Description

The present invention generally relates to a visual noise generating device that gives a visual stimulus to a person, and more particularly, to a visual noise generating device that eliminates so-called viewpoint fixation in which a human visual field is narrowly fixed.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a device that gives a visual stimulus to a person is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).

Patent Document 1 discloses an apparatus for displaying an image blinking or blinking on a front windshield at a frequency corresponding to a critical fusion frequency near the center position of a human retina in a vehicle.
JP 2003-48453 A

However, according to the conventional device described in Patent Document 1, when the driver is looking forward, the image is visually recognized as a flicker-free image, and when the driver is looking aside, the image is flickered. It is said that the driver can recognize that he is looking aside, but even if he sees a flickering image, it is personal There is a difference.

In addition, the conventional device described in Patent Document 1 is intended exclusively to prevent side-view driving, and for example, as shown in FIG. 1, the viewpoint of the driver D of the vehicle V is a point in the foreground (for example, Adhered to highly attractive objects such as advertisements and signboards (eg, “△△ is 50% OFF!” Etc.); There is no countermeasure against the problem that the attention to the area may be reduced. Thus, in the state where the attention of the driver D is fixed to one point in the foreground, for example, as shown in the figure, discovery may be delayed with respect to the stop lamp lighting of the preceding vehicle F or the pedestrian P entering the road. There is sex.

The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a visual noise generating device that uses visual noise to eliminate human viewpoint fixation.

One aspect of the present invention for achieving the above object is a visual noise generating device for giving a visual stimulus to a person, a light source group including a plurality of light sources (for example, LEDs), and a probability for a viewer of the light source group. It is a visual noise generator having control means for controlling lighting of each of the plurality of light sources so as to generate visual noise that causes a resonance phenomenon (Stochastic Resonance Phenomenon).

In the one aspect, the plurality of light sources are arranged in a horizontal row, for example, to form the light source group.

Further, in the above aspect, the control unit may randomly select each of the plurality of light sources, for example, at random timing so that visual noise that causes a stochastic resonance phenomenon to occur in a viewer of the light source group is generated. Turn on with brightness.

According to the above aspect, the visual noise that causes the stochastic resonance phenomenon is given to the viewer of the light source group, so that the visual ability of the viewer is activated and the visual field is widened, and the line of sight is applied to the light source group. Even when they are in the right position, the viewer can recognize the situation at a greater distance.

Therefore, in the above aspect, the light source group is placed in the vehicle interior of the vehicle (for example, around the windshield or the vehicle driver fixes the line of sight so as to enter the field of view of the driver who is driving the vehicle. If it is installed (for example, around the display of a navigation system), it is possible to broaden the driver's field of vision when visual noise generated from the light source group enters the field of view, and the driver's high visibility Even when the line of sight has been drawn, it is possible to pay attention to a wider area.

This makes it easier for the vehicle driver to recognize the presence of, for example, a preceding vehicle or a pedestrian entering the road, even if his eyes are taken and stuck to a highly attractive object. The driver can easily switch the line-of-sight destination when recognizing the presence of an object to which such attention should be paid, so that a state in which attention fixation can be easily eliminated can be created.

ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the visual noise generator which eliminates a human viewpoint fixation can be provided.

Hereinafter, the best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In the embodiment described below, as an example, a case where the visual noise generating device according to the present invention is applied to a vehicle is taken as an example.

Hereinafter, a visual noise generator according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In the present embodiment, visual noise is given to the vehicle driver to cause a stochastic resonance phenomenon, and the fixation of the driver's viewpoint is eliminated.

The stochastic resonance phenomenon is a phenomenon in which the ability to detect a weak signal is increased by superimposing appropriate noise on the signal in a nonlinear system. Here, it has been found that the noise for causing the stochastic resonance phenomenon needs to be a random broadband noise that does not exhibit an extremely high intensity in other specific bands in a specific frequency band.

The phenomenon itself of the stochastic resonance phenomenon is introduced in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-221546 and US Pat. No. 6,285,249.

First, an experiment conducted by the inventors of the present application will be described with reference to FIG. 2 with respect to a phenomenon / principle on which the visual noise generator according to the present embodiment depends.

In the experiment, first, the subject (viewer) had his gaze fixed at a gazing point A (indicated by a cross in the figure) provided in the center of the front screen D, and left and right of the gazing point A in that state. The target T (represented by a circle in the figure) was moved horizontally toward the gazing point A, and it was observed how far the subject was able to recognize the presence of the target T when the target T approached the gazing point A.

At this time, as shown in FIG. 2B, a linear light source group N arranged horizontally in a horizontal line is prepared between the gazing point A and the target T, and these light sources are clearly visible to the naked eye. Was lit at such a weak level that it was invisible. Here, each light source is turned on at random timing and with random luminance to generate visual noise so that a stochastic resonance phenomenon occurs in the subject.

In such a state, when visual noise is given as shown in FIG. 2 (b) and when visual noise is not given as shown in FIG. 2 (a), the target T is recognized by the subject. The distance from the gazing point A to the target T was compared.

Then, in the experiment, when visual noise causing a stochastic resonance phenomenon is given by the light source group N as shown in FIG. 2B, the subject recognizes the presence of the target T at a position farther from the gazing point A. It was confirmed that it will be possible. That is, it was confirmed that the visual field of the viewer who fixed the line of sight to the gazing point A can be widened by giving visual noise and causing a stochastic resonance phenomenon.

In this embodiment, the visual noise generation apparatus according to the present invention is applied to a vehicle using such an experimental result, and the visual noise of the vehicle driver is broadened so that attention fixation is appropriately eliminated. Is generated.

FIG. 3 is a schematic configuration diagram of a visual noise generator 300 according to the present embodiment.

The visual noise generating device 300 includes a light source group 302 including a plurality of light sources 301 arranged in a horizontal example, and an energization control unit 303 that supplies a control signal to each of the light sources 301 constituting the light source group 302 to control lighting. Have

本実施例において、光源301は、典型的には、例えばLED(Light Emitting Diode;発光ダイオード)である。   In this embodiment, the light source 301 is typically, for example, an LED (Light Emitting Diode).

The energization control unit 303 assigns 1 to n channel (CH) numbers to each light source 301 of the light source group 302, assigns random gradation values to each channel, and outputs them to the light source group 302. This is repeated for each sampling frequency, and the light source 301 in which the light source group 302 is turned on and the blinking light sequence in which the luminance at the time of lighting is switched at random become a visual effect that causes a stochastic resonance phenomenon in a viewer whose light source group 302 is in the field of view. Make noise.

Here, in any lighting state, the output level of the light source group 302 is a weak level that cannot be clearly seen with the naked eye.

By controlling the signal of the light source group 302 in this manner, a stochastic resonance phenomenon can be generated in the viewer of the light source group 302.

4 to 8 show specific arrangement examples of the light source group 302 when the visual noise generating device 300 according to this embodiment is applied to a vehicle.

4 and 5 show that the light source group 302 is placed on the windshield so that the visual noise generated by the light source group 302 is within the field of view of the driver D when the vehicle driver D is driving while looking in front of the host vehicle. FIG. 4 shows an example of arrangement around the vehicle, FIG. 4 schematically shows a case where the vehicle is arranged on the dashboard of the vehicle, and FIG. 5 schematically shows a case where it is arranged on the left and right pillar portions (so-called A pillars). Show.

In the case of the example shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, even when the vehicle driver D turns his gaze toward a highly attracting object such as an advertisement or a signboard that is unintentionally drawn while driving, Since the field of view is widened by the stochastic resonance phenomenon caused by visual noise, it is possible to quickly recognize the presence of attention such as a preceding vehicle or a pedestrian, and it is easy to eliminate attention sticking.

FIGS. 6 to 8 show that the light source group 302 is arranged in the vicinity of a region in the passenger compartment where the vehicle driver D may turn his / her line of sight while driving the vehicle, and driving when the driver turns his / her line of sight to these regions 6 shows an example of preventing the person's attention from sticking, FIG. 6 shows a case where it is placed near the interior light 601, and FIG. 7 shows a case where it is placed together with meters in the instrument panel (instrument panel) 701. 8 schematically shows the case where the navigation system is disposed near the display (navigation display) 801 of the navigation system.

In the case of the examples shown in FIGS. 6 to 8, even when the vehicle driver D turns his line of sight toward the interior light 601, the instrument panel 701, or the navigation display 801 during driving, the field of view is caused by the stochastic resonance phenomenon caused by visual noise. Since it is spreading, it is possible to quickly recognize the presence of attention such as a preceding vehicle or a pedestrian, and it becomes easy to eliminate attention sticking.

As will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the specific examples shown in FIGS. 4 to 8 can be implemented in any combination. 4-8, the light source group 302 may be controlled to light up so as to always generate visual noise when the ignition switch (IG) is on, or 2) IG. The lighting control may be performed so that visual noise is generated only when a predetermined condition (for example, the vehicle speed is equal to or higher than a predetermined speed) is satisfied.

As an example of the latter 2), for example, in the specific example shown in FIG. 8, the generation of visual noise by the light source group 302 and the operation of the navigation system may be linked.

For example, A) visual noise may be generated only while it is detected that the navigation system is operated by the driver D, or B) the navigation system is operated by the driver D. Visual noise may be generated only when the vehicle speed is detected and the vehicle speed is equal to or higher than a predetermined speed, or C) Visual noise is generated only while the intersection frame map is displayed on the navigation display. May be.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, visual noise that causes a stochastic resonance phenomenon is given to the driver who is driving the vehicle, so that the driver's field of view can be widened by the effect of the stochastic resonance phenomenon.

The wider field of view enables the driver to recognize a wider area of visual information than when no visual noise is given. It becomes possible to recognize the existence of an object that should be paid attention to, such as an intrusion into an earlier stage.

It is considered that a driver who recognizes the existence of an object to which attention should be paid shifts his gaze from the object that has been attracted attention until then to the object that should be newly recognized. That is, it is possible to create a state in which the movement of the line of sight is more easily promoted, and thus attention fixation can be more easily eliminated.

In the above-described embodiment, the light source group that generates visual noise is composed of a plurality of LEDs. However, the present invention is not limited to this shape. As a modification, for example, FIG. As shown, instead of the light source group 302 of FIGS. 4 to 8, a light source group that generates visual noise using a known head-up display (HUD) device may be generated on the windshield as a hologram virtual image 302 ′. Good.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the light source group is formed by a plurality of light sources arranged in a line based on the result of the experiment by the inventors as described above. This is merely an example of the pattern, and the arrangement pattern of the light sources may be arbitrary as long as it generates visual noise that has the effect of expanding the visual field of the viewer whose light source group has entered the visual field.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The present invention can be used for a visual noise generating apparatus that uses visual noise to eliminate human viewpoint fixation. In the above embodiment (and its modification), the case where it is mounted on a vehicle is taken as an example. However, the use place of the visual noise generating device according to the present invention is not limited to the vehicle, and the viewer's attention is fixed. It can be used in any place or area where the problem is to be resolved. In addition, when the visual noise generating device according to the present invention is applied to a vehicle as in the above-described embodiment (and modifications thereof), the appearance, weight, size, running performance, etc. of the mounted vehicle are not limited.
