Description
The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device such as a liquid crystal television receiver.
In general, a television receiver is often used as a main AV device in an AV system that includes a speaker and is connected to peripheral devices such as a recording / playback device. And panel type television receivers typified by liquid crystal television receivers are often equipped with loudspeakers with large output as their screens become larger. In addition, from the viewpoint of improving design, in a liquid crystal television receiver, a speaker may be disposed on the back side of the liquid crystal panel.
In addition, some recent liquid crystal television receivers constitute a backlight of a liquid crystal panel using LEDs that output light of three primary colors (RGB) with high purity. As a result, a high-quality liquid crystal television receiver with a wide color reproduction region can be realized.
On the other hand, in Patent Document 1, when a hollow resonance frequency in a viewing environment is detected and sound based on an input acoustic signal is output by a speaker, a signal component in a band of the hollow resonance frequency is filtered from the acoustic signal. It has been shown to improve sound quality by removing by.

As shown in FIG. 5, the light guide plates 42 are adjacent to each other except for the light emission surface facing the back side of the
However, in the liquid crystal television receiver, the light guide plate 42 that is cantilevered as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 has a relatively low resonance frequency, and the resonance frequency is in the frequency band of the output sound of the speaker. May overlap with a part of Therefore, when a loud sound is output from the speaker that includes a part of the resonance frequency band of the light guide plate 42, the light guide plate 42 resonates with the sound, and the display image of the
In order to solve the problem, as disclosed in Patent Document 1, when sound based on the input sound signal is output by a speaker, the sound signal has a resonance frequency band of the light guide plate 42 from the sound signal. It is conceivable to remove the signal component by a filter.
However, according to the technique disclosed in Patent Document 1, when the volume of the output sound is low, the sound quality deterioration due to the removal of some frequency components in the sound signal is particularly noticeable in hearing. was there.
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a cantilever-supported light guide plate whose resonance frequency overlaps a part of the frequency band of the output sound of the speaker. In the provided liquid crystal display device, performance deterioration due to resonance of the components can be prevented, and sound quality degradation that can be perceived by hearing when the volume of output sound is low can be avoided.
In order to achieve the above object, a liquid crystal display device according to the present invention illuminates a liquid crystal panel for displaying an image by guiding light from a light source to the liquid crystal panel through a cantilever-supported light guide plate. Back light, a speaker, and each component shown in the following (1) and (2).
(1) A notch filter that attenuates a signal component in a specific frequency band that is a resonance frequency band of the light guide plate in an acoustic signal input to the speaker.
(2) Filter cancellation means for canceling the filter processing for the acoustic signal by the notch filter when the volume level of the acoustic signal is less than a preset threshold level.
Here, the specific frequency band is a very narrow frequency band including a resonance frequency of the light guide plate included in the liquid crystal display device, and the resonance frequency of the light guide plate is a part of the frequency band of the output sound of the speaker. Duplicate.
In addition, the preset threshold level is a volume level that does not cause significant resonance in the light guide plate even if sound of that volume level is output from the speaker. .
The liquid crystal display device according to the present invention attenuates the signal component of the specific frequency band in the acoustic signal by a notch filter when the volume level of the acoustic signal input to the speaker is large. Accordingly, even when a loud sound is output from the speaker, it is possible to prevent the light guide plate from resonating with the sound and the performance of the liquid crystal display device such as image quality and sound quality from being deteriorated.
Further, the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention cancels the filter processing by the notch filter when the volume level of the acoustic signal input to the speaker is small enough not to cause resonance of the light guide plate. As a result, it is possible to avoid sound quality degradation that is perceived auditorily when the volume of the output sound is low.
Moreover, it is also conceivable that the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention further includes a component shown in the following (3).
(3) Attenuation gain adjusting means for changing the attenuation gain of the specific frequency band in the notch filter according to the volume level when the volume level of the acoustic signal is equal to or higher than the threshold level.
In general, the smaller the volume level of the acoustic signal, the smaller the absolute value of the attenuation gain for preventing the light guide plate from resonating with the output sound of the speaker. Therefore, the attenuation gain adjusting means decreases the absolute value of the attenuation gain of the specific frequency band as the volume level of the sound signal when the volume level of the acoustic signal is equal to or higher than the threshold level is decreased. As a result, it is possible to further reduce the sound quality degradation that is perceived by hearing when the volume of the output sound is relatively low.
By the way, when the attenuation gain of the specific frequency band changes suddenly, the sound quality that is perceived by auditory in the output sound of the speaker may change suddenly, which may make the person who hears the sound feel uncomfortable.
Therefore, it is conceivable that the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention further includes the components shown in the following (4), and the attenuation gain adjusting means executes the processing shown in the following (5).
(4) Signal delay means for temporarily storing the acoustic signal and delaying transmission of the acoustic signal to the speaker.
(5) The specific frequency in the acoustic signal delayed by the signal delay unit according to the volume level equal to or higher than the threshold level of the acoustic signal during the delay period by the signal delay unit Change the band attenuation gain gradually.
Thereby, since the attenuation gain of the specific frequency band gradually changes, it is possible to prevent a sudden change in sound quality that can be perceived by hearing.
In addition, the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention is considered to be a device including the components shown in the following (6) and (7), that is, a liquid crystal display device.
(6) A liquid crystal panel for displaying images.
(7) A backlight for illuminating the liquid crystal panel by guiding light from the light source to the liquid crystal panel side through a light guide plate supported in a cantilever manner.
In this case, the predetermined specific frequency band is a resonance frequency band of the light guide plate. For example, it is conceivable that the preset specific frequency band is a resonance frequency band of the light guide plate that is cantilevered.
As a result, it is possible to prevent display image deterioration due to vibration of the light guide plate, that is, display luminance fluctuation.
When the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes a light guide plate whose resonance frequency overlaps a part of the frequency band of the output sound of the speaker, the performance deterioration due to the resonance of the light guide plate can be prevented and the output sound can be reduced. It is possible to avoid sound quality degradation that is perceived by hearing when the volume is low.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the filter characteristics of the notch filter processing by the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
In this notch filter processing, the attenuation gain is set to 0 [dB] for the frequency band other than the specific frequency band fxw in the audible frequency band fw which is the frequency band of music, voice, etc. Ingredients are maintained as they are.
Even when a loud sound is output from the
In particular, when the
The specific frequency band fxw is a parameter set in the design stage or the shipment adjustment stage of the television receiver X, and is stored in the
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the relationship between the volume level VL of the acoustic signal and the attenuation gain Gp for the signal component of the center frequency fx in the specific frequency band fxw of the notch filter. Hereinafter, the attenuation gain Gp for the signal component of the frequency fx representing the specific frequency band fxw is referred to as the attenuation gain of the specific frequency band fxw.
As shown in FIG. 3, in the liquid crystal television receiver X, the

More specifically, when the volume level VL of the acoustic signal is equal to or higher than the threshold level VL0, the
By the way, in the notch filter processing, if the attenuation gain Gp in the specific frequency band changes suddenly, the sound quality that is perceived auditorily in the output sound of the

また, 時刻t(i+u),t(i+2u),t(i+3u),… VL(i+u),VL(i+2u),VL(i+3u),…とする。
前記音響処理回路23は,時刻t(i+u),t(i+2u),t(i+3u),…の各時点において,遅延処理後の音響信号Svoutの時刻t(i+u)〜t(i+2u),t(i+2u)〜t(i+3u),t(i+3u)〜t(i+4u),… VL(i+u),VL(i+2u),VL(i+3u),…
Hereinafter, an example of a method for detecting the volume level VL of the acoustic signal and a method for setting the attenuation gain Gp in the specific frequency band will be described with reference to the time chart shown in FIG. In the time chart shown in FIG. 4, the left direction toward the paper surface is the time axis direction.
Here, the delay time of the acoustic signal by the
The
図4に示される例では,前記音響処理回路23は,時刻t(i+u) ,t(i+2u),t(i+3u), …の各時点において,その時点で前記音響バッファ23aに一時蓄積されている最新の時間u分の音響信号Svoutの音量レベルの最大値を検出し,その最大値を遅延処理後の音響信号Svoutの時刻t(i+u)〜t(i+2u),t(i+2u)〜t(i+3u),t(i+3u)〜t(i+4u),… VL(i+u),VL(i+2u),VL(i+3u),… VL(i+u),VL(i+2u),VL(i+3u),…
In the example shown in FIG. 4, the
The volume level of the acoustic signal temporarily stored in the
It is also conceivable to substitute the volume adjustment gain set in the
さらに,前記音響処理回路23は,時刻t(i+u) ,t(i+2u),t(i+3u), … VL(i+u),VL(i+2u),VL(i+3u),… Gp(i+u),Gp(i+2u),Gp(i+3u),…
図4に示される例では,前記音響処理回路23が,時刻t(i+u) ,t(i+2u),t(i+3u), … Gp(i),Gp(i+u),Gp(i+2u),… Gp(i+u),Gp(i+2u),Gp(i+3u),…
Further, the
In the example shown in FIG. 4, the
It is also conceivable to limit the pace of change of the attenuation gain Gp within a predetermined range from the lower limit pace to the upper limit pace.
Thereby, since the attenuation gain Gp of the specific frequency band fxw gradually changes, it is possible to prevent a sudden change in sound quality that can be perceived by hearing.
