Claims (9)
- 電池保護ICの他に電池パックを制御する制御ICを備える電池パックにおいて、
第一及び第二外部接続用端子と、
電池と、
前記電池と前記第二外部接続用端子との間に直列に設けられる放電制御FET及び充電制御FETと、
前記電池の電圧をモニタすることにより、前記電池の電圧が過放電電圧以下になることを検出し、前記放電制御FETをオフさせ、シャットダウンし、また、前記電池の電圧をモニタすることにより、前記電池の電圧が過充電電圧以上になることを検出し、前記充電制御FETをオフさせる前記電池保護ICと、
所定の時に電池パックを制御し、また、前記第二外部接続用端子に設けられる第二電圧モニタ端子を備え、前記第二電圧モニタ端子の電圧をモニタすることにより、前記電池が前記過放電状態になることを検出し、シャットダウンする前記制御ICと、
を備えることを特徴とする電池パック。 - 前記電池保護ICは、前記第二外部接続用端子に設けられる第一電圧モニタ端子を備え、前記第一電圧モニタ端子の電圧をモニタすることにより、前記電池の放電電流が放電過電流以上になることを検出し、前記放電制御FETをオフさせる、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池パック。 - 前記制御ICは、
前記電池の電圧が過放電電圧以下になる場合、前記第二電圧モニタ端子の電圧が所定電圧になることを検出するコンパレータ、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の電池パック。 - 前記コンパレータは、
前記第二電圧モニタ端子の電圧が所定電圧になる場合、オフするMOSトランジスタと、
前記MOSトランジスタに直列接続される抵抗素子と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項3記載の電池パック。 - 前記コンパレータは、
基準電圧を生成する基準電圧生成回路と、
前記第二電圧モニタ端子の電圧を分圧し、分圧電圧を出力する分圧回路と、
前記基準電圧と前記分圧電圧とを比較する差動増幅回路と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項3記載の電池パック。 - 前記第二電圧モニタ端子は、第二抵抗を介して前記第二外部接続用端子に接続される、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池パック。 - 前記第一電圧モニタ端子は、第一抵抗を介して前記第二外部接続用端子に接続され、
前記第二電圧モニタ端子は、第二抵抗を介して前記第二外部接続用端子に接続される、
ことを特徴とする請求項2記載の電池パック。 - 前記第一電圧モニタ端子は、第一抵抗を介して前記第二外部接続用端子に接続され、且つ、前記第二電圧モニタ端子に接続される、
ことを特徴とする請求項2記載の電池パック。 - 前記制御ICは、温度が高温の異常温度及び/または低温の異常温度になる場合、電池保護パックを制御する温度スイッチICである、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から8のいずれかに記載の電池パック。
