Description
The present invention relates to a sleep meter and a sleep state determination method for determining a sleep state of a living body.
。 It is known that it is important to ensure sufficient sleep in order for a person to live a healthy life. The sleeping state is first determined whether the person is awake or sleeping by appearance observation by a person other than the person himself / herself. In addition, in order to objectively examine the sleep state, the sleep state is also analyzed from measurement results such as body temperature, heart rate, sweating, blood pressure, and the like. Furthermore, it is known that the brain is weak but generates electricity, and so-called brain waves can be detected by attaching electrodes to the brain. Various sleep states have been investigated by detecting this brain wave (for example, see Non-Patent Document 1).
。 Conventionally, as a device for detecting a brain wave and examining a sleep state, for example, an apparatus for obtaining a sleep profile provided with an electrode on a forehead, an amplifier, a microcontroller, and the like is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). .)

It was. For this reason, it was difficult to easily check the daily sleep state.

In the drawings, substantially the same members are denoted by the same reference numerals.
Embodiment 1
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a configuration of a
Next, each component of the
Here, the sleep state to be determined will be outlined. As research on sleep states progresses, it has been clarified that sleep states are not uniform and there are various depths of sleep. Furthermore, it has been found that there are two characteristic states of REM sleep (REM sleep) and NonREM sleep (non-REM sleep) in the sleep state. REM sleep is named for the rapid eye movement (REM) that causes the eyeball to move violently under a closed eyelid, and is the shallowest sleep state of sleep. When you are close and active. On the other hand, the body is in a state where skeletal muscle tension is relaxed and it is difficult to respond to external stimuli. NonREM sleep is a sleep state called “sleep without REM”, and is known to be divided into approximately four stages depending on the depth of sleep. The first stage is a slumbering state that transitions from an awake state to a sleeping state. The second stage is a state in which a full-scale sleep is entered. Further, the third stage and the fourth stage are deep sleep states and deep sleep states. In order to obtain sufficient sleep, it is necessary to secure sleep in a deep stage of NonREM sleep for a certain period of time. Therefore, here, the Wake state (wake state), the REM sleep state, and the first and second stages of NonREM sleep are light sleep states that are light sleep, and the third and fourth stages of NonREM sleep are deep. As a deep sleep state that is asleep, it is determined which sleep state it is.
FIG. 2 is a flowchart of the sleep state determination method according to Embodiment 1 of the present invention.
(A) First, an electroencephalogram is detected from a living body (S01).
(B) The detected brain wave (EEG) is subjected to frequency analysis, and each frequency component of the δ wave and the θ wave is extracted (S02). For example, frequency components may be analyzed by fast Fourier transform to extract each component of δ wave and θ wave.
(C) The sleep state is determined for each predetermined time block based on the contents of the θ wave and the δ wave (S03). Details of the sleep state determination step are shown in FIG.
(D) The determined sleep state is displayed (S04). For example, in (d) of FIG. 4, the Wake state (wake state) (W), REM sleep state (R), and Light sleep state (first and second stages of NonREM sleep) (L) for each time block. The Deep sleep state (the third stage and the fourth stage of NonREM sleep) (D) shows the determination result.
As described above, the sleep state can be determined for each predetermined time block.
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing details of the sleep state determination step in step S03 of FIG. Table 1 below is a table showing determination conditions and determination results in each of the determination steps S12, S13, S14, and S18 in FIG.
(A) A determination target is made for each predetermined time block (S11).
(B) It is determined whether the electroencephalogram (EEG) potential exceeds the normal electroencephalogram potential range (μV unit) during sleep (S12). If it exceeds the range of the electroencephalogram potential during sleep, it is determined as an artifact, and the Wake state is determined (S22). If it is within the range of the electroencephalogram potential during sleep, the process proceeds to step S13.
(C) It is determined whether the content of the θ wave + δ wave is equal to or greater than the first threshold (Th1) (S13). If the combined content is greater than or equal to the first threshold (Th1), the process proceeds to the next step S18. On the other hand, if it is less than the first threshold (Th1), the process proceeds to step S14.
(D) It is determined whether the content of the θ wave + δ wave is equal to or greater than the second threshold (Th2) (S18). If the combined content is equal to or greater than the second threshold (Th2), it is determined that the Deep sleep state (third or fourth stage of NonREM sleep) (S20). On the other hand, when it is less than the second threshold value (Th2), it is determined as the Light sleep state (the first stage or the second stage of NonREM sleep) (S19).
(E) It is determined whether the θ wave content in the combined portion of the θ wave and the δ wave is equal to or less than the third threshold (Th3) (S14). When the θ wave content rate is equal to or less than the threshold Th3, it is determined as a REM sleep state (S16). On the other hand, if the threshold value Th3 is exceeded, it is determined as a Wake state (S15).
(F) It is determined whether or not the determination is completed for all time blocks (S17). If the determination is completed for all the time blocks, the process ends as a whole. On the other hand, if there is a remaining time block, the process returns to step S12 to determine the time block.
As described above, the sleep state can be determined.

FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing details of the sleep state determination step in step S35 of FIG. Table 2 below is a table showing determination conditions and determination results in each of the determination steps S42, S43, S44, and S45 of FIG.
(A) A determination target is made for each predetermined time block (S41).
(B) It is determined whether the electroencephalogram (EEG) potential exceeds the normal electroencephalogram potential range (μV unit) during sleep (S42). If it exceeds the range of the electroencephalogram potential during sleep, it is determined as an artifact and determined as a Wake state (S51). If the threshold is not exceeded, the process proceeds to step S43.
(C) It is determined whether or not body motion is observed by the body motion detector (S43). When the body movement is detected, it is determined as the Wake state (S50). If no body movement is observed, the process proceeds to step S44.
(D) It is determined whether the content of the θ wave + δ wave is equal to or greater than a threshold value (Th−S) (S44). When the combined content is equal to or greater than the threshold (Th-S), it is determined as a NonREM sleep state (S49). On the other hand, if it is less than the threshold value (Th-S), the process proceeds to the next step S45.
(E) It is determined whether the θ wave content in the combined θ wave and δ wave is greater than or equal to the threshold (Th-R1) and the myoelectricity is less than or equal to the threshold (Th-R2) (S45). ). When both conditions are satisfied, it is determined as a REM sleep state (S47). On the other hand, if at least one of the conditions is not satisfied, it is determined as the Wake state (S46).
(F) It is determined whether or not the determination is completed for all time blocks (S48). If the determination is completed for all the time blocks, the process ends as a whole. On the other hand, if there is a remaining time block, the process returns to step S42 to determine the time block.
As described above, the sleep state can be determined.
