Claims (17)
- 炭化珪素SiC、金属又は両者の化合物から成る基質に埋込まれた核***性被覆粒子から形成された原子炉用の単体燃料要素(10)であり、複数の空間(14,20)によって隔てられ、接合部(16a,16b)によって相互に結合された複数の平行なプレート(12)を具備し、前記プレート(12)及び前記接合部(16a、16b)は、前記基質、及び前記基質内に分散された核***性被覆粒子から構成され、前記基質は、核***性及び核***性アイソトープに転換可能な重い核と、前記空間(14,20,28)を循環する水とに対して不活性であることを特徴とする燃料要素。
- 前記燃料要素(10)の包絡面はほぼ平行6面体である請求項1に記載の燃料要素。
- 前記プレート(12)は、前記複数の空間に隣接したほぼ平面を有する請求項1及び2のいずれかに記載の燃料要素。
- 前記プレート(12)は、前記複数の空間に隣接したほぼ垂直な平面を有し、前記複数の空間(14,20,28)の少なくとも1つが、垂直移動する効力を受けた原子炉を制御及び/又は停止させるように構成された制御装置(22,30,32)を収容できる請求項1ないし3のいずれか1つに記載の燃料要素。
- 接合部(16a,16b)と平行なプレート(12)は前記水が循環することができる窓(26)を形成するために所定の深さで穿孔される請求項4に記載の燃料要素。
- 制御装置(22)が配置される前記空間(20)の水平断面は十字形状であって、該空間は該燃料要素(10)を接合部のいくつか(16a)によって相互に結合された複数のプレート(12)を収容する4つの副集合体(18)に分割し、前記接合部以外の接合部(16b)は副集合体(18)を相互に結合する請求項4及び5のいずれかに記載の燃料要素。
- 隣接する副集合体(18)のプレート(12)は相互に垂直である請求項6に記載の燃料要素。
- 4つの副集合体(18)のプレート(12)は全て相互に平行である請求項6に記載の燃料要素。
- 第1番目のプレート形状の制御装置(30)を挿入できる第1番目の空間(28)は燃料要素(10)の中央部で形成され、第2番目の櫛形の制御装置(32)を設置できる前記要素の外周部で開口した連続した第2番目の空間(14)は前記中央部の少なくとも一方の側方に形成される請求項4及び5のいずれかに記載の燃料要素。
- 前記プレート(12)の厚みと前記空間(14)の幅の比率によって、前記燃料要素(10)が前記水について高速スペクトルで動作させる請求項1ないし9のいずれか1つに記載の燃料要素。
- 前記プレートの厚みと前記空間の幅の比率によって、前記燃料要素が前記水について熱又は熱外スペクトルで動作させる請求項1ないし9のいずれかに記載の燃料要素。
- 前記水に対する保護用の金属管内に配置される、請求項1ないし11のいずれか1つに記載の燃料要素。
- 前記核***性被覆粒子はウランとプルトニウムによって形成される群から選択される核***体の原子核を含む請求項1ないし12のいずれかに記載の燃料要素。
- 前記核***性被覆粒子はトリウム原子核も含む請求項13に記載の燃料要素。
- 請求項10に記載の複数の燃料要素(10)を収容し、高速中性子スペクトルで動作する炉心を具備した沸騰水型原子炉。
- 被覆粒子はプルトニウム原子核を含む請求項15に記載の沸騰水型原子炉。
- 炉心内の水の自然対流で運転を行う請求項15または16に記載の沸騰水型原子炉。
