Description
本発明のウレタンフォームは、シリコーン粉体およびシリカ粉体から選ばれる一種以上の粉体(以下、「シリコーン粉体等」とも称する)を基材ウレタンフォームに含浸してなるものであり、所期の効果が得られるものであれば、シリコーン粉体等の含浸は、基材ウレタンフォーム表層でも、基材ウレタンフォーム全体でもよく、好ましくは、基材ウレタンフォーム表層である。ここで、表層とは、シリコーン粉体等が基材ウレタンフォームの全体に含浸せずに、シリコーン粉体等の含浸量が少なくても十分に本発明の効果を得ることができる範囲を示す。これにより、シリコーン粉体等のエッジで摩擦帯電性を発現することができ、特開2003−262997号公報記載のような液状シリコーン油を含浸した場合と比較して、帯電特性に与える効果が大きく、トナー帯電量(Q/M)を高めることができ、トナー搬送ローラの表層にトナーを十分に吸着して十分なトナー搬送性が得られ、良好な画像を得ることができる。また、シリコーンゴム製のトナー搬送ローラと比較して、同等のトナー搬送量(M/A)を得ることができ、さらにシリコーンゴム製のトナー搬送ローラより低コストで良好な画像を得ることができる。
測定対象材料を23℃、相対湿度55%の雰囲気下に4時間放置する。測定対象材料を除電ブロアSJ−F300(キーエンス社製)にて静電気を除去する。基材として使用するウレタンフォーム(ポリウレタン発泡体)と測定対象材料を擦り、表面電位計(トレック・ジャパン(株)製「MODEL 347」)で測定する。ポリウレタン発泡体および測定対象材料がプラス(正)、マイナス(負)のいずれに帯電するかで判別する。
(上記一般式(1)中、R1およびR2は、水素原子、アルキル基またはアリール基を示し、互いに同一であっても異なっていてもよく、Mは、アルカリ金属またはアルカリ土類金属を示し、nは、整数である)で表されるものが好適に使用できる。
(上記一般式(2)中、Rは−A1−(SO2R3)xを表し、R3は、OH、ハロゲン原子、ONa、OK、OR3aであり、R3a、A1は置換または未置換脂肪族炭化水素基、置換または未置換の芳香族基、置換または未置換の複素環基を表し、mおよびxは1〜8から選ばれた整数であり、複数のユニットが存在する場合、R、R3、R3a、A1、m、xは、各ユニットで独立して上記の意味を表す)で表されるものが好適に使用される。
(上記一般式(3)中、R4は、水素原子、直鎖もしくは分岐鎖のアルキル基、アルコキシ基、ニトロ基、アミノ基、カルボキシル基、アラルキル基、フェニル基、ベンジル基またはハロゲン原子を示し、nは0〜4の整数を示す)で表されるオキシナフトエ酸誘導体と、アルミニウム、クロム、コバルト、鉄、チタン、亜鉛等の金属からなる有機金属化合物が挙げられる。
(上記一般式(4)中、Mは、配位中心金属(クロム、コバルト、ニッケル、マンガン、鉄、チタン、アルミニウム等)を示し、Arは、各種置換基を有してもよいアリール基を示し、X、X1、YおよびY1は、それぞれO、CO、NHまたはNR5(R5は、炭素数1〜4のアルキレン基)を示し、A+は、水素イオン、ナトリウムイオン、カリウムイオン、アンモニウムイオン、脂肪族アンモニウムイオンを示し、A+はこれらのイオンが混合されていてもよい)で表されるものが好適に使用される。
(上記一般式(5)中、R6は、炭素数2〜6のアルキレン基、R7は、水素原子またはメチル基であり、nは、0〜10の整数を表す)

(上記一般式(6)中、R8は、水素原子またはメチル基、R9は、炭素数2〜4のアルキレン基、R10は、エチレン基、ビニレン基、1,2−シクロヘキシレン基、または1,2−フェニレン基を示す)で表されるものが好適に使用される。
(上記一般式(7)中、Mは、ホウ素またはアルミニウムであり、Xは、リチウム、ナトリウムまたはカリウムであり、R11、R12、R13およびR14は、各々独立に、水素原子、炭素数1〜4のアルキル基、炭素数1〜4のアルコキシ基またはハロゲン原子を示し、R11、R12、R13およびR14は複数存在してもよく、これらが複数存在する場合、各々が異なっていても同一であってもよく、nは、1〜5の整数を示す)で表されるものが好適に使用できる。
(上記一般式(8)中、R15は、炭素数4以上のアルキル基を表し、R16は、水素原子またはメチル基を表し、R15は、炭素数6以上のアルキル基であることがより好ましく、炭素数8以上のアルキル基であることがさらに好ましく、さらにまたR15は、炭素数20以下のアルキル基であることが好ましく、R15は直鎖でも分岐していてもよく、環状構造を有していてもよい)で表される(メタ)アクリル酸エステルを主成分とするものが好適に使用できる。
(上記一般式(9)中、R17は、水素原子またはメチル基を示し、R18は、炭素数1〜7の二価の有機基を示し、R19およびR20は、各々独立に、水素原子または炭素数1〜20の有機基、特には炭素数2〜4の有機基が好ましく、あるいは、R19およびR20が化学的に結合した炭素数4〜20の環状構造、またはR19およびR20が化学的に結合した、窒素原子、酸素原子、イオウ原子の少なくとも一種を含む炭素数4〜19の環状構造であってもよい)で表されるアミノ基含有モノマーを主成分とするものが好適に使用できる。

(上記一般式(10)および(11)中、R21、R24およびR26は、炭素数1〜8のアルキレン基または繰り返し数が1〜4のエチレンオキシド基であり、R22,R23R25,R27,R28は、それぞれ炭素数1〜8のアルキル基であり、R22およびR23、R24〜R28は、互いに同一でも異なっていてもよい)で表されるものが好適に使用できる。
(上記一般式(12)中、R29は、水素原子または炭素数1〜17の炭化水素基、R30およびR31は、各々独立に、水素原子または炭素数1〜8の炭化水素基、あるいはR30およびR31は、相互に連結されて環構造を形成していてもよく、R32は、エーテル結合を含んでいてもよい炭素数1〜12のアルキレン基、X−は、アニオン、nは2〜100の整数を示す)で表されるイミダゾリウム塩を主成分とするものが好適に使用できる。
(上記一般式(13)中、R33、R34、R35およびR36は、各々独立して、置換基を有していてもよいアルキル基、置換基を有していてもよい環状アルキル基、置換基を有していてもよいアラルキル基、置換基を有していてもよいアリール基を示し、X−は、アニオンを示す)で表されるものが好適に使用できる。
(上記一般式(14)中、R37およびR38は、各々独立して、アミノ基、炭素数1〜4のアルキル基を有するモノまたはジアルキルアミノ基、炭素数2〜4のアルキル基を有するモノまたはジ−ω−ヒドロキシアルキルアミノ基、無置換またはN−アルキル置換のフェニルアミノ基から選ばれる基であり、R38は、水素原子またはR37およびR38で示した基であり、R40およびR41は、各々独立して、水素原子、ハロゲン原子、スルホン酸基であるか、または両者が縮合したフェニル環を形成し、R42、R43、R45およびR46は、各々独立して、水素原子、メチル基またはエチル基であり、R44は、水素原子またはハロゲン原子であり、X−は、ハロゲンイオン、サルフェート、モリブデート、ホスホロモリブデート、ホウ素アニオンであり、これらのうち、R37およびR39がフェニルアミノ基であり、R38がm−メチルフェニルアミノ基であり、R40〜R46が水素原子である化合物が好ましい)で表されるものが好適に使用できる。
以下に、実施例および比較例で用いた材料を示す。
ウレタンフォームA 株式会社ブリヂストン製(除膜処理なし)
密度 29kgf/m3
通気量 196cm3/cm2/sec
硬度 10kgf
平均セル径 280μm
バインダーa エネックス社製「SEバインダー」ウレタン樹脂水分散体
固形分50%
シリコーン粉体 東レ・ダウコーニング(株)製
「トレフィルE−E−601」
消泡剤 自己乳化型シリコーン系消泡剤
上記バインダーa、シリコーン粉体(2.6g/L)、消泡剤を混合し、含浸液を調整した。この含浸液を満たした浴中に、ブロック状(16mm×1000mm×2000mm)の除膜処理を施していないウレタンフォームAを浸漬し、2本のロール間で圧縮した後、開放して含浸液にウレタンフォームAを含浸させた。これを浴上に導いて、ニップロールに通して余分な含浸液を絞り、除去した後110℃の熱風炉にて10分間加熱乾燥し、本発明のウレタンフォームを得た。このウレタンフォームの含浸液の付着量は乾燥質量で8g/Lであった。
シリコーン粉体を配合しなかったこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてトナー搬送ローラを作製した。
本発明のウレタンフォームをシリコーンゴムに代えた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、トナー搬送ローラを作製した。
上記実施例および比較例で得られたトナー搬送ローラの物性を以下の通り評価した。結果を表1に併記する。
体積と質量を測定して、密度(g/cm3)を求めた。
市販のプリンタに上記実施例および比較例で得られたトナー搬送ローラをセットし、下記条件で印刷を行い、印字性能を評価した。
A4用紙に対して4%の印字パターンで20000枚の印刷を行う。20000枚の印刷を行う際に、1000枚おきに3枚連続黒100%パターン印刷を行う。合計20回の3枚連続黒100%パターン印刷を行い、各回下記3段階で評価を行い、20回の平均を算出する。
(評価基準)
3枚中1〜2枚目でカスレが生じた場合を×とする。
3枚中3枚目でカスレが生じた場合を△とする。
3枚ともカスレが生じなかった場合を○とする。
実施例および比較例で作製されたトナー搬送ローラのトナー搬送量(M/A)を、以下の方法で評価した(図2参照)。
ADVANTEC 86Rの円筒ろ紙を装着した吸引ポンプを用いて、現像ローラ12上にあって、トナー搬送ローラ13とブレード18の間に存在するトナーを約14.4cm2分吸引し、ろ紙上に溜まったトナーを秤量して、単位面積あたりのトナー量(g/cm2)を測定した。

Claims (7)
- シリコーン粉体およびシリカ粉体から選ばれる一種以上の粉体とバインダーとを含む含浸液を基材ウレタンフォームに含浸させるウレタンフォームの製造方法であって、前記含浸を、前記ウレタンフォームを含浸液に浸漬し、圧縮した後、開放することにより行うことを特徴とするウレタンフォームの製造方法。
- 前記粉体と前記バインダーの配合比が、前記バインダーの固形分100質量部に対して、前記粉体が10〜110質量部である請求項1記載のウレタンフォームの製造方法。
- 前記ウレタンフォームの通気量が100〜700cm3/cm2/secである請求項1または2記載のウレタンフォームの製造方法。
- 前記ウレタンフォームの密度が10〜100kg/m3である請求項1〜3のうちいずれか一項記載のウレタンフォームの製造方法。
- 前記ウレタンフォームのアスカーF硬度が30〜90°である1〜4のうちいずれか一項記載のウレタンフォームの製造方法。
- 軸の外周に請求項1〜5のうちいずれか一項記載のウレタンフォームの製造方法により製造されたウレタンフォームが担持されてなることを特徴とするトナー搬送ローラ。
- 負帯電性トナー用である請求項6記載のトナー搬送ローラ。
