Description
The present invention relates to a light source unit in an image reading apparatus such as a scanner device, a copying machine, or a facsimile, and relates to an improvement of a light source mechanism that irradiates a reading surface.
In general, a light source unit in an image reading device such as a scanner device or a copying machine is widely known as a device that irradiates a reading platen with light from a light source, condenses the reflected light, and performs photoelectric conversion by a photoelectric conversion sensor.
As this light source unit, for example, as disclosed in
In the image reading apparatus having such a configuration, the light source unit is required to emit uniform light in the main scanning direction (line sensor arrangement direction). For this reason, conventionally, a rod-like light emitter such as a fluorescent lamp (cold cathode tube) or an LED array is used as a light source lamp, or a rod light source that diffuses a point light source along a reading line and emits it from a predetermined angle is used. .
As this light source unit, a light guide member with excellent translucency is formed in a linear shape, a point light source such as a light emitting diode is incident from the end surface, and linear light is formed by this light guide to irradiate the reading surface A light source unit is known. Such a light source structure is characterized in that the amount of heat generation is concentrated on the circuit board on which the light emitting diode is mounted, the heat dissipation process becomes easy, and at the same time the unit can be made compact and compact.
When mounting a substrate on which such a light emitting diode is mounted to an apparatus, for example, a carriage unit,
Similarly, Patent Document 3 proposes a device in which a substrate on which a light emitting diode is mounted is closely attached to a heat dissipating member and fixed with screws. Patent Document 4 also discloses a device in which a substrate on which a light emitting diode is mounted is fixed to a heat sink with screws.
As described above, a light source unit that mounts a light emitter such as a light emitting diode on a circuit board, disperses the light, and irradiates the reading surface as linear light is already known. In this case, conventionally, heat locally generated on the substrate is radiated by a heat sink or the like.
Therefore, conventionally, a substrate such as an epoxy resin is brought into close contact with a metal heat radiating member such as an aluminum alloy and fixed with screws or the like. Such a heat dissipation method causes the following problems. When the heat dissipating member (referred to as a heat dissipating frame) and the substrate are lifted without intimate contact, an air layer is interposed therebetween. This air layer hinders the heat of the substrate from propagating to the heat dissipating frame and causes problems such as the substrate being heated and deformed.
In this case, it is conceivable to fix the substrate with a plurality of screws so as to prevent the substrate from being lifted. However, disposing a large number of screw holes on the board hinders the wiring circuit of the board, and at the same time, screw holes penetrating the board cause a problem of reducing the heat dissipation effect. Therefore, the circuit board on which the light emitting diode is mounted is fixed in close contact with the heat dissipating frame so as not to form an air layer, and the fixing screw is located away from the light emitting diode with as few screw holes as possible. It is required to arrange. On the other hand, as previously disclosed in Patent Documents 3 and 4 above, since the substrate is fixed directly to the heat dissipating frame simply with screws, the surface of the heat dissipating frame such as a heat sink (such as an aluminum alloy) is uneven. There was a problem with heat propagation.
Therefore, the present inventor tried to closely bond the substrate and the heat dissipation frame by interposing an elastic heat conductive resin plate between the heat dissipation frame and the substrate, and the substrate is distorted by heat. I encountered a problem. Therefore, a structure has been devised to securely fix the substrate to the heat dissipation frame without distortion.
An object of the present invention is to provide a light source unit having a simple structure and excellent heat dissipation effect when fixing a circuit board on which a light emitter is mounted to a heat dissipation frame, and an image reading apparatus using the light source unit.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides an insulating resin plate between a mounting frame and a substrate when a flat substrate having a light emitter mounted on a mounting frame having thermal conductivity is fixed with a fixing plate. And an urging means for closely attaching the substrate and the insulating resin plate to the fixed plate, and the substrate and the resin plate are integrally attached to the mounting frame with a fixing screw through a through hole. As a result, the substrate surface, the resin plate, and the mounting frame are fixed in close contact with each other, and heat generated in the substrate can be propagated to the mounting frame having thermal conductivity to be radiated.
Specifically, the configuration is a light source unit that irradiates the reading surface (R) with linear light and is a flat substrate (16) on which a light emitter (40) is mounted, and a mounting frame (14) having thermal conductivity. ) And a fixing plate (17) that clamps and fixes the substrate to the mounting frame, and an insulating resin plate (15) is provided between the mounting frame and the substrate, and the fixing plate Is provided with an urging means for bringing the substrate and the insulating resin plate into close contact with each other, and the fixing plate, the substrate and the plate insulating resin plate are fixed to the mounting frame via a through hole (19). Attach it as a unit.
In this case, the urging means is constituted by a leaf spring that is integrated with or fixed to the fixed plate, or a screw member that presses the substrate surface provided on the fixed plate.
In the present invention, a flat substrate having a light-emitting body mounted on a mounting frame having thermal conductivity is clamped by a fixing plate via an insulating resin plate, and the substrate and the insulating resin plate are brought into close contact with the fixing plate. Since the urging means is provided, the following effects are obtained.
Since the insulating resin plate is interposed between the flat substrate on which the light emitting body is mounted and the mounting frame having thermal conductivity, the fixing plate is clamped and fixed by elastic deformation of the resin plate. The substrate is pressed tightly without forming an air layer. As a result, heat generated in the light emitter (such as LED) mounted on the substrate is quickly transmitted in the order of the substrate, the resin plate, and the mounting frame, and is dissipated from the mounting frame.
At this time, the substrate and the resin plate may be elastically deformed to form an air layer and hinder heat conduction. However, in the present invention, the fixing plate is provided with an urging means for closely contacting the substrate and the insulating resin plate. The substrate can be prevented from being lifted, and at the same time, screw holes for fixing screws can be provided at a minimum (for example, at two locations), thereby enabling reliable fixing.
Furthermore, the present invention provides a heating element by adopting a circuit configuration in which a light emitting body is attached to the surface of a substrate (PWB), a printed circuit (light emitting circuit) connected to the heating element is formed on the substrate, and the substrate is in close contact with the resin plate. Since the heat is propagated from the printed circuit to the resin plate and is radiated from the plate to the mounting frame, the heat of the heating element mounted on the substrate can be radiated to the mounting frame with a simple structure.

As shown in FIG. 2, the first platen 3 and the
The
The

The light
As shown in FIG. 4, the
As described above, the

In this embodiment, the
The

[Circuit board mounting structure]
Therefore, the present invention is characterized in that the
FIG. 5 shows a first embodiment in which the
A
Therefore, the
As shown in FIG. 5, through-
In this way, the fixing
Accordingly, as shown in FIG. 7 (b), the fixing
[Different mounting structure of circuit board (second embodiment)]
FIG. 8 shows an embodiment different from the mounting structure described in FIG. As shown in FIG. 8A, the fixing
[Configuration of circuit board]
As described above, a plurality of light emitting elements (LEDs) are mounted on the
44 shows a power supply terminal, which is composed of a circuit for supplying power to the
Simultaneously with this action, the heat generated in the
[Light source control configuration]
The control of the
Such light amount adjustment is possible by adopting one of the following methods. (1) The power supplied to the
In the next method, (2) light amount adjusting means for selectively lighting the first and second and at least two
In such a configuration, when the
