Description
The present invention relates to accommodation of an OLT in a communication facility including an optical subscriber line termination (OLT) and an optical network termination (ONU) connected via an optical fiber transmission line. The present invention relates to a technique for confirming the normality of a switching destination OLT when performing replacement.
FIG. 1 shows a PON (Passive Optical Network) system that performs point-to-multipoint communication as one of optical access systems. In the figure, a PON system includes a plurality of n ONUs connected to a plurality of n communication terminals and an OLT connected to a backbone network via a fiber optic transmission line and an optical splitter. It is the structure connected by. n is an integer greater than or equal to 2, and here shows a case where n = 3. An optical coupler for inputting / outputting a test optical signal is inserted into the optical fiber transmission line.
The optical coupler has four ports as shown in FIG. Light incident from each port is branched as follows. Light incident from port B is branched to port A and
。 In such an optical access system, when an optical fiber cable is relocated due to a problem such as road construction, it is necessary to cut the existing optical fiber cable and reconnect it to a newly laid optical fiber cable. is there. In such an optical fiber path change construction, it is necessary to confirm the normality by confirming the communication state of each optical fiber after the construction. In this case, as a conventional method, as shown in FIG. 3, a control monitoring operation system on the backbone network side is used, and for example, a communication state is determined by end-to-end path management of a VoIP (Voice over IP) service. (For example, see Non-Patent Document 1).
この機能は、P2MP(Point to Multi Point)ディスカバリ機能と呼ばれる。 In the PON system, a GE-PON (Gigabit Ethernet (registered trademark) -PON) system is often used. In the GE-PON system, when the ONU is connected to the OLT, the OLT automatically discovers the ONU and automatically establishes a communication link. This function is called a P2MP (Point to Multi Point) discovery function. However, if the communication link is automatically established when the ONU is connected to the OLT, it becomes accessible even if an unauthorized user attaches the ONU. Therefore, in order to eliminate the automatic establishment of a communication link in the case of such an illegal connection, the GE-PON system has an ONU authentication function, and a network other than a regular ONU can communicate with an upper network of the OLT. Communication is disabled.
In the PON system, a plurality of ONUs are aggregated into one communication transmission path using an optical splitter and connected to the OLT. Therefore, the OLT transmits a communication permission message (GATE message) to each ONU so that the signals from the respective ONUs do not overlap, and the ONU transmits a signal to the communication permission message from the OLT.
In the GE-PON system, there is a method of determining a communication state (link establishment, service use) using a communication monitor device. For example, Non-Patent
FIG. 4 shows the configuration of the
The optical
A method of determining “link establishment” of the ONU 50 in the
On the other hand, a method for determining whether the
5, 6, and 7 show an example of switching work for replacing the ONU 50 accommodated in the OLT 20-1 with the OLT 20-2. FIG. 5 shows a state before construction. As shown in FIG. 6, the optical fiber transmission line 60-1 is cut and connected to the optical fiber transmission line 60-2 as shown in FIG. Accordingly, since the ONU 50 is not connected to any
By using the
Further, the
Therefore, when it is desired to check whether there is a failure in the OLT 20-2 before the switching work is performed, an OPM (Optical Power Meter) is connected to the optical coupler 40-2, and the presence or absence of communication light from the OLT 20-2 is determined. Normality will be confirmed. However, even when the communication light from the OLT 20-2 can be received by the OPM, it is only possible to confirm that the light source of the OLT 20-2 emits light, and the drive circuit for the light source of the OLT 20-2 There may be a case where the optical signal is not determined by communication between the
As another confirmation method of the above-described
Here, the
First, when the OLT 20-2 is installed, the
However, in this confirmation method, it is necessary to perform information registration of the

Therefore, in order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an OLT inspection apparatus and an OLT inspection method that can easily confirm the normality of an OLT that is a switching destination before switching the OLT when the OLT is replaced. For the purpose.
To achieve the above object, according to the present invention, a communication monitor device and an ONU that is not registered in the OLT are connected to an optical coupler arranged in an optical fiber transmission line, and the communication monitor device confirms the link of the ONU. When it is determined that the OLT is normal and the ONU link cannot be confirmed, it is determined that the OLT is abnormal.

It is characterized by performing.
In a construction where the connection is changed from an OLT to which an ONU was connected (an OLT before switching) to a different OLT (switching destination OLT), an ONU (unregistered ONU) that has not been registered in the OLT before construction is switched Connect with. Using a communication monitoring device on the communication path between the unregistered ONU and the switching destination OLT, confirm the control frame sent by the unregistered ONU to the switching destination OLT for the communication permission message sent from the switching destination OLT to the unregistered ONU By doing so, it is possible to confirm the normality of the switching destination OLT.
Since the normality of the OLT can be confirmed simply by connecting the unregistered ONU and the communication monitor device to the optical coupler, a large number of work steps are not required as in the conventional confirmation of the normality of the OLT. Therefore, the present invention can provide an OLT inspection apparatus and an OLT inspection method that can easily confirm the normality of the OLT that is the switching destination before switching the OLT when the OLT is accommodated.

By confirming the optical output from the OLT before confirming the link of the unregistered ONU, the failure of the OLT can be easily checked. Therefore, there is no need to distinguish between an unregistered ONU failure and an OLT failure when the unregistered ONU link cannot be confirmed.
Further, the OLT inspection method may be configured such that, after the communication monitoring device connection step and before the ONU connection step, when the communication monitoring device confirms the link of the ONU, the optical fiber to which the OLT not subject to inspection is connected. It is determined that the communication monitoring device is connected to the second port of the optical coupler in the transmission path.
Before connecting an unregistered ONU to the switching destination OLT, a communication monitor device is connected to confirm in advance that no ONU is connected to the switching destination OLT. It can be checked in advance whether the optical fiber transmission line of the optical coupler connected to the communication monitoring device is the optical fiber transmission line connected to the OLT whose normality is to be confirmed.

First, an outline of the P2MP discovery function will be described. When an ONU is connected to the OLT, a GATE message is transmitted from the OLT to the ONU even if the ONU is not registered in the OLT (unregistered ONU). If the GATE message can be transmitted, it is possible to confirm the MAC address of the unregistered ONU with the communication monitoring device, that is, confirm the link establishment.

Specifically, in response to a communication permission message (GATE message) of the OLT 20-2, the
When the OLT inspection method is performed using the
(Embodiment 2)
The OLT inspection method described in the first embodiment may require consideration in the implementation depending on the restrictions of the PON system specifications. In other words, consideration may be required when the number of ONUs that can be accommodated (connected) in the OLT is limited. For example, it is assumed that the
That is, as shown in FIG. 10, in a state where “ε-1” ONUs 50 (γ1 to γ (ε-1)) are connected to the OLT 20-γ, the
Normally, in the switching work, the “ε + 1” -
The present embodiment is an OLT inspection method that can avoid such work errors. The OLT inspection method of the present embodiment is not subject to inspection when the
As shown in FIG. 11, first, when the
Thereafter, as described in the OLT inspection method of the first embodiment, the normality of the OLT 20-2 can be confirmed by connecting the
When the OLT inspection method is performed using the
Since it is possible to avoid connecting the

The specific procedure is shown below. First, as shown in FIG. 12, the
In the GE-PON system, the P2MP discovery function automatically establishes a link when an ONU is connected even if it is an

After it is determined in step S09 that the OLT 20-2 is normal, switching work from the optical fiber transmission line 60-1 to the optical fiber transmission line 60-2 as shown in FIGS.
