Description
The present invention relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine, and more particularly, to a control device for an internal combustion engine that determines a future combustion state of the internal combustion engine using rules or the like corresponding to the combustion state of the internal combustion engine.
Conventionally, for example,
By the way, it is conceivable that the mass balance of each gas component changes depending on whether the combustion state of the internal combustion engine is stable or unstable. That is, for example, if the combustion is stable, the chemical reaction of each gas component occurs as theoretically, and conversely, if the combustion is unstable, only a specific gas component is consumed and many other gas components remain. The material balance may not occur as expected. In such a case, it is desirable to prepare an estimation model corresponding to each combustion state. However, the estimation model of

According to the first invention, the future crank angular velocity can be estimated from the two rules, the first rule corresponding to the stable combustion state and the second rule corresponding to the unstable combustion state. These two rules are based on two probability distributions followed by past data composed of EGR rate, air-fuel ratio and crank angular velocity, ie, a first probability distribution corresponding to the combustion stable state and a second probability distribution corresponding to the combustion unstable state. These past data are classified into a probability distribution and specified based on a combustion stable cluster and a combustion unstable cluster which are data groups after the classification. Therefore, according to the first invention, the future crank angular speed can be estimated with the two rules specified as described above, and therefore, the future crank angular speed can be more accurately compared with the case of estimating using a single model. Can be estimated.
Further, according to the first aspect of the present invention, data including the current values of the exhaust gas recirculation rate, air-fuel ratio, and crank angular velocity data is burned according to boundary conditions established at the boundary between the stable combustion state and the unstable combustion state. It can be estimated whether it is classified into a stable state or an unstable combustion state. Then, by combining the classification based on the boundary condition and the two rules described above, it is possible to switch the rule for estimating the future crank angular speed depending on which state the data including the current value is in. Become. Therefore, according to the first aspect, it is possible to estimate in which state the data including the current value is, and to estimate the future crank angular velocity at that time with high accuracy.
In addition , according to the first aspect of the present invention, the future combustion state of the internal combustion engine can be determined based on the estimation result by the segment estimation means and the future crank angular speed by the crank angular speed estimation means. Therefore, it is possible to determine the future combustion state of the internal combustion engine using these two estimation results as a determination index for combustion determination.
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the fluctuation amount calculated based on the estimated future crank angular velocity is compared with the fluctuation amount based on the actual crank angular velocity, and the future combustion state is determined using these deviations as a determination index for combustion determination. be able to.
According to the third invention, it is possible to calculate a distance indicating how far the data including the current value is away from the boundary between the stable combustion state and the unstable combustion state. Then, the credibility of the current value data used when determining the combustion state can be evaluated by using this distance as a determination index. By doing so, the validity of the determination result of the future combustion state can be evaluated.

The identification is performed by using the past actual air-fuel ratio, EGR rate, and crank angular velocity as past time-series data.

In the above equations (3) and (4), θ 1 and θ 2 are unknown parameters and are given by the following equations (6) and (7).

In the classification, first, an observation data vector z k = (x T (k) ω T (k)) T is defined. Then, it is assumed that N pieces of observation data z 1 ,..., Z N of the observation data vector z k follow a mixed normal distribution composed of normal distributions corresponding to the combustion stable state and the combustion unstable state.
すなわち、α1p1(zk;Φ)≧α2p2(zk;Φ)のデータを燃焼安定状態クラスタC1に、α1p1(zk;Φ)<α2p2(zk;Φ)のデータを燃焼不安定状態クラスタC2に分類する。 Subsequently, the observed data is classified using the obtained parameter Φ. Here, the assigned probability that the observation data belongs to the combustion stable state cluster C 1 is α 1 p 1 (z k ; Φ), and the belonging probability that belongs to the combustion unstable state cluster C 2 is α 2 p 2 (z k ; Φ). The classification is performed into clusters corresponding to partial distributions having higher attribution probabilities. That is, data of α 1 p 1 (z k ; Φ) ≧ α 2 p 2 (z k ; Φ) is stored in the combustion stable state cluster C 1 and α 1 p 1 (z k ; Φ) <α 2 p 2 ( The data of z k ; Φ) is classified into the combustion unstable cluster C 2 . By doing so, the times k = 1, 2,..., N corresponding to the observation data can be classified into the respective clusters.
(Separated hyperplane estimation unit 14)
The separation
A support vector machine is an algorithm that can determine which of two classes a given data belongs to, and that is true when a correct class exists for all sample data (linear separation is possible). This is a method of adjusting the parameters a and b of the plane. However, there is no single hyperplane that realizes such linear separation. Therefore, the distance from the hyperplane to each class is defined as a margin (1 / || a ||), and the hyperplane parameters a and b are determined so as to maximize this margin.
The system
As described above, the
x (k + 1) = [ω (k) ... ω (k-n + 1) λ (k) ... λ (k-m + 1) e (k) ... e (k-l +1)] T ... (18)
Will be given by.
As described above, the estimated value ω ^ (k + 1) of the crank angular speed at time k + 1 is assigned to the air / fuel ratio, EGR rate and crank angular speed data history up to time k-1, and the current crank angular speed data. Can be done each time. Therefore, there is an effect that the degree of freedom of model identification is high.

The crank angular
Specifically, first, the parameters a and b estimated from the data history up to time k-1, and the regression vector x (k +) generated by adding the data ω (k) of the crank angular velocity at time k to this data history. From a), a T x (k + 1) + b is calculated. If a T x (k + 1) + b ≧ 0, the crank angular

In (i) above, it is determined whether the combustion state prediction flag i ^ (k + 1) estimated by the crank angular
In (ii) above, the deviation Δω ^ −Δω between the estimated crank angular speed fluctuation amount calculated by the crank angular speed fluctuation
In the above (iii), the distance d k from the separation hyperplane is compared with a predetermined set value (threshold value). This threshold value can be freely set according to the required degree of determination accuracy of the combustion state. And if distance dk is less than a threshold value, possibility that the reliability of the data used by said (i) and (ii) is low is recognized. The
The abnormality determination is made based on whether or not the abnormality signals (i) to (iii) are detected a set number of times within a predetermined determination time. Specifically, when the abnormality signals (i) to (iii) are detected, the counter value of the abnormality counter built in the
[Specific Processing in Embodiment 1]
Next, a combustion state determination routine executed by the ECU in the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. The routine in FIG. 2 is repeated for a determination time period for performing the combustion state determination, for example, every crank angular velocity acquisition timing from the crank position sensor.
First, in
そして、aTx(k+1)+b≧0であればi^(k+1)=1が、i^(k+1)<0であればi^(k+1)=0がECUにバッファリングされる(ステップ160)。
Subsequently, in step 140, a T x (k + 1) + b is calculated from the parameters a and b read in
Subsequently, in
Subsequent to step 220 or 260, in
Subsequently, in step 340, the distance d k from the separation hyperplane is calculated. As described above, the
Next, the combustion state determination subroutine executed in step 380 will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG. First, in
In
In
In
In
As described above, according to the routines shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the future crank angular speed can be sequentially estimated using the PWARX model identified based on the past time series data. Further, based on the estimated crank angular speed, the deviation Δω ^ −Δω between the estimated variation of the crank angular speed and the actually measured variation of the crank angular speed can also be sequentially estimated. Further, it is possible to predict the future combustion state by using the parameters of the separation hyperplane estimated when identifying the PWARX model, and at the same time, it is possible to calculate the distance d k from the separation hyperplane. By using these three diagnostic elements, the combustion state of the internal combustion engine can be determined with high accuracy.
