Description
The present invention relates to a shielded beam type discharge lamp. Specifically, the present invention relates to a shielded beam type discharge lamp provided with a reflector and a method for manufacturing the same.
The shield beam type discharge lamp is a lamp in which a lens, an arc tube, a reflector and the like are integrally formed and sealed, and the arc tube uses arc discharge as a light source. In the shielded beam type discharge lamp, it is desirable that the light reflecting surface of the reflector is as large as possible and directed in a predetermined direction by effectively using the light flux from the light source.
On the inner peripheral surface of the reflector, a metal light reflecting surface that reflects the light flux from the arc tube is formed. The region of the light reflecting surface may be expanded to the open end as much as possible with respect to the open end side (lens side) of the reflector. However, on the closed end side (lamp base side) of the reflector, since two lead wires for supplying power to the arc tube penetrate the reflector, a certain insulating region (that is, a metal light reflecting surface is It is necessary to provide a region that is not formed.
On the other hand, the shield beam type discharge lamp has many kinds of lamps depending on the output, size, shape of the reflector, and the like.
Therefore, it is difficult to uniquely determine the insulating region provided on the closed end side of the reflector for all types of shield beam type discharge lamps.

In the drawings, the same elements are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description is omitted.

Each element will be briefly described.
The
The translucent cover 3 has a lens action and is typically formed of hard glass, a translucent resin, or the like. The space surrounded by the
The
The
The
In the shielded beam
(Reflector)
FIG. 2 is a view of the
The shield beam
Accordingly, it is difficult to uniquely determine the optimum shape, size, etc. of the insulating region for all the shield beam
However, according to this embodiment, this problem can be solved and a shielded beam type discharge lamp provided with an optimal reflector for each lamp can be provided. In the present embodiment, the present inventors have formed a metal
In other words, dielectric breakdown between the leads that occurs after completion of the lamp will be detrimental to the lamp. However, the present embodiment is based on the fact that the inventors have found that the discharge in the outer sphere performed during the exhaust process before the completion of the lamp is beneficial in order to define an optimum insulating region for each lamp. ing.
FIG. 3 is a part of a manufacturing process of the shielded beam
In the conventional manufacturing process, a ferrule is driven into the reflector (step S10). Next, a portion corresponding to a predetermined insulating region (see
For this reason, the shape, size, etc. of the insulating region are uniquely determined in advance by the shape, size, etc. of masking in the masking process.
On the other hand, in the formation process of the vapor deposition film of the reflector according to the present embodiment, a ferrule is driven into the reflector as in the conventional process (step S1). In the next stage, there is no masking process, and a metal such as aluminum is deposited on the inner peripheral surface of the reflector (step S2). Next, the lamp is assembled as in the conventional process (step S3). Finally, while exhausting the inside of the lamp through the exhaust pipe, a high voltage pulse is applied to the two lead wires to cause dielectric breakdown between the lead wires, and discharge inside the outer sphere to make a lamp. . (Step S4). This process is also referred to as “exhaust bulb internal discharge” in the present application document.
The high voltage pulse is preferably the start pulse used for the lamp (eg, about 3-5 kV), but is not limited thereto. The application of the high voltage pulse may be performed once or a plurality of times.
Due to the discharge in the outer sphere, a part of the metal vapor deposition film becomes high temperature and vaporizes and disappears, and an optimum insulating region for the lamp is formed. Most of the evaporated film is considered to be discharged to the outside along with the exhaust stream. Even if a part of the film is reattached to the deposited film, there is no actual harm. As a precaution, the discharge in the outer sphere during exhaust by the start pulse is performed twice, so that even if it is reattached to the place to be the insulation region in the first time, the reattachment portion that induces dielectric breakdown is removed.
In this embodiment, since the outer sphere discharge is generated for each lamp to form the insulating region, the shape, size, and the like of the insulating region are optimal for each lamp.

[Difference from cited document 1]
FIG. 4 is a diagram cited from the above-mentioned

Compared with the shielded beam type discharge lamp (see FIG. 1) according to the present embodiment, the technical difference is as follows.
(1) In Cited

It is unclear whether the definition of the shortest distance d obtained from the experimental results for a 150 W shielded discharge lamp can be applied to lamps with other outputs. Such a problem is also solved in the lamp according to the present embodiment by forming an insulating region for each lamp by discharge in the outer sphere during exhaust.
