Description
The present invention relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine, and more particularly to an EGR after merging after EGR gas taken out independently from each cylinder group merges in an internal combustion engine having a first cylinder group and a second cylinder group. The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine control apparatus suitable for controlling the air-fuel ratio of EGR gas flowing in a passage.
Conventionally, for example,
However, the EGR passage is configured to take out the EGR gas independently from each bank (the first cylinder group and the second cylinder group) as in the above-described conventional device, and the EGR gas from both banks merges. In the case where the post-merging EGR passage is provided with a sub-catalyst, if the back pressure is different for each bank due to the difference in the shape of the exhaust pipe between the banks, the amount of EGR gas (EGR introduction between the EGR passages) Rate) will be different. Further, even when there is a difference in the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas discharged from each bank, the air-fuel ratio of the EGR gas differs between the EGR passages. As a result, the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas introduced into the main catalyst differs from the air-fuel ratio of the EGR gas introduced into the sub-catalyst on the EGR passage after merging, so that the sub-catalyst's purification ability can be fully exhibited. It becomes difficult.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems. The air-fuel ratio of the EGR gas after being merged after being taken out independently from the first cylinder group and the second cylinder group is It is an object of the present invention to provide a control device for an internal combustion engine that can be satisfactorily controlled without relying on means for directly detecting the air-fuel ratio of EGR gas.

The second invention is the first invention, wherein
The EGR gas amount correction means, when performing the correction of the EGR gas amount, first corrects the amount of EGR gas flowing through one of the first EGR passage and the second EGR passage, As a result, when the absolute value of the learning value difference becomes large, it includes a gas amount correction passage changing means for changing the EGR passage for correcting the EGR gas amount to the other EGR passage.
The third invention is the first or second invention, wherein
The EGR gas amount correction means includes ignition timing correction means for correcting an ignition timing for each cylinder group of the first cylinder group and the second cylinder group.
When the EGR gas amount (EGR introduction rate) is different between the EGR passages, or when the EGR gas air-fuel ratio is different between the EGR passages, the sensor air-fuel ratio is different between when the EGR control is not executed and when the EGR control is executed. As a result, a difference occurs in the air-fuel ratio control learning value. According to the first aspect of the present invention, the absolute value of the learned value difference between the air-fuel ratio control learned value when the EGR control is not executed and the air-fuel ratio control learned value when the EGR control is executed is less than the predetermined value. The EGR gas amount is corrected for each of the EGR passages of the 1EGR passage and the second EGR passage. As a result, the EGR air-fuel ratio can be controlled so that the EGR air-fuel ratio becomes equal to the sensor air-fuel ratio.
According to the second invention, first, the EGR gas amount is corrected on a trial basis after any one of the first EGR passage and the second EGR passage is selected, and the correction result is obtained. Accordingly, when the absolute value of the learning value difference increases, the EGR passage for correcting the EGR gas amount is changed to the other EGR passage. That is, according to the present invention, it is possible to accurately correct the EGR gas amount for each EGR passage using the change in the absolute value of the learning value difference accompanying the correction of the EGR gas amount for each EGR passage.
According to the third aspect of the invention, it is possible to satisfactorily correct the EGR gas amount for each EGR passage by changing the back pressure for each cylinder group by correcting the ignition timing for each cylinder group.

The control system of the
[Learning in A / F feedback control]
The
When the main feedback control is executed, the correction amount calculated for correcting the base fuel injection amount includes an integral term. This integral term is calculated as a value obtained by multiplying the integrated value of the output deviation of the air-
In the system of this embodiment, the average value of the integral term is stored as an A / F control learning value for each predetermined operation region. If such processing is performed, the long-term deviation amount of the air-fuel ratio (relative to the control target air-fuel ratio) accumulated in the system is referred to for each operation region by referring to the A / F control learning value. It can be acquired.
[Air-fuel ratio when executing EGR control]
According to the configuration of the present embodiment described above, the
AFsensor=(A+B)/2 ・・・(1)
When the EGR control as described above is not executed, the air-fuel ratio detected by the air-
AFsensor = (A + B) / 2 (1)
That is, the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor in this case is an average value of the air-fuel ratios A and B of the exhaust gas discharged from each cylinder group. The sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor is controlled to converge to the control target air-fuel ratio (AFref) by the A / F feedback control.
AFSensor={A×(1−α)+B×(1−β)}/{2−(α+β)}・・・(2)
AFegr={A×α+B×β}/(α+β) ・・・(3)
On the other hand, when the EGR control is executed, as shown in FIG. 2, the introduction rate of EGR gas introduced from the
AFS Sensor = {A × (1−α) + B × (1−β)} / {2− (α + β)} (2)
When EGR control is being performed, the air-fuel ratio in the
AFegr = {A × α + B × β} / (α + β) (3)
Here, when the EGR rate in the total of the two
On the other hand, if the back pressure is different for each cylinder group due to the difference in the shape of the exhaust passage between the cylinder groups, the EGR gas amount (EGR introduction rate α, β) is different between the two
As described above, the EGR introduction rates α and β may be different between the two
In order to solve the above problem, it is conceivable to provide an air-fuel ratio sensor upstream of the
[Characteristics of Embodiment 1]
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the A / F control learned value FGAFXegron at the time of executing the EGR control so that the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr can be favorably controlled without relying on means for directly detecting the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr. And EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr is controlled based on the comparison result between A / F control learning value FGAFXegroff when EGR control is not executed. Hereinafter, the control method will be specifically described.
FIG. 3 shows the change tendency of the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor (that is, the tendency of the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr described below) accompanying the switching from the EGR control non-execution state to the EGR control execution state. FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the relationship between the fuel ratios A and B (estimated values) and the EGR introduction rates α and β (estimated values) of the
As shown in FIG. 3, when the EGR introduction rates α and β are equal between the two
On the other hand, as described above, the EGR introduction rates α and β may differ due to the difference in the shape of the exhaust passage between the cylinder groups, and the air-fuel ratio A of the exhaust gas discharged from each cylinder group. , B may be different. In such a case, the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor changes before and after the execution of EGR control. More specifically, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr becomes positive (when the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor changes to the rich side as the EGR control is executed) and when negative (when the EGR control is executed, the sensor The air-fuel ratio AFsensor changes to the lean side).
More specifically, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr becomes positive, the following two methods are conceivable.
That is, ΔAFegr = AFegroff−AFegron = [(A + B) / 2− {A × (1−α) + B × (1−β)} / {2− (α + β)}]> 0. Then, (α−β) (A−B)> 0 is satisfied.
Therefore, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr is positive, as shown in FIG. 3, (1) α> β and A> B, and (2) α <β and A <B. The case will be applicable.
On the contrary, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr becomes negative, the following two methods are conceivable.
That is, ΔAFegr = AFegroff−AFegron = [(A + B) / 2− {A × (1−α) + B × (1−β)} / {2− (α + β)}] <0. Then, (α−β) (A−B) <0 holds.
Therefore, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr becomes negative, as shown in FIG. 3, (3) a case where α <β and A> B, and (4) a> β and A <B. The case will be applicable.
FIG. 4 shows the change tendency of the A / F control learning value (that is, the tendency of the following A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf) with the switching from the EGR control non-execution state to the EGR control execution state. 6 is a diagram showing the relationship between the air-fuel ratios A and B (estimated values) of 60 and 62 and the EGR introduction rates α and β (estimated values) of the
The tendency of the sign of the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf shown in FIG. 4 reflects the tendency of the sensor air-fuel ratio difference AFegr to change. In other words, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference AFegr is positive, the A / F control learning value is a direction for correcting the shift to the rich side of the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor accompanying the execution of EGR control (the fuel injection amount is reduced). The correction direction changes, that is, the “−” direction. Accordingly, the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is a value on the “+” side. On the contrary, when the sensor air-fuel ratio difference AFegr is negative, the A / F control learning value is a direction for correcting the leaning of the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor due to the execution of EGR control (the fuel injection amount is The direction of increase correction is changed, that is, the “+” direction. Accordingly, the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is a value on the “−” side.
As described above, when the change in the A / F control learned value is observed before and after the execution of the EGR control, the cause of the difference between the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor and the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr is that the A / F control learned value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is In the case of “+”, it can be determined that either the case (1) or the case (2) is present, and when the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is “−”, the case (3) and It can be determined that the case is either case (4).
Therefore, in this embodiment, as will be described later with reference to FIGS. 5 and 6, A / F control learning is performed based on the change (comparison result) of the A / F control learning value before and after the execution of EGR control. The amount of EGR gas flowing through each of the
Note that the reason why the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor and the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr are different from each other using the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr as shown in FIG. 3 is not the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf. It can also be determined whether the case (1) or the case (2) or the case (3) or the case (4). However, since the output value itself of the air-
Hereinafter, with reference to FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, a specific process for realizing the characteristic control of the above-described embodiment will be described.
FIG. 5 is a flowchart of a main routine executed by the
Next, whether or not the EGR control is being executed is determined based on the operating state of the internal combustion engine 10 (step 104). If it is determined in
On the other hand, if it is determined in
Next, the A / F control learned value FGAFXegroff when the EGR control is not executed and the A / F control learned value FGAFXegron when the EGR control is executed in a state in which the above-described areas divided according to the fresh air amount are associated with each other. / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is calculated (step 114). Next, it is determined whether or not the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the calculated A / F control learning value difference is equal to or greater than a predetermined value (step 116).
The A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is a difference between A / F control learning values acquired under the same conditions other than the presence / absence of execution of EGR control. Therefore, when the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, there is a difference in the A / F control learning value due to the presence or absence of execution of EGR control. Accordingly, it can be presumed that the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor and the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr are different from each other.
Therefore, if the determination in
FIG. 6 is a subroutine flowchart showing details of the EGR air-fuel ratio correction control in
In the subroutine shown in FIG. 6, first, it is determined whether or not the current start-up of this subroutine is the first time when the EGR air-fuel ratio correction control is started (step 200). As a result, if it is determined that it is the first time, it is then determined whether or not the current A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf is smaller than zero (step 202).
As a result, if it is determined in
Here, if ΔAFegrfgaf <0 is satisfied in
If the current state is case (4), that is, if α> β and A <B, the EGR introduction rate α is reduced by the advance correction of the ignition timing of the first cylinder group. Thus, the difference between the EGR introduction rates α and β between the two cylinder groups is reduced. This is because the sensor air-fuel ratio difference ΔAFegr decreases, and as a result, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference approaches in a direction that falls within the predetermined value. Therefore, when the current state is case (4), the advance correction of the ignition timing of the first cylinder group in
On the other hand, if the current state is case (3), that is, if α <β and A> B, EGR is performed by correcting the ignition timing of the first cylinder group in
In this case (in the case (3), when the ignition timing of the first cylinder group is first performed), after the determination of the
In this case (in the case (3), when the ignition timing of the first cylinder group is first performed), in
As a result, the EGR introduction rate β is reduced due to the decrease in the back pressure on the second cylinder group side, whereby the difference between the EGR introduction rates α and β between the two cylinder groups is reduced. As a result, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference approaches a direction that falls within the predetermined value. Thus, when the current state is case (3), the advance correction of the ignition timing of the second cylinder group in
On the other hand, if it is determined in
If ΔAFegrfgaf <0 is not established in
If the current state is case (2), that is, if α <β and A <B, the EGR introduction rate β is reduced by the advance correction of the ignition timing of the second cylinder group. Thus, the difference between the EGR introduction rates α and β between the two cylinder groups is reduced. As a result, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference approaches a direction that falls within the predetermined value. Therefore, when the current state is case (2), the advance correction of the ignition timing of the second cylinder group in step 214 is correct in eliminating the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf. In this case, the advance correction of the ignition timing of the second cylinder group is executed until the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference falls within the predetermined value. The
On the other hand, if the current state is case (1), that is, if α> β and A> B, EGR is performed by correcting the ignition timing of the second cylinder group in step 214 above. By reducing the introduction rate β, the difference between the EGR introduction rates α and β increases between the two cylinder groups. As a result, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the difference between the A / F control learning values is moved away from the direction within the predetermined value. This also means that the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference is larger than the previous value | ΔAFegrfgaf_old |. Therefore, when the current state is case (1), the advance correction of the ignition timing of the second cylinder group in step 214 is incorrect in eliminating the A / F control learning value difference ΔAFegrfgaf. It can be said that it was control.
In this case (in the case (1), when the ignition timing of the second cylinder group is first performed), after the determination of
As a result, the EGR introduction rate α is reduced by the decrease in the back pressure on the first cylinder group side, so that the difference between the EGR introduction rates α and β between the two cylinder groups is reduced. As a result, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference comes within the predetermined value. Thus, when the current state is case (1), the advance correction of the ignition timing of the first cylinder group in

The When the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of these A / F control learning value differences is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference is determined according to the routine shown in FIG.
According to the routine shown in FIG. 6, the correction of the EGR gas amount is executed by correcting the advance of the ignition timing for each cylinder group. Specifically, first, one of the first cylinder group and the second cylinder group is selected, and then correction of the EGR gas amount is executed on a trial basis. When the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference becomes small by such correction (ignition timing advance correction), the EGR gas amount using the cylinder group selected here This correction is continuously executed until the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the difference in A / F control learning value falls within a predetermined value. Conversely, when the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference becomes large, it is determined that the correction of the EGR gas amount using the selected cylinder group is incorrect, and EGR is performed. After switching the cylinder group that performs gas correction to the other cylinder group, the correction of EGR gas using the other cylinder group is such that the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference is within a predetermined value. It runs continuously until it fits. That is, according to such a method, the EGR gas amount for each of the
According to the processing of the routine shown in FIG. 6 as described above, correction of EGR gas (cylinder) is performed for each of the
FIG. 7 is a time chart showing the operation when the control of this embodiment is applied to the state of the case (1). More specifically, FIG. 7A shows a waveform representing the success or failure of the EGR execution flag, and FIG. 7B shows a waveform representing changes in the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor (solid line) and the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr (broken line). 7C is a waveform showing the change in the A / F control learned value FGAFX, FIG. 7D is a waveform showing the ignition timing for each cylinder group, and FIG. 7E is the EGR air-fuel ratio correction. The waveforms representing the success or failure of the control execution flag are shown.
The example shown in FIG. 7 is in the state of the above case (1) (the EGR introduction rate is α> β and the air-fuel ratio of the EGR gas flowing through each
After a while from the start of the EGR control, as shown in FIG. 7B, the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor is corrected for the shift to the rich side by executing the A / F feedback control. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 7E, when the execution of the EGR air-fuel ratio correction control of the present embodiment is started, that is, as shown in FIG. When the advance timing of the ignition timing of the cylinder group is corrected, as shown in FIG. 7C, the absolute value | ΔAFegrfgaf | of the A / F control learning value difference becomes smaller. Accordingly, as shown in FIG. 7B, the EGR air-fuel ratio AFegr is controlled to be equal to the sensor air-fuel ratio AFsensor.
In the first embodiment described above, an in-line four-cylinder engine has been described as an example of an internal combustion engine having two cylinder groups, a first cylinder group and a second cylinder group.
