以上、本発明の実施の形態について説明したが、本発明は上述の実施の形態に限定されるものではない。本発明は、その趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で、上述の実施の形態ものから種々変形して実施することができる。例えば、図6に示すように、エタノール濃度センサ26はメイン流路6の途中に搭載することも可能である。また、図6では燃料タンク2の外部にエタノール濃度センサ26を配置しているが、燃料タンク2の内部にエタノール濃度センサ26を配置することもできる。

Claims (4)
- 内燃機関に使用される燃料のアルコール濃度を計測するためのアルコール濃度センサの合理性を診断する装置であって、
燃料タンク内の燃料の残量と燃料のアルコール濃度とに応じて出力値が決まる静電容量式の燃料残量センサと、
前記アルコール濃度センサのセンサ出力値によって前記燃料残量センサのセンサ出力値を補正するセンサ出力値補正手段と、
前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値の精度を検証することによって前記アルコール濃度センサの合理性が保たれているかどうか判定する合理性判定手段と、
を備えることを特徴とするアルコール濃度センサの合理性診断装置。 - 前記合理性判定手段は、前記燃料タンクの状態が燃料残量について既に知られている特定の状態になった場合、前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値をもとに計算される燃料残量と、前記特定の状態における既知の燃料残量とを比較することによって、前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値の精度を検証することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアルコール濃度センサの合理性診断装置。
- 前記合理性判定手段は、前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値をもとに計算される燃料残量と、センサ出力値がアルコール濃度に依存しない別の燃料残量センサによって計測された燃料残量とを比較することによって、前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値の精度を検証することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアルコール濃度センサの合理性診断装置。
- 前記合理性判定手段は、前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値をもとに計算される所定期間内での燃料残量の変化量と、インジェクタによる燃料噴射量から計算される前記所定期間内での燃料消費量とを比較することによって、前記燃料残量センサの補正されたセンサ出力値の精度を検証することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアルコール濃度センサの合理性診断装置。
