Description
The present invention relates to a fuel supply method for a gas turbine.
In recent years, diversification of fuel has been studied in gas turbines, and in addition to liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is the main fuel of gas turbines, hydrogen-containing fuels, such as off-gas generated in refineries and chemical plants, and iron manufacturing processes The use of off-gas, such as coke oven gas, generated as a main fuel for gas turbines is being studied. Since these off-gases are by-product fuels, they are inexpensive, and if they can be used in highly efficient gas turbines, there are advantages such as contributing to cost reduction of fuel costs.
On the other hand, an integrated power generation system (IGCC: Integrated Coal Gasification Combined Cycle) such as coal gasification and heavy oil gasification is a power generation system that effectively uses abundant resources, and has recently been put into practical use mainly in Europe and the United States. Yes. These fuels are gases containing a large amount of hydrogen.
In particular, hydrogen is a fuel that is easy to ignite in fuel pipes and exhaust ducts because hydrogen has a wider flammable range and a faster combustion speed than natural gas. For this reason, when using a hydrogen-containing fuel in a gas turbine, using another type of fuel such as liquid fuel or propane as a starting fuel, and performing an operation method of switching the fuel under a low load condition after starting the gas turbine, Ensures safety during ignition. A fuel system of a gas turbine using a hydrogen-containing fuel and a starting fuel is described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2007-33022.
As described in
Hydrogen is a fuel that easily ignites. For this reason, consideration must be given so that the hydrogen-containing fuel and oxygen do not coexist in the fuel gas pipe not only when the gas turbine is ignited but also when the fuel is switched. Thus, when using a hydrogen-containing fuel, the installation cost of the startup fuel system, the running cost of the startup fuel, and the like have occurred.
An object of the present invention is to start a gas turbine safely without using a starting fuel even when a hydrogen-containing fuel is used for the gas turbine.
The present invention supplies the hydrogen-containing fuel and the purge gas to the burner between the first step of supplying the purge gas into the piping of the fuel system and from the start of ignition of the gas turbine combustor to the completion of ignition. The hydrogen-containing fuel is obtained by gasifying oxygen with off-gas generated at a refinery or chemical plant, coke oven gas generated during an iron-making process, coal or heavy oil as a raw material. The purge gas is an inert gas such as nitrogen, steam or carbon dioxide obtained in a plant, and the system for supplying the purge gas is used for flow measurement. The purge system includes an orifice, a flow control valve, a shut-off valve, and a check valve for preventing a back flow of the hydrogen-containing fuel, and the purge system according to the number of fuel systems Characterized in that it connects.
According to the present invention, even when a hydrogen-containing fuel is used for a gas turbine, the gas turbine can be started safely without using a starting fuel.
Hereinafter, a gas turbine combustor which is an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows an outline of a gas turbine plant and a fuel supply system.
The gas turbine plant of the present embodiment includes an air compressor 2, a
The
The
The combustor includes a
The number of fuel systems varies depending on the combustion system of the
In the fuel system of FIG. 1, a
In FIG. 1, the installation position of the hydrogen
Next, based on FIG. 2, the fuel system used at the time of ignition, a burner structure, etc. are demonstrated. FIG. 2 shows a front view of the burner, a fuel system leading to the burner, and an adjacent combustor. The
Hereinafter, the operation method of this plant is demonstrated. At startup, the gas turbine is driven by external power such as a starter motor 8. By keeping the rotation speed of the gas turbine constant at a rotation speed corresponding to the ignition condition of the combustor, the
The combustor needs to reduce the oxygen concentration in the
After the pipe purge is completed, the
Next, changes in the flow rates of the hydrogen-containing fuel and the inert gas supplied to the

The states a to e in the figure are as follows:

When supplying fuel to the combustor under the ignition condition of the gas turbine, it is necessary to prevent the hydrogen-containing fuel and oxygen from coexisting in the fuel pipe and igniting. Therefore, it is necessary to purge the inside of the pipe before supplying the fuel. Therefore, supply of the
In the ignition of the combustor, the ratio between the flow rate of the
During the period from the start of ignition of the gas turbine combustor to the completion of ignition (section bc), the hydrogen-containing fuel and the inert gas whose flow rate is adjusted as described above are continuously supplied to the burner.
After completion of ignition of the combustor (timing c), it is possible to start the gas turbine speed-up operation by increasing the flow rate of the hydrogen-containing
FIG. 4 shows changes in hydrogen concentration (conceptual diagram) of the hydrogen-containing

Let Q inert be the volume flow of the inert gas mixed during ignition.
Whether the necessary amount of the inert gas to be mixed is supplied can be determined by the above equation (1). If the hydrogen concentration does not fall below the allowable hydrogen concentration in the equation (1), the flow rate of the inert gas is increased.
Next, the flow rate change (conceptual diagram) of the hydrogen-containing fuel and the inert gas in the outer

Next, an example in which the fuel supply method of the present invention is applied to a diffusion combustor is shown in FIG. In a diffusion combustor, fuel and air are supplied from separate flow paths in a burner. Therefore, there are many fuel and air stoichiometric mixing zones (ratio with the amount of air required to burn 1 m 3 of fuel) in the combustion chamber, and the NOx concentration increases as the local flame temperature rises. . For this reason, the combustor head is provided with a
In the figure, a
Since the fuel system is one system, an
Under the ignition conditions of the gas turbine, it is first necessary to reduce the oxygen concentration in the fuel pipe. Therefore, first, the
FIG. 7 shows the change (conceptual diagram) of the flow rates of the inert gas, hydrogen-containing fuel, and steam supplied to the combustor, and shows the change of the flow rate from ignition to the rated load. Since the combustor ignition operation is carried out after the completion of the purge of the fuel pipe, the states a to e in the figure have the same flow rate changes as in FIG. After completion of ignition of the combustor (state c), the supply of the
As described above, according to the present embodiment, ignition / start-up is performed with the start-up fuel, and it is not necessary to switch the fuel from the start-up fuel to the hydrogen-containing fuel under low load conditions. Therefore, the hydrogen-containing fuel can be used from the time of ignition, and the fuel switching operation becomes unnecessary during the load operation.
