Description
The present invention relates to an optical transmission system, upon particularly high density mounting on an electric circuit board, with avoiding overlapping of the fiber, improve the workability at the time of fiber connector component removably, an optical transmission system which aimed at reduction of the fiber bending loss It is to provide.
Recently, a laser light emitting element is mounted on an electric circuit board, and the emitted optical signal is propagated using an optical waveguide embedded in the circuit board, and is received by, for example, a photodiode or the like mounted on the circuit board. A so-called electro-optical fusion type signal transmission method in which light is received by an element has become widespread.
Such fusion of an electric circuit and an optical transmission line is necessary for high-speed operation of the electric circuit, and in particular, has increased with the use of a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL).
Since the optical waveguide embedded in the electric circuit board guides light in a direction parallel to the electric circuit board, for example, in order to couple the VCSEL laser light into these optical waveguides, an optical waveguide of 90 degrees is usually used. Wave direction conversion is required.
Such a fiber bent connector part bent at 90 degrees has been proposed by the present applicant in the following
However, when such a 90-degree conversion connector component in the optical waveguide direction is used, the mountability of the mounting substrate is good, but there is a problem that high-density mounting of the substrate is difficult.
In recent years, in particular, electrical circuit boards have become smaller, and there has been a demand for fiber bent connector parts that can improve workability even in narrow spaces when building optical interconnections between boards and optical transmission systems. The above 90-degree conversion connector part does not meet the demand.
That is, as shown in FIG. 5, when a 90 ° fiber bent connector part is used, the mounting interval D between adjacent connector parts cannot be shortened, and the mounting density is limited.
Even if the mounting distance D is forcibly shortened, the fiber must be bent to avoid overlapping of the fibers. However, in consideration of the rigidity and bending loss of the fiber, the allowable bending radius is limited, and the mounting density I couldn't expect improvement.
By the way, there is an idea of using a straight connector part without bending (a connector part bent by 180 degrees).
Certainly, the linear connector component has the advantages that the mounting density on the board can be increased and the bending loss is also small. However, on the other hand, the space for storing the mounting board becomes very large, which is not realistic.
As described above, the 90 ° fiber bent connector component has the advantage that the space for housing the mounting substrate can be reduced, but has the disadvantage that the mounting density is limited.
On the other hand, the 180 ° fiber bent connector part has the advantage that the mounting density can be increased, but has the disadvantage that the storage space increases.
In addition, it is desired that the above-described method for manufacturing a fiber bent connector part can be applied not only to a single mode optical waveguide but also to a large-diameter multimode optical waveguide by adopting a small and simple structure.
The present invention is to solve the above problems, there is provided an optical transmission system that can be increased mounting density of the connector parts.
An optical transmission system according to a first aspect of the present invention is an optical transmission system in which optical connector parts including a plurality of optical fibers and a connector ferrule are arranged in a line on a circuit board,
The connector ferrule has a first end surface including an optical connection end surface with the circuit board, an inclined surface facing the optical connection end surface, and a second end surface adjacent to the top side of the inclined surface,
The base of the optical fiber extending from the second end surface is above the bottom of the inclined surface with respect to the optical connection end surface;
In the optical transmission system , at least the optical fibers of the optical connector parts are arranged in a line on the circuit board so as to be arranged on the inclined surface of the adjacent optical connector parts .
Next, the optical transmission system according to the second aspect of the present invention is characterized in that the angle of the bent portion is 120 to 150 degrees.
The optical transmission system of the third aspect of the present invention then, the plurality of fibers has a bent portion bent a desired portion curve shape,
The surface portion of the front Symbol bends, small material the refractive index of light than the surface portion of the bending portion, characterized in that it is filled.
When such a fiber bent connector component is used, it is possible to increase the mounting density of the mounting board and to obtain an effect that the board can be stored well.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 to be described later, a fiber bent connector part having a bending angle of 120 degrees is mounted. Since the fiber can be released obliquely upward, high-density mounting is possible within a range not overlapping these fibers. it can.
Even if fiber bent connector parts of such an angle are used, the upper storage space can be kept smaller than when 180 degree fiber bent connector parts are used, so there is no practically high density. Implementation can be realized.
Therefore, the effect excellent in the optical transmission line interconnection between mounting substrates is exhibited.
In addition, there is an effect that bending loss can be reduced as compared with the case where a 90 ° fiber bent connector part is used.
Furthermore, since the fiber connected to the connector component extends obliquely upward in the optical transmission system of the present invention, handling at the time of attachment / detachment is easy, and workability can be improved during system construction.
Therefore, work in a narrow space can be performed efficiently.
Since the fiber bent connector part of the present invention is manufactured by the above-described manufacturing method, the structure is simple, the number of parts is small, and there is no need to align the optical fibers at the part to be bent, and the
