Description
The present invention relates to an electronic musical instrument and a program suitable for use in performances using arpeggios.
Traditionally, Arpeggio was originally used to mean distributed chords. For example, when generating chords of C sound, E sound, and G sound, those sounds that are generated while shifting the sound generation timing on the time axis rather than simultaneously sounding are called arpeggios. A function that automatically generates this arpeggio is called an arpeggiator. For example, an arpeggiator has a function of generating event data in which the sound generation timings of the corresponding C sound, E sound, and G sound are automatically shifted when the user simultaneously presses the keys of C sound, E sound, and G sound. .
On the other hand, as described in Non-Patent
In the conventional ordinary electronic musical instrument, since only “1” arpeggiators are provided, it is impossible to apply arpeggios simultaneously to event data of a plurality of parts. For this reason, the electronic musical instrument disclosed in
By the way, there is a case where song data of music composed of a plurality of parts is created using an electronic musical instrument and a multi-track recorder for recording performance information of a plurality of tracks. In such a case, the following method has been adopted. First, a user performs a performance related to any part using a keyboard of an electronic musical instrument or the like, and records performance information related to the performance on a track having a multi-track recorder. Next, the user performs a performance related to another part, and records performance information related to the performance to another track. When performing the recording, if the performance information of the already recorded part is reproduced and sounded, the performance information of the new part can be recorded while matching the timing with the already recorded part. As described above, when the performance information of a plurality of tracks is sequentially recorded, a part using an arpeggio may be recorded. In this case, when the arpeggiator described above is operated, performance information subjected to the arpeggio is recorded on the corresponding track.
However, the technique disclosed in
For this reason, when an arpeggio is to be applied to a certain part (for example, a part to be recorded), the user must manually specify what arpeggio pattern is to be set for the part. Therefore, the operation to be performed by the user is very complicated.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an electronic musical instrument and a program that can automatically select an arpeggio pattern in accordance with a designated part.

First, 18a in the
Among these functions, 36 is a sequencer, which records / reproduces performance information of a maximum of “16” tracks. Here, the track numbers (“1 to 16”) and the part numbers (“1 to 16”) in the
Each arpeggiator 46-1 to 46-4 is an event that is the result of applying an arpeggio based on the MIDI event data (original event data) of the part corresponding to the MIDI channel indicated by the channel number ARP_Rch set for each arpeggiator ARP_Tch (*) is added as a MIDI channel number to the arpeggio event data which is a data group, and the resultant data is output to the
The

A sound source plug-in 116 in the
In the
On the other hand, the
Therefore, in the
Next, 48 is an ARP_out switch, which switches whether arpeggio event data output from the
The arpeggio event data can be used not only inside the
Next, 34 is an ARP_rec switch, which switches the MIDI signal to be recorded in the
In the present embodiment, arpeggio event data can be simultaneously generated for the “4” part in the

Next, the contents of various event processes in the song mode will be described.
When the user performs a predetermined operation on the
3.3.1. Arpeggio on / off processing (Figure 5)
In the song mode, corresponding to the “16” part, “16” switches in the
When the process proceeds to step SP2 in FIG. 5, it is determined whether or not the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is “1” (on state). If “NO” is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP6 to determine whether or not the arpeggiator-free flag Afree (q) is all “0” in the range of “q = 1 to 4”. The Here, the arpeggiator free flag Afree (q) indicates either “1” (free state) or “0” (use state) for the q-th arpeggiator 46-q included in the
In step SP10, any arpeggiator number q whose arpeggiator free flag Afree (q) is “1” (empty state) is stored as the assigned arpeggiator number Aas (p) assigned to the part number p. . However, when an arpeggiator is not assigned to the p-th part, the assigned arpeggiator number Aas (p) becomes “0”. Since step SP10 is executed when there is an arpeggiator number q that can be assigned to the part number p, the assigned arpeggiator number Aas (p) is set to one of the values “1 to 4”. Become. That is, it indicates that the arpeggiator Aas (p) is assigned to the part p whose assigned arpeggiator number Aas (p) is not “0”. Further, in association with FIG. 4, in this case, “p” is set in the arpeggiator Aas (p) as the MIDI reception channel ARP_Rch (*).
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP12, since the arpeggiator associated with the assigned arpeggiator number Aas (p) is in use, the arpeggiator free flag Afree (Aas (p)) is set to “0” (use state). Is done. Also, in order to generate an arpeggio for the part number p, the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is set to “1”. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP14, the part setting data 274-p (see FIG. 2) of the part number p is read, and the arpeggio pattern related to the arpeggio type is determined based on the arpeggio type specified here. , Transferred from the
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP16, the on table OnTbl (Aas (p)) is cleared. Here, the on-table OnTbl (q) is a table that stores a flag of “1” (note on state) or “0” (note off state) for each pitch for the q-th arpeggiator. Each flag is set to “1” when a note-on event having a corresponding pitch is input, and is set to “0” when a note-off event having the corresponding pitch is input. Therefore, for example, in the arpeggiator assigned to the part related to the
On the other hand, if the corresponding arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is “1” (on state) when the arpeggio switch of the p-th part is pressed, “YES” is determined in step SP2. Then, the process proceeds to step SP4. Here, the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is set to “0” (off state), the arpeggiator free flag Afree (Aas (p)) is set to “1” (empty state), Further, the assigned arpeggiator number Aas (p) is set to “0” (no assignment). As a result, in the p-th part, the execution of the arpeggio is ended, and even if performance information related to the p-th part is output from the merge unit 44 (see FIG. 4), this is supplied to the
When the arpeggio switch of the p-th part is pressed, the corresponding arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is “0” (off state) and the arpeggiator free flag Afree (q) is set. If all are “0” (use state), “YES” is determined in step SP6, and the process proceeds to step SP18. In this case, since there is no arpeggiator that can be assigned to the p-th part, a warning message “All arpeggiators are in use” is displayed on the
3.3.2. Note-on event processing (Figure 6)
Next, processing when a note-on event occurs in the song mode will be described with reference to FIG. In the song mode, note-on events include (a) normal note-on events, that is, note-on events that occur in the
First, when a normal note-on event occurs, the process proceeds to step SP20, and whether or not the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) related to the part number p is “1” (on state). Determined. In the on state, it means that the part p is set as ARP_Rch of the arpeggiator Aas (p). If "YES" is determined here, the process proceeds to a step SP22, and the content of the on table OnTbl (Aas (p)) is confirmed. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP24, it is determined whether or not the note-on event that has occurred this time is the first note-on event in the part number p. That is, when all pitch flags of the on-table OnTbl (Aas (p)) are “0” (note-off state), the note-on event generated this time is the first note-on event.
If "YES" is determined in the step SP24, the process proceeds to a step SP26, and the counter Count (Aas (p)) is cleared to zero. Here, the counter Count (q) will be described. Since the arpeggio pattern generates arpeggio event data in a distributed manner on the time axis, in each arpeggiator 46-1 to 46-4, the arpeggio pattern currently generated progresses to what position on the time axis. It is necessary to identify what is being done. The counter Count (q) counts the elapsed time from the time of the arpeggio pattern generation in the q-th arpeggiator 46-q. Since the current timing at which the first note-on event occurs is equal to the time when the arpeggio pattern is generated, the counter Count (q) is cleared to zero.
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP28, the arpeggio execution flag Run (Aas (p)) is set to “1”. Here, the arpeggio execution flag Run (q) indicates whether the arpeggio is being executed (“1”) or not being executed (“0”). On the other hand, if the current note-on event is not the first note-on event, steps SP26 and SP28 are skipped. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP30, the current note-on event is registered in the on-table OnTbl (Aas (p)). That is, the flag corresponding to the pitch nn is set to “1”.
According to the processing in steps SP24 to SP30 described above, the arpeggio is started at the timing when the first note-on event occurs. When an additional note-on event is input while the note-on state of the pitch related to the first note-on event is maintained, steps SP26 and SP28 are skipped, so that the arpeggio being executed is changed. It will continue as it is. “Continue as is” may or may not affect the additional note-on event on the arpeggio event data. What meaning is given to additional note-on events and how they are handled is determined by the corresponding arpeggio pattern.
If the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is “0” (off state) in the normal note-on event, the process proceeds to step SP32, and the
Although details will be described later, in each arpeggiator, arpeggio event data is generated in accordance with the progress of the counter Count (q). If the arpeggio event data is a note-on event, the same processing as steps SP32 to SP36 in the normal note-on event is executed.
3.3.3. Note-off event processing (Figure 7)
Next, processing when a note-off event occurs in the song mode will be described with reference to FIG. There are also two types of note-off events: (a) a normal note-off event that occurs in the
First, when a normal note-off event occurs, the process proceeds to step SP40, and whether or not the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) related to the part number p is “1” (on state) or not. Determined. If “YES” is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP42, and the content of the on-table OnTbl (Aas (p)) is confirmed. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP44, it is determined whether or not the note-off event that has occurred this time is the last note-off event in the Aas (p) arpeggiator. That is, since the flag related to the pitch nn of the note-off event that has occurred this time is always “1” (note-on state), when all other pitch flags are “0” (note-off state), The note off event is the last note off event.
If “YES” is determined in step SP44, the process proceeds to step SP46, and the arpeggio execution flag Run (Aas (p)) is set to “0” (not being executed). In other words, in order to continue execution of the arpeggio, at least one of the pitches needs to be in the note-on state, and when all the pitches are in the note-off state, the arpeggio ends. On the other hand, if the note-off event is not the last note-off event, step SP46 is skipped. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP48, the note-on corresponding to the note-off event that has occurred this time is deleted from the on-table OnTbl (Aas (p)). That is, the flag related to the pitch nn is set to “0”.
If the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (p) is “0” (off state) in a normal note-off event, the process proceeds to step SP50, and the
3.3.4. Tempo interrupt event processing (Figure 8)
Next, processing when a tempo interruption occurs in the song mode will be described with reference to FIG. The tempo interrupt is an interrupt generated by the
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP66, the arpeggio pattern set in the arpeggiator 46-q in step SP14 described above is referred to by the count value of the updated counter Count (q), and the current timing is arpeggio. It is determined whether or not the event timing is to generate event data. If "YES" is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP68, where the arpeggio event corresponding to the current timing is corrected as necessary based on the information in the on-table OnTbl (q), and the output of the arpeggiator is output. This is output as an event of the assigned channel Ach (q) which is the MIDI channel number set as the destination. Here, what is stored in the on-table OnTbl (q) of the arpeggiator 46-q is information indicating the note that is currently on in the part indicated by the ARP_Rch (*) of the arpeggiator. Also, the assigned channel Ach (q) is ARP_Tch (*) and ARP_Tch in FIG. 4 and is output here as two event data of the two MIDI channels. According to FIG. 4, the output event data of ARP_Tch (*) drives the
If “NO” is determined in either step SP62 or step SP66, the processes in steps SP64, SP68, and SP70 are skipped. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP72, the arpeggiator number q is incremented by “1”. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP74, it is determined whether or not the arpeggiator number q exceeds “4”. If “NO” is determined here, the processes of steps SP62 to SP70 are executed based on the new arpeggiator number q. On the other hand, when the arpeggiator number q exceeds “4”, this routine ends.

4.1. Outline of Operation Next, the operation of the arpeggio REC mode will be described. First, a method of creating song data of a song using the
Here, an example of the
Here, in the MIDI signal transmitted and received between the
Thereby, in the arpeggio REC mode of this embodiment, when the user selects a track in the
4.2. Algorithm structure (Figure 9)
Next, an equivalent algorithm of signal processing executed by the
Here, as described above, the port number of “first or second port” is a number for specifying one of the communication paths of the MIDI signal when there are a plurality of communication paths of the MIDI signal. In the
As described above, in the song mode, the
Details thereof will be described below. First, event data generated based on the operation of the
If the echo back is on in the
The output arpeggio event data is given a transmission channel Tch (1, j) based on ARP_Tch set in the
If the echo back is ON in the
The

Next, the contents of various event processes in the arpeggio REC mode will be described.

4.3.6. Tempo interrupt processing (Figure 14)
Next, processing when a tempo interruption occurs in the arpeggio REC mode will be described with reference to FIG. In FIG. 14, when the process proceeds to step SP130, it is determined whether or not the arpeggio execution flag RUN is “1” (being executed). If “NO” is determined here, the processing of this routine is immediately terminated. On the other hand, if “YES” is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP132, and the counter COUNT is advanced by “1”. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP134, it is determined whether or not the arpeggio on / off flag Aon (sep) relating to the selected part number sep is “1” (on state). If “YES” is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP136, the arpeggio pattern set in the
If “YES” is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP138, where the event corresponding to the current timing is corrected as necessary based on the on-table, and the transmission channel Ach set as the output destination of the arpeggiator is set. Is output as event data. The transmission channel Ach corresponds to ARP_Tch in FIG. 9, but is automatically set to the transmission channel Tch (1, sep) here. That is, the event data is transmitted to the
Five. Modifications The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made as follows, for example.
(1) In the above embodiment, the algorithm (FIGS. 4 and 9) and event processing in each operation mode are performed by the program operating in the
(2) In the arpeggio REC mode of the above embodiment, among the event data echoed back from the
In such a case, when event data having the predetermined MIDI channel number is supplied from the
(3) The performance event in the above embodiment is a MIDI event, but may be a performance event of a standard other than MIDI as long as multiple parts can be played. In the arpeggio REC mode, the port number is used because only a part of “16” can be specified on the MIDI channel. However, if the standard allows a sufficiently large number of parts to be specified on the performance channel, it is not necessary to use the port number.
(4) In the above embodiment, a flag indicating "free" is stored for each arpeggiator, and a free arpeggiator is detected based on the flag, but information indicating the part assigned to each arpeggiator It may be stored and it may be determined whether or not a valid part is set in the information, and if it is not valid, it may be detected as a free arpeggiator.
(5) In the arpeggio REC mode, only one arpeggiator is operated, but a plurality of arpeggiators may be operated. In the arpeggio REC mode, the second port omni is set as the ARP_Rch of the arpeggiator. However, the second port of the same MIDI channel as the transmission channel of the selected part shown in FIG. It may be.
