、
・半径方向突起部はガスケットの内径の全てに沿って連続的に延びる、
・通気アセンブリはロールバック・カバーを含む、
・ガスケットとロールバック・カバーとの間のシールは、半径方向及び軸方向の圧縮力を加える、
・半径方向突起部は環状溝を含む、
・環状溝はカバーの一部分又は通気アセンブリの一部分を収容する、
・通気アセンブリは、接触部材及びホイル通気口を受けるリテーナを含む、
・リテーナは、接触部材とPTCデバイスとの間の電気的接触を維持する、
・容器は開放端の近くに環状ビードを含む、
・環状ビード及び圧着された端子縁部は主軸方向圧縮をもたらし、PTCデバイスは主軸方向圧縮にさらされない、及び/又は、
・ガスケットは通気アセンブリの周りにインサート成形される、
のいずれかの組み合わせを含む電気化学セルが考えられる。
・閉鎖底端部、ビード付き側壁及び開放端を有する円筒形容器、
・容器内に配置された電極アセンブリ及び電解質、
・開放端内に配置され、通気アセンブリ、カバー及びPTCデバイスを有する端部アセンブリ、
・容器と端部アセンブリとの間に配置され、突起部の真上及び真下のガスケットの部分より小さい内径を有する内側半径方向突起部を有する環状ガスケット、
・容器の開放端はガスケット及びカバーの上に圧着されて主軸方向圧縮力を生成する、
・半径方向突起部はPTCデバイスに係合して、該PTCデバイスが主軸方向圧縮力にさらされるのを防止する、
・端部アセンブリは、通気アセンブリの一部分及び接触部材の一部分を受けるリテーナをさらに含む、
・接触部材はばねである、及び/又は、
・半径方向突起部はガスケットの内径の全てに沿って連続的に延びる、
のうちの1つ又はそれ以上を含む電気化学セルが考えられる。
・開放端を有する円筒形容器を準備するステップ、
・容器内に電極アセンブリ及び電解質を配置するステップ、
・容器の開放端内に環状ビードを形成するステップ、
・ガスケットの側壁に沿って配置された半径方向内側突起部を有するガスケット内に、PTCデバイスを有する通気アセンブリ及びカバーを同心円状に配置し、通気アセンブリ及びカバーは半径方向内側突起部の両側で圧縮するようにガスケットの側壁に接触するステップ、
・環状ビードに近い容器の開放端内に環状ガスケットを据え付けるステップ、
・容器の開放端をフランジの一部分の上に圧着して、(i)環状ビード、ガスケットのフランジ及びカバーの全てが協働して主軸方向圧縮力を生成し、(ii)半径方向突起部がPTCデバイスと協働して、主軸方向圧縮力が該PTCデバイスに加えられるのを防止するステップ、
・カバーは、半径方向突起部の上方の円筒形容器の内側側壁にかかる半径方向圧縮力を生成するように配置される、
・通気アセンブリは、ガスケット及び円筒形容器の内側内壁にかかる半径方向圧縮力を生成するように配置される、
・半径方向圧縮力は、通気アセンブリ内に設けられるロールバック・カバーにより半径方向突起部の下方に加えられる、及び/又は、
・通気アセンブリは、ガスケットを通気アセンブリの周りにインサート成形することによりガスケット内に配置される、
のいずれかの組み合わせによって特徴付けられる、円筒形電気化学セルを密封する方法が考えられる。

Claims (18)
- 閉鎖底端部、側壁及び開放端を有する円筒形容器と、
前記容器内に配置された電極アセンブリ及び電解質と、
前記開放端内に配置され、通気アセンブリ、カバー及びPTCデバイスを有する端部アセンブリと、
前記容器と前記端部アセンブリとの間に同心円状に配置され、半径方向突起部を有する環状ガスケットであって、前記半径方向突起部は:i)前記ガスケットの内周の少なくとも一部分に沿って形成され、ii)半径方向面に沿って半径方向内側に延び、またiii)前記半径方向面と交差する前記ガスケットの中央部分に沿った最内直径を定める、前記環状ガスケットと、
を含み、
前記最内直径は、前記容器の前記開放端の圧着端部が前記ガスケットの上に半径方向内側に圧着されて形成される外径よりも小さく、
前記カバーの一部分及び前記通気アセンブリの一部分は、前記半径方向突起部の両側で前記ガスケットと圧縮シールを形成し、
前記半径方向突起部は、前記PTCデバイスの軸方向高さと少なくとも等しい軸方向高さを有し、かつ、
前記半径方向突起部が前記PTCデバイスの周りに適合するように、前記PTCデバイスは、前記半径方向面において前記半径方向突起部の近くに位置合わせされ、前記最内直径に等しい直径を有し、かつ、
前記PTCデバイスが作動時に膨張することを特徴とする電気化学セル。 - 前記ガスケットの断面は、前記圧着端部が圧着された後、E形状又はF形状を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記突起部の前記軸方向高さは前記PTCデバイスの前記軸方向高さより高いことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記半径方向突起部は前記ガスケットの内径の全てに沿って連続的に延びることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記通気アセンブリはロールバック・カバーを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記ガスケットと前記ロールバック・カバーとの間の前記シールは、半径方向及び軸方向の圧縮力を加えることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記半径方向突起部は、前記カバーの一部分又は前記通気アセンブリの一部分を収容するための環状溝を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記環状溝は前記カバーの一部分を収容することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記通気アセンブリは、前記電極アセンブリと接触する接触部材及びホイル通気口を受けるリテーナを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記リテーナは、前記接触部材と前記PTCデバイスとの間の電気的接触を維持することを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記容器は前記開放端の近くに環状ビードを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記ガスケットの断面は、前記圧着端部が圧着された後、E形状又はF形状を有することを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記環状ビード及び圧着された圧着端部は主軸方向圧縮をもたらし、前記PTCデバイスは前記主軸方向圧縮にさらされないことを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記ガスケットは前記通気アセンブリの周りにインサート成形されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電気化学セル。
- 閉鎖底端部、ビード付き側壁及び開放端を有する円筒形容器と、
前記容器内に配置された電極アセンブリ及び電解質と、
前記開放端内に配置され、通気アセンブリ、カバー及びPTCデバイスを有する端部アセンブリと、
前記容器と前記端部アセンブリとの間に配置される環状ガスケットであって、突起部の真上及び真下の前記環状ガスケットの部分に比べて小さい内径を定める一体形成される内側半径方向突起部を有する前記環状ガスケットと、
を含み、
前記容器の前記開放端の圧着端部は前記環状ガスケット及び前記カバーの上に圧着されて、主軸方向圧縮力を生成し、
前記半径方向突起部の最内縁部は前記PTCデバイスの最外縁部に当接して、該PTCデバイスが、前記容器の前記開放端の圧着端部を前記端部アセンブリの部分の上に圧着することにより発生する前記主軸方向圧縮力にさらされるのを防止し、かつ、
前記PTCデバイスが作動時に膨張することを特徴とする電気化学セル。 - 前記端部アセンブリは、前記通気アセンブリの一部分及び前記電極アセンブリと接触する接触部材の一部分を受けるリテーナをさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記電極アセンブリと接触する接触部材はばねであることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記半径方向突起部は前記環状ガスケットの内径の全てに沿って連続的に延びることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の電気化学セル。
