Description
The present invention relates to an inspection apparatus and an inspection method for determining non-destructively the size of a spot welding nugget.
Conventionally, spot welding between metal plates is performed by pressing the metal plates overlapped and sandwiched between a pair of electrodes, and by instantaneously melting the metal plates with Joule heat by energization between the electrodes. This is done by forming a molten mass. Since the diameter of the nugget affects the strength of spot welding, it can be said that the quality of spot welding is determined by the diameter of the nugget. There are two methods for measuring the diameter of the nugget: a method in which the spot-welded metal plate is peeled off and directly measured, and a method in which the force necessary to peel off the metal plate is measured, both of which are destructive inspections. In other words, a sampling inspection is required, and a complete inspection is impossible.
On the other hand, 100% inspection is possible with non-destructive inspection. As a nondestructive inspection method for spot welds, for example,
However, the method proposed in
The present invention has been made to address the above problems, and provides a spot welding inspection apparatus and a spot welding inspection method that can perform nondestructive inspection of spot welds at low cost and are easy to carry. For the purpose.
In order to achieve the above object, the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is characterized by a capacitor and a charging for charging the capacitor in a spot welding inspection apparatus that inspects a nugget formed between two metal plates by spot welding. Generated in the nugget at the moment when the current starts to flow in the nugget, and a current-carrying means for causing the charged capacitor and the two metal plates to conduct and causing a current to flow through the nugget by discharging from the capacitor. And an induced electromotive force measuring means for measuring the induced electromotive force.
In the spot welding inspection apparatus of the present invention, the diameter of a substantially circular nugget formed between two metal plates by spot welding can be estimated. The inventor has discovered that when an electric current is passed through a nugget through two metal plates, an induced electromotive force is generated in the nugget at the moment when the current starts to flow. It was also found that this induced electromotive force has a correlation with the nugget diameter, and is smaller as the nugget diameter is larger and larger as the nugget diameter is smaller. Therefore, the nugget diameter can be estimated by measuring the induced electromotive force without destroying the spot weld.
The induced electromotive force generated in the nugget is generated only at the instant when the current starts to flow through the nugget, and increases as the current flowing through the nugget increases. Therefore, in the present invention, the capacitor is charged by the charging unit, and after charging, the energizing unit conducts the capacitor and the two metal plates, and discharges from the capacitor (discharge of charge accumulated in the capacitor). Current is passed through the nugget. Therefore, since a large current can be instantaneously passed, heat generation at the spot weld can be suppressed and a large induced electromotive force can be generated in the nugget.
The induced electromotive force measuring means measures the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget at the moment when current starts to flow through the nugget. Since the induced electromotive force and the nugget diameter have a correlation, the nugget diameter can be estimated from the measured value of the induced electromotive force, and the quality of the spot welded portion can be determined. For example, if the nugget diameter is greater than or equal to a reference value, it is determined to be acceptable, and if it is smaller than the reference value, it is determined to be unacceptable. By setting in advance, it can be determined that the measured induced electromotive force is acceptable if it is equal to or lower than the determination voltage, and is rejected if it exceeds the determination voltage. Further, the diameter (diameter or radius) of the nugget may be simply measured from the magnitude of the induced electromotive force without providing a reference value for determination.
Therefore, according to the present invention, the nondestructive inspection of the spot welded portion can be performed with a simple configuration. For this reason, cost reduction can be realized. Further, since a precise device is not required and the device is not enlarged, it is easy to carry. This improves usability at the inspection site.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the energizing means includes a coil in series in an energizing path for supplying a current to the nugget by discharging from the capacitor.
The induced electromotive force generated in the nugget depends on the rise of the current flowing in the nugget, and the generation period is very short when the current rises instantaneously. Therefore, in the present invention, by connecting a coil in series to a current path (capacitor discharge path) for passing a current to the nugget, the rise of the current flowing to the nugget is loosened (the current rising gradient is loosened). . Thereby, the generation | occurrence | production period of an induced electromotive force is ensured and the measurement of an induced electromotive force becomes easy.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the induced electromotive force measuring means measures a maximum voltage of the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget.
The induced electromotive force generated in the nugget is generated only at the moment when the current starts to flow, and immediately disappears. Therefore, in the present invention, measurement is facilitated by measuring the maximum voltage of the induced electromotive force. In particular, when the coil is connected in series with the current path, when the maximum voltage of the induced electromotive force is measured, the measured value has a stable proportional relationship with the diameter of the nugget. it can.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus of the present invention is that it includes a current measuring means for measuring a current flowing through the nugget.
The induced electromotive force generated in the nugget also depends on the magnitude of the current flowing in the nugget. Therefore, when objects of various sizes and shapes are to be inspected, the value of the current flowing through the nugget may change. When such energization conditions change, the magnitude of the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget also changes. Therefore, in the present invention, by providing a current measuring unit that measures the current flowing through the nugget, the correspondence between the induced electromotive force and the diameter of the nugget can be matched. For example, when the energization condition (current value condition) at the time of inspection set in advance and the actual energization (current value) flowed at the time of inspection are different, the determination voltage of the induced electromotive force serving as a threshold for inspection determination is set. By making correction according to the measured current value, the spot welding determination level can be kept constant. Or you may make it adjust the output of an electricity supply means so that the measured electric current value may turn into a preset electric current value. As a result, spot welding inspection can be performed with high accuracy.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the current measuring means measures a maximum current flowing through the nugget.
When the nugget is energized instantaneously by the discharge from the capacitor, the current value changes greatly. Therefore, in the present invention, by measuring the maximum current flowing through the nugget, it becomes easy to confirm the difference between the energization condition at the time of inspection and the actual energization.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the charging means includes a voltage variable power supply device capable of changing a charging voltage of the capacitor.
In the present invention, by providing a voltage variable power supply device that can change the charging voltage of the capacitor, it is possible to adjust the value of the current flowing through the nugget by discharging from the capacitor. For example, the current flowing through the nugget is measured by a current measuring means, and the output voltage of the voltage variable power supply device is adjusted to charge the capacitor so that the measured current value becomes a preset energization condition (current value condition) at the time of inspection. If the voltage is changed, the energization condition at the time of inspection can be satisfied. As a result, since the spot welded portion can be inspected with a constant energization condition, the inspection reliability is increased.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the energization means is configured such that the energization probes are attached to the two metal plates at positions apart from the positions where the nuggets are formed. A discharge current of the capacitor is passed between the energization probes, and the induced electromotive force measurement means performs the measurement in a state where the measurement probes are attached to the outer surfaces of the two metal plates at the positions where the nuggets are formed. The purpose is to measure the voltage between the probes.
In the present invention, the induced electromotive force measurement means measures the voltage between the measurement probes in a state where the measurement probes are respectively attached to the outer surfaces of the two metal plates at the position where the nugget is formed, The induced electromotive force can be measured well. In addition, since the energization means causes the discharge current of the capacitor to flow between the energization probes in a state where the energization probes are respectively attached to the two metal plates at a position away from the position where the nugget is formed, the induced electromotive force There will be no inconvenience such as noise from the energizing probe.
According to another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus of the present invention, the induced electromotive force measuring means includes a waveform display device that converts the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget into a digital signal to create and display a voltage waveform. That is.
In the present invention, the inspector can inspect spot welding by viewing the display waveform by converting the induced electromotive force into a digital value and generating and displaying the voltage waveform by the waveform display device. For example, a digital oscilloscope may be used as the waveform display device. In this case, since an existing digital oscilloscope can be connected and used, the cost of the spot welding inspection apparatus can be reduced. Further, if the waveform display device is separately carried, the spot welding inspection device can be easily carried.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the induced electromotive force measuring means includes a peak hold circuit that holds a maximum voltage of the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget, and a voltage output by the peak hold circuit. Voltage measuring means for measuring the current.
In the present invention, the maximum voltage of the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget is held by the peak hold circuit, and the held voltage is measured by the voltage measuring means. Therefore, the induced electromotive force generated instantaneously can be easily measured. In addition, the cost of the spot welding inspection apparatus can be reduced, and a precise apparatus is not required, and the apparatus is not increased in size, so that it is easy to carry.
Another feature of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the present invention is that the current measuring means includes a standard resistor provided in series with an energization path for passing a current to the nugget by discharging from the capacitor, and a maximum voltage of the standard resistor. And a voltage measuring means for measuring a voltage output from the peak hold circuit.
In the present invention, the standard resistance for current measurement is provided in the current path from the capacitor to the nugget, the maximum voltage of the standard resistance generated by the discharge from the capacitor is held by the peak hold circuit, and the held voltage is Measure by measuring means. The maximum voltage held by the peak hold circuit corresponds to the maximum current flowing through the nugget. Therefore, the current flowing through the nugget can be easily measured.
Furthermore, in carrying out the present invention, the present invention is not limited to the invention of the spot welding inspection apparatus, and can also be implemented as an invention of a spot welding inspection method.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a schematic circuit configuration of a spot welding inspection apparatus according to an embodiment.
As shown in FIG. 3, the spot
As shown in FIG. 1, the spot
The spot
In addition, one of the signal terminals of the charging path switch 32 is connected to the positive electrode of the
Therefore, when the inspector turns on the

A
The
The output terminal of the
The spot welding inspection is started by turning on the
As a result, a current flows through the inspection target portion A via the energization probes P1 and P2 (energization step). In the inspection target portion A, the nugget N is a portion where the lines of electric force are dense. Therefore, when the current of the
The magnitude of the induced electromotive force changes according to the diameter φ of the nugget N. In other words, when the diameter φ of the nugget N is small, the lines of electric force are dense as shown in FIG. 4A, so that a large induction occurs with respect to the change in the current i as shown in FIG. Electric power v is generated. On the other hand, when the diameter φ of the nugget N is large, the density of the electric lines of force decreases as shown in FIG. 4B, so that it occurs with respect to the change of the current i as shown in FIG. The induced electromotive force v becomes small. Therefore, since the magnitude of the induced electromotive force v and the diameter φ of the nugget N have a correlation, the diameter φ of the nugget N can be estimated by measuring the induced electromotive force v.
The period in which the induced electromotive force is generated is very short and almost ends within the current rising period. Therefore, in the present embodiment, by connecting the
The induced electromotive force in the nugget N is generated in a direction opposite to the direction in which the current flows when the current flowing in the
The
For example, when inspecting spot welds of a plurality of types of metal plates, the diameter n of the nugget N and the maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force v are shown for each type of metal plate to be spot welded, as shown in FIG. And an appropriate range of the maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force v with respect to an acceptable range in which the diameter φ of the nugget N is equal to or larger than the reference value φref. The inspector determines the maximum voltage of the induced electromotive force when the diameter φ of the nugget N becomes the reference value φref as the determination voltage vref, and passes when the measured maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force is equal to or less than the determination voltage vref. When it is larger than the determination voltage vref, it is determined to be unacceptable.
Thus, when the spot welding inspection by measuring the maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force is completed, the inspector turns off the
According to the spot welding inspection apparatus and the spot welding inspection method of the embodiment described above, the diameter φ of the nugget N is estimated based on the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget N when a current is passed through the inspection target portion A. Spot welding inspection can be performed non-destructively. Moreover, since the circuit configuration is simple, it can be implemented at low cost. In addition, since a precise device is not required and the device is not enlarged, it is easy to carry and easy to use at the inspection site.
In addition, since the energization of the inspection target part A uses the discharge of the
The induced electromotive force is generated at the moment when the current starts to flow in the nugget N and disappears immediately. However, since the
Further, since the measurement probes P3 and P4 are attached to the outer surfaces of the metal plates M1 and M2 at a position on the center axis of the nugget N, the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget N can be measured well. Further, since the energization probes P1 and P2 are attached to the outer surface of the metal plates M1 and M2 at a position away from the central axis of the nugget N, the energization probes P1 and P2 are generated around the energization probes P1 and P2. The effect of the magnetic field does not appear in the measurement results as noise.
Further, since the processing such as charging and discharging of the
<First Modification>
Next, a first modification of the above-described embodiment will be described. FIG. 8 shows a schematic circuit configuration of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the first modification. This spot welding inspection apparatus 11 is provided with a
The magnitude of the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget N varies depending on the magnitude of the current flowing in the nugget N (current flowing in the discharge circuit 20). Accordingly, the correlation between the diameter φ of the nugget N and the maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force v shown in FIG. 7 is based on the premise that the current i flowing through the nugget N has a predetermined reference current value. Therefore, there is no problem when the energization to the inspection target part A is the same as the energization conditions set in advance. Otherwise, the maximum voltage of the diameter φ of the nugget N and the induced electromotive force v shown in FIG. Correlation with vmax is off. Therefore, in the first modification, before conducting the spot welding inspection, it is possible to confirm whether the energization to the inspection target part A is the same as the energization condition set in advance by performing trial energization under the same conditions as the spot welding inspection. It has a configuration.
The
In this modification, the maximum value of the voltage generated in the
The inspector connects the measurement probes P3 and P4 to both ends of the
The inspector can detect the maximum current imax flowing through the
On the other hand, when the maximum current imax is different from the set maximum current imaxref, it is necessary to correct the determination voltage vref in the subsequent spot welding inspection. For example, when the measured maximum current imax is smaller than the set maximum current imaxref, the induced electromotive force generated in the nugget N is also reduced, so that the determination voltage vref is corrected accordingly. In this case, when various maximum currents imax are passed through the nugget N, the correlation between the diameter φ of the nugget N and the maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force v is obtained by experiments or the like, and is actually detected. Using the correlation between the diameter φ of the nugget N corresponding to the maximum current imax and the maximum voltage vmax of the induced electromotive force v, the determination voltage vref corresponding to the reference value φref of the diameter of the nugget N can be set. Further, for example, a correction coefficient α corresponding to a ratio (imax / imaxref) between the measured maximum current imax and the set maximum current imaxref is determined, and the corrected determination is performed by multiplying the original determination voltage vref by the correction coefficient α. The voltage vref may be obtained.
When the inspector finishes the current measurement, the inspector turns off the
According to the first modified example described above, the
<Second Modification>
Next, a second modification will be described. FIG. 9 shows a schematic circuit configuration of the spot welding inspection apparatus according to the second modification. This spot
In the first modification, the maximum current is measured before spot welding inspection, and the determination voltage vref is corrected as necessary. In the second modification, instead of this, charging of the
The voltage variable charging
Before the spot welding inspection, the inspector connects the measurement probes P3 and P4 to both ends of the
On the other hand, when the maximum current imax is not the same as the preset energization condition, the output voltage of the voltage variable charging
Note that it is not always necessary to obtain the set maximum current imaxref for the output voltage of the voltage variable charging
When the inspector finishes the measurement of the maximum current and the adjustment of the output voltage of the voltage variable charging
According to the second modified example described above, not only the effects of the first modified example are obtained, but also the
<Third Modification>
Next, a third modification will be described. FIG. 10 shows a schematic circuit configuration of a spot welding inspection apparatus according to the third modification. The spot
In the second modified example, the inspector manually adjusts the output voltage of the voltage variable charging
The
The
The inspector automatically adjusts the output voltage of the voltage variable charging
Next, the inspector turns on the
According to the third modified example described above, not only the effects of the second modified example are achieved, but also the energization to the nugget N is performed by automatically adjusting the output voltage of the voltage variable charging

Next, a fourth modification will be described. FIG. 11 shows a schematic circuit configuration of a spot welding inspection apparatus according to the fourth modification. This spot

The inspector reads the maximum voltage vmax while observing the voltage waveform displayed on the

Although the embodiments and modifications of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments and modifications, and various modifications can be made without departing from the object of the present invention. It is.
For example, in the above embodiment and the modification, the nugget N can be induced to generate an induced electromotive force and the maximum voltage can be measured by only one operation of the
