Description
図1は本発明の製造方法により作製したソケット10の縦断面略図である。ソケット10は、例えばポリエチレンからなる熱可塑性樹脂のスリーブ1と、スリーブ1の内周面に螺旋状に形成されたU字状の凹溝2に装着された電熱線3と、スリーブ1の左右端に装着され電熱線3の両端部と接続されているコネクターピン4(4a、4b)を有している。スリーブ1の内周面5は、左方から挿入されたプラスチック管(図示せず)の表面を溶融して融着する左融着部6aと、右方から挿入されたプラスチック管(図示せず)の表面を溶融して融着する右融着部6bと、左融着部6aと左コネクターピン4aとの間の左巻端部7aと、右融着部6bと右コネクターピン4bとの間の右巻端部7bと、左融着部6aと右融着部6bとの間の渡り部8とに区分けされ、凹溝2は左巻端部7aから右巻端部7bまで連続して形成されており、この中に1本の連続した電熱線3が装着されている。
まず、長さ及び内外径が所定の寸法に加工された熱可塑性樹脂のスリーブ1を準備し、その内周面5にU字状の凹溝2を螺旋状に切削加工で形成する。凹溝2は、基本的には、図3(a)に示すように、幅aを電熱線3の直径dと同じかわずかに小さい寸法に、深さbを電熱線の直径dより大きい寸法に、溝底部を電熱線の半径とほぼ同じ半径寸法の円弧形状になるように加工されるが、ピッチ及び溝深さなどは前述したように融着部6、巻端部7、渡り部8の各領域に合わせて適宜調整される。
前述した製造方法をもとに、内径が約110mmのポリエチレン製スリーブに直径0.65mmの電熱線を装着した呼称100Aのソケットを2種類製作し、融着部と巻端部における電熱線の浮き上がりと空隙残存状態を評価した。2種類のソケットは、サンプル1が通電処理をしたもの、サンプル2が通電処理をしないものという点で電熱線の装着方法が異なっている以外は、融着部及び巻端部における凹溝寸法、舌状部形成方法、舌状部押付け方法などは同じ仕様で、巻端部の舌状部押付けは広幅ローラと狭幅ローラを用いたという点でも同じである。評価は、図5に示す−10℃〜60℃の温度サイクルによる冷熱試験を5サイクル行い、各サイクル終了毎に電熱線の浮き上がり状態を目視観察し、5サイクル終了後にソケットを軸方向に切断し、切断面を写真撮影し電熱線周りの空隙の有無を目視観察した。表1に実験結果を示す。

Claims (5)
- プラスチック管が挿入される熱可塑性の樹脂管の内周面を切削しU字状凹溝を形成する工程と、凹溝の壁面を押圧し凹溝開口部の両側に舌状部を形成する工程と、凹溝に電熱線を装入する工程と、前記舌状部を押圧して電熱線を凹溝の奥に押付ける工程を有する電気融着継手の製造方法であって、
凹溝を、螺旋ピッチが小さい部分と大きい部分からなる螺旋形に形成し、凹溝の幅を、電熱線の直径と同じかわずかに狭い寸法に形成し、凹溝の深さを、電熱線の直径より深い寸法にして、螺旋ピッチが小さい凹溝部分を、螺旋ピッチが大きい凹溝部分よりも浅い寸法に形成することを特徴とする電気融着継手の製造方法。 - 凹溝の幅を、電熱線の直径の0.95〜1.00倍に形成し、凹溝の深さを、螺旋ピッチが小さい凹溝部分では電熱線の直径の1.05〜1.2倍、螺旋ピッチが大きい凹溝部分では電熱線の直径の1.4〜1.7倍に形成することを特徴とする請求項1記載の電気融着継手の製造方法。
- 舌状部の長さを、凹溝の幅の1/2以下に形成することを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の電気融着継手の製造方法。
- 請求項1ないし3のいずれかに示した工程を経て、電熱線の両端に通電用端子を取り付けて通電することにより、螺旋ピッチが小さい凹溝部分に装入した電熱線を、舌状部を含む樹脂を溶融して凹溝内に埋め込み、他方、螺旋ピッチが大きい凹溝部分に装入した電熱線は、押圧された舌状部で凹溝内に押し込まれた状態にすることを特徴とする電気融着継手の製造方法。
- 電熱線を凹溝内に埋め込む際、樹脂管の内部に外径がプラスチック管の外径と同一寸法の成形冶具を装入し、冷却後の樹脂管の内径が所定寸法になるようにすることを特徴とする請求項4記載の電気融着継手の製造方法
