Description
The present invention relates to an image display device that displays a stereoscopic two-dimensional image by forming a real image of a two-dimensional image.
However, in the conventional stereoscopic two-dimensional image display system, since it is necessary to install a plurality of image display apparatuses, it is inevitable to increase the size of the entire system. In addition, for the viewer, out of the plurality of image display devices, devices other than the device displaying the real image toward the viewer have been an obstacle.
An object of the present invention is to provide an image display device that can realize real images simultaneously from a plurality of directions by a single device.
The image display device of the present invention is provided with display means for displaying a two-dimensional image on each of a plurality of divided screens obtained by dividing the image display surface into a plurality of divided screens, in front of the image display surface, and in its own front space. A single optical panel that forms a plurality of real images of two-dimensional images and a single optical panel that is placed either before or after the optical panel. The image lights of the two-dimensional images form different angles with respect to the optical panel. to image a real image Te, Bei example an optical path changing means for changing the optical path of at least one of the image light, the one of the plurality of the image light, the optical panel, a plurality of unit lenses, and in parallel to the optical axis of each other And a lens array unit arranged side by side in a plane .
According to this configuration, the image light of a plurality of two-dimensional images forms a real image at different angles with respect to the optical panel. Here, the angle of each image light with respect to the optical panel, that is, the angle formed by the image light whose optical path has been changed by the optical path changing means with respect to the optical panel or the image light emitted as it is from the optical path changing means, corresponds to the image light. This is a visible angle of the real image to the optical panel. For this reason, the visible angles of the plurality of real images with respect to the optical panel are different from each other. Therefore, the corresponding real images can be visually recognized from a plurality of directions with respect to the optical panel. That is, it is possible to realize real images simultaneously visible from a plurality of directions with a single device.
If the two-dimensional images displayed on each of the plurality of divided screens are made common, a common real image can be simultaneously viewed by a plurality of viewers, or common to viewers moving around the apparatus. It is possible to continue to see the real image. On the contrary, if a plurality of two-dimensional images are different from each other, a plurality of viewers can view different real images at the same time, or a viewer who moves around the apparatus can follow the movement. It is possible to visually recognize a changing real image. In this way, the present apparatus can be applied to various fields by changing the contents of a plurality of two-dimensional images displayed on the image display surface according to the purpose.
On the other hand, since the image forming means is composed of a lens array unit composed of a plurality of unit lenses, the working distance becomes long even when the size of the two-dimensional image is large, as in the case of a large single lens. Therefore, the entire apparatus can be reduced in size. The unit lens is preferably composed of a composite lens composed of a plurality of convex lens elements whose optical axes coincide with each other in order to form an erect image of a two-dimensional image.
In this case, it is preferable that the optical path changing means is disposed close to the front of the optical panel.
According to this configuration, the optical path changing means is disposed at a position separated from both the two-dimensional image (image display surface) that is the object of image formation and the image formation position. For this reason, the adverse effect on the imaging performance of the optical panel due to the arrangement of the optical path changing means can be reduced as much as possible, and a clear real image can be formed. Further, as in the case where the optical path changing means is disposed apart from the front of the optical panel, the entire apparatus is not increased in size and can be made inconspicuous from the viewer. Further, when the optical panel is composed of a lens array unit in which a plurality of unit lenses are arranged so that each optical axis is perpendicular to the image display surface, the optical path changing means is disposed behind the optical panel. Since the image light whose optical path is changed is not incident obliquely with respect to the optical axis of each unit lens as it is, the two-dimensional images can be appropriately formed. .
In this case, it is preferable that the optical path changing means is disposed close to the rear of the optical panel.
Also according to this configuration, the optical path changing means is disposed at a position separated from both the two-dimensional image (image display surface) that is the object of image formation and the image formation position. For this reason, the adverse effect on the imaging performance of the optical panel due to the arrangement of the optical path changing means in the image optical path can be reduced as much as possible, and a clear real image can be formed. Further, in this configuration, the optical path changing means is disposed behind the optical panel. For this reason, the optical path changing means can be made invisible to the viewer.
In this case, the optical path changing means preferably changes the optical path of the image light so that the imaging positions of the plurality of real images substantially coincide.
According to this configuration, a plurality of real images are formed at almost the same position. For this reason, even when the viewer moves between a plurality of directions in which the real image can be visually recognized, the viewer can visually recognize the plurality of real images at almost the same position, and the viewer does not feel uncomfortable.
In this case, it is preferable that the optical path changing means is composed of one or more prism sheets arranged corresponding to each divided screen.
According to this configuration, for example, the image display surface is divided into two, and the image light of the two-dimensional image displayed on one of the divided screens forms a real image at an angle of θ1 with respect to the optical panel, When the image light of the two-dimensional image displayed on the other divided screen forms an actual image at an angle of θ2 with respect to the optical panel, θ1 with respect to the optical panel corresponding to the one divided screen. A prism sheet that changes the optical path of the image light so as to make an angle of is arranged, and a prism sheet that changes the optical path of the image light so as to make an angle of θ2 with respect to the optical panel is arranged corresponding to the other divided screen. do it. Thus, the optical path changing means can be realized with a simple configuration. Further, by using the prism sheet, the optical path changing means can be made inconspicuous.
Further, in this case, the display means displays the same display object on the plurality of divided screens so that each real image has an attitude corresponding to an angle formed by the corresponding image light with respect to the optical panel. It is preferable to display a plurality of different two-dimensional images.
According to this configuration, each real image is an image having a posture corresponding to the visible angle of the viewer. For example, a real image viewed from the left side toward the optical panel is a left viewpoint image, and a real image viewed from the right side is a right viewpoint image. For this reason, it is possible to give the viewer a sense of reality as if they were looking at the real thing.
In this case, the display means displays two two-dimensional images that enable stereoscopic viewing based on binocular parallax on two divided screens divided in the horizontal direction, and the optical path changing means includes two two-dimensional images. It is preferable to change the optical paths of the two light beams of the two-dimensional images so that the real images of the images are formed with binocular parallax, respectively.
According to this configuration, real images can be viewed from a plurality of directions, and stereoscopic viewing based on binocular parallax can be performed.
In this case, the optical path changing means is composed of one or more prism sheets arranged corresponding to each divided screen, and the prism sheet has the prism pitch of the plurality of prism rows constituting the prism sheet of the plurality of unit lenses. It is preferable that the lens pitch is approximately n times or approximately 1 / n times (n is an integer of 1 or more).
According to this configuration, one of the prism pitch and the lens pitch is substantially an integer multiple of the other pitch. For this reason, generation | occurrence | production of the interference fringe (moire) by a prism sheet and a lens array unit can be reduced.
Hereinafter, an image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. This image display device is a 3D display compatible device used in, for example, an amusement theater, a product description display, a game machine, and the like. That is, a device that visually recognizes a real image three-dimensionally by forming a two-dimensional image displayed on the image display surface in space, and in particular, enabling real images to be visually recognized simultaneously from a plurality of directions. This can be realized by the apparatus.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, an
The
In the present embodiment, the
In the following description, the three divided
The
Each plate-
The
The
The
The
The optical
As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3, each
Here, the prism pitch Pp of the plurality of
Each
However, when each
With the left prism sheet 31l and the
Then, the optical
Here, the angle of each
As described above, since the three
Further, the optical
Here, the imaging positions of the three
On the other hand, the
Subsequently, an application example of the
Then, the optical

In FIG. 6, the
In FIG. 7, as in FIG. 6, the
