Claims (14)
- 金属物品(12,14)の互いに反対側の第1表面(32)及び第2表面(34)に連接する接合端面(28)同士を金属学的に接合することにより、2つ以上の金属物品(12,14)を高出力レーザビーム溶接する方法であって、
前記物品(12,14)の接合端面(28)が互いに向き合うように前記物品(12,14)を配置し、前記物品(12,14)の接合端面(28)と並置表面(30)とを含む接合領域(16)が画成され、但し並置表面(30)は、接合端面(28)に隣接する第1表面(32)の部分で画成され、かつ前記物品(12,14)を配置した後も露出されたままであり、金属シム(36)を前記物品(12,14)の間に配置しかつ前記物品(12,14)の接合端面(28)と接触させ、シム(36)の端部が前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)から1〜13mm突出しており、
出力レベルが10kW超の高出力レーザビーム(10)を接合領域(16)に照射し、レーザビーム(10)を前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)にフォーカスし、シム(36)の端部にフォーカスせずにレーザビーム(10)の一部(10A,10b)がシム(36)端部から前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)に回折されて、レーザビーム(10)及びその回折された部分(10A,10b)が前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)、前記物品(12,14)の接合端面(28)及びシム(36)を溶融し、並置表面(30)に溶融材料の流れを引き起こすことによって物品(12,14)同士を溶接し、
物品(12,14)を冷却して、溶接アセンブリ(24)を得、溶接アセンブリ(24)が第1表面(32)と第2表面(34)の間で溶接アセンブリ(24)の厚さを完全に貫通する溶接継手(20)を含み、溶接継手(20)が溶接工程前の前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)とほぼ一致する溶接物表面を画成し、溶接継手(20)が物品(12,14)間にボイドをほとんどもたないようにする工程
を含む方法。 - 前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)で直径が0.5〜1mmとなるようにレーザビーム(10)をフォーカスする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記物品(12,14)及びシム(36)がニッケル基、鉄基合金、コバルト基、銅基、アルミニウム基又はチタン基合金で製造されている、請求項1又は請求項2記載の方法。
- 接合端面(28)に対して垂直方向のシム(36)の厚さが0.12〜1.6mmである、請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 溶接アセンブリ(24)の厚さが12.5mm以上である、請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 溶接アセンブリ(24)の厚さが2cm以上である、請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 溶接継手(20)が突合せ継手である、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 溶接アセンブリ(24)がガスタービンエンジンの部品である、請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 高出力レーザビーム溶接方法を行うアセンブリであって、
2つ以上の金属物品(12,14)と金属シム(36)とを含み、
前記金属物品(12,14)が、前記物品(12,14)の互いに反対側の第1表面(32)及び第2表面(34)に連接する接合端面(28)と、接合端面(28)に隣接する物品(12,14)の第1表面(32)の部分で画成された並置表面(30)とを含み、前記物品(12,14)はその接合端面(28)が互いに向き合うように配置され、並置表面(30)が露出されており、接合端面(28)及び並置表面(30)を含む接合領域(16)が画成され、
前記金属シム(36)が前記物品(12,14)の間に配置されかつ接合端面(28)と接触し、シム(36)の端部が前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)から1〜13mm突出していて、出力レベルが10kW超の高出力レーザビーム(10)を接合領域(16)に照射して、前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)にフォーカスしたときに、前記高出力レーザビーム(10)がシム(36)端部にフォーカスされずにレーザビーム(10)の一部(10A,10b)がシム(36)端部から前記物品(12,14)の並置表面(30)に回折される、アセンブリ。 - 前記物品(12,14)及びシム(36)がニッケル基、鉄基合金、コバルト基、銅基、アルミニウム基又はチタン基合金で製造されている、請求項9記載のアセンブリ。
- 接合端面(28)に対して垂直方向のシム(36)の厚さが0.12〜1.6mmである、請求項9又は請求項10記載のアセンブリ。
- アセンブリの厚さが12.5mm以上である、請求項9乃至請求項11のいずれか1項記載のアセンブリ。
- アセンブリの厚さが2cm以上である、請求項9乃至請求項12のいずれか1項記載のアセンブリ。
- 溶接継手(20)が突合せ継手である、請求項9乃至請求項13のいずれか1項記載のアセンブリ。
