Description
The present invention relates to a wire saw device and a cutting method using the same, and more particularly, to a wire saw device and a cutting method that are preferably used for cutting rare earth magnet powder compacts.
The rare earth sintered magnet is manufactured through press molding of rare earth magnet powder, followed by a sintering process, an aging heat treatment process, a processing process, and the like. Currently, two types of rare earth sintered magnets, rare earth / cobalt magnets and rare earth / iron / boron magnets, are widely used in various fields. Among them, a rare earth / iron / boron magnet (hereinafter referred to as “R—Fe—B magnet”, where R is at least one element selected from the group consisting of rare earth elements and yttrium, Fe is iron, and B is boron. Has the highest magnetic energy product among various magnets, and the price is relatively low, so it is actively adopted in various electronic devices. A part of Fe may be substituted with a transition metal element such as Co. Further, up to half of boron may be substituted with carbon.
In order to produce a sintered magnet having a desired shape, first, an R-Fe-B rare earth magnet powder is compression-molded by a press device to produce a molded body having a size larger than the final magnet product. . And after making a molded object into a sintered compact by a sintering process, the sintered compact is ground by a cemented carbide blade saw or a rotating grindstone, etc., and a desired shape is given. For example, after producing a sintered body having a block shape, a plurality of plate-like sintered body portions are cut out by slicing the sintered body with a blade saw or the like.
However, sintered bodies of rare-earth alloy magnets such as R—Fe—B magnets are extremely hard and brittle and have a large processing load. Therefore, high-precision grinding is a difficult task and requires a long processing time. For this reason, a processing process is an important cause of an increase in manufacturing cost.
However, as a result of examination by the present inventor, in the cutting method described in
As a result of various investigations, the cause of clogging is that the compact is easier to cut than the sintered body, so the amount of cutting waste generated per unit time is very large. I found out that there was a shortage.
The present invention has been made in view of such various points, and a main object thereof is to provide a wire saw device and a cutting method with improved cutting waste discharging efficiency.

The cutting method according to the present invention includes a step of preparing a single wire saw having abrasive grains fixed to the outer peripheral surface of a core wire, the wire saw having a predetermined direction in a predetermined direction with respect to the first traveling line and the first traveling line. Embodiments of a wire saw device and a cutting method using the wire saw of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In the following description, an example of cutting a workpiece of a compact (green compact) of an R-T-B rare earth magnet powder, in which the effects of the present invention are particularly remarkable, will be described. Embodiments of the present invention Is not limited to this.
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a
In the
The wire saw 1 wound around the
The
In the
Further, when the wire saw 1 is wound like the wire saw
Next, with reference to FIG. 2 (a) and (b), the relationship between the 1st travel line L12 and the 2nd travel line L14, and the
The
As shown in FIG. 2A, the first traveling line L12 and the second traveling line L14 formed by winding a single wire saw 1 are substantially parallel to each other with a predetermined interval therebetween. As shown to b), it exists in the cut surface formed when slicing the
As shown in FIG. 1, the wire saw 1 is hung on the first roller set 12 in a plurality of lines to form a plurality of first traveling lines L12 parallel to each other and on the second roller set 14 in a plurality of lines. A plurality of parallel second traveling lines L14 are formed. Therefore, when the wire saw
Here, as shown in FIG. 2A, the distance between the first scanning line L12 and the second scanning line L14 is preferably a relatively narrow distance of 10 mm or less, 5 mm or less, and further 3 mm or less. Preferably there is. The preferred range of the gap depends on the material of the
Such a phenomenon becomes more prominent when the cutting fluid is supplied to a portion where the
Note that, when the cut plate-

In the wire saw
As the fixed abrasive wire saw, it is preferable to use the following. The wire core wire is preferably formed from a material having high tensile strength, for example, a hard steel wire (piano wire), an alloy such as Ni—Cr or Fe—Ni, a high melting point metal such as W or Mo, or a nylon fiber. It is formed from a bundle. On the other hand, if the wire is too thick, the cutting allowance increases, and the yield of the material decreases. Conversely, if the wire is too thin, the wire may be cut by a processing load. In addition, the cutting resistance is increased, causing heat generation and ignition. For this reason, it is preferable that the outer diameter of the wire used in the present invention is set to 0.05 mm or more and 3.0 mm or less. The outer diameter of the wire is more preferably 0.1 mm or greater and 1.0 mm or less.
On the other hand, the abrasive grains are preferably formed from a high-hardness material such as diamond, SiC, or alumina, and the particle diameter is typically 10 μm or more and 1000 μm or less. The abrasive grains are preferably fixed to the surface of the wire core by a bonding layer such as a resin film. As the resin film, a phenol resin, an epoxy resin, or a polyimide resin can be used, but a phenol resin is preferable because of its excellent resistance to cutting fluid. The thickness of the resin film is about 0.02 mm to 1.0 mm.
When the core wire radius is Rw, the minimum thickness of the resin layer is Trl, the maximum value is Trh, and the thickness deviation rate Td is (Trh−Trl) / {(Trh + Trl) / 2}, the thickness deviation rate is 40%. It is preferable that it is less than. The denominator (Trh + Trl) / 2 may be the average thickness of the resin layer. The thickness deviation rate is obtained by actually measuring the radius Rw of the core wire, the minimum value Trl and the maximum value of the thickness of the resin layer. The thickness of the resin layer is obtained from, for example, an optical micrograph of a cross section of a wire saw. Of course, the ideal thickness deviation of the resin layer is 0%. By controlling the uneven thickness ratio within the above range, the behavior of the wire saw at the time of cutting is stabilized.
The abrasive grains may be fixed using a metal film or the like instead of the resin film as the bonding layer. For example, a wire in which abrasive grains are fixed by an electrodeposition method (electroplating method) (sometimes referred to as an “electrodeposited abrasive wire”) projects more than the wire in which abrasive particles are fixed by a resin layer. Since (the height of the portion where the abrasive grains protrude from the surface of the bonding layer) can be increased, it is preferable because it is excellent in dischargeability of cutting waste (swarf or sludge). Moreover, a ground wire may be used as long as sufficient strength is obtained. The use of the ground wire can further improve the discharge performance of the cutting waste. Moreover, it has the advantage that it is excellent in the tolerance with respect to cutting fluid.
From the viewpoint of cutting efficiency, the average particle size of the abrasive grains is preferably in the range of 30 μm to 1000 μm, and particularly preferably in the range of 40 μm to 200 μm. Further, from the viewpoint of cutting efficiency and cutting waste discharging efficiency, the average distance between adjacent abrasive grains in the traveling direction of the wire saw may be in the range of 150% to 600% of the average grain diameter of the abrasive grains. preferable.
The protruding amount is preferably in the range of 15 μm to 500 μm. Further, when the average particle diameter of the abrasive grains is D and the height (protrusion amount) of the portion where the
A suitable composition and manufacturing method of the R-T-B rare earth magnet powder in which the present invention is suitably used are described in, for example, US Pat. No. 4,770,723 and US Pat. No. 4,792,368. Has been.
R−T−B系希土類磁石の典型的な組成では、R(希土類元素:Nd、Y、La、Ce、Pr、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Tm、Yb、Lu)としてNdまたはPrが主に用いられる。 In a typical composition of the RTB-based rare earth magnet, R (rare earth elements: Nd, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) Nd or Pr is mainly used. Further, 10 atomic% or less of the rare earth element R may be replaced with heavy rare earth (Dy, Tb, Ho, etc.). T (transition metal element) is typically one in which Fe or a part of Fe is substituted with Co or Ni. As B, B (boron) or a part of B (less than 50%) is generally substituted with C (carbon). A preferable composition is that R is 25% by mass to 40% by mass, B is 0.6% by mass to 1.6% by mass, and the balance is T, a trace amount of added elements, and inevitable impurities. The trace additive element is preferably at least one of Al, Cu, Ga, Cr, Mo, V, Nb, and Mn, and the addition amount is preferably 1% by mass or less.
The powder of the RTB-based rare earth magnet is produced, for example, by the following process.
A molten metal in which an Nd-T-B alloy having a predetermined composition is melted is allowed to flow on a cooling roll in a vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere at a cooling rate of 10 2 ° C / sec to 10 4 ° C / sec. Cool and solidify into strips. Thereafter, when the temperature reaches 700 ° C. to 900 ° C., the solidified ribbon is strip-like while being cooled at a cooling rate of 10 ° C./sec to 10 2 ° C./sec (the average particle size may be in the range of 10 μm to 500 μm. Preferably)) and stored in a container.
The obtained solidified ribbon is embrittled by a known hydrogen embrittlement method and then pulverized using a pulverizer such as a jet mill. The average particle size of the alloy powder finally subjected to press forming is preferably in the range of about 1 μm to about 10 μm, and more preferably in the range of 1.5 μm to 7 μm. If necessary, a lubricant is applied to the surface of the alloy powder in order to suppress oxidation and / or improve fluidity and press formability. Further, the fluidity and press formability may be improved by granulating the alloy powder. Examples of the lubricant include zinc stearate, methyl caproate, and, for example, described in JP-A-6-290919, JP-A-8-111308, JP-A-9-3504, and JP-A-2000-109903. What has been used can also be used.
A molded body (green compact) is obtained by press-molding the rare earth magnet powder thus obtained. The press molding of the rare earth magnet powder is, for example, 0.2 ton / cm 2 to 2.0 ton / cm 2 (1. While being oriented in a magnetic field of about 0.2 MA / m to 4 MA / m using an electric press. 96 × 10 4 kPa to 1.96 × 10 5 kPa). Whereas the true density of the rare earth magnet is about 7.5 g / cm 3, a range of preferred green density is 3.8 g / cm 3 or more 5.0 g / cm 3 or less. Considering the magnetic properties after sintering and the yield due to the occurrence of cracks and chips in the molded body, the density of the molded body is more preferably 4.0 g / cm 3 or more and 4.7 g / cm 3 or less. If the molding density is too small, the strength of the molded body is lowered, and there is a problem that the molded body is easily cracked or chipped. Therefore, the density of the molded body is preferably at least 3.6 g / cm 3 or more.
In the embodiment according to the present invention, the molded body thus obtained is cut into a predetermined size using a wire saw.
The obtained molded piece (for example, plate-like piece) is sintered by a known method. For example, sintering is performed at a temperature of about 1000 ° C. to about 1100 ° C. in an inert gas (rare gas or nitrogen gas) atmosphere or in a vacuum for about 1 hour to about 5 hours. By aging the obtained sintered body at a temperature of about 450 ° C. to about 800 ° C. for about 1 hour to about 8 hours, an R—Fe—B alloy sintered body is obtained.
In order to reduce the amount of carbon contained in the sintered body and improve the magnetic properties, the lubricant covering the surface of the alloy powder may be removed by heating before the sintering step, if necessary. . Although depending on the type of lubricant, the heat removal step is performed, for example, at a temperature of about 100 ° C. to 800 ° C. under a reduced pressure atmosphere for about 3 hours to about 6 hours.
Hereinafter, the wire saw device and the cutting method using the wire saw according to the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to examples. As the wire saw device, the wire saw
The compact of the rare earth magnet powder used here was 26% by mass (Nd + Pr), 5% by mass Dy, 1% by mass B, 1% by mass Co, 0.2% by mass Al, 0.1% by mass Cu, and the balance Fe. A magnet powder (FSSS particle size: 3.0 to 3.2 μm) having the following alloy composition is molded using a known press machine. The applied magnetic field for magnetic field orientation was about 1.2T. The remanent magnetization was 0.012T. The density of the molded body was 4.2 g / cm 3 . As shown in FIG. 2B, the molded body had a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape, and the size was 42 mm high × 40 mm wide × depth (length in the wire saw traveling direction) 57 mm. The wire outer diameter (wire diameter) of the wire saw was 0.25 mm, the grain size of the abrasive grains was 40 μm to 60 μm, and those fixed with a phenol resin were used. The wire saw tension was 25 N and the cutting speed was 5 mm / sec. The traveling speed of the wire saw was 600 m / min. Moreover, the difference by the presence or absence of the use of a cutting fluid was examined together. Here, MAGCOAT NF (viscosity 1.8 mm 2 / s) manufactured by Palace Chemical Co., Ltd. was used as the cutting fluid. The dischargeability of the cutting waste was evaluated by the thickness of the magnetic powder layer remaining on the cut surface. That is, the smaller the thickness of the remaining magnetic powder layer is, the higher the discharge property is. The results are shown in Table 1.
As is clear from Table 1, in both cases of the dry type and the wet type (with cutting fluid), the double wire method of the example has a smaller magnetic particle adhesion layer and higher dischargeability than the single wire method. I understand that. In particular, in the case of a wet type, it can be seen that the use of the double wire method greatly improves the discharge performance.
Further, the number of twists of the wire saw when the traveling speed of the wire saw was 300 m / min was compared. The number of twists after reciprocating the wire saw 270 times was determined per 8 m of wire saw. In the single wire method, it was 208 times, whereas in the double wire method, it was 120 times.
Thus, by using the wire saw device according to the present invention, it is possible to improve the dischargeability of cutting waste. In addition, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of twisting, which is a cause of wire saw breakage.
In addition, although the wire saw apparatus provided with 2 pairs of main rollers is disclosed by patent document 2, the wire saw is independently attached for every pair of main rollers. Moreover, the running line in the cutting area is not formed on the same straight line. In order to cut a thin portion that cannot be cut by a running line formed by a pair of main rollers, or to cut out in a grid shape, the running line is intentionally shifted, and the configuration of the double wire system according to the present invention There is no disclosure or suggestion that it can produce high emissions.
