Description
1.発明の分野
本発明は、潤滑性(lubricious)組成物に関する。
2.発明の分野
本発明は、潤滑性組成物に関する。より特には、本発明は、潤滑性組成物から作製される、タンポンアプリケーターのような成形品に関する。
消費者は、柔らかで、挿入感がよく、および種々様々な環境条件下で綿撒糸を取り出すことが容易であるタンポンアプリケーターに関心がある。さらに、ある消費者等は、膣の乾燥に悩み、特に滑らかで保湿性のあるものを望んでいる。
本開示は、ポリマーおよび1種以上の潤滑剤を含む潤滑性ポリマー組成物を提供する。
本発明は、潤滑性組成物を提供する。本明細書中において定義される潤滑性とは、スムースで、よく滑る性質を有することを意味する。潤滑性組成物は、ポリマーおよび1種以上の潤滑剤の組合せを含む、機能強化されたポリマー化合物または組成物である。この潤滑性組成物から形成される物品は、改善された性質、例えば柔らかさ、柔軟性および潤滑性を、使用者に対して示す。この機能強化されたポリマー組成物は、種々の物品、例えば哺乳瓶、ナーサーボトルおよびホルダ、おしゃぶり、歯ブラシおよび容器を形成するのに用いることができることが想定される一方で、好ましい用途は生理用品である。1つの実施形態において、機能強化されたポリマー組成物を、タンポンアプリケーターの1つ以上の構成要素を形成するのに用いる。
まず、異なるスリップ剤および樹脂を、LDPEに加える必要がある。これらの成分の殆どは、食品接触についてFDAにより認可されている。典型的には、これらの成分を、顔料、鉱物、および多少のLDPEの混合物と共に混合して、特有の着色剤/スリップ剤濃縮物を製造する。この濃縮物(マスターバッチ)およびさらなるLDPEの双方を別個に、射出成形機に同時に加えた。いくつかの場合には、カラー濃縮物は除くのに対し、他においては、3つの供給物:潤滑剤、樹脂、または供給されるマスターバッチ;カラー濃縮物;およびLDPEを加えた。
種々の試験を行い、これらの新規の滑りやすいタンポン外筒の利点を示す。一般的に、試験結果を、第1の試験および第2の試験の双方について示す。
タンポンの放出力を、特殊試験により研究室において測定した。組み立てたタンポンを、つまみの両側で2つの指を用いて掴んだ。綿撒糸を取り出すために高精度の秤量スケールに及ぼされたオンスでの力を測定した。データをコンピュータを用いて、集計表に記録する。Platex(登録商標)Gentle Glide(登録商標)コントロールタンポンサンプルも試験した。表3には、放出力試験についてのいくつかの鍵となる結果を提供する。
タンポンの環境安定性は非常に重要である。しばしば、消費者はタンポンを、温度が高く、湿気の高い環境に貯蔵する。綿撒糸はセルロース繊維から作られるため、高温および高い湿度においては、このような綿撒糸は含水量が増加し、外筒の側面に対して及ぼされる幾分かの圧力を生じ、取り出しを困難にする。
タンポンアプリケーター外筒サンプルを、摩擦係数(CoF)について試験した。CoFを、タンポンに適合するように、ASTM D1894(引っ張りタイプ)摩擦係数試験のわずかな変形を用いて測定した。というのは、この試験はしばしばフィルムについて用いられるためである。2台の異なるインストロン(Instron)4411(Instron, Canton, MA)機械を用い、1台は最初の試験のために、他方は第2の試験のために用いた。モダンインストロンマシン(Instron machine)を備えた Series IX Windows(登録商標)ソフトウエアは、試験方法をプログラム化することを可能にし、指示をデータベースにおいて実行し続けた。
Syngyna吸収性は、タンポンの非常に重要な特徴である。Syngyna吸収性はアメリカ合衆国政府、特にFDAにより用いられ、タンポンを規制し、消費者による使用についてのその安全性を保証するのに役立つ。Syngyna吸収性は、標準試験(FDA Federal Register, 21 CFR Ch. 1 (4/1/95 edition), paragraph 801.430, “User Labeling for Menstrual Tampons”を参照)である。優れた(Super)吸収性のタンポンは、この試験により、9〜12グラムの吸収された流体の範囲内に調整される一方、標準(Regular)の吸収性のタンポンは、6〜9グラムの吸収された流体の範囲内にある必要がある。90%のタンポンが、90%の時間この範囲内にある必要がある。
表面粗さを、Pocket Surf II Profilometer(Mahr Federal, available from Penn Tool, NJ)を用いて評価した。この手持ちサイズの装置は、固体に接触するためのダイアモンド針を有する。固体の表面に渡って針を走らせることで、ミクロにおける平均表面粗さの二乗平均平方根変化のデジタル読み出しを提供する。
Claims (15)
- ポリマー組成物の総重量の95重量%〜99.5重量%の量で存在している低密度ポリエチレンおよび高密度ポリエチレンの組み合わせ
エルカ酸アミド、ステアリルエルカ酸アミド、ビス−エルカ酸アミドおよびこれらのいずれもの組み合わせからなる群から選択される潤滑剤、
を含む、潤滑性ポリマー組成物から形成される外筒および該外筒を有するプランジャーを含むタンポンアプリケーター。 - プレジットをさらに含み、前記外筒から放出されるプレジットに対して、力が595.3グラム(21オンス)未満である、請求項1に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記外筒とそこに置かれたプレジットが、前記プレジットと前記潤滑剤を含まない組成物から形成された外筒との間の正規化された摩擦係数よりも5%〜20%小さい正規化されたその間の摩擦係数を有する請求項1に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記組成物が、熱可塑性エラストマー、可塑剤、相溶化剤/流れ調整剤、顔料、酸化防止剤、帯電防止剤、充填剤、強化剤、染料、鉱物、真珠光沢剤、表面活性剤、光/UV安定剤、熱安定剤、耐衝撃性改良剤、加工助剤、増量剤、難燃剤、殺生剤、殺菌剤、オゾン劣化防止剤、発泡剤、起泡剤、およびこれらのいずれもの組み合わせから成る群から選択される1種以上の成分をさらに含む請求項3に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記1種以上の成分が、二酸化チタン、マイカ、着色剤、カーボンブラック、フタル酸エステル、キナクリドンレッド、フタロ(GS)ブルーフタル酸エステル、クロム酸鉛、無機アルミノケイ酸塩、スルホセレン化カドミウム、硫化カドミウム、硫酸バリウムおよびこれらのいずれもの組み合わせから成る群から選択される1種以上の顔料および真珠光
沢剤である請求項4に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。 - 前記1種以上の顔料および真珠光沢剤が、前記ポリマー組成物の総重量に基づいて、0.5重量%〜1.2重量%の量で存在している請求項4に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記組成物が、1種以上の帯電防止剤をさらに含む請求項3に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記組成物が帯電防止剤を含まない請求項3に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 98重量%〜99重量%のLDPE、0.6重量%のマイカ、0.5重量%の二酸化チタン、0.25重量%のエルカ酸アミド、および0.01重量%未満の着色剤を含むポリマー組成物から形成されるタンポンアプリケーター外筒。
- 92重量%〜93重量%のHDPE、5重量%のLDPE、0.9重量%のマイカ、0.75重量%の二酸化チタン、0.37重量%のエルカ酸アミド、および0.01重量%未満の着色剤を含むポリマー組成物から形成されるタンポンアプリケータープランジャー。
- 前記潤滑剤が、前記ポリマー組成物の総重量に基づいて、0.001重量%〜40重量%の量で存在している請求項1に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記潤滑剤が、前記ポリマー組成物の総重量に基づいて、0.01重量%〜20重量%の量で存在している請求項1に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記潤滑剤が、前記ポリマー組成物の総重量に基づいて、0.1重量%〜1重量%の量で存在している請求項1に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記潤滑剤が、前記ポリマー組成物の総重量に基づいて、0.12重量%〜0.55重量%の量で存在している請求項1に記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
- 前記潤滑剤が、エルカ酸アミドである、請求項1または14いずれか一項記載のタンポンアプリケーター。
