Description
The present invention relates to an illumination LED drive circuit that rectifies an AC voltage from a commercial AC power supply and supplies the rectified AC voltage as a desired DC voltage to an illumination LED.
Advances in semiconductor technology have led to improvements in light emission efficiency and color rendering of LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), which have been adopted for illumination instead of incandescent and fluorescent lamps. Such an LED drive circuit for illumination needs to apply a DC voltage corresponding to the number of LEDs connected in series. For this reason, a DC / DC converter is generally applied. Moreover, since the drive circuit of LED uses the electric power from a commercial alternating current power supply, and does not have a pure resistance characteristic, it is desired to improve the power factor with respect to the commercial alternating current power supply side. Therefore, generally, a drive circuit comprising a combination of a rectifier circuit, a power factor correction circuit, and a DC / DC converter is applied. For example, as shown in FIG. 8, the AC voltage of the commercial
This power
In addition, as described above, there are various configurations including a power factor improving circuit that converts an AC voltage from a commercial AC power source into a desired DC voltage and controls so as to avoid a decrease in power factor with respect to the commercial AC power source side. Proposed. For example, a full-wave rectified voltage is applied to a choke coil via a first switching transistor, applied to a capacitor via a second switching transistor in the next stage, and a current waveform flowing by the full-wave rectified voltage is converted to a full-wave rectifier. A configuration has been proposed in which the power factor is improved by controlling the on / off ratio of the first switching transistor to be a current waveform synchronized with the commercial AC voltage waveform as compared with the voltage waveform. (For example, refer to Patent Document 1). Various lighting control circuits for applying LEDs for illumination have already been proposed. The lighting control of such LEDs and the dimming by controlling the voltage applied to the LEDs. Has also been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
In order for an LED to emit light for illumination, it is necessary to apply a DC voltage of a predetermined voltage, and since the applied voltage to one LED is a relatively low voltage of about several volts, normally a plurality of LEDs are applied. For example, a direct current voltage obtained by rectifying 100 V of a commercial AC power supply is used as a voltage corresponding to the number of LEDs connected in series, and a driving circuit that can supply a predetermined current is used. As shown in FIG. 8, the
The present invention aims to improve the above-mentioned conventional problems, outputs a desired DC voltage to be applied to an illumination LED, enables power factor improvement, and without increasing the cost. It is an object of the present invention to provide a lighting LED drive circuit that can improve efficiency.

Further, it is possible to provide a configuration in which a secondary winding is provided in the reactor, and an induced voltage of the secondary winding is rectified by a diode and supplied as operating power of the control circuit. The reactor includes a primary winding and a secondary winding, the first transistor is connected in series to the primary winding, and a series circuit of the second transistor and the capacitor is connected to the secondary winding. Can be provided.
With the first transistor and the second transistor, it is possible to realize the function of the DC / DC converter and the function of improving the power factor. The predetermined LED voltage is supplied to the lighting LED to emit light, and commercial use is possible. There is an advantage that it is possible to improve the power factor when forming a DC voltage using an AC power supply as a power source, and to reduce the switching loss of the first transistor and the second transistor.

The first and second transistors Q1 and Q2 (hereinafter, when not confused, “first” and “second” are omitted) indicate a configuration including a parasitic diode, and capacitors C2 and C3 are respectively connected in parallel. Connecting. The
The AC voltage of the commercial AC power source 1 such as 100V is rectified by the full-
FIG. 2 shows an outline of the control operation. Q1 and Q2 indicate the on / off timings of the transistors Q1 and Q2. L1 indicates a current flowing through the reactor L1 having the same sign ( flowing through the reactor L1 in FIG. 1) Current IL) , I1 is a current flowing through the transistor Q1, V1 is an applied voltage between both terminals of the transistor Q1, I2 is a current flowing through the transistor Q2, and V2 is an applied voltage between both terminals of the transistor Q2. Period for one of the transistors Q1 and on (ON) is an off-the other transistor Q2, on the contrary, the period of the other transistor Q2 turned on (ON) is one of the transistors Q1 is turned off, and on the other hand DOO as the transistors Q1, Q2 simultaneous oN state of the other does not occur, is provided with both simultaneously period turned off. When the transistor Q1 is turned on by the
By turning off the transistor Q1, the current IL due to the energy stored in the reactor L1 flows to the capacitor C1 and the LED 7 side via the parasitic diode of the transistor Q2. Then, the transistor Q2 is turned on. At this time, the voltage across the capacitor C3 connected in parallel with the parasitic diode of the transistor Q2 is approximately 0V because the forward voltage drop of the parasitic diode is negligible. Thus, transistor Q2 is zero voltage turned on. When the transistor Q2 is turned on, the current I2 flowing through the transistor Q2 due to the stored energy of the reactor L1 gradually decreases from the peak point. By continuing the transistor Q2, the direction in which the current I2 flows is reversed and becomes a certain value. The transistor Q2 is turned off. When the transistor Q2 is turned off, the voltage across the capacitor C3 connected in parallel to the transistor Q2 is 0 V, as in the case of the transistor Q1 in the on state described above. It becomes. In other words, both the transistors Q1 and Q2 can be set to zero voltage turn-on and zero voltage turn-off, and the loss of on / off control of the transistors Q1 and Q2 can be reduced.
FIG. 3 shows the current (A) flowing through the reactor L1 and the input current (B) from the commercial AC power source for the half-wave period of the input voltage from the commercial AC power source, and flows during the ON period of the transistor Q1. The current becomes a value substantially proportional to the instantaneous value of the applied voltage waveform. Accordingly, the envelope connecting the maximum value of the input current has a sine wave shape approximating the input voltage waveform. That is, for example, the power factor correction converter shown in FIG.

In the explanatory diagram of the operation waveform shown in FIG. 5, (a) shows an example of the ramp signal a1 of the output of the
ランプ信号発生部14からのランプ信号a1(基準値から一定の立上り特性で上昇し、リセットにより基準値に急速低下する鋸歯状波形の信号)と、LED7(図1参照)に流れる電流の検出値を電流電圧変換器15により電圧に変換した信号a2とを比較器13により比較する。
The operation of the control circuit shown in FIG. 4 will be described with reference to FIG. The ramp signal a1 from the ramp signal generator 14 (a sawtooth waveform signal that rises from the reference value with a constant rising characteristic and rapidly decreases to the reference value upon resetting), and the detected value of the current flowing through the LED 7 (see FIG. 1) Is compared with a signal a2 obtained by converting the voltage into a voltage by the current-
Further, the
