Description
The present invention relates to a sheet feeding apparatus that feeds sheets one by one and an image forming apparatus including the sheet feeding apparatus.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in an image forming apparatus such as a printer or a copying machine, a so-called air feeding type sheet feeding apparatus is known as a sheet feeding apparatus that feeds sheets one by one. In Patent Document 1, air is blown to the end of a sheet bundle to float a plurality of sheets, and the uppermost sheet among the lifted sheets is sucked and transported by a suction transport belt. A feeding device is disclosed.
Further, in Patent Document 2, in order to prevent the next sheet from being double-fed, the detector detects the leading edge of the sheet while the transport roller downstream of the sheet feeding unit is in operation, so that the sheet feeding unit stop unit feeds the sheet. A sheet feeding device that stops the suction operation of the paper portion and the belt running operation is disclosed.
Further, Patent Document 3 discloses a sheet feeding apparatus that separates and feeds sheets with the optimum air according to usage conditions such as the material (material) of the sheets to be separated and fed, the use state of the apparatus, and the use environment. Has been. Specifically, according to the materials and usage conditions described above, the air speed of the air blown from the blowing duct is set and registered from the operation screen, and the best air blown based on the registered data is used according to the material. We perform reliable separation feeding.
In a conventional air sheet feeding apparatus, when the sheet reaches the downstream conveying roller, the rotation of the suction conveying belt and the air suction operation are stopped. However, even when the air suction operation of the suction conveyance belt is stopped, the negative pressure in the suction duct remains, and depending on the type of the sheet, the sucked sheet may be difficult to separate from the suction conveyance belt. For this reason, there is a problem that this sheet becomes a load on a conveyance motor that drives a conveyance roller downstream of the suction conveyance belt in the sheet conveyance direction. Furthermore, the sheet is pulled between the suction conveyance belt and the conveyance roller, and there is a problem that wrinkles are generated in a thin sheet (sheet having a small basis weight).
An object of the present invention is to reduce the load of a conveyance motor that drives a conveyance roller downstream in the sheet conveyance direction from the adsorption conveyance belt and to prevent sheet wrinkling between the adsorption conveyance belt and the conveyance roller, thereby enabling stable sheet feeding. It is to provide a sheet feeding apparatus.
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a negative pressure generating means for generating a negative pressure, a suction duct connected to the negative pressure generating means and having a negative pressure inside, and rotatable along the suction duct. An adsorption conveyance belt that adsorbs and conveys a sheet by negative pressure in the suction duct, and a conveyance that is provided downstream of the adsorption conveyance belt in the sheet conveyance direction and conveys the sheet conveyed by the adsorption conveyance belt Supply of negative pressure into the suction duct by the negative pressure generating means according to the type of the sheet to be conveyed after the sheet conveyed by the suction conveyance belt reaches the conveyance member. The timing until the drive of the suction conveyance belt is stopped after turning off is changed.
Further, the present invention provides a negative pressure generating means for generating a negative pressure, a suction duct connected to the negative pressure generating means and having a negative pressure inside, and rotatably arranged along the suction duct. An adsorption conveyance belt that adsorbs and conveys a sheet by negative pressure in the duct, a conveyance member that is provided downstream of the adsorption conveyance belt in the sheet conveyance direction and conveys the sheet conveyed by the adsorption conveyance belt, A first detection member arranged along the conveyance direction; and a second detection member arranged downstream of the first detection member in the sheet conveyance direction, and conveyed by the suction conveyance belt. After the sheet reaches the conveying member, driving of the suction conveying belt is stopped, and further, based on the detection signal of either the first detecting member or the second detecting member, depending on the type of the sheet. Z Characterized by turning off the supply of negative pressure to the suction duct by the negative pressure generator Te.
According to the present invention, it is possible to stably feed a sheet by reducing the load on a conveyance motor that drives a conveyance member downstream of the adsorption conveyance belt in the sheet conveyance direction and preventing sheet wrinkling between the adsorption conveyance belt and the conveyance roller. .

However, the dimensions, materials, shapes, and relative arrangements of the components described in the following embodiments should be appropriately changed according to the configuration of the apparatus to which the present invention is applied and various conditions.
[First Embodiment]
An image forming apparatus provided with a sheet feeding apparatus according to the first embodiment will be described. FIG. 12 is a schematic cross-sectional view of an image forming apparatus provided with a sheet feeding device.
First, a schematic configuration of the image forming apparatus will be described. First, the original is automatically sent to the reading position by the
Next, the sheet feeding apparatus will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a sheet suction unit of the sheet feeding apparatus according to the first embodiment. FIG. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the sheet suction unit of the sheet feeding apparatus according to the first embodiment.
The
When a feed start signal is detected by a control unit (not shown), the
When the
FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating a circuit block configuration of the sheet feeding apparatus. The
Here, a sheet feeding method of a conventional sheet feeding apparatus will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 4 is a timing chart of the conventional sheet feeding apparatus.
When the feed start signal is detected, the
However, in the conventional sheet feeding method described with reference to FIG. 4, the negative pressure remains in the
FIG. 5 is a timing chart of the sheet feeding apparatus according to the present embodiment, which has been made to solve the above-described problems. As a point different from the conventional example, even after the
FIG. 6 is a flowchart of the sheet feeding apparatus according to this embodiment. In this flowchart, the operation is briefly described with one sheet to be fed. The difference in control according to the type of sheet will be described using this.
First, when a feeding start signal is detected, the type of sheet in the
Here, when the sheet type is a sheet having a basis weight that is not adsorbed due to its own weight with respect to the negative pressure remaining after the closing operation of the
The
On the other hand, if the sheet type is a sheet having a basis weight that remains adsorbed due to the low weight of the sheet itself against the negative pressure remaining after the closing operation of the
The
As described above, according to the present embodiment, after the leading edge of the sheet is detected by the

First, when a feeding start signal is detected, the type of sheet in the
Here, if the sheet type is a sheet having a basis weight that is not adsorbed due to its own weight with respect to the negative pressure remaining after the closing operation of the
The second
On the other hand, if the sheet type is a sheet having a basis weight that remains adsorbed due to the low weight of the sheet itself relative to the negative pressure remaining after the
The sensor output is monitored by the first
As described above, according to this embodiment, according to the type of sheet, the closing operation of the
