Description
The present invention relates to an improvement of a planar antenna in which an antenna pattern is formed of a conductor plate, and more specifically to an improvement of a dual-frequency planar antenna that can be used at two frequencies.
One type of planar antenna is a patch antenna (microstrip patch antenna). Since patch antennas are small, light, and inexpensive, they are used as antennas for wireless communication systems of 1 GHz band or higher, such as mobile phones, GPS navigation systems, ETS, VICS, and wireless LAN. A patch antenna, which is a directional planar antenna, generally has narrow band characteristics. For example, in the wireless LAN, 2.4 GHz band, 5 GHz band, and the like are used, but a patch antenna is required for each use frequency band.
However, it is not always possible to secure a space for installing two antennas in the LAN environment, and it is desirable that the antenna itself is small in terms of appearance and handling.
Thus, for example, Non-Patent
However, the gain of the dual-frequency antenna having the above-described structure is that two antennas exist in the main radiation direction, and one antenna hinders electromagnetic wave radiation of the other antenna. The gain is low as compared with the case where the antennas are spaced apart. The antenna output of a wireless device used in a wireless LAN is limited by laws and regulations, and it is important that the antenna gain is high in order to secure a wide communication area and secure communication quality. Wireless LANs are widely used in various environments such as indoors, outdoors, underground shopping streets, bullet trains, and airplanes, and have a gain performance equivalent to that of a flat antenna for a single frequency band with a compact structure. There is a need for a flat-frequency antenna.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a two-frequency planar antenna having a compact shape and a higher antenna gain.

It is characterized by being set to ½ wavelength (about ½ wavelength) of the high-frequency signal in the band.
To achieve the above object, the dual-frequency planar antenna (reference example) of the present invention is a dual-frequency planar antenna that can be used in two frequency bands, and is a second frequency band that is higher than the first frequency band. A first planar antenna including a first radiation plate having a characteristic of resonating with a high frequency signal in a frequency band, and a second plane including a second radiation plate having a characteristic of resonating with a high frequency signal in the second frequency band. Two planar antennas, wherein the first radiation plate has a shape in which a recess is provided in part, the second radiation plate is disposed along the recess, and the second radiation plate A feeding point is set on one end side of the first end, and the other end side is connected to the concave portion of the first radiation plate.
In addition, the dual-frequency planar antenna of the present invention includes a first plane including a first radiation plate having a characteristic of resonating with a high-frequency signal in a second frequency band that is a higher frequency band than the first frequency band. An intermediate circuit connected between the antenna, a second planar antenna having a characteristic of resonating with a high frequency signal in the second frequency band and including a second radiation plate, and the first and second planar antennas The intermediate circuit directly connects the first and second radiation plates in the first frequency band, functions as an inductance in the second frequency band, and the first radiation plate The second radiating plate is arranged along the concave portion, a feeding point is set on one end side of the second radiating plate, and the other end side is The first radiation by the intermediate circuit; It is connected to the recess directly.
By adopting such a configuration, it is possible to obtain a dual-frequency planar antenna having good gain characteristics in the first and second frequency bands. Also, it is possible to obtain a planar antenna having a gain substantially equal to that of a single-frequency planar antenna in the first frequency band and having a single-frequency planar antenna having two stages in the second frequency band. It becomes possible.
The intermediate circuit is an inductive circuit, and acts as an inductance formed by a conductor connecting parts of the first and second radiation plates. Since this inductance is a minute inductance in the first frequency band, the first and second planar antennas are directly connected, and in the second frequency band, the parallel capacitance generated at the connection point of the first planar antenna is reduced. Acts as an inductance to cancel.
The first planar antenna, the intermediate circuit, and the second planar antenna are connected in series with each other, the first radiation plate has a shape in which a recess is provided in part, and the second radiation plate Is disposed along the recess, a feeding point is set on one end of the second radiation plate, and the other end is preferably connected directly to the recess of the first radiation plate by the conductor.
A combination of the first and second radiation plates functions as one planar antenna for the high-frequency signal in the first frequency band, and the first and second for the high-frequency signal in the second frequency band. It is desirable that the radiation plates function as the first and second planar antennas, respectively. Thereby, in the first frequency band, one low-frequency antenna is formed by two high-frequency antennas, and in the second frequency band relatively higher than the first frequency band, the first planar antenna and The second planar antenna operates as a stacked antenna, and gain at a high frequency is improved.
It is desirable that the dimension from the one end side to the other end side of the second radiation plate is set to ½ wavelength (about ½ wavelength) of the high-frequency signal in the second frequency band. Thereby, a one-polar high-frequency current is generated in the second radiation plate. In addition, it is not necessary to be exactly ½ wavelength, and an effect is recognized if the value is in the vicinity (about ½ wavelength).
It is desirable that the outer peripheral dimension of the second radiation plate is set to two wavelengths (about two wavelengths) of the high-frequency signal in the second frequency band. Thereby, a high-frequency current of one polarity is generated in the second radiation plate in the second frequency band. In addition, it is not necessary to have two wavelengths strictly, and an effect is recognized if the value is in the vicinity (about two wavelengths).
It is desirable that the outer peripheral dimension of the combined shape of the first and second radiation plates is set to two wavelengths (about two wavelengths) of the high frequency signal in the first high frequency band. As a result, a high-frequency current of one polarity is generated in the planar antenna in which the first and second radiation plates are combined in the first high-frequency band. In addition, it is not necessary to have two wavelengths strictly, and an effect is recognized if the value is in the vicinity (about two wavelengths).
The combined shape of the first and second radiation plates is a symmetrical shape, and the feeding point and the connection point of the first and second radiation plates are arranged on a symmetrical center line. As a result, the directivity of the antenna in the horizontal plane has a maximum value in the direction perpendicular to the antenna surface, and has a symmetrical directivity characteristic.
The combined shape of the first and second radiation plates can be configured as a circle or a polygon.
The area of the ground plane is equivalent to the area of the radiation plate (the total area of the first and second radiation plates), more preferably 1.5 to 3 times the area of the radiation plate. . Thereby, the generation of electromagnetic waves is stabilized.
The dual-frequency planar antenna according to the present invention is a dual-frequency planar antenna having a characteristic of resonating with high-frequency signals having first and second frequencies, and includes a ground plane and a first radiation plate, A first planar antenna having a characteristic that resonates at a second frequency, a second radiation plate that includes a ground plane and a second radiation plate and has a characteristic that resonates at the second frequency. A planar antenna, wherein the second planar antenna is disposed close to the first planar antenna, a feed point is set on one end side of the second radiation plate, and the other end side is adjacent Directly connected to the first radiation plate, a combination of the first and second radiation plates functions as a single low-frequency antenna for a high-frequency signal of the first frequency, and more than the first frequency. High frequency signal with high second frequency It said first and second radiation plates function as stacked (or linked) One high-frequency antenna each.
With this configuration, the two-frequency shared planar antenna has two planar antennas functioning as one antenna at the first frequency and functioning as two antenna arrays at the second frequency. Thereby, it is possible to obtain a planar antenna having a gain equal to or higher than that of the single-frequency planar antenna at each frequency.
In addition, it is desirable that a protrusion is provided at the center of both side surfaces of the second radiation plate that is disposed in the recess of the first radiation plate and faces the inner surface of the recess. By adjusting the shape of the protrusion, it is possible to change the resonance frequency of the first frequency without affecting the second frequency.
Embodiments of the dual-frequency planar antenna of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. Corresponding parts are denoted by the same reference numerals in the drawings.

同図(B)は同図(A)のA−A’方向における断面図である。 FIG. 1A is a plan view showing a first embodiment of a dual-frequency planar antenna. FIG. 2B is a cross-sectional view in the A-A ′ direction of FIG.
As shown in both figures, the
The
For example, the
The
The narrow conductor portion of the intermediate connection 18 (intermediate circuit 180) preferably functions as an inductance L in the higher frequency band by directly connecting two planar antennas in the lower frequency band of the two frequency bands. The inductance L acts as an inductance that cancels the parallel capacitance generated at the connection point of the first planar antenna.

Next, the operation of the patch type planar antenna will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 2A shows a microstrip line that is the basis of a patch type planar antenna. As shown in FIG. 2B, power is supplied from one end of the microstrip line to open the tip, thereby acting as an antenna (patch antenna).
FIG. 3 is a diagram for explaining a patch type planar antenna. FIGS. 3A and 3B show the standing wave distribution of the high-frequency current I flowing through the

4 to 7 are diagrams for explaining the operation of the antenna in the second frequency band (for example, 5 GHz band) on the high frequency side of the two bands of the two-frequency shared
As shown in FIG. 4, the antenna in the explanatory diagram is composed of two antennas (a
Next, as shown in FIG. 5A, when the width of the

As shown in FIG. 6A, when the

As shown in FIG. 8A, the
Also in this configuration, since the first high-frequency current (low band) on the

Unidirectional characteristics similar to those of a single planar patch antenna can be obtained. A gain of about 9 dBi is obtained.
