この発明の実施形態に係る樹脂製部材の接合方法について、図1及び図2を参照して説明する。図1及び図2は、この発明の実施形態に係る樹脂製部材の接合方法を説明するための図であり、樹脂製部材の断面図である。
(レーザ溶着)
レーザ照射によって樹脂製部材1と樹脂製部材2を接合する場合、図1(a)に示すように、樹脂製部材1の表面に光吸収剤4を塗布する。例えば、ディスペンサーやスタンプ方式によって、樹脂製部材1の表面に光吸収剤4を塗布する。なお、光吸収剤としては、入射するレーザ光に対して光吸収性を有するものである。ここでいう光吸収性とは、レーザ光の波長に対して50%乃至95%の吸収を有するものである。この実施形態に係る光吸収剤4には、レーザ光の波長によって、赤外線吸収剤又は紫外線吸収剤が用いられる。
(変形例)
次に、上記実施形態に係る樹脂製部材の接合方法の変形例について、図3を参照して説明する。図3は、変形例に係る樹脂製部材の接合方法を説明するための図であり、樹脂製部材の断面図である。上述した実施形態では、表面が平坦な樹脂製部材同士を接合した。表面に微細な形状を有する樹脂製部材同士を接合しても良い。この変形例では、表面に溝が形成された樹脂製部材と、平板状の樹脂製部材とを接合する。
(実施例)
次に、具体的な実施例について説明する。
(樹脂製部材1、2)
射出成形機で透明樹脂材料の環状ポリオレフィン樹脂(日本ゼオン社製、ゼオノア)を成形し、外形寸法が50mm×50mm×1mmの板状部材を作製した。この板状部材が、上記実施形態に係る樹脂製部材1と樹脂製部材2に相当する。
(基台3、押圧部材6)
樹脂製部材1を載置する基台3には、表面粗さRaが10nmの光学鏡面をなすガラス基板を用いた。ガラス材料として、BK7を用いた。この基台3の透過率は、92%である。
(レーザ溶着による接合)
そして、樹脂製部材1をガラス基板からなる基台3に載置し、樹脂製部材1の表面に光吸収剤4を塗布した。光吸収剤4には、赤外線吸収剤としてGENTEX社製のClearweldを用いた。その後、光吸収剤4を間にして樹脂製部材1に樹脂製部材2を重ねた。
(評価)
樹脂製部材1の表面(基台3と接触する面)が溶融していないことが確認できた。また、樹脂製部材2の表面(押圧部材6と接触する面)が溶融していないことが確認できた。このように、樹脂製部材1の表面(基台3と接触する面)での樹脂の溶融を回避し、さらに、樹脂製部材2の表面(押圧部材6と接触する面)での樹脂の溶融を回避して、樹脂製部材1と樹脂製部材2とで構成される部品の外観品質を向上させることができた。
Claims (7)
- 光学的検出のために光が照射される第1及び第2の樹脂製部材を接合する樹脂製部材の接合方法であって、
入射するレーザ光に対して光透過性を有する前記第1の樹脂製部材を、前記第1の樹脂製部材と接触する面の表面粗さRaが、5nm以上100nm以下の範囲に形成された光学鏡面をなす基台の上に載置し、
前記第1の樹脂製部材の前記基台とは反対の面に、入射光に対して光吸収性を有する光吸収剤を介して光透過性を有する前記第2の樹脂製部材を重ね、前記第1の樹脂製部材と前記第2の樹脂製部材を押圧した状態で、前記第2の樹脂製部材側の外部から前記光吸収剤を介してレーザ光を照射することで、前記第1の樹脂製部材と前記第2の樹脂製部材の接合する面を溶融させて前記第1の樹脂製部材と前記第2の樹脂製部材とを接合することを特徴とする樹脂製部材の接合方法。 - 前記第2の樹脂製部材の上に、前記第2の樹脂製部材と接触する面が光学鏡面をなす押圧部材を重ね、前記押圧部材と前記基台とによって前記第1の樹脂製部材と前記第2の樹脂製部材を挟んで前記第1の樹脂製部材と前記第2の樹脂製部材を押圧した状態で、レーザ光を照射することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の樹脂製部材の接合方法。
- 前記基台と前記押圧部材のうち少なくとも一方は入射するレーザ光に対して光透過性を有する光透過性部材で構成され、前記一方の光透過性部材を介してレーザ光を照射することを特徴とする請求の範囲第2項に記載の樹脂製部材の接合方法。
- 前記基台は、少なくとも前記第1の樹脂製部材と接触する面が入射するレーザ光に対して光透過性を有する光透過性部材で構成されていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項乃至第3項のいずれか1項に記載の樹脂製部材の接合方法。
- 前記光透過性部材は、ガラス、石英、又は透明樹脂であることを特徴とする請求の範囲第3項又は第4項のいずれかに記載の樹脂製部材の接合方法。
- 前記基台は、少なくとも前記第1の樹脂製部材と接触する面が金属で構成されていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項乃至第3項のいずれか1項に記載の樹脂製部材の接合方法。
- 前記第1の樹脂製部材と前記第2の樹脂製部材のうち少なくとも一方の樹脂製部材には、前記接合する表面に溝が形成されていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項乃至第6項のいずれか1項に記載の樹脂製部材の接合方法。
