Description

The present invention relates to a wire harness including the electronic unit and the unit includes a circuit board with a connector for board.

Conventionally, an electrical connection between an electronic unit such as an ECU mounted on an automobile and a circuit board that is housed in a case and other electrical components is often a board as shown in FIG. This is achieved by a combination of the connector and the wire side connector. As described in Patent Document 2, for example, the board connector includes a terminal fitting connected to a circuit on the circuit board and a housing that holds the terminal fitting. On the other hand, the wire-side connector includes a plurality of wire-side terminals that are respectively attached to the ends of the wires included in the wire harness and the like, and a housing that holds these wire-side terminals. A plurality of terminal accommodating chambers into which the electric wire side terminals are inserted, and an engaging portion for engaging the electric wire side terminals inserted into the terminal accommodating chambers on the housing side.

In this structure, the electric wire side terminals are held in a common housing (housing of the electric wire side connector) and the electric wire side terminals are fitted with the housing and the housing of the board connector. Are electrically connected to the circuit board side circuit to which the terminal fitting is connected and the wire attached to each terminal on the wire side. In addition, the engaging portions (lock portions) provided in the two housings are engaged with each other to lock the fitting state between the housings, so that the electric wire side terminal and the terminal fitting are fitted. The electrical connection state due to the connection is maintained.

In recent years, automobiles are required to secure a wide indoor space while achieving compactness. On the other hand, it is also required to mount many electrical components as the value added increases. Therefore, electronic units such as ECUs and wire harnesses connecting these electronic units are required to be installed in a limited space of a vehicle. In addition, cost reduction is also required as a potential issue.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to electrically connect an electronic unit and another electrical component with a more compact and inexpensive configuration.

Electronic unit according to the present invention for solving the above problems, a circuit board, the circuit of the circuit board, and the board connector mounted on the circuit board for connection to an external circuit through a wire, said circuit An electronic unit including a case for accommodating a board , wherein the board connector is formed on the circuit board and a terminal connection portion having a shape connectable to an electric wire side terminal attached to each end of the electric wire. A plurality of terminal fittings each having a board connecting portion having a shape connectable to a conductive path, and a housing holding these terminal fittings, wherein the housing has a shape into which the electric wire side terminal can be directly inserted. And a plurality of terminal storing recesses each having a locking portion for locking the electric wire side terminal, and the terminal fittings are inserted into the terminal storing recesses. They are respectively held in the housing in a state in which the terminal connecting portion is arranged inside of the terminal housing recess so as to be connected to the wire-side terminals, the circuit board, connector the substrate is attached A conductive path formed on the back surface of the substrate opposite to the side of the circuit board in a state of being aligned at a position along one side of the circuit board and individually conducting to the board connection portion of the terminal fitting. The case has a plurality of inspection pads, and the case has an opening for inspecting the electric wire connected to the board connector and exposing the plurality of inspection pads to the outside. It is what.

The electronic unit of this, the wire circuit board by wire-side terminals mounted on the end of a wire is (for details of the recess for the terminal housing of the housing) housing of the connector board is inserted directly to This connection state is maintained by being electrically connected to this circuit and by the locking portion in the terminal housing recess being locked to the electric wire side terminal.

That is, in this structure, a dedicated electric wire side housing (conventional electric wire side connector housing) for holding the electric wire side terminal is unnecessary, and the terminal accommodating recess for receiving the electric wire side terminal and the electric wire side terminal are engaged. Since the housing of the board connector having the locking portion to stop has the function of the electric wire side housing, the electric wire side housing and the board are held in the state where the electric wire side terminal is held by the dedicated electric wire side housing as in the prior art. Compared with the connection structure in which the connection state is maintained by the fitting of the connector with the housing of the connector for the circuit board, the fitting of the two housings is not necessary and the wire side terminal is directly held by the connector for the board. The connection between the electronic unit) and the external circuit (other electrical components) can be achieved with a more compact and inexpensive configuration.
In addition, a plurality of test pads are formed on the back surface of the circuit board so as to be formed in a state of being aligned in a position along one side of the circuit board and individually connected to the board connection portion of the terminal fitting. The case is provided with an opening through which the test pads can be exposed to the outside, so that a tester probe or the like is inserted into the case from the opening while the electric wire is connected to the circuit board. Then, by making contact with the board connection portion of each terminal metal fitting, it becomes possible to conduct a continuity test of the electric wire without taking out the circuit board from the case. In particular, since the positions (inspection pads) with which the probes are brought into contact are gathered as described above, the inspection can be performed efficiently and accurately.

In the conventional connection structure in which the wire side housing and the housing of the board connector are fitted in a state where the wire side terminal is held by the dedicated wire side housing, the wire is pulled and the wire side terminal is In order to reliably prevent so-called rear pull-out from falling off the side housing, a plurality of locking portions for locking the wire-side terminals are provided in the wire-side housing, and a retainer for double locking is provided in the wire-side housing. It is necessary to additionally mount the terminal locking member of this type and to lock the electric wire side terminal in a multiple manner on the electric wire side housing side. In the electronic unit board connector according to the present invention, It is also possible to double-lock the wire side terminal on the side. Specifically, for example, the housing includes a housing main body and a terminal locking member attached to the housing main body, and the locking portion includes a first locking portion provided in the housing main body and the terminal locking member. A second locking portion provided on the member, and the first locking portion is bent and displaced in a direction perpendicular to the insertion direction with the insertion of the electric wire side terminal into the terminal accommodating recess. When the wire side terminal is inserted to a predetermined position where the wire side terminal is connected to the terminal metal fitting by allowing the wire side terminal to be inserted into the terminal storage recess, the terminal metal side is defined as being engaged with the wire side terminal. It consists of a bending piece formed so as to regulate the displacement of the electric wire side terminal to the opposite side, and the second engaging portion is in a state where the electric wire side terminal is inserted to the predetermined position with respect to the terminal storing concave portion The terminal body is connected to the housing body. By use member is mounted, it may be formed so as to restrain from the opposite side of the said wire-side terminal the terminal fitting.

According to this configuration, when the wire side terminal is inserted into the terminal housing recess of the housing main body of the board connector, the first locking portion primarily locks the wire side terminal, and thus the wire When the terminal locking member is attached to the housing main body in which the side terminals are primarily formed, the second locking portion secondarily locks the electric wire side terminals. As a result, both primary locking and secondary locking of the electric wire side terminal are performed within the housing of the board connector, and the electric wire side terminal can be prevented from coming off more reliably while maintaining a simple structure.

In order to protect the circuit board, it is desirable that the case includes a lid member having a shape capable of opening and closing the opening.

On the other hand, the wire harness according to the present invention is a wire harness including an electronic unit and a plurality of electric wires for electrically connecting the electronic unit to other electrical components, and the electronic unit is any one of those described above. The plurality of electric wires each include the electric wire side terminal on one end side, and the electric wire side terminals are directly connected to the terminal insertion recesses of the board connector attached to the circuit board of the electronic unit. It is connected to the electronic unit by being inserted.

According to the configuration of the wire harness, since the connection between the electronic unit and each electric wire is achieved with a compact and inexpensive configuration as described above, this contributes to the compactness and low cost of the wire harness itself. It will be a thing.

According to electronic unit of the present invention can be achieved in a more compact and inexpensive construction the connection between the circuit board and an external circuit of the electronic unit. In addition, the continuity test and the like can be performed efficiently and accurately. Furthermore , according to the wire harness of the present invention, since the electric wire is connected to the electronic unit in advance, the wire harness for connecting the electronic unit (circuit board) and another electrical component (external circuit) The configuration can be made more compact and less expensive.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a schematic plan view showing a wire harness according to the present invention. A wire harness 1 shown in FIG. 1 includes an ECU 10 (electronic control unit; corresponding to an electronic unit according to the present invention) mounted on a vehicle and a plurality of electric wires 2 for connecting the ECU 10 to other electrical components. .

Each electric wire 2 is a covered electric wire, and one end thereof is connected to the ECU 10. The other end side of each electric wire 2 is bundled for each electrical component as a connection destination as shown in the figure, and a connector for external connection is provided at the end of this electric wire group. In the example shown in the drawing, the other end side of each electric wire 2 is bundled into three electric wire groups, and connectors C1 to C3 are respectively provided at the ends of these three electric wire groups. In other words, the ECU 10 is installed at a specific position of the vehicle, the connectors C1 to C3 are respectively coupled to the electrical component side connectors after the wire group is routed along a predetermined route, and thus included in the ECU 10. The circuit of the circuit board 12 described later and the circuit of the electrical component are electrically connected via the electric wire 2.

The “electronic unit” according to the present invention is not limited to the on-vehicle ECU 10 described above, and widely includes units having a predetermined electronic circuit.

2 and 3 show the ECU 10, FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the entire image (assembled state) of the ECU 10, and FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the ECU 10, respectively.

As shown in these drawings, the ECU 10 includes a circuit board 12 and a substantially rectangular parallelepiped case 30 in which the circuit board 12 is stored.

The case 30 is formed of a synthetic resin or the like having a box shape that is flat in the thickness direction of the circuit board 12 to be stored (hereinafter, this direction is referred to as the vertical direction) and has an opening 31 that opens to one side. Yes. The case 30 is composed of a pair of case constituent members (referred to as an upper case constituent member 30a and a lower case constituent member 30b) that are separable in the vertical direction.

The upper case constituent member 30a includes a substantially square top plate and has a shape integrally provided with side walls on three sides around the top plate. On the other hand, the lower case component member 30b includes a substantially square bottom plate that is slightly smaller than the top plate of the upper case component member 30a, and has a shape in which side walls are integrally provided around three sides of the bottom plate. The case 30 having the opening 31 is configured by overlapping the case constituent members 30a and 30b vertically so that the side wall of the upper case constituent member 30a is fitted on the side wall of the lower case constituent member 30b. ing.

Note that a locking window 34 is formed on a pair of side walls facing each other among the side walls of the upper case constituent member 30a, and a locking projection is formed on an outer surface of the pair of side walls facing each other among the side walls of the lower case constituent member 30b. When the case components 30a and 30b are fitted as described above, the locking projection 36 is inserted into the locking window 34, and the case components 30a and 30b are formed. The case members 30a and 30b are integrated by engaging with each other.

The circuit board 12 is formed of a substantially square printed board and has a predetermined electronic circuit constituted by a conductive path and a mounting component formed on the board.

At an end position along one side of the circuit board 12, a board connector 11 for connecting the electronic circuit to an external circuit, that is, a circuit of another electrical component is attached. As shown in FIG. The circuit board 12 is housed in the case 30 with the board connector 11 protruding from the opening 31 of the case 30 to the outside. Although not shown, a plurality of support portions project from the bottom plate of the lower case constituent member 30b of the case 30, and the circuit board 12 is supported by the support portions. It is fixed with screws or the like.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the board connector 11 includes a synthetic resin housing 20 and a plurality of terminal fittings 24 held by the housing 20.

The housing 20 includes a substantially rectangular parallelepiped housing main body 20a extending along one side of the circuit board 12, and a retainer 20b separate from the housing main body 20a attached to the housing main body 20a (corresponding to a terminal locking member according to the present invention). Including).

The housing body 20a extends in a direction (hereinafter referred to as the front-rear direction) that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the housing (hereinafter referred to as the width direction) and parallel to the surface of the circuit board 12 (hereinafter referred to as the front-rear direction). Then, a plurality of terminal housing recesses 22 that open toward the left) are provided.

These terminal storage recesses 22 are provided in two upper and lower stages in a row in the width direction of the housing main body 20a, and the wire side terminals 3 to be described later are fixed to the terminals on one end side of the wire 2, respectively. It has a shape that can be inserted along its axial direction.

Each of the terminal fittings 24 is a male terminal having an axial shape, and is held by the housing main body 20a in a state where one end side is inserted into the terminal accommodating recess 22. Specifically, each terminal fitting 24 has an L-shape having a horizontal portion extending substantially parallel to the surface of the circuit board 12 and a vertical portion extending in a direction orthogonal to the surface of the circuit board 12. The tip of the horizontal portion penetrates the rear partition wall 23 of the housing body 20a and is held by the rear partition wall 23 in a state of being inserted into the terminal housing recess 22. As a result, a tab-like terminal connection portion 24a (hereinafter referred to as a tab-like connection portion 24a) for the electric wire side terminal 3 is constituted by a portion of the horizontal portion of the terminal fitting 24 that is inserted into the terminal housing recess 22. On the other hand, a board connecting portion 24b for the circuit board 12 is constituted by the vertical portion.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, the housing 20 is installed on the circuit board 12 in a state where the board connecting portions 24 b of the terminal fittings 24 are inserted into the through holes 14 formed in the circuit board 12. . And each terminal metal fitting 24 is soldered etc. with respect to the electroconductive part formed in the circumference | surroundings of the through hole 14, The housing 20 is fixed with respect to the said circuit board 12, and each terminal metal fitting 24 is a circuit. It is electrically connected to the electronic circuit of the substrate 12. The housing 20 may be fixed to the circuit board 12 by fixing means such as an adhesive or screwing.

The housing main body 20a has a locking lance 25 for locking (primary locking) the wire-side terminal 3 inserted in the terminal housing recess 22 to the housing main body 20a (on the first locking portion according to the present invention). Equivalent). The locking lance 25 is composed of a bending piece provided in the ceiling portion of each terminal storing recess 22 and capable of bending and displacing in the vertical direction. The locking lance 25 bends upward as the electric wire side terminal 3 is inserted into the terminal recess 22. Thus, the insertion of the electric wire side terminal 3 into the terminal accommodating concave portion 22 is allowed, and when the electric wire side terminal 3 is inserted to the back end portion of the terminal accommodating concave portion 22, the electric wire side terminal 3 is engaged and reversed. The displacement of the wire side terminal 3 in the direction, that is, the side opposite to the terminal fitting 24 side (left side in FIG. 4) is restricted.

In the housing body 20a, a retainer fitting groove 21 extending in the direction in which the terminal housing recesses 22 are arranged is formed at a position between the front end of the housing body 20a and the locking lance 25 and at the top of the housing body. The retainer 20b is mounted on the housing body 20a in a state in which the retainer 20b is fitted in the retainer fitting groove 21.

The retainer 20b is for double-locking the electric wire side terminal 3 inserted into each terminal accommodating recess 22 to the board connector 11 side, and in this example, a part of the terminal accommodating recess 22 is provided. It is formed to constitute. That is, the retainer 20b includes a plurality of through-holes 27 in the front-rear direction having a cross section substantially the same as the cross-sectional shape of the terminal storage recess 22 and arranged in a line in the width direction at the same pitch as the terminal storage recess 22. As shown in FIG. 4, a substantially middle portion of the upper terminal storage recess 22 of the upper and lower terminal storage recesses 22 is constituted by these through holes 27, and each lower terminal storage The ceiling portion of the substantially intermediate portion of the recess 22 is constituted by the bottom portion of the retainer 20b.

The retainer 20b is provided so as to be displaceable in a vertical direction (a direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction of the terminal accommodating recesses 22 in each stage) with respect to the board connector 11 by a certain dimension. Specifically, in the retainer 20b, the terminal housing recess 20 of the housing main body 20a and the through hole 27 of the retainer 20b are continuously inserted in the front-rear direction to allow insertion of the post-wire side terminal 3 into each terminal housing recess 22. And a temporary mounting position (position shown in FIG. 4) and a main mounting position (position shown in FIG. 6) displaced downward from this position. As will be described later, the electric wire side terminals 3 inserted in the respective terminal storage recesses 22 in the upper and lower stages are restrained from the rear side. In this example, the state in which the retainer 20b is disposed at the main mounting position corresponds to the state in which the terminal locking member is mounted on the housing body in the present invention.

The electric wire 2 is connected to the ECU 10 configured as described above. Hereinafter, the connection structure of the electric wire 2 to the ECU 10 will be described.

A wire-side terminal 3 as shown in FIG. 4 having a shape that can be fitted to the terminal fitting 24 of the board connector 11 is fixed to the end portion on the one end side of each wire 2. The wire-side terminal 3 is a female terminal having a box-shaped terminal connection portion 4 provided therein with a contact bending piece 4 a that can be bent and displaced in the vertical direction, and the tab-shaped connection portion of the board connector 11. 24 a is inserted into the terminal connecting portion 4 from the tip end side thereof, and is electrically connected to the terminal fitting 24 by contacting the contact bending piece 4 a.

Each electric wire 2 is connected to the ECU 10 (circuit board 12) via the board connector 11 by directly inserting the electric wire side terminal 3 into the housing 20 of the board connector 11.

The electric wire side terminal 3 is not held in a dedicated housing as in the prior art, but is directly inserted into the board connector 11 according to the following procedure, connected to the circuit on the circuit board 12 side, and securely held. . First, as shown in FIG. 4, with the retainer 20b set to the temporary mounting position, the electric wire side terminal 3 is inserted into the terminal accommodating recess 22 along its axial direction. When the electric wire side terminal 3 is pushed into the inner end of the terminal storing recess 22 in this way, the tab-like connecting portion 24a of the terminal fitting 24 is inserted into the terminal connecting portion 4 of the electric wire side terminal 3 as shown in FIG. Then, the contact piece 4a comes into contact with the contact piece 4a, whereby the wire 2 is electrically connected to the circuit board 12 via the wire side terminal 3 and the terminal fitting 24. The tip of the locking lance 25 is engaged with the wire side terminal 3 by entering the locking window 4b provided in the terminal connection portion 4 of the wire side terminal 3, whereby the wire side terminal 3 is connected to the substrate. The connector 11 is directly locked in the housing 20.

Next, the retainer 20b is pushed into the housing main body 20a from above, thereby displacing the retainer 20b to the full mounting position. When the retainer 20b is displaced to the main mounting position in this way, as shown in FIG. 6, the end of the retainer 20b, more specifically, the upper and lower edges 26a and 26b of the through-hole 27 (second locking according to the present invention). Are arranged at positions on the rear side (left side in the figure) of the terminal connecting portion 4 of the electric wire side terminal 3, whereby the electric wire side terminal 3 is restrained from the rear side by the retainer 20b.

That is, the electric wire side terminals 3 inserted into the respective terminal storage recesses 22 are locked in the direction of preventing the withdrawal from the housing 20 by the locking lances 25 provided in the terminal storage recesses 22 as described above. (Referred to as primary locking) and is similarly locked by the retainer 20b in a direction opposite to the pulling direction (referred to as secondary locking). Both primary locking and secondary locking are performed.

According to the configuration of the wire harness 1 according to the present invention as described above, the wire-side terminal 3 attached to the end of the wire 2 is directly inserted into the housing 20 (terminal housing recess 22) of the board connector 11. As a result, the electric wire 2 is electrically connected to the circuit of the circuit board 12, and the connection lance 25 and the like in the terminal housing recess 22 engage the electric wire side terminal 3 to maintain this connection state. Therefore, the ECU 10 and other electrical components can be connected with a more compact and inexpensive configuration. That is, in this configuration, a dedicated electric wire side housing (housing for the conventional electric wire side connector) for holding the electric wire side terminal 3 is not necessary, and the terminal housing recess 22 for receiving the electric wire side terminal 3 and the electric wire side. Since the housing 20 of the board connector 11 having the locking lance 25 or the like for locking the terminal 3 also has the function of the electric wire side housing, the electric wire side terminal is held by the dedicated electric wire side housing as in the prior art. Compared with the connection structure in which the connection state is maintained by fitting the electric wire side housing and the board connector housing in the state, the fitting between the two housings is unnecessary, and the electric wire side terminal 3 is directly connected to the board connector. 11, the connection between the circuit board (electronic unit) and the external circuit (other electrical components) is achieved with a more compact and inexpensive configuration. Door can be.

In the wire harness 1, when the wire side terminal 3 is inserted into the terminal housing recess 22 of the housing body 20 a of the board connector 11, the locking lance 25 primarily locks the wire side terminal 3. In addition, when the retainer 20b is mounted (set to the main mounting position) on the housing body 20a in which the wire-side terminal 3 is primarily formed as described above, the edges 26a and 26b of the through-hole 27 become the wire-side terminal. 3 is secondarily locked, so that it is possible to effectively prevent the so-called wire-side terminal 3 from being pulled out by pulling the wire-side terminal 3 from the housing 20 when the wire is pulled. In particular, since the primary locking and the secondary locking of the electric wire side terminal 3 are both performed in the housing 20 of the board connector 11, the rearward disconnection of the electric wire side terminal 3 is ensured while maintaining the simple structure as described above. Can be prevented.

Although not mentioned in the above description, as shown in FIG. 2, the case 30 is provided with a notch 32 formed on the upper portion thereof so as to extend the opening 31 to the rear side. Yes. The notch 32 includes an operation of detaching the retainer 20b from the housing body 20a of the board connector 11 (including a displacement operation between the temporary mounting position and the main mounting position) in a state where the circuit board 12 is housed in the case 30. It has a shape that allows That is, in the above-described ECU 10, as a result of such a notch 32 being formed in the case 30, the circuit board 12 is housed in the case 30 while suppressing the amount of protrusion of the board connector 11 to the outside of the case 30. The retainer 20b can be detached and attached as it is.

By the way, the above-described wire harness 1 is an example of the best embodiment of the wire harness according to the present invention, and a specific configuration of the wire harness 1, such as an ECU 10 (electronic unit according to the present invention) or a circuit board of the ECU 10. The specific configuration of the board connector 11 (the board connector according to the present invention) fixed to the board 12 can be appropriately changed without departing from the gist of the present invention.

For example, in the wire harness 1 described above, since one end side of each electric wire 2 is connected to the board connector 11 of the circuit board 12 (ECU 10), it is difficult to conduct a continuity check of each electric wire 2 in the assembled state. is there. Accordingly, the ECU 10 of the wire harness 1 has, as shown in FIG. 7, each terminal fitting 24 among the terminal fittings 24 (board connecting portions 24 b) of the board connector 11 and the conductive paths of the circuit board 12, in the case 30. It is preferable to provide an opening 37 having a shape that allows a portion to be connected to be exposed to the outside. According to this configuration, a tester probe or the like can be inserted into the case 30 from the opening 37 and brought into contact with each terminal fitting 24 or the like. Can be done without difficulty. In this case, in order to protect the circuit board 12 from trouble due to intrusion of foreign matter, the case 30 preferably includes a lid member 38 that can open and close the opening 37 as shown in FIG.

Further, for the convenience of the continuity test of the electric wire 2, for example, the circuit board 12 may be provided with a conductive path for continuity test as shown in FIGS. That is, on the back surface of the circuit board 12 shown in the figure, a plurality of pads 16a dedicated for continuity testing are formed in an aggregated manner at positions along one side of the circuit board 12. These pads 16a are individually connected to the conductive portions 14a formed around the through-holes 14 through the conduction paths 16a. The pads 16a are electrically connected to the pads 16a by bringing a probe or the like into contact with the pads 16a. It is formed so that the electrical connection state of the electric wire 2 connected to the terminal fitting 24 can be inspected. According to such a configuration, the inspection can be performed without being obstructed by the mounted components and the pad 16a is concentrated at a specific position on the circuit board 12, so that the position where the probe or the like is brought into contact can be determined. The time and effort required for searching can be reduced, thereby making it possible to efficiently conduct a continuity test and the like. Each pad 16a is not necessarily formed along one side of the circuit board 12, but is formed at a specific position on the circuit board 12 in order to efficiently conduct a continuity test or the like. Is preferable. In this case, the opening 37 may be provided so as to expose a portion of the circuit board 12 where the pads 16a are collectively arranged.
