Description
The present invention relates to an overdischarge type ignition device for an internal combustion engine mounted on an automobile or the like.
For internal combustion engines mounted on vehicles such as automobiles, direct injection type that injects fuel into the combustion chamber to improve fuel efficiency and performs lean combustion, and those that operate with high EGR for exhaust gas purification are adopted. ing. In these internal combustion engines, since it is difficult to ignite the air-fuel mixture, it is necessary to provide a high energy ignition device.
When a lean air-fuel mixture or an air-fuel mixture containing a large amount of EGR gas is ignited, a discharge voltage is generated by a current interruption type ignition coil, and a high voltage boosted by using a booster circuit such as a DC-DC converter is reduced to 2 It is superimposed on the discharge voltage output from the secondary coil and applied to the spark plug, and ignition by overlap discharge is performed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
The ignition device configured as described above supplies a high voltage [kV] generated in the secondary coil when the current flowing in the primary coil of the ignition coil is interrupted to the ignition plug, Breakdown occurs between the discharge electrodes. Further, after a discharge current starts to flow from the secondary coil, a DC voltage higher than a voltage capable of maintaining a discharge spark generated between the discharge electrodes of the spark plug, for example, a voltage of about 500 [V] or higher A high voltage is generated by a booster circuit. This DC voltage is superimposed on the output voltage of the secondary coil and supplied to the spark plug so as to maintain the discharge spark of the spark plug. According to such an ignition system, a large amount of discharge energy can be supplied to the spark plug over a relatively long time, so that the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber can be ignited efficiently, and the internal combustion engine is operated. The fuel consumption is improved.
Some ignition devices used in internal combustion engines detect an ion current generated during combustion of an air-fuel mixture and output the detected ion current value to a control unit such as an ECU.
Said ECU judges a combustion state from the magnitude | size of an ionic current value, and controls operation | movement of an ignition device so that the internal combustion engine in operation is stabilized (for example, refer patent document 2).
The conventional overlap discharge type ignition device is configured as described above, and the ignition coil used in this device prevents the output of the secondary voltage generated when the primary current is conducted, and A high voltage diode is connected to the secondary coil so as to output a secondary voltage (discharge voltage) generated when the current is interrupted.
For this reason, the booster circuit such as the DC-DC converter described above is connected in a circuit so as to output a DC high voltage having the same polarity as a discharge voltage whose polarity is determined by a high voltage diode, and when the spark plug generates a discharge spark. Discharge current flows in one direction.
Further, when a spark plug is used as a sensor for detecting an ionic current in order to detect the combustion state, the ionic current detection circuit is connected to the above spark plug via a secondary coil.
In order to detect the ionic current generated from the start to the end of combustion, the ionic current detection circuit ignites an ionic current detection voltage having a polarity opposite to the voltage that generated a spark in the spark plug via the secondary coil. Apply to plug.
However, if the circuit is configured to apply the ion current detection voltage having the opposite polarity as described above, the ion current having the secondary coil or the ion current detection circuit as a current path is blocked by the high voltage diode.
Therefore, when a circuit for detecting an ionic current is provided, the restriction of the current direction due to the high voltage diode must be suppressed, or the circuit configuration is made excluding the high voltage diode. Therefore, it becomes difficult to cut off the secondary voltage generated when the primary current is conducted, and there is a problem that premature ignition occurs.
Moreover, in order to suppress the secondary voltage generated when the primary current is conducted, it is conceivable to suppress the primary side to secondary side turns ratio, the exchange efficiency, etc. of the ignition coil. Even when the ignition device for an internal combustion engine is configured to have a minimum ignition performance, a secondary voltage of, for example, about 1 [kV] is generated when the primary current is conducted. There was a problem that it was difficult to prevent the occurrence.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and suppresses a secondary voltage generated when the primary current is conducted, and detects an ionic current to control overlap discharge. An object is to provide an apparatus.

An ignition device for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention includes: an ignition coil that generates a secondary voltage to be supplied to a spark plug when a primary current flowing through a primary coil is turned on and off; A first high voltage superimposed on a first secondary voltage generated in the secondary coil when the secondary current is conducted and a second high voltage generated in the secondary coil when the primary current is interrupted A booster circuit that generates a second high voltage to be superimposed on the secondary voltage and outputs the second high voltage to the secondary coil, and an ion current detector that detects an ion current flowing in the combustion chamber via the secondary coil And a control unit for controlling the primary current flowing through the primary coil and the booster circuit according to an ion current detection signal output from the ion current detection unit to cause the spark plug to perform overlapping discharge, The ion current detection unit comprises A second secondary voltage output from the secondary coil and an ion current detection voltage having a polarity opposite to that of the first and second high voltages output from the booster circuit are applied to the spark plug to generate the ion When the first secondary voltage is generated, the control unit controls the booster circuit to reduce the first secondary voltage by superimposing and discharging the spark plug when the first secondary voltage is generated.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram showing the configuration of the internal combustion engine ignition device according to

An internal combustion engine ignition device according to
