Description
The present invention relates to an irradiation direction variable headlamp whose irradiation direction is variable to the left and right, and a projection lens used for the irradiation direction variable headlamp.
There is known a headlamp used for a vehicle such as an automobile, that is, a headlamp or an auxiliary headlamp that can change the irradiation direction in the horizontal direction (
By changing the irradiation direction to the left and right direction, when traveling on a curved road, it is possible to direct the irradiation light in the direction in which the vehicle is about to turn, and it is more on the side of the road than if only the front of the traveling direction is irradiated. The situation can be accurately judged, and driving safety can be improved.
Conventionally, the irradiation direction is changed in the left-right direction by “rotating the entire headlamp around the vertical axis”.
Recently, the use of high-intensity LEDs has been proposed as a light source for headlamps (
On the other hand, a high-intensity LED generates a large amount of heat as it emits light, and cooling means such as heat radiation fins are necessary to achieve stable light emission. It must be large.
For this reason, if it is going to change the irradiation direction by rotating the whole headlamp with the headlamp which used high-intensity LED as a light source, big energy will be needed for rotation of a headlamp.
This invention is made | formed in view of the situation mentioned above, Comprising: Let it be a subject to change an irradiation direction with little energy, using high-intensity LED as a light source.
The irradiation direction variable headlamp of the present invention is a “irradiation direction variable headlamp in which a high luminance LED is used as a light source and the irradiation direction is variable left and right”, and has the following characteristics.
That is, the irradiation direction variable headlamp includes a high-intensity LED, a power supply unit, a projection lens, a cut-off line forming member, a reflector, a cooling unit, and an irradiation direction variable unit.
The “high brightness LED” is used as a light source. The high-intensity LED is blinked by power supply means outside the headlamp.
The “projection lens” is a lens that projects a light beam from the high-brightness LED forward and has a positive power.
The “cut-off line forming member” is a member for forming a cut-off line, and has an opening having a predetermined shape.
The “reflector” reflects and collects light from the high-brightness LED.
“Cooling means” is means for cooling the high-intensity LED that is the light source.
“Irradiation direction varying means” is means for changing the irradiation direction to the left and right.
The reflector, the high-intensity LED, and the cut-off line forming member are provided in the optical axis direction of the projection lens, but in the direction of irradiation, that is, toward the projection lens, the reflector, the high-intensity LED, the cut-off line forming member, and the projection lens It is provided in order.
The “cut-off line forming member” has the “predetermined opening” as described above, but the lower part of the pre-set opening forms the “cut-off line having an elbow at the center in the left-right direction”.
The reflector is a concave ellipsoidal reflector, and “a light emitting portion of a high-intensity LED is arranged near one focal point, an opening of the cut-off line forming member is arranged near the other focal point, and the other focal point position. Is substantially coincident with the position of the elbow of the cut-off line forming member ”.
The projection lens projects a cut-off line. That is, “the position of the elbow of the cut-off line” in the opening of the cut-off line forming member is set to “the object side focal plane position of the projection lens” on the object side of the projection lens.
The projection lens is composed of two or three lenses.
The irradiation direction variable means translates only the projection lens in the left-right direction orthogonal to the optical axis, and the projection lens “effectively generates aberrations caused by parallel movement in the left-right direction orthogonal to the optical axis. It is formed to “correct”.
In other words, the coma generated by the above-mentioned parallel movement is "the cut-off line image projected by the irradiation beam is not disturbed when the projection lens is translated in the left-right direction and the irradiation direction is directed to the side". It is formed to correct.
Thus, the irradiation direction variable headlamp according to
At this time, as described above, the “elbow position” is arranged in the vicinity of the object-side focal plane position of the projection lens (preferably on the focal plane), but the projection lens irradiates the reference beam (irradiated light beam toward the front). The elbow is positioned at the “object-side focal position”, and when swiveled, it is “displaced on the object-side focal plane” relative to the optical axis when viewed from the projection lens side.
The “cooling means” used in the irradiation direction variable headlamp according to
The cooling means used in the irradiation direction variable headlamp according to
That is, the cooling means can be constituted by a Peltier element alone or a heat radiating means alone, but it can also be constituted so as to have a Peltier element and a heat radiating means.
When the cooling means is constituted by the Peltier element and the heat radiating means, the “insufficient cooling effect by the heat radiating means” can be compensated by the cooling by the Peltier element even if the heat radiating means is downsized. Further, “energy required for cooling” can be reduced as compared with the case where the Peltier element is cooled alone.
The projection lens of this invention is a projection lens used for the irradiation direction variable headlamp according to any one of
That is, the projection lens is composed of two or three lenses as described above, and is installed in the positional relationship as described above with respect to the cut-off line forming member, the reflector, and the high-intensity LED. It is displaced in the left-right direction orthogonal to the axial direction.
The optical function is to “project a cut-off line”, and the lens configuration is composed of a plurality of lenses. The optical performance is formed so as to effectively correct “aberration caused by parallel movement in the left-right direction orthogonal to the optical axis”.
In the irradiation direction variable headlamp according to the present invention, the “projection lens only” is translated by the irradiation direction variable means to change the irradiation direction in the left-right direction. The change range of the irradiation direction is “about ± 20 degrees” in the left-right direction with respect to the front.
To change the irradiation direction, it is not necessary to rotate the “whole headlight including the heavy cooling means”, and only the relatively light projection lens needs to be moved in parallel. Less energy is required.
Since the displacement of the projection lens is a parallel movement, the irradiation direction variable means can be simply configured by various conventionally known linear displacement mechanisms such as “a combination of a guide bar and an eccentric cam”.
As described above, the projection lens is installed in the positional relationship as described above with respect to the cut-off line forming member, the reflector, and the high-intensity LED, and is displaced in the left-right direction orthogonal to the optical axis direction by the irradiation direction variable means.
As described above, the projection lens is formed so as to effectively correct “aberration caused by parallel movement in the left-right direction orthogonal to the optical axis”, but the most important of these aberrations to be corrected What is “coma aberration”.
Therefore, the projection lens of the present invention has a function of correcting coma aberration that occurs with the parallel movement.
That is, during swiveling, the optical axis of the projection lens deviates from “the direction of the light beam to be projected by parallel movement”, so that the coma aberration is applied to the irradiation light beam whose irradiation direction is changed (referred to as “oblique irradiation light beam”). If the coma aberration is not corrected well, the “light beam quality” of the obliquely irradiated light beam deteriorates.
The function of the so-called “passing beam” is that the image of the projected off-line is disturbed and the light that travels above the cut-off line is generated in the “obliquely irradiated beam” whose beam quality has deteriorated due to coma. Will be damaged.
The “projection lens” does not require advanced aberration correction like an imaging lens, so the degree of “correcting coma due to translation in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the optical axis” is parallel to the projection lens in the horizontal direction. so moved, when directing the irradiation direction laterally, is the degree to which the condition is satisfied that the image of the cutoff line is not disturbed to irradiation beam projection.
In the irradiation direction variable headlamp according to the present invention, since the projection lens is composed of a plurality of lenses, not only the above coma aberration but also “other than the occurrence of parallel movement in the left-right direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the projection lens” It is possible to take sufficient design parameters necessary for effectively correcting the “aberration” of the image.
From the viewpoint of effective correction of coma aberration, the larger the number of lenses constituting the projection lens, the easier the correction. However, when the number of lenses constituting the projection lens increases, the projection lens changes in the irradiation direction. Even when only the lens is translated, the weight of the projection lens is increased, and the energy for changing the irradiation direction is increased.
Considering the balance between correction of coma aberration and “energy required for changing the irradiation direction”, the number of lenses constituting the projection lens is preferably two to three .
In order to effectively correct coma with a small number of lenses, such as two to three , it is preferable to employ an aspherical surface for one or more lens surfaces.
Further, as the number of constituent lenses increases, the total length of the projection lens increases, and as a result, the irradiation direction variable headlamp becomes larger. In order to effectively avoid this, at least one of a plurality of lenses constituting the projection lens (for example, a lens having the maximum thickness in the projection lens system), a Fresnel lens, a zone plate, a prism array, a DOE, etc. It is effective to use “an optical lens having an optical surface having a refractive power on a discontinuous surface” .
Further, in order to save energy of the parallel movement of the projection lens, it is a matter of course that the projection lens is preferably lightweight, and the use of the optical lens according to claim 5 such as a Fresnel lens is also preferable from this aspect. To reduce the weight of the lens itself, it is good to at least one lens and the resin lens (Claim 6).
As described above, according to the present invention, a novel irradiation direction variable headlamp and a projection lens used therefor can be provided.
The irradiation direction variable headlamp according to the present invention treats heat generated by using a high-intensity LED as a light source by the cooling means, and the irradiation direction is increased even if the total weight of the headlamp is increased by providing the cooling means. Since the irradiation direction is varied by moving only the projection lens in parallel by the variable means, an increase in energy required to change the irradiation direction can be suppressed.
In addition, coma aberration caused by moving only the projection lens in parallel is effectively corrected by increasing the degree of design freedom by setting the number of constituent lenses of the projection lens to two or three . It can effectively prevent “deterioration”.
Therefore, not only when irradiating directly in front but also when irradiating in an oblique direction, it is possible to realize a high-quality irradiation light beam with energy saving.
